  1. I designed and build this LEGO Store inspired by the largest LEGO Store in the world at Leicester square in London as I thought it was about time to add a LEGO Store to my modular collection of 22. Ground floor: Technic, City and on sale product shelves Tube train photo opportunity with Royal Guard, William Shakespeare and the Queen Tube train with tram driver and Charlie the Conductor Two story high Big Ben with Constable, Detective and Judge Brickley the Dragon Welcoming by Lester Counter with register and Lester polybags 1st floor Friends, Duplo and other product shelves Phone Box photo opportunity Pick and Build wall Play Table Stair case with LEGO Logo history View on the Big Ben and Brickley the Dragon, 2nd floor Overall the modular has been designed to keep the amount of bricks as low as possible through the use of panels and large bricks. The 2nd floor is not a fully utilized floor to keep the brick count below the 3000 maximum. It is designed to have optimal light conditions in the store through the use of more glass and contributes to the already open inside structure of the building. The roof has four studs on it so the store can easily be recognized as a LEGO store on satellite map images :) If the brick count restriction would not apply I imagine the top floor could well be a shop for tea/coffee with cupcakes and a terrace to enjoy. If it reaches 10.000 votes on LEGO Ideas but is not approved by LEGO I will publish a free building instruction and parts list. I have a Studio design and as you can see it can be build in real bricks. So please vote if you like it :) LEGO Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e015f9c8-3faf-4308-b8ed-b5e09c6ebcef High resolution Flick album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/r53/albums/72157690132930563 A picture overview: Free building instructions, decal sheet and parts list on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-54534/BrickPolis/the-lego-store-leicester-square/
  2. All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players “As You Like It, Act II, Scene vii) In my MOC Lego minifigs are the players. I have tried to create the world of many of Shakespeare’s plays in Lego. I was inspired by the beautiful painting “Shakespearean Fantasy” by James Christensen, which is why there is a forest above the buildings. There are 19 plays represented in my MOC. Hope you can recognize most of them, although a few are from some less well known plays. I have included some animation and music to the model as well. The movement of Prospero is adapted from Jason Alemann’s Fisherman Kinetic Sculpture on JKBrickworks. Katherine is being chased by Petruchio while the “Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet” by Nino Rota plays. The movement was adapted from Pixeljunkie’s Swan Lake Ballet creation. The videos can be seen on my flickr page as well as closer images of all of the 19 plays. (I used mostly yellow minifigs except in those instances where the characters skin colour was relevant, they were magical creatures or they were dead or dying.) *Not sure if this is the correct forum but since most of the plays are set in the late1500s or earlier I placed it here. 3. Hi everyone, I'm here today to present you my latest creation : a theatre stage and is modular background. This MOC is composed of 3 separable modular elements that include the theatre stage, wings, dress circle box and two rooms behind the stage : the playwright's study and the actress's dressing room. The set include enough pieces to build (using the same parts) several stage sets to represent various backgrounds : a front door, a balcony, a living room, a dinner room, a bedroom, a science room, a throne room, a sepulchre, and even an other theatre stage in the main theatre stage ! The MOC also include several play functions : a trap door on the stage than you can open and close, two drawers to stock extra parts or minifig accessories and four LED lights who works with power functions elements hidden under the stage ! This creation make possible to recreated the most famous plays of Shakespeare, Molière, etc. You can use this MOC as a puppet show, using lego shaft to action minifigs. I published this creation on Lego Ideas. So, if you like it and wishe it become one day a real Lego set, you can support it by following this link : https://ideas.lego.com/projects/265e877d-0493-459e-ba91-b8a329ed292a Thank you !
  4. Hi everyone, I'm here today to present you my latest creation : a theatre stage and is modular background. Inspired by the look of one of the most important public theatres in France during the seventeenth century - the Théâtre du Palais-Royal –, this MOC makes possible to represent all the comedies you want ! The main part of this MOC is the stage itself and, of course, the arc of stage with the curtain. The arc uses some Lego architecture building techniques to represent with the most accuracy the Palais-Royal's arc of stage as we know it from archive's documents. This is the very one place where Moliere has represented his most famous plays. Thanks to a few techniques pieces hidden inside the structure, the built is very strong and can be easily handled without breaking. At the back of the theater, there is a very simple mecanisme who makes possible the openning of a trappe on the stage. There also a little door who makes possible to stock extra pieces and minifigure's accessories under the stage. These pieces and minifigure's accessories come from the other part of this project. Indeed, beside the stage, this MOC come with a secondary kit of pieces. Inspired by the rebuilt's process "3 in 1" from the Creator's modeles, this set of pieces makes possible to build several stage background and accessories to represent multiple wealthy interiors : the « salon » who come with a sedan chair ; the scientist's cabinet with a telescope ; the diner's room with a table, an armchair and a carpet ; and the bedroom with, of course, the bed ! And finaly, this MOC uses five minifigures who represent actors and actresses. As real actor changing costume between differents plays, these minifigures can exchange heads, hairs and accessories to incarne different characters. This MOC make possible to represent at least six comedies of Molière, the most famous playwriter on french literature : Dom Juan, Tartuffe, The Misanthrope, The Imaginary Invalid (Le Malade imaginaire), The Learned Ladies (Les Femmes savantes) and The Affected Young Ladies (Les Précieuses ridicules). But, of course, minifigures and pieces can be used to build any other play ! I have presented this MOC on Lego Ideas because I think it could be a really cool Lego set for everyone ! So, if you like it, you could support it and share it ! ;-) (you also can see other picture with more close up on Ideas) Thank you everyone, don't hesitate to leave a comment to tell me what do you think of this MOC !
  5. Captain Braunsfeld

MOC: Sloop HMS Small Green Flying Dutchman

[pid][/pid] 160B The story begins: William Shakespeare was getting worried... William Shakespeare was getting worried. The daily ferry to Henley should have been an easy undertaking, but now they had been sailing for two days and there was no sign of shoreline anywhere. He also worried about the captain, a fierce-looking rum-drinking villain who had no bit of decent behaviour in him. Why, so William asked himself, had he chosen to take this journey on the "Small Green Flying Dutchman" in the first place? The brigde across the Thames would have been just 60 walking minutes away. But now it was too late. His thoughts returned to the ship - and the people on board. The crew was strange. The man at the rudder never spoke a word and the soldier in his parade uniform seemed a bit out of place. And how would he handle the ship's four guns in case of a pirate encounter? And then there was the other passenger. A traveling cake salesman from Yorkshire. William decided not to trust him. There was something fishy about him. Two days out on the high sea and by now his ink pot was getting empty. How would he be able to proceed? William Shakespeare was getting worried. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - May I present the cast: William Shakespeare - The strange captain: The soldier The traveling cake salesman from Yorkshire: The small green Flying Dutchman The ship: and the ship with a great colour effect (that I found disappointing but my wife said I should keep it): Hope you enjoy(ed) it! P.S.: After the discussion about my last ship (a non-galleon) this is probably a sloop, but I am not 100% sure ) P.P.S.: And maybe the guns are carronades.
