    [MOC] Blacktron Ballista

Hi all. This is the Blacktron Ballista. The 4th and final ship in a fleet of Bionicle infused Blacktron ships I've been making over the last 6 weeks. This one was probably the hardest shape to create of the whole lot Full album is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72177720313493968 Or come find me over on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rubblemaker_lego/ Thanks again for looking, again and again.

    GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION

Hello, this is my latest Classic Space project, enjoy. You still love Classic Space, but you want more than just remakes of Classic Space sets? You want something new, fresh, never seen before? Here´s your opportunity to promote new futuristic designs for space sets. GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION, is a dome base fully enclosed with everything the space explorers need to survive extraterrestrial environments. Its composed of a 1200 piece dome base (roughly the same amount of pieces of 10497) and a 1100 piece launch port. A perfect addition to any Classic Space collection. If you like it, give it your support and let's hope we can have this on store shelves soon.

    COSMIC HORIZON RESEARCH BASE

A couple of months ago, I share images of a personal project for a Classic Space piece pack. I send it to Lego Ideas and was rejected. So I designed in around 4 days a space design using all those pieces at once. This is a space lab base with a internal rocket launching platform. The rocket is manned and can hold a minifig inside, Includes a vehicle and a spacecraft. Please help me by supporting this base. We need more cool classic space designs and make Classic Space as great as in the 80s. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/72fff146-8452-4118-889c-72d5a879b235
  4. Tezta Centenial Tower now includes an Infiltrator ship! My Lego ideas Project now features a Blacktron Infiltrator, a three module BT ship with a ship, a mobile base and a satellite with a little surprise, a Blacktron Spy Android. Please follow the link to see the ship. Finally a Classic Space set with a Blacktron spaceship included. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/3aaf1892-0890-445b-98ef-a5b5d7dbc0c1
  5. The wait is over. Follow the link and check the new images added. I had to choose brown color so it would contrast the base itself. I hope you like this. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/43814e85-ead4-46d0-886c-b024d6156756 PLEASE SUPPORT!!!

    Robot Command Center beaks

The Robot Command Center is a controversial Classic Space set and in some senses was a pioneer set. It was the first classic Space set which wasn´t neither a Vehicle, nor a Spaceship and even a proper Base. The design pushed the limits of 1984 Lego pieces and yet the structure was solid. Making aside the fact this set had many cool features, as many 80s space sets, it had some problems. The awkward "feet", the too low grabbing arms, the unreachable boxes, but many CS fans consider its worst flaw the two large canopies on each side of the robot. I´ve seen for years several updated versions of this set as Neo Classic Mocs and either remove the "beaks" or leave them as a mere adorn. In either case the problem wasn’t confronted. Following this logic, the solution would be leaving the canopies, but making them useful. Give them a purpose, to make them more than just a decorative feature. Some examples would be making them tool boxes, containers for equipment like jetpacks or drones, covers for hi tech sensors, an extra pair of arms inside the covers or defensive mechanisms. I focused on the last option and designed modern weapons which fit inside the canopies and leaving intact the rest of the original design as much as possible. Giving the RCC a worthy upgrade for this retro set. Link https://www.facebook.com/astronautagris/posts/508673584111677

    Old Memories, New Dreams

I was 8 years old when I got my first Lego Classic Space set LL918. I remember I spent hours with catalogs looking at LL924 and the Galaxy Explorer LL928. When I got LL928 from my grandma I was thrilled and couldn't let go. I even took it with me on holidays. Galaxy Explorer Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr A few years later I saw the Galaxy Commander in the store. At the time, due to my father's job, I was living in an a developing country in Africa, where Legos were very rare. I was gazing at the store window, nearly paralyzed and probably with a wide open mouth. I had just past my birthday and for Christmas time I would have to wait a long time. As quickly as I could I ran back home broke that piggy bank into pieces, took everything I had and ran back to the store. I still remember the feelings I had when building this spaceship and looking at every new part as if it were yesterday. Galaxy Commander Dropship_1 by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Now, decades later, being an AFOL I still love space topics, specially neo classic space models from other Afols. A few years ago I remember seeing Wolf Leews modernized version of LL928 (and 924 and 918) in LegoIdeas and having exactly the same feelings. I tried to push it in LegoIdeas but unfortunately it did not make it to the threshold. Wolf Leews, if you see this post, thanks for sharing the instructions. I have your models in my showcase ever since. The idea of an own classic space model did not let go of me. It took me again years of thinking how to approach this topic. My problem was I wanted everything. I wanted to have a command centre, several spaceships, some robots some cool versatile and functional vehicles, a garage where the vehicles would go for repair, a habitat, a repair bay for the robots. And I wanted the antagonists as well: Blacktrons! And I wanted everybody to build up his own space station. Uff! Galaxy Explorer Commander Dropship I knew this was impossible. Then my Lego Pueblo came to mind. It was a 4in1 set proposal at LegoIdeas that you could buy multiple times and stack to each other building up your own Pueblo village. My Lego Pueblo did not make it to the threshold but if I did such a concept once, maybe I could do it again. Many months of thinking and planning what to do, which bricks to use, color scheme, how to combine classic space with Blacktron, drawing and doing research followed. Then I started building. The target was a 3in1 space creator set with three different scenarios that you could combine forming a big space centre. Each scenario should have its own theme and its own playability concept. At the same time some models of one scenario should connect to models of other scenarios, so at the end you have one big unity. I also needed a story. As I love sci-fi and astronomy this part was the easiest one for me. What came out was space station "Antares", a 3in1 space creator set, where New Classic Space searches for Legonit ressources and Blacktrons trying to steal it from them. One alternate build is the Mining Outpost, the other one is the Bot Repair Bay and one is the Galaxy Dropship. 9 Antares Classic Space3x by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr With the Galaxy Dropship I combined the features of the Galaxy Explorer and the Galaxy Commander and built a mashup that had its own look. Like the Galaxy Commander the dropship can be split into a space fighter and the cargo bay. Like the Commander it may hold a space lab. But it also may hold a space buggy like the Galaxy Explorer. Since the space buggy is from scenario Mining Outpost, I decided it may also hold the truck from its own scenario. Then I continued. The Galaxy Dropship may hold the trailer the fuel or plasma tanks or even a small space fighter which actually is the cockpit of the robot of scenario Bot Repair Bay. The set seems to be huge, too big, but actually it is only big when the set is acquired multiple times. As a single set it has less bricks than the biggest official LegoIdeas set. I hope you like it and support it at LegoIdeas. It is another attempt to bring back some space without StarWars. 5 Antares Galaxy Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr 6 Galaxy Dropship Hangar by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Guys I do not want to bore you too much. Please take a look for yourself at LegoIdeas. FUTURON - POLARIS EXPRESS Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express par Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express de Horlack , sur Flickr Polaris Express by Horlack, on Flickr "Polaris", in reference to the mythical Set 6972 Polaris-I Space Lab, and "Express", in reference to the Trans-Siberian Orient-Express, in relation to a tracked vehicle of the tundra The inspiration comes mainly from the Russian tracked vehicle Vityaz DT-30, and its little brother the Vityaz DT-10PM, particularly adapted to the tundra and the cold. Multifunction vehicle. It can be converted to Cargo, Passenger, Small Vehicles, Oxygen, etc. There are 6 modular blocks of 5x7 studs, which can be unclipped, can be put in the hold, and can be put in the order you want. Include a mixture. The roof can be unclipped. The 2 types of Vityaz DT have many military or civilian variants. Surely one of the most varied vehicles in the world, however crazy it is. Excavator version, passenger / troop transport version, ballistic missile version, freight transport version, radar station version in arctic base, amphibious version, crossing bridge version, forest transport version, tank version (yes yes, with 2 turrets!), Version snowplow, mobile laboratory version, gas / mining version (currently used by Gazprom), etc. We are on a monster which is not far from being 3 to 4 large cars wide depending on the version. I wanted to stay a little in this “multifunction” spirit for the MOC. Custom radar, with lots of sensors. Cockpit, with an articulated twin-arm / view of the seat. Lights on the roof to illuminate everywhere = in the tundra, at night, in the cold, in the blizzard, in a lunar environment, etc ... Also, I focused on the armored aspect, trying to homogenize the 2x2 tile base on the hull. (or close). I made a maximum of modularity, I could not decide on one type or another of vehicle. So I made it simple and complicated at the same time: all types at the same time, lol! It's better :) I could also have made a command vehicle, with lots of consoles and control panels. It is quite possible, thanks to the available space. There is no limit to the imagination when it comes to converting the vehicle. Make a presentable base. Shall we say, a 1st for me. Especially the effect of the caterpillars in the sand, and the Lettering (which I'm not used to). The roof can be unclipped. All with a playable and accessible aspect. (I remain in the mentality / the spirit that a Lego must be playable, solid, playful, modular)
  11. Since I've recently picked up two large boxes from my parent's attic containing my old Classic Space sets, I've also started to design models in the spirit of the old Classic Space theme. I started with Classic Space / Star Wars mesh-ups (see here if you're curious), but then I wanted to do an homage to my favourite Classic Space set and here's the result: Unfortunately, my vision contains parts that use colours that Lego doesn't currently have in its inventory. So I had two choices, either to compromise on my design in order to make a regular MOC or to shoot for the stars and enter it on the LEGO Ideas platform...as the title indicates, I opted for the latter: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a57e5ea-cf61-4129-b4ac-b09fe3d15107 As you can see, I wanted to modernise the design with more curves, slopes and tiles while keeping the classic look & feel, the clean, sleek appearance and as many features as I could. Also, Classic Space sets usually had dope play features, so it was important for me to also include some kind of gimmick, which is the fully detachable shuttle in the back: Two ships in one! Here are some more pictures: So if you like it, I'd appreciate it if you followed this link and support the entry so that this set can be made into a reality. Cheers.

    [MOC ] LL-997 Viper

A couple of years ago I built a Neo-Classic Space display for Brickvention which I called A-83 Exploration Base (you can see photos of it here if you are interested.) as part of the display I built three ships of varying sizes/purposes and this one is my Viper, LL-997. It was designed to be a single-person fighter. More photos here for those interested, and I have also recently submitted it to LEGO Ideas if you would like to support it (and I personally hope that you will!). Thanks!

    LL-527 Falchion

I present my first ever Neo-Classic Space MOC: the LL-527 Falchion, a prototype attack craft cobbled together from experimental stealth technology and captured Blacktron fighters. This build came out of nowhere as I was experimenting and tablescrapping with greebling parts, and I just let the greebling take over. A starfighter body just took over and I added some wings to it, as well as landing gear on the bottom. The cockpit area was finished with the very few blue parts and looked like a true Classic Space craft, but new. More pictures on my Flickr album

    [MOC] 5T0-MP3R

Hi all, I’ve been making a fleet of Neo Classic Space inspired attack craft. This is the 5th craft in my fleet, the 5T0-MP3R. The story behind this one goes like this: When ground assault is the only option some serious hardware is needed. With an armour piercing chaingun on one side and a metal melting flamethrower on the other, the 5T0-MP3R flattens everything in its way. So don't get in its way! For anyone interested there are loads of other angles on this moc in my full album here (It also moves and splits in two): https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72157713662608238 Thanks for looking. :)

    [MOC] SPACEship

Hi everyone, while I usually build houses, I felt the need for a big spaceship - and I decided to use the letters S P A C E for the shape: The back is mostly open so people can look inside: And there are lights, as you can see - pulsing/blinking in the warp nacelles, blinking position lights at the top of the P. A few more views: Schematic: Since Flickr has problems today, I uploaded all 40 photos here to my blog (where you can also click to zoom and browse through them - no per-picture comments, though). Hope you like it...
  17. Hi, for my first step here, I'm glad to introduce my proposal for this contest. First thing was to choose the right set... I thought it could be funny to cross two opposite universe, so I choose something very far from Benny's habbits : the Lego Ideas 21316, The Flintstones Is it the end of the world ? Run Fred run ! Hi, sorry to interrupt your farewells, but I have an idea that might save us all... SPACESHIP ! SPACESHIP ! SPACESHIP ! Please, set your belts and don't puke on my toolbox !

    LL 302 Hornet

The FireMoth proved to have enough firepower to serve its role as a “cruiser killer”, but after making a successful debut, Blacktron altered its tactics to target FireMoths with concentrated attacks. While durable and stable, the FireMoth’s large wingspan hampered its ability to avoid concentrated fire. Frustrated by the mounting losses inflicted on the FireMoths, OrionBlu enlisted Cerberus Systems to create a new cruiser killer to replace the FireMoth. In the dossier submitted by OrionBlu to Cerberus, OrionBlu requested a ship with the weapons capability of a FireMoth combined with the elusiveness of a Blue Jacket. The ultimate solution was a blending of the cockpit and fire power of the FireMoth with an engine and wing design similar to the Blue Jacket. While officially named the LL 302 “Hornet”, the ship quickly earned the nickname “Fire Jacket” due to the blend of the two designs. The Hornet featured a similar two person cockpit to the FireMoth, but changed the seating configuration so both the pilot and gunner faced forward. The cockpit was also set at an incline to allow both crewmen to see forward without obstruction. This configuration also allowed manual aiming of forward blasters and emergency piloting from the gunner’s position. The Hornet was also the first Cerberus Systems craft to feature automated rear-facing defense weaponry, though the undercarriage mount made the weapon only effective from attacks from directly behind or below. The Hornet was not as powerful as a FireMoth nor as maneuverable as a Blue Jacket resulting in mixed reviews from pilots. Due to the mixed reaction, the Hornet was not a full replacement for the existing FireMoths, only replacing destroyed crafts while FireMoths still in service were not phased out nor reassigned to non-combat duties but they were instead retrofitted with additional shielding and external, wing mounted maneuvering thrusters to compensate for their perceive lack of maneuverability.

    Benny's x-wing X-Wing X-WING

I started building this last summer, but never was able to take pictures of it. When I finally did, I revealed it on AFOLs of Facebook to much fanfare, but I thought I would share it here as well. First picture is an angle shot. It is a modified 9493. I extended the nose, modified cockpit and engines. But I used that set as a starting point, then changed things as it came along. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr This is a rear shot of the engines. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr Cockpit area. Added some extra decals so Benny knows his surroundings better. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr With s-foils in attack position. Front view. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr Side view. I think this is one of my favorite angles. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr Rear view. Neo Classic Space X-Wing by TheLegoDr, on Flickr I know I've seen many classic space inspired X-Wings, but I liked doing it myself as well. It was a big hit at the few local LEGO shows I've taken it to. I have since built a 48x48 landing pad similar to the 928 landing pad, but no pictures taken yet. I have also built a classic space Y-Wing and currently working on another station/landing area for an A-Wing. Anyway, let me know what you think. Plus, any critiques. I'm new to classic space inspired builds. I don't have a lot of these colors, so it is all new purchases for me, so I don't always have the greebling needed. I have given thought to going back and smoothing out the wings better and exposing less studs.

    [MOC] NCS Outpost

Hi everyone! My first post here in... well, some years. I want to share with you this Neo Classic Space inspired outpost. I'm not exactly from the blue-grey CS generation, I grew up with Blacktron II, Ice Planet and co., but I really like the aesthetics in NCS, so I decided to give it a try, and I hope you guys like it! Nova Ceres Sigma (Ʃ) outpost A class C facility for scientific research, installed on the barren side of Nova Ceres, one of the 5 moons of the exoplanet Crivs VI. This is my second build in the Neo Classic Space theme. I confess that I'm not totally pleased with the photography, I think it looks better in person, but still, I'm happy with the build. : ) It will have an interior, with all the scientific paraphernalia needed for this kind of mission, but that is still a WIP. And inspired by vintage touristic (fu-touristic? ) posters, and the amazing series by Nasa "Visions of the Future", I tried my hand on a poster promoting the exploration of Nova Ceres - a fantasy moon of some exotic exo-planet, lost somewhere in this galaxy. 22. Hi folks! Year 2090. The colonization of the planet Mars is a reality. To develop an autosufficent civilization is important to find a solution to recreate the flora in the planet. So, here it is the botanical research center. It consist in a laboratory, four greenhouses (temperate forest, tropical forest, crops and fruit plants), a control room, a meeting room and some services. Each minifig colour represent its division: - green: laboratory; - blue: supervisor; - red: forests greenhouses; - yellow: crops; - black: fruit plants greenhouse; - white: technics; - grey: director. The model it is not a 100% neo classic space theme, I've changed some colour scheme due to the lack of yellow trasparent pieces; also, we're in Mars not on the moon! ;) P.s. the spherical classic space logo is a recreation of ones that I found on google. I've just changed the colour and added a plant, to represent the research division. [MOC] LL-116 Spacecraft

Well, i finally went and photographed this one. I already took it to the previous LowLUG meet where a lot of people could see it already. I didn't feel like photographing it because it has the wrong canopy colour, and i'm super picky when it comes to that stuff. But i haven't been able to get my hands on one, and i decided to photograph it without it, as it's still a cool MOC and i want to share it with everyone. Enjoy! Be sure to check the full album on Flickr!
