  1. Damaborg Sawmill Damaborg 622 AE The hamlet of Damaborg was in huge need of wood. More than a regiment of MAESTRO soldiers are stationed here and the exploration operations needed resources to fuel their success. Food, clothes, medicines, weapons, drinks, pleasure, apples, ... . Ofcourse that meant that bigger buildings were needed to store and trade them. In combination with the first defensive structures, a huge wooden wall. One of the main ingredients of this bustling place would be wood. Also for the expiditions itself, timber would be very usefull for chariots and smaller sloops for exploring. Luckily there are trees enough in this area. But cutting them and sawing them by hand takes a lot of time. And time is precious. So construction began of a sawmill. Based on the ideas of Cornelis Corneliszoon, a windmill was constructed, connected to the saw by gear. Through the neverending powersupply of wind, the proces of sawing wood into planks became so much quicker. Soon the speed of the development of Damaborg would be unseen! Will be licenced as a large factory in Damaborg (The Lowers). Thanks for watching! C&C much appreciated :) (ooc) While looking for examples, I discoverd the first sawmill powered by windenergy was developped and octroied by the Dutch farmer Cornelis Corneliszoon in 1593. It took some research to discover how it works and I hope I managed to bring it into LEGO. The proces isn't that clear here and probably not 100% accurate (it was a vertical saw, here I used round sawblades as I had no clue how to make it work otherwise). I always wanted to build an historic windmill and this was the perfect opportunity to build it with a saw factory.

    [MOC] Sweet red mill

This moc is inspired by an old typical Dutch mill called Kikkermolen (frogmill). Dated from 1747. Always when I passes the mill on my bike I thought, what a sweet tiny beautiful red mill. Let's recreate it with bricks :-).

    Miller's Gardens

Along the road to the mountain city of Zamorah, Mr and Mrs Miller have their cottage. The grounds have been in the family for generations. The head of the family, Zancibar Miller, is a miller, just as all the other men in his family have been as far back as anyone can remember. When Zancibar was young and adventurous (and as convinced as any young man that he would never follow in his fathers footsteps...), he traveled around Avalonia in search of the meaning of life. In his travels he met his wife, an elven Herbalist named Ëlandriel. Zancibar Miller Ëlandriel Miller When they wed and got their first daughter, Zancibar felt a strong urge to move back and take over the mill after his father. The young family did just that, and as time passed, the family grew. They are now a big family, with three kids that all help with the chores. Ëlandriel has a big garden where she grows all kinds of exotic and rare plants and herbs for her potion making. Their oldest son, Bertil, helps in the garden and in the mill. Their youngest son Emil is a little rascal that spends most of his days doing all kinds of mischievous things... Catzy Miller and her carrier-pigeon business The cottage is located right beside one of the big roads leading to Zamorah, and the many travelers that pass their home provide the family’s businesses with regular income. AoM: Kervid's Mill

Mill "Mitgardia's farmers feed the guild. They are up before dawn and work till well after sunset. They face any number of challenges they can't control, from too much rain to not enough, from diesease to insect infestations." This will be integrated in a larger layout i'm working on. The mill is my entry to Age of Mitgardia - the mill category.
  5. I mainly wanted to experiment with dark orange as a predominant landscape color for this build, and I think it turned out nicely. Credit for the tree design goes to Joeri Ridder. The mill does work, in that the oxen can be ‘driven’ around easily and the mill stone is driven in turn by them. Ox driven mills are one of the simplest mills, yet still quite effective. Most towns and villages in Mitgardia have at least one of these mills. "More barley to be ground, Ailin?" "Yep, will be one of the last trips for me though. Nearly finished with my harvest." More pics on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking

    Watermill

Hello all, i wanted to build the medieval village what Derfal Cadarn build in this topic of his: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/60907-detailed-guide-to-building-a-medieval-village/ I started to build and soon found out that it is a HUGE project which requires a huge amount of bricks. I do have bricks though but not as many that are used in that project. So i decided to do the landscape first and build the watermill. All is based on his excellent guide so all credits go to him ofcourse. Mind you, its not nearly finished but i managed to build some. Hope you like it and please comment ( but be gentle, this is my first ever build) I used a baseplate of 48 x 48, laid the foundation and started to build away.
  7. (I'm not a native speaker, so please do not care that much about my mistakes) Today I like to presnt you my first Lego modell I ever made for a forum. It is the Winter Water-Mill, which fits perfectly to the Winter Village Sets of the last years. This set contains a mill, a sledge, a doctor and a street painter. Here it is: Here you can see the inside of the mill, there is a table with food, a moveable millstone and a music corner. And here are the small pieces; the sledge the painter and the doctor. The pictures are somehow very small but I'm going to upload a .zip file to see them better.
  8. Hey all! Here I have a new Kyrrath build ready to share with you! I've build the mill for the Husbandry minichallenge, but also for my Legoworld 2015 layout(Utrecht,Netherlands) so if you want to see it in real life, headover to the Netherlands :) About the backgroundstory for this build: While there isn't very much food in Nocturnus, Birro, the son of a poor farmer somewhere in the Rakath Mountains, Is traveling through Nocturnus to find a job to get money to buy food for him and his Parents. After visiting many places without succes, he arrives in Kyrrath. Here, he hears that the miller of Kyrrath needs a servant to help him with the heavy work. When he walks up the path to the mill, He sees why the miller needs a servant: The mill pond is silted and there is almost no wind to let the blades rotate. When he knocks at the door, the miller opens the door. When Birro asks if he can be the servant of the miller, the miller tells him he can directly start his new job and tells Birro that he'll send some food to his parents. from that day on, Kyrrath has a new, hardworking villager and a happy miller! Well, here are the pics: The moment of my build is when Birro walks up the path to the mill: Hope you enjoy my mill! I hope to meet some of you at Legoworld2015! And have a nice day, jaapxaap
  9. Pretty sure this forum is the best fit. I was looking for a fall/Halloween moc idea and decided to use this picture as an inspiration: Here is the moc so far: I don't have a red wheel barrow yet so I need to get that. The gray part will be filled with trans blue studs for water. I may builda rusty tractor or something to sit in there.
  10. In the middle of New Town, on the north bank of the river, the mill of the Trifork is located. Here grains from a wide area surrounding the Trifork is ground to flour before being shipped off by ship or caravan, sent to the bakeries, sold in the market, or stored in warehouses for times of need. (Or more favourable market conditions...) With a mill inside the walls, the Trifork is well-positioned to build up large stocks of grains and flour, meaning the Trifork rarely suffers in times of war and famine. Further, the traffic of grains going in and flour and bread going out, has established the Trifork as an important market for grains and related products. Avalonian wheat for north west Kaliphlin alone represent an immense volume of trade. Here the miller is loading a wagon with the last few hours of production, which will be going to the bakeries of Old Town south of the river. ====================================================================== This is a build for the HSS challenge. The mill rotates 360o degrees, so it can be turned into the wind. Further, there is a working grindstone inside, turning with the wind. Quite happy with the outcome of this, and looking forward for some feedback.

    [MOC] Red Mill with tractor

Hi, Greetings from Poland and LUGPol :) I am new around here, although I've been around for quite some time now. This is my first MOC shown here on Eurobricks and second that I did (the first one can be seen on my brickshelf). There is a bit of nostalgia to my old days before the DA, which as seen from the style of it, has been long ago... This goes back to good old Basic sets :) I hope you'll enjoy it. The mill rotates by means of a handle at the back of it. There are also lights in front of the entrance (old 9V system). If you are interested in building instructions, they are linked on Rebrickable: Red Mill. Tractor with trailer. And here goes the pictures:
