  1. Hello everyone, there is a contest, that comes around annually, and never ceases to impress, both with the fun from the participants, the difficulty deciding for the judges, and even the amazement of the viewers, of the the Middle Earth builds posted in the 5th annual Middle Earth Lego Olympics on Mocpages. I had the honor of helping set up the contest this year, and I am very excited for what is ahead, since the Mocpages forum is dying off, and we still want to have a competition that is fun, and challenging, we are advertising this contest on all other sites so that it can meet the expectations of the moccers on Mocpages. There will be six rounds, of different Middle Earth related such as Poems/Songs in the books and/or movies. Round 1 will be a free for all, which will be judges by 6 judges on a 1-10 point scale where the top 32 contestants will move on to the next round, then, from rounds 2-6, the rounds will be a one-on-one moc-off, where contestants will face off, and the judges will choose whose build they think is better. Please check out the contest by clicking the link below the banner: Mocpages Group Link!!!!!! Thanks so much for viewing, I hope you choose to compete, view, or donate to this great contest, no matter what you do, I hope you come along for the ride to Mordor! To God be the Glory!!!
  2. MEC Category B: Pippin and the Barrow Downs Once Pippin got back from Gondor, it was too late. He had a taste for adventure and had to seek it out further. He decided to turn to the Barrow Downs that he, Frodo, Merry, and Sam wondered into on the way to Bree. After wandering around one barrow, he came across the entrance. After he moved the boulder aside, Pippin peered inside. He spied the riches of a long ago lord or king. Pippin grabbed one of the gold chalices lining the barrow to prove his tale to all the Brandbucks and Proudfoots in Hobbiton. Pippin would have us to believe that the long dead king sprung to life and chase him with an enchanted blade, but any sensible hobbit would not believe a word of it. I don't know where he and his young friends went off to for so long but I am too wise to believe in returning kings, cave trolls, or even long dead kings guarding their goblets. EDIT: I had started this MOC before the contest was announced. I released after I submitted it that it is 18 studs square, which is two studs too long each way. There was no easy way to slim it down so I decided to switch Bilbo for Pippin.
  3. Here is my entry for MEC Category A: Durin's Bane. Recreate Gandalf's glorious battle with an ancient Balrog! The part count is around 300 and consists of a mighty Balrog and Gandalf. My plan for Durin's Bane is that a balrog is big enough to be a set without any fluff and could be packaged like a Hero Factory or Bionicle set. The bridge of Khazad-dûm would be great but huge and spendy and could still be a separate set with generous helping of Moria orcs. Play features are super important and Durin's Bane is fully articulated, can stand easily without tail support (but the tail helps a lot), has a light brick for an inner fire effect, has a platform for Gandalf to stand on to reenact the falling scene and has a removable chest that Gandalf can break off with Glamdring to expose the weak point! Things that would be improved by LEGO could be a break apart, light up sword (it shatters against Glamdring), possibly a different fire whip and various other parts such as wings and the fire mane. 4. Hello everybody, this is my entry in the contest, i hope you will enjoy it. "After the defeat of Sauron, King Thranduil decided to pacify the Mirkwood forest and extinguish forever the exterior threats. The former stronghold of Sauron: Dol Guldur still contained armed troops. King of the Elves, who received the news of the destruction of Mordor, assembled his army in order to end the Orcs. The battle was bloody because troops Orcs were numerous and mischievous. Little elfs survived this assault. But the target was reached, the black forest had to get rid of the last army of Sauron in Middle Earth. The King Thranduil told the king that the threat orc Aragorn had gone black forest and the elves could henceforth live in peace". 1 by Black Numenorean, on Flickr 2 by Black Numenorean, on Flickr 6 by Black Numenorean, on Flickr 8 by Black Numenorean, on Flickr 12 by Black Numenorean, on Flickr 13. by Black Numenorean, on Flickr More pics in my flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91878412@N03/sets/72157648264631039/

    MEC Category B: Hunted Down

Even after the end of the War of the Ring, a few Orc packs remained, but without their master, these were hunted down and slain.
  6. My final entry to Category C. This is one of my favorite scene of the Desolation of Smaug movie, and I've waiting for a good chance to recreate it in LEGO.
  7. MEC Category B: Arwen's Fate Elrond once predicted Arwen's Fate should she forsake Valinor in order to remain with Aragorn. "If Aragorn survives this war, you will still be parted. If Sauron is defeated and Aragorn is made king and all that you hope for comes true, you will still have to taste the bitterness of mortality. Whether by the sword or slow decay of time, Aragorn will die. And there will be no comfort for you. No comfort to ease of his passing. He will come to death an image of the slender of kings of men, in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world. But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darknesss and doubt as night following winter comes without a star. Here you will dwell bound to your grief under the fading trees until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent. Arwen, there is nothing for you here... only death." And so it came to pass, Arwen remained and married Aragorn, now Elessar King of Gondor. Eventually Aragorn finally succumbed to the slow decay of time. He was immortalized in the fashion of the kings of old. Arwen mourned the death of her husband for many years... Though the fullness of an elf's life last much longer than grief. The sagas tell us of another scion of an elf lord who missed the last boat from the Gray Havens to the West. Legalos son of Thranduil fashioned his own ship to take both him and Gimli to the undying lands. When her grief was finaly spent Arwen built her own vessel. Arwen built and painted the ship and soon joined her father, brothers, Bilbo, Frodo, Gimli, and the rest of her elven friends in the undying lands to the West.
  8. Help Theoden, Eowyn, and Háma gather supplies from a barn and flee to Helm's Deep. The warg rider is waiting to ambush them. Gather suplies from a barn in the Westfold. Gather a barrel of apples, carrots, and some blankets for the refuges. Fight from horse back or use the horse to haul supplies. Theoden, Eowyn, and Háma can even fight in the barn. Time to head to Helm's Deep*. * Helm's Deep sold separately.
