    Mad scientist's laboratory moc

I started building this MOC a year ago before completely running out of white pieces. The building came to a halt and this creation sat around for over a year. After finally coming back to it, hope you like it!

    [MOC] Research&Development Facility

*Blimp! Good day! My name is Yennifer. And I’ll be your guide for today. Welcome to Shinrai-Do’s Research Facility, the most advanced laboratory in the E continent. In here, we do all kinds of research and laboratorial analysis for all kinds of purposes. Everything is verified and approved by the most reliable agencies and governments. So, don’t worry. We got it all covered. Just remember to handle all your electronic devices to an official. If an official is unavailable, look for Paul, our most reliable janitor. Our super advanced laboratory has been founded somewhere between 1906 and last year. Since then, we’ve discovered a lot about plants and their use in medicine, food and... all sorts of purposes. All of them verified and approved by the most reliable agencies and governments. If you take the stairs to the first floor, you will find yourself in our laboratory area. Dr. Lukas Brenner is a three-time Nobel Prize winner botanist specialized in alternative uses for venomous substances. He was the first botanist in the world able to compress thousands of ounces of venom into small exploding shells, an experiment that can be used for... all kinds of purposes! Each of them, verified and approved by the most reliable agencies and governments. But remember not to take the stairs. That’s a forbidden area. Next to Dr. Brenner, you will see Dr. Mallorie Lynch, the head behind it all, the scholar-CEO-master of puppets-pyrotechnic-Rockstar-Pulitzer-winner for her countless contributions to the botanical field-tech-guru-war-strategist-trend-setter, expert in alternative uses for exploding paraphernalia analyzing one of Shinrai-Do’s venomous exploding shells. This one has already been verified and approved by the most reliable agencies and governments. On the main floor, if you turn east, you will see Mr. Q. He’s made a whole bunch of money from working in all sorts of industries: toys, fashion, education, military, beauty, restaurants... and now he finances all Shinrai-Do’s botanical researches! Isn’t that cool? And you guessed it. He’s personally verified and approved, too! On the lower floor, through the glass doors, you will find our testing area, where we test all our... plants! Right now, Mr. Treeger, a former hairstylist and now a full-time stuntman, is testing our very own venomous exploding shells. Isn’t it exciting? Oh, remember to put your masks on! And please, don’t enter the testing area. It has not been verified or approved by any agency or government. If you have any questions, please, address all of them to Paul, the janitor, and he will safely escort you to the exit. We hope you had a wonderful time! Thank you for visiting the Shinrai-Do’s Research Facility. *Blimp! _________ I've really struggled to finish this one. I'm running on a theme I have no practice on, which is military-sci-fi, but I'm very happy with the result. Hope you all like it. Let me know what you think! Would love to hear your thoughts. Any comments and feedback are much appreciated. Thanks! Louis of Nutwood.

  5. Hello I'd like to present to you my latest work showing famous Noble Prize winner - Maria SKłodowska Curie in her laboratory. This MOC is a part of bigger project by which in this year my community (Zbudujmy To) celebrates 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland. Vignettes and little dioramas are my favorite forms of LEGO creation and in this one I tried to depict the laboratory as well as possible with various furniture and lab equipment. Additionally, I submitted this project on LEGO Ideas, where you can find some more facts about this model: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/99146fd7-3d4a-497a-a050-ac1757e15e95 Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr Laboratory of Maria Skłodowska-Curie by crises_crs, on Flickr

    Classic Space Mobile Laboratory

First of all, greetings! I'm new here, I'm polish fan of LEGO and other toys, mostly Transformers and other action figures. I'm slightly reckonisable among polish YT toys community thanks to my polish toy reviews on channel called "Benny's Plastic World". I'm also fan of SW, comic book heroes, giant robots, Discworld, cartoons and other nerdy stuff. As the Afol I'm mostly fan of the old castle and space themes, and also Bionicle and other construction figures. Today I would like to present you my space MOC, an homage for Classic Space series. Mobile Laboratory is a three part model, each you can play apart, or attach them together. There is vehicle on treads, laboratory itself and the platform with the little mech suit. The staff contains three classic space astronauts and a little robot. Vehicle has movable radar and the locker with tools. Laboratory has openable door and roof, movable chair for the minifig, some computers and the second locker. Mech suit is pretty posable with ball jointed legs and feet and bendy like arms. Also, each astronaut has his own cup for tea or coffie :) More photos on my tumblr blog with tag "classic space" - https://bennyplasticworld.tumblr.com/search/classic I submitted this MOC for LEGO Ideas. If you like it I would appreciate your support! - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/486f4782-27cf-4a30-a440-d16fbd08b828
  7. INTRODUCTION The research institute was the 6th Cuusoo / Ideas project to be released. It was a very short-lived set with an unexpectedly large following. This set got popular outside of LEGO circles due to its feminist message concerning the lack of portrayal of women as job workers in sets. (or something along those lines) This might have been unintentional, but got a lot of attention which may have influenced the sets early retirement, seen as The LEGO Group usually goes to great lengths in order to avoid being used as a tool to promote any political, religious or otherwise socially sensitive messages. It’s a set of 3 individual vignettes built on a 6x6 base, representing three jobs. A paleontologist, astronomer and chemist. TECHNICAL: Set Name: Research Institute Set Number: 21110 Number of Pieces: 165 Theme: Ideas Designer: Alatariel (Ellen Kooijman) Availability: LEGO Exclusive / retail Year Released: 2014 Price: $ 19.99 / € 19.99 Stickers: 0 New elements: 0 Exclusive minifigures: 1/3 Brickset entry Bricklink Inventory The set consists of 165 pieces and three minifigures. It’s easy to build but a small child may need some help, especially with the dinosaur. There are a lot of tiny pieces, so keep your cat and baby clear while building. The box is a step nicer than we are used to, Ideas sets tend to have non-standard box dimensions and fold open from flat like a box of chocolates. Inside you’ll find the instruction booklet. Unlike most sets, with Ideas you get a thicker, sometimes differently binded book with a smoother paper finish. Before the actual build you can read a story about the author, how the idea for the set was born and a short description about the Ideas project. The research institute booklet also describes each of the portrayed scientist jobs. PARTS SELECTION: There are no new or very special parts except a printed blackboard, but you do get a nice selection of lab accessories including a purple colored Erlenmeyer flask which isn’t very common. MINIFIGURES: You get three figures for three scientists. The white lab coat with an orange shirt is a torso print exclusive to this set. The other two minifigures use common parts seen in other town themed sets. I think the white coat chemist is a representation of the sets author which is why it might have gotten special treatment, even though this isn’t outright mentioned anywhere. All the characters have double faces if you want to get them angry or shocked. The paleontologist doesn’t seem to be having a good day either way. BUILD: After you are done with the little gang of scientists, you better give them something to do. We start with Alatariel’s, I mean the chemist’s workplace. This build is the quickest and simplest, but she gets all the nice glassware and other fancy bits and bobs. I would have liked some tiles on that floor but I guess the design team responsible for parts optimization and price boundaries at TLG would disagree. Some scientists get fancy flasks, others get floor furnishing. Moving onto the next gang member and probably the most interesting build of all. The dinosaur! After we are done mini-building this cool microscope stand which stalled us from getting to the dinosaur, we can finally begin work on that menacing T-Rex! … I mean research reference material. This is where the build gets slightly more interesting. The parts that make the skeleton are quite imaginative, someone put a lot of thought into this, hopefully not during work hours. (; No tiles here either, but with a prop this cool, you don't need them. Moving on to the third and last scientist. The astronomer. The build is tiny, but I like how the telescope is built. The use of a sextant and the bucket element for the lens is pretty genius. I think white might have been a better choice of color, but probably not worth the extra expense as some of these elements aren't available in that color. The floor tiles give it a nice finished look, and overall, in spite of the dinosaur, this is my favorite build of the three. And there you have it, the collective institute of researchers. Chemists are a common sight in many research institutions, but I don’t really think you would find a paleontologist and astronomer together in the same building, or at least not very often. I was thinking how to make use of these vignettes in a town setting, and finally chose to use up the empty space in my town hall set as a form of exhibitional and educational area. Leftover parts: Ideas sets are nice enough to always include a brick separator even with smaller sets. Nice to get an extra bone and syringe, but nothing rare or of great use is left from the build. CONCLUSION: I feel like this set is a piece of LEGO Ideas history, it’s the one that baffled with popularity, it held a message and gave us some variety. I’d love to see more specialized themes in LEGO, ones that aren’t firemen and cake shop vendors, something you could put on a bookshelf just for display even if you’re not a regular builder. I don’t think the set was targeted primarily at children, but I feel it could work quite well as a play set. The build is simple and instantly recognizable. Overall Design: 7/10 - All the props are within reach of the limited minifigure limb articulation capabilities except the microscope. Maybe the floor furnishings could be more consistent between the builds. I appreciate the choice of printing in place of stickers. Parts selection: 6/10 – Most of the elements and colors are common, you do get one or two interesting items. Play features: 7/10 – This set is probably not primarily intended for play, but would be up to the task nevertheless Challenging build: 7/10 - The set has a couple of interesting builds despite its small scale Minifigures: 6/10 – One is great, one is acceptable and one is dressed inappropriately for the job description. I think they could have done slightly better. The choice of faces is great though. Overall: 7/10

    [K-C09] Jakob's ladder

Location: C09 - Orinshi Tags: Science, Building r Log #006 – 31 Oktobrinali 3816 Because of my lack of activity within Kawashita, I'm doing simple chores for other people on our home planet Orinshi. At least I can keep wearing my pilot costume which I take pride in. The other day, on halloween, I had to get a ladder for the hallway janitor, from a doctor who experiments with alien lifeforms. I thought It was illegal to do that to other sentient beings. I don't want to think If alien lifeforms will experiment on us. And I don't like seeing open flesh wounds and organs... So, with much hestitation, I went in and see the doctor for borrowing his ladder. The man greeted me with a warm sounding welcome with a thick German accent. His name is Jakob and when I asked him If I can borrow his ladder for the janitor in this hallway, he started to laugh out loud. "Jakob's ladder!" he reexclaimed twice. I had no idea what's so funny, but maybe It's a German thing. But I may borrow 'his' ladder ofcourse. When facing the ladder, I saw all the things I ignored or blocked out of my field besides Jakob: A huge monitor screen with nothing but bloody organs, wings getting dissected, alien bugs in jars, a huge eyeball staring at me. I grabbed the ladder anyhow without thanking and greeting Jakob and fell unconsious with the ladder on the hallway. More information and pictures under the spoiler tag: EDIT: English can be hard.

    Lego Slurry Tank

Here is a lego slurry tank with associated research laboratory that I have built to help explain some research we are doing. Here is a view with the lab: And a view with the word: This is my first design with a curve wall structure (the main tank) and using SNOT techniques (especially behind the control panel).

  11. Gary has always been a bit unlucky when we talk about love. Maybe it’s his appearence, because Gary’s looks… eh, how would I say it… Anyway, girls haven’t shown much attention for him over the years, though Gary has tried everything from blind date to Tinder. Because Gary works as a biochemist, he decided to develop some kind of love potion in his home lab! He recruited volunteer women with a newspaper announcement to test his creations. After many years, chemical reactions and failures, it seems that he finally made it! As always, C&C are very welcome! :)

    [MOC] Hazardous experiments

Hi there, here is my last moc, it's the first time i make a scene at this scale. It represents a scientific laboratory where scientists do some strange experiments. It was essentially inspired by the set 70163 - Ultra agents Toxikita. The scene is composed of four rooms. The first one is the principal experiment room, where mutants are studied. Then there is a security vestibule to put on Hazmat suits and avoid contamination, driving to a higly secured laboratory where genetic manipulations are tested. The last room is isolated and into it experiments are made on hazardous materials with a laser. This last experiment is led from the principal room.
