  1. Is Friends the new city? Is Friends now also for boys? New video on YT Youtube video
  2. Hello everybody! According to Insta we'll get following Friends sets for the first half of 2022: 41695 4+ Vet Clinic 41697 Turtle Protection 41700 New Camping 41701 Street Food 41702 Houseboat 41703 Friendship Treehouse 41704 Apartment Building 41706 Mission Vehicle 2022 Power The Street Food set could be nice if the house would - in contrast to the 2021 Orangic Food Shop and Cinema - have sidewalls and a second floor; but honestly I doubt that. The Apartment Building sound interesting. I hope it actually will be a building with different apartments, with long enough sidewalls and no fantasy stuff like slides or so - the 2021 Hotel showed how great Friends buildings can be if they're designed this way. What do you think?
  3. TECHNIC AIRCRAFT CONTEST - INFORMATION TOPIC After discussing several contest ideas, we figured this was the most popular idea for the next contest....flying stuff! "The desire to fly is an idea handed down to us by our ancestors who...looked enviously on the birds soaring freely through space...on the infinite highway of the air." DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic Aircraft. Obviously, your model doesn't have to be able to fly. This is not a wacky competition so we are looking for realistic vehicles. It doesn't have to be an existing vehicle or a model of an existing vehicle, but it needs to be something we could potentially see in real life. You can come up with your own concept design (like the B-model of the BMW Motor Bike), but we are not looking for futuristic unrealistic scifi designs. No spaceships either. Drones, jetpacks, balloons, zeppelins, planes, helicopters, etc are some of the potential models that come to mind. Here is a list of vehicles for which it wasn't very clear whether they are allowed: Kites, yes Gliders, yes Spacecraft, no Spaceshuttles/Orbiters, yes Rockets, yes SSTOs are Single Stage To Orbit-Spacecrafts , yes Ground Effect Vehicles, yes Hovercrafts, no DEADLINE Deadline date is Monday the 17th of February 2019. Contest will be closed on Tuesday the 18th of February, OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the deadline date. Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following section describes the contest specific and general rules and regulations. But before that, please take notice of a simple motto regarding the Eurobricks Contests: CONTESTS ARE FOR FUN! Of course there's competition, but at the end of the day, LEGO is just a hobby and the main goal for each of us is to have fun! CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Each entry needs to have a name (no name, no entry). Model Team style building is not permitted. You can use system parts, but keep it mainly Technic. Mindstorms and LEGO Electronics are permitted. SBrick and Buwizz are permitted. 3rd party Strings, Hoses and Rubber Bands are permitted. 3rd party tires are not permitted. Other 3rd party parts are not permitted. There is no size limit. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Members can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected). Voting rules will be explained later in the voting topic. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously or shown at an event/LUG meeting). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me, or Milan. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Custom stickers are allowed. No cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. The contest might be closed later than the deadline. Don't complain about this not being fair. You have enough time to build. Don't ask for more time. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Jury members are not eligible to participate. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a discussion topic and create a post in the entry topic. DISCUSSION TOPIC A discussion topic starting with [TC15]. A discussion topic needs to show some actual progress (i.e. pictures of the build in progress) and should NOT be used to "reserve an idea". ENTRY POST The entry post in the entry topic should contain: Entry name. One or more pictures (max 3 of max 1024x1024). Embedded video (mandatory). Link to the discussion topic. VOTING Voting scheme will be public voting only, but only by members who have 50 posts or more. If you have less posts, you can vote, but your votes will be automatically excluded from the tally. Voting criteria are (in no particular order): Originality. Looks (shape, color scheme etc). Quality of the build. Functionality. PRIZES Three wonderful prizes can be picked from the five sets below. For the prizes we define two categories of contestants: Mortals (contestants who haven't won any medals in previous contests) and Immortals (contestants who have won one or more medals in previous contests). Top-3 winners will get medals as usual, regardless of the category. 1st PRIZE: WINNER OF THE CONTEST The winner of the contest calls dibs on one of the five sets. 2nd PRIZE: RUNNER UP OR FIRST MORTAL The second prize goes to: Highest ranked mortal, if the contest winner is an immortal (already has a medal) The person who ended second (actual runner up), if the contest winner is a mortal (has no medal yet) So, in theory both prizes can go to mortals, but I'm sure the immortals will do their best to prevent that 3rd PRIZE: RAFFLE PRIZE The third prize will be raffled among contestants who have created a discussion topic (early on), are actively showing progress and providing value to the community. @Milan and myself will decide who gets this prize. No discussion. The raffle winner can choose one of the three remaining sets.
  4. TECHNIC THEME PARK CONTEST The last couple of years TLG has released several theme park rides in the Creator Expert theme. Recently, even a big rollercoaster has been released. We have seen some cool Technic creations in the past and there's even a very cool one being built in the Technic forum right now. So, why not have a Technic Theme Park Contest? DESCRIPTION Build a Theme Park Ride! The ride needs to be operable, so it needs to be a working ride. Functions can be operated manually or motorized. Motorization isn't mandatory. It can also be a combination of manual and motorized functions. You can use any official LEGO motor or electronics you can find, including Mindstorms. SBrick, Buwizz, PFx Bricks and custom LED solutions ARE permitted too. No sculpting, cutting or gluing pieces and no other 3rd party parts (besided electronics and the usual strings, hoses and bands). There is some difference between theme parks, amusement parks and fairgrounds, but for this contest the difference doesn't matter. You can build any ride, but we will use the term Theme Park for this contest. It doesn't even have to be an existing ride. You can come up with your own ride! However, this contest is about the ride, so NO trucks or trailers, just the ride. Of course, you can include Minifigs and use System parts (Modelbuilder style) to decorate the ride. DEADLINE Deadline date is Monday 3rd of September, 2018. Contest will be closed on Tuesday 4th of September, OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the deadline date. Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. 6. Hey guys, I’m searching MOC instructions and LXF files for my near-future huge Lego city. I plan of course doing some MOC modulars but there are some very nice MOCs created by other people! I made a list of all the designers I found, I hope that list helps some other people who search modular instructions! Here are the must-have instruction designers and instructions I listed (with no particular order): -Brick Ative (by @lookl and @Pakita) -SteBrick (by @stef2280) -Andrew Tate (instructions on sale by @2013-lego) (by @snaillad) -Sheo (by @sheo) -Ryan Taggart (by @ryantaggart) (instructions on www.snakebyte.dk) -Train Station (by @LegoWolf) (link to download the LXF file on his Flickr: ge.tt/498NPKi2 ) ____________________ Here are the almost-must-have instructions designers and instructions (with no particular order): -bricksandtiles (by @Giacinto Consiglio) -peedeejay (by @peedeejay) -brickcitydepot (by @brickcitydepot), the latest instructions (CB023, CB026, CB027, CB028, CB029 and CB030) -Villa Maison (by @marcosbessa) (found the LXF file on LDD gallery as it’s no longer available in his own website) _________________ Between two categories ones (starting from those who have EB accounts) : -Kristel (by @Kristel) -BrickToyCo (by @Tobysan) -hermez (by @hermez) -2013-lego (by @2013-lego) (his own designed modulars) -Dunkaadkin0 (by @Dakar A) -A *Deal* 4 U (by @waltzking) -andrepsramos -custombricks.de -TheUniqueBrick -Bjor Schoute -sabriyo -The Royal Church (by ateameric) _______________ Here are some other ones (those I don’t really like but may be of interest to others) (the ones with an EB account are on the top of the list): -SkywardBrick (by @SkywardBrick) -mestari (by @Mestari) -brickcitydepot (by @brickcitydepot) (other ones) -brickbuilderspro -Bricker & Co -Berth -Soar Brick -jval (Need for Brick) -Fully Brick Models -Brick Vice So that’s all I found. Maybe you ask yourself “why he’s asking for new instructions, he already found enough!” I ask it because I’m just purchasing/will just purchase the instructions in the categories “must-have” and “almost-must-have”. In LDD gallery, there are some interesting MOCs, you can download them too. I hope that list helps some people and some people helps me by recommending/finding more modular instructions/LXF files. Cheers!
  7. Today is the 20th anniversary of LEGO's first video game, LEGO Island! I've been built the Island in real life in honor of this anniversary as well as to honor Wes Jenkin's legacy, who sadly passed away last week. Here is an introduction video I did of the Island: I also modeled all the buildings in Stud.io so that you can download and view them in 3D and easily export them into Bricklink wishlists if you want to build your own Island! Here's a sampling of the Information Center. If that piques your interest, you can CLICK HERE to see the rest of the buildings! To download the Stud.io files CLICK HERE!
  8. TECHNIC PNEUMATIC CONTEST By popular demand the next Eurobricks Technic Contest is all about Pneumatics. The new Volvo EW160E has been released recently, so it seems like a logical moment to focus on Pneumatics. In the past we've had several great Pneumatic models and recently we kind of lacked a nice manually operated model. TLG stepped up and released the Volvo. They even created a new hand pump for this model. So Pneumatics V2 is very much alive! DESCRIPTION Design a pneumatic model operated by one or more hand pumps and/or one or more (PF) motors powering one or more pneumatic pumps. So you can use motors as long as they are used to drive a pneumatic pump. They can't be used for other functions (not even to operate a pneumatic switch). There's no limit on the number of hand or motorized pumps and you can use. Third party hosing, strings and rubber bands are allowed. No other 3rd party parts. LEDs (and other LEGO lights) are permitted when you are using one or more motorized pumps. Since this contest is all about Technic and Pneumatic, Model Team entries are NOT allowed. A studded model is okay (like the excavator in the picture) but don't turn it into a Model Team entry. DEADLINE Deadline date is Monday 31st of October, 2016. Contest will be closed on Tuesday 1st of November, OR LATER. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Model Team entries are NOT permitted. Studded is okay, but no model team. One or more PF motors ARE permitted as long as they operate pneumatic pump(s). You CAN combine hand pumps and motorized pumps. Umbilical cords for hand pumps, switches or other operations ARE permitted. You can use ANY type of motor, as long as it's operating a pump. PF or other motorization is NOT permitted for non pump functions (not even operating a pneumatic switch). LEDs (and other LEGO lights) ARE permitted ONLY in combination with a motorized pump. There is NO limit on the number of pumps or pneumatic cylinders. 3rd party strings, hoses and rubber bands ARE permitted. Other 3rd party parts are NOT permitted. Linear actuators are NOT permitted. Electronics (PF elements used for non pump functions, SBricks and Mindstorms) are NOT permitted. Pullback motors are NOT permitted. There is NO size limit. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Members who joined EB after the start of the contest can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected). Voting rules will be explained later in the voting topic. One entry per member. Don't complain about this not being fair. You have enough time to build. Don't ask for more time. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are Jim is not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a discussion topic and create a post in the entry topic. DISCUSSION TOPIC A discussion topic starting with [TC10]. A discussion topic needs to show some actual progress (i.e. pictures of the build in progress) and should NOT be used to "reserve an idea". ENTRY POST The entry post in the entry topic should contain: Entry name Short summary of the functions. One or more pictures Embedded video (mandatory) Link to the discussion topic PRIZES Prizes will be sponsored by the guys from Vengit (SBrick), for which I am of course very thankful. Keep up the good work guys. WINNERS The Top-3 contestants will receive a copy of the new Volvo EW160E! And of course they will be rewarded with a medal tag. CONTESTANTS Each contestant will be rewarded a pneumatic tag as well.
  9. TECHNIC BANDITS VS ENFORCERS CONTEST Bandits are roaming the wastelands, driving custom battle vehicles, making life miserable, hatching plots against humanity and what not. Things would have gone from bad to worse if it weren't for the Enforcers, trying to maintain peace and calm. This ongoing conflict needs to end once and for all. DESCRIPTION Build a Technic Vechicle with two modes, one normal mode and a battle mode. The vehicle needs to be able to switch/transform between the two modes. In normal mode the vehicle needs to look like a normal vehicle, without visible weapons, armor, etc. In battle mode all bets are off. No restrictions here, use your imagination. Weapons popping out, armor plating sliding out, whatever. You and your vehicle need to survive, so you need to outsmart your rivals. For example: A vehicle with wheels (a car, a motorbike) that turns into a vehicle that doesn't need wheels (a plane, a helicopter, a boat, a submersible). A truck that transforms into a rocket launch site A helicopter that turns into a jet plane TRANSFORMATION The single most important aspect of this contest is that the vehicle (that is the chassis or bodywork) needs to have some sort of transformation, which makes it possible to turn the normal vehicle into the battle vehicle. Essentially, it needs to transform into another type of vehicle, or the same vehicle with sufficient transformation. For example; You can create a vehicle where the bodywork rises and can turn like a tank. This doesn't really make it a different vehicle, but there is a proper transformation. CHOOSE SIDES Before you start building, you need to choose a side! Will you ride with the Bandits and wreak havoc or will you uphold the law and roll with the Enforcers. The choice is yours! In order to distinguish the two sides, there's a mandatory color scheme to be used. The Enforcers roll in Black & White (optional), while the Bandits use any other color combination they can get their hands on (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, a mix of colors, whatever). Both sides can use Grey as a supporting color (as long as it's not predominant). Both sides can use any color in the chassis, as long as the bodywork is mainly the color of the chosen sides Both sides can use grey in the chassis. Colored pins and bushes are allowed, but please try to avoid using colored connectors, clearly visible from the outside. NAME YOUR VEHICLE What would a bad megablocks vehicle be without a bad megablocks name?! Exactly! So each vehicle needs to have a cool name, designating the vehicle in the pack. DEADLINE Since this is a summer contest and some of you might enjoy a well earned holiday, the allotted time for this contest is 8 weeks. Deadline date is August 16th, 2015. Contest will be closed on Monday the 17th OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the 10th of August. CATEGORIES In order to make it a bit more interesting for everyone to enter the contest, we are trying something new. Instead of having a single list of participants with Jeroen winning , this contest consists of two categories (A and B). One for Pro builders (designated by the Pro tag) and the previous contest medalists. The second category is for everyone else. Updated category rules (thanks to Lipkop for the suggestion): The two categories aren't strictly separated. Voters will not be forced to vote in both categories, and the ranking will still be announced as a single list, not just the separated A and B lists. So basically everything will be as it was before, but the first pro/non-pro in the list also gets a prize and gets attention. The winner of the non pro category might get promoted tho the pro list Disclaimer: Not all Pro builders have a Pro tag. When I see a Pro builder entering the contest, I retain the right to grant him the Pro builder tag and promote him to category A (no questions asked). CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Each vehicle needs to have a cool name (no name, no entry). Each contestant needs to chose a side (Bandits or Enforcers). Bodywork of an Enforcer needs to be Black & White (optional) as supporting color (grey as supporting color is allowed). Bodywork of a Bandit needs to be Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, ... (any color, or a mix of colors), as long as it's not Black or White (grey as supporting color is allowed). Pneumatics are permitted. LEDs are permitted. 3rd party strings, hoses and rubber bands are permitted. Electronics (PF elements, SBricks and Mindstorms) are permitted. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Members who joined EB after the start of the contest can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected). Voting rules will be explained later in the voting topic. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a discussion topic and create a post in the entry topic. REMEMBER TO GIVE YOUR VEHICLE A BAD megablocks NAME! DISCUSSION TOPIC A discussion topic starting with [TC7] Bandits - Vechicle Name or [TC7] Enforcers - Vechicle Name. ENTRY POST The entry post in the entry topic should contain: Entry name Short summary of the functions. Information Central [Modular MOC]

Information Central [Modular MOC] As part of the great Mayhead City redevelopment, the town's old, dated information centre was completely renovated to provide a better experience for tourists wishing to find out more about the local area. The new building both manages to maintain the iconic interior of the old information centre and project the centre's design into the future with a state-of-the-art viewing platform. Thanks for looking!
  11. (Dedicated to Grohl, the best C-Model builder Eurobricks has ever known.) Technic C-Model Contest Our last contest was dedicated to Model Team, a tricky contest to enter. Listening to your opinion it became clear that having an alternative build (C-Model) contest is highly anticipated. So hopefully you will enjoy this contest. It's a contest well worth to enter since we have great prizes DESCRIPTION Build an alternate LEGO Model out of one or two existing LEGO Technic sets. You can't use 600 parts of a 1200 part set. Since 2005 is the year I came out of my dark ages, I am also imposing a release date limit. The set(s) need to be released in the year 2005 or later. For example: Use two (different) sets: 144 parts + 186 parts = 330 parts Use a single set: 499 parts DEADLINE Deadline date is November 30th, 2014. Contest will be closed on Monday the 1st, so you will have the entire Sunday to build. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Set(s) not older than 2005. 12. MODEL TEAM VEHICLE Entering the last contest (Mini Build) with a Model Team creation wasn't allowed. To compensate we are now looking for Model Team creations...and Model Team only! We know there's a thin line between Model Team and Creator Series, so we won't be overly critical about the entries. If you want to know more about what is considered Model Team, here's an elaborate topic about it. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Model Team vehicle with a maximum size of 46 x 16 STUDS. For example: Truck Jeep Formula One Car Boat Helicopter ... In my opinion Model Team is a model with a Technic chassis, a brick built bodywork and a couple of functions/features. DEADLINE Deadline date is October 3rd, 2014. Contest will be closed on Saturday the 4th, so you will have the entire Friday to build. Closing time on Saturday is whenever I feel like it (most likely after breakfast), so consider Friday to be the deadline. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Maximum size is 46 x 16 STUDS (rear view mirrors and comparable parts sticking out don't count towards the width of the vehicle). NO Electronics (PF, Mindstorms, etc) are allowed. Only OFFICIAL LEGO parts. No chrome unless it's official LEGO (see previous rule) Ropes/Strings, rubber bands and pneumatic tubing need to be official LEGO parts. Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. Aesthetics do count. ONLY Model Team. GENERAL RULES AND RESTRICTIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a discussion topic and create a post in the entry topic. DISCUSSION TOPIC A discussion topic starting with [MT]. ENTRY POST The entry post (in the soon to be created entry topic) should contain: Entry name Short summary of the functions. Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. Like the Mini Build contest a composite image is allowed. PRIZES For this contest the prizes aren't sponsored by TLG, so they are a bit different than you are used to. I have come across two Model Team sets, which I will donate to the 1st and 2nd place winners. Both sets are in okay condition, although they haven't fully stood the test of time. Some of the white parts have turned a bit yellowish, but I still think both sets are well worth having in your collection. The 3rd prize winner will receive a Creator set, which I more or less consider a Mini Model Team set. I will probably unpack the set and flatten the box, so I can send it using an envelop. Disclaimer: I will send these sets out myself. When something goes wrong and the set is missing in action, I won't be able to replace it. 1st PRIZE 5580 - Highway Rig 2nd PRIZE 5510 - Off-Road 4x4 3rd PRIZE 31018 - Highway Cruiser
