Install would be easy based on the specs CLAPPIE sent over, but their rendezvous required some secrecy on the technically MANTIS planet. [H] - I still have to link up with my flight programing patrolling over Ertauq, but that'll be easy in this new interface CLAPPIE designed. Then Hombre and I have some wetwork planned on Donwarr. [Z] - Damn John, you know you died on Donwarr? [H] - Yeah... It's something we've got to do. Hombre is a consummate professional, he'll see us through. Location: Forring - F03 Tags: Spaceship The return Bigger things are happening Interlude New units So it is true. John is not dead. Well he is in body, but not in mind. This morning he contacted Zaael, he needs legs. If it was anyone else contacting him, he would have laughed at this request. It was not anyone else however, so Zaael started designing. Now the design was done and he had to pick up the needed parts, before setting course to Forring. Picking up parts was also the perfect cover. As per John's request this mission and meeting was to be covert and kept a secret at all costs. For this occasion Zaael was going to fly the new Gemini class. A highly maneuverable spaceship. The adjustable wings allow for a vertical liftoff, swift atmospheric flight and interstellar travel. Asteroid fields are an easy obstacle when flying in this Gemini class ship.

The recent disappearance of an Octan Corp operative by the name of Kathleen Kelly, who was stationed on Forring, was investigated by the Octan Criminial Investigation Department. During the investigation an e-mail came to light. This e-mail together with the rest of the case ended up at senior management. The decision was made to send out 100 Recon Units to all parts of the planet. Their official mission is to find Kathy, but our source tells us their off-the-records-mission is to find and eliminate any alien lifeforms they encounter, because aliens are bad for business. This is yet another report of alien activity on a planet where Octan Corp has settled and of which Octan Corp has always denied the existence of any intelligent alien lifeforms. Beware if you're on Forring and strolling around in the forest. You can encounter one of the many Recon Units. You can recognize such a unit by the recon droid accompanied by a heavily armed Octan soldier on a speeder. On to MANTIS news... there is no news, which in itself is news. MANTIS' recent activities are scarce. One can only imagine they found a new galaxy. I am sure Kawashita and Octan spies are on the case. Greater Drigo was finally taken by Kawashita. My new job is awesome, Octan is the best! This job is the best in the galaxy, I am really cut out for this. I like the solitary feel this gives. On your own on a strange planet, you know I like being alone. This is me on my Octan Corp Light Transport Speeder! The selfie drone you and dad gave me comes in really handy! xD Don't get me wrong, I like my colleagues, but truth be told, I like being alone better. At least so I thought. Mom... I am in love! <3 Since two weeks I am assigned to Forring. I am responsible for getting light equipment and supplies from the mayor Awesomnium foundry to the mines and vice versa. The route takes me through a dense forest. And this is were I met him, I almost ran him over when he crossed my path. He lives here!! On Forring, can you believe that?!? I thought we were alone here, hee hee. Mom he is beautiful and sweet and strong and awesome. <3<3 I think you will like him. I don't have a picture of him yet. Each team is build up by a couple of standard units. Then each planet has specific units fit for the planet they are peacekeeping. On Forring the specific unit is a GW3.01. This unit is a swift walker equipped by a stun ray and an EMP pulser to incapacitate any hostile unit in the blink of an eye.

At last I have you in my grasp... - Remember Sebastian, If you want to be a part of this organization, you have to be more ominous and use lots of spidery terminology. - Oh right. I want to make you suffer like how you made me suffer under the rubble of that base on Jurrin 2. The Zoids had abandoned me and left me for dead. Luckily for me, Spider found me and rehabilitated me into what you see today. They truly appreciate my genius unlike those fools at Octan. - So Spider wanted you to build Hybrid soldiers for them to sell to those dust demons? - Not exactly. My work is a little more subtle this time, but it still has the power to topple an entire corporation if I so desired. - So what was in that cryo-tube - It's a mystery. Well that's enough chit chat. lets get started shall we. How about I perform a laser arm amputation. All the cool executives in Andromeda have been loosing limbs. -Computer: Arming laser. How can I help you? -Well, we are delaying your supply runs. We have a new assignment for you. Recently some of our armored scouts have gone missing on patrol. A few days ago one for them sent out a distress call with coordinates before loosing contact. We want you to investigate. -Sounds dangerous. Do we have any idea what took these scouts out? What will I be flying. The only ship on this outpost is the Turkey Mk2. -We don't know what took them out. Your shuttle will be enough. We will be assigning a group of special forces to be working with you. I would like to introduce you to Captain Mira. She will brief you on the mission. - -I'm glad I finally get to meet you Hawk. I have heard much about you. We will have 4 spec ops soldiers with us and we will start our search at these coordinates. Are you ready to go? -I just have a few questions. shouldn't we have a more backup then this. Something capable of taking out scout mechs should have no problem with a few spec ops. Couldn't we just send some unmanned drones? Plus an unarmed shuttle isn't the best choice for a situation like this. What if it is some kind of subterranean super predator? -Right now the mission is to observe and report. Our supplies have been cut a little short recently so this is all the soldiers we can spare at the moment. The CEO himself requested for you to go on this mission. We would never had any drones to do our work for us on Ice planet. - -Dont' worry Hawk. One MANTIS spec. ops. soldier is worth 100 of another corporations soldiers! Location: F03 Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // The Aeolus recovered the Octan ship and were able to retrieve the pilot. Sadly the pilot wasn't in great shape. Physically he seemed relatively ok, but mentally he was struggling. As an executive of Octan I was quite concerned with his health and safety, Dr. Allison seemed interested in him as a test case. Based on logs we determined his name was Joel Zimmerman, however, all he would say is "Can you hear the screams?" The Farr-tes said it seemed likely that he had developed a minor case of Spontaneous Space Madness. They said that with some sedation and rest he would most likely be fine. Luckily they had human medical knowledge and a facility on planet that could help him. We have already been fortunate to have an alliance with them! Extra Pics:

Location: F03 Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying Ok, but... just explain it to me one more time... Unbelievable! This plan is like spying 101, I don't understand how you're not getting it. I've hacked Octan's computers to trick them into thinking they’ve detected a prisoner transport. They’re going to come after you thinking they’re rescuing one of their guys. Right… Redsyn here is one of our best drivers – he’ll lead them on a merry chase but will eventually let you be ‘rescued’. By using the tracking device we implanted in you we’ll find out where their base is when they take you back there. Simple! Uh… ok, I think I understand now. But why not use an actual Octan prisoner? I have… other uses… for the real prisoners. Unless you’d like to trade places with them? No sir! I thought not… But won’t they realise I’m not actually from Octan? No, they’ll never suspect it. I thought you said this was obvious, like spying 101… Don’t worry, our forces will show up well before Octan has time to find you out. This plan is foolproof! Wait… To be continued! Location: Above Forring Bzzt-Start recording: Alright, this is the radio log of Agent G, M.A.N.T.I.S. Explorer. The time is 16:27, and I and a crew of M.A.N.T.I.S. operatives have taken the Octan spaceship R-ABBIT flying over Forring. Currently checking the ship for any more Octan personnel. Almost over, just the cargo storage rooms are left. Wait. Someone's over there, running! Damn, went down one of the side passages... HA! Got you n- A rabbit, a white rabbit wearing a red vest? I must have eaten a bad larvae in the cafeteria! Ah, lost it again, wait no, there it is! That door leads to the storage rooms, and that's the only door, got you now! To be continued... It's from Wick, WICK! Is he back? Z answers the call and after some welcome backs and some chatting Wick tells him he found a beacon which needs fixing and new programming. Wick thinks it's just the task for Zaael. Having accepted this task Z sets out to the coordinates Wick gave him. Skimming over the beautiful grass lands of Forring on his OC.MQ2 Zaael closes in on his target. Extra pics:

Planet: F03, Forring Tags: Science, Civil (the structures are not militant) "Log Date 008. This is Dr. Danielle Long. Log Dates 005, and 006 are missing from my personal Log. I worry that this data corruption may be due to the new chip I have been using since the temporal fluctuation incident. I will be sure to have this fixed upon my return to the Axle, which is scheduled for tomorrow: Desembrinali 23. Furthermore, I suspect there has been some forms of sabotage to my personal Octancorp temporary habitation pod. I noticed this morning that 2 months worth of rations had gone missing, along with several other inexplicable differences to the pod that make me believe someone had been inside it... either that or I've been sleepwalking, a noted side-effect of the BonNuit ™ sleeping pill... but that doesn't explain the missing rations... nor, more importantly, does that explain the lack of communication I have with the Axle. I've never gone even a day without coordinating with the Axle... and now I find that my communications device is unable to reach them. Surely this will be straightened out when I return to the Axle tomorrow. This bizarre morning has only continued to become more and more disconcerting. The Unidentified Artifact I was deployed to investigate deems to have... already been somewhat escavated. There are clear signs of very recent work on the Alien structure. All these signs lead me to believe I am not the only one down here interested in this artifact. Perhaps Mantis?... but they have no presence on this planet. I, a woman of science, must admit, I find these turns of event somewhat... Eerie. But I must not let sentiment get in the way of my work. I will have my drone, who's memory banks seem to have been wiped clean last night, investigate the recent cave in that appears to be blocking further access to the tunnels that comprise this structure. When originally reported, just over a week ago, it was mentioned that these tunnels seemed to lead far far underground. I wonder what could have caused the tunnel's collapse... and what is causing the dull throbbing pain on the back of my head. Dr. Long out." Better pictures are up. Location: F03 Forring Tags: Science, Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // I found myself utilizing the data we gathered last week to try and put our theories into practice. It seemed a little weird that as the currently highest ranking scientist in Octan that I would have to do so much field work myself, but our CEO pombe said that we all needed to contribute. He was also excited to have me use one of Bruce Vayne's new space ship designs. I said it looked more like an old Earth railway car but he insisted it was a highly sophisticated piece of machinery. Though I wasn't filled with confidence when pombe said: "After about 7 Alien Annihilators Bruce came up with the idea for this thing!" Surprisingly it seemed to work though and I was able to find some concentrated pockets of Awesomnium. ED-208 was sent ahead to secure a Mantis lab we had discovered while Dr. Allison was utilizing a new speeder design. Given the state of war between Octan and Mantis she was using a more subtle design on the speeder than was typical. It was a very fast and nimble layout, so I told her since ED-208 was not with her and the speeder being unarmed that she should keep the throttle open just in case. I guess she likes going fast because she said the vibrations from the speed were exhilirating. The Mantis lab seemed to be an experimental lab designed to enhance plant life with various Awesomnium soil and water. They also appeared to be using various lighting sources to try and maximize growth. CEO pombe instructed me that he had numerous uses for this technology and that he hoped we could acquire any scientific advancements and that any gains that had been discovered should be reported to him personally. Immediately. I'm not sure why, but he said Bruce Vayne would be very interested also and that he and Bruce would need a lot of Oreos and Doritos. I guess they were going to be trying some new recipe because he said there would be a lot of baking happening. Extra Pics:

Location: F03 Forring Tags: Science, Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // After last week's efforts to better refine our abilities to find Awesomnium we received orders to head over to Forring to assist in the search for Awesomnium there. I obtained one of our "area defense" space drones and removed all of the missiles and other weaponry. I swapped in side scan radar, a front mounted ground penetrating radar and other scanning equipment. These drones typically operate just outside the atmosphere in space waiting for targets, so having it operate at that altitude and scanning for signs of Awesomnium wasn't going to be a problem. Dr. Allison and I headed out to a small Octan building on the planet where we could best analyze data and alter the flight path of the drone. She had some new mathematical models she wanted to try out to see if they would be more efficient in finding metals. I was certainly happy to have the assistance as the corporation can use all the help it can get in our current conflict with the warriors of MANTIS. Given our state of affairs with them and that Forring is a MANTIS controlled planet I was happy that ED-208 was available to accompany us to the planet's surface. I guess he had properly helped Sue with some sort of "back door adjustment" and she needed several days of rest. I'm not sure what they were adjusting the back door to, but it must have required a lot of work if Sue needed a few days to recover! ED-208 had found a MANTIS mech on Jurin II last week and we had brought it with us. He was in the process of getting it in proper working order and upgrading it when we had to ship out. It wasn't quite done, but it was fully functional and armed. I didn't expect we would encounter heavy resistance since we were going to a remote Octan base, but having some firepower was a relief. He had managed to remove a lot of the human controls and better integrate it with his own robotic form to make the responsiveness much better. It was a marvel to see it operate as an extension of his own body! Hopefully Dr. Allison's models prove beneficial and we are able to refine our capabilities to find Awesomnium. It was good to be back working with drones again as that is my primary speciality. I think that Dr. Allison is even becoming a bit more comfortable in the field now, though she did seem to want me to go into the Octan building with her while ED-208 maintained watch. She said she had something to show me, but I told her that we would lose the signal to the drone from inside the building and that she should bring it out to me and show me outside. I guess it wasn't anything that important as she said: "Ugh, never mind. I should just show ED-208 like Sue!" Extra Pics: ED-208's mech has legs that swing and the part below the knee can twist 360. My first real attempt at a minifig scale mech. Also the gun traverses and can point up and down. The whole thing managed to be pretty easy to balance despite making it up as I went.

Location: Forrin - F03 Tags: Land Vehicle, Engineering Previously: - The Return Zaael found John Hannibal at the secret hideout of the Jurinians. The CEO was occupied trying on dresses, so John took the responsibility to welcome Zaael back. John and Z shook hands and John brought Z up to speed about the recent developments, strategic plans and other important, classified, information. John told Z Octan was planning something on Forring for which a lot of mechs are going to be needed. Zaael's most pressing task was to scavenge Jurin II for useful mech parts and take them to Forring to build mechs for the other Octan members. After their meeting John set course to Forring and Zaael made his way back to his shuttle where he had the perfect speeder for this scavenge hunt: The OC.tr0m, a heavy duty speeder. After collecting loads of useful parts and loading up the shuttle Zaael set course to Forring. Having arrived there Z took his speeder and made his way to the Octan base on F03. There he unloaded the speeder and started building the first mechs for the battle to come.
