  1. Hi, after some time I am back with new project worth sharing even in WIP state. After building my 8x8 Tatra (that was used for truck trial competition), I started building smaller scale version of it's chassis. It went good, but then I got stuck for approximately half a year with front and rear axles without central section on motor selection and bilding steam airship (see pirate forum for more details) . The chassis was laying under other projects and I slowly started daydreaming about building new and better firetruck. Well, first red brick was placed on the finisged chassis on the end of November 2023. Then during the xmas holiday I built the cab, and then foind out I do not know where to aim this project. I was thinking about firetruck with some kind of bucket arm or crane, or some heavy duty tow truck, but the idea of firetruck with working water gun was still there. So I have scratched sketchy outriggers that needed 3d printed wormgear (other thread direction than the original) and started building basically the airport crash tender without the typical roundy cabin... Well, enough stories. The MOC needs 3 C+ HUBs so far to power all functiobs, 6x6 drive with central diff lock, fully articated front and top watergun arm, and function switch gearbox. I plan to build it with full lights and pybricks control. Even it has more than 2kg so far, it is still a decent offroader. For a wjile was I considering building it all neon yellow, but then I checked the parts availability. Maybe next time. :D More info will come soon. More photos: https://bricksafe.com/pages/horcikdesigns/tatra-chassis-with-rc-firetruck Updates will first appear on my IG profile (horcikdesigns). Front mask with cabin: Mechanical controls of the front water gun (rotation and elevation) With 3d printed custom 7x3(4) frame the worm gear can go through and help rise the arm. Probably will try to use linear actuators in next iteration, as this adds too much friction and stress to bricks. Do you have some ideas how to achieve it? So, what do you think? Does it make sense? :D
  2. Hello! This is my new creation - GAZ 66 firetruck model! Basically, it is a Soviet water tank that is still used in Russia. It has several functions and features: driving (4X4 drivetrain with blocked differentials, Buggy motor for propulsion), steering (Servo motor), working front lights, working beacon lights, working live axle suspension on both sides, tilt cab with a decorative fake V8 engine underneath it, detailed cab interior, openable doors with rubber band locks, openable water tank's compartments with some details like a firehose, openable water tank's top and some custom stickers. All electric functions are powered and controlled with BuWizz. The chassis itself (without the bodework) worked really well, this is my first good try on 4X4 live axle suspension, but the sinal model has some problems because of the weight (almost 3 kg). The suspension isn't strong enough, so it leans on the sides a bit, soI think it needs some bigger dampers, as I don't quite want to use several dumpers on each wheel. One BuWizz is also not enough, because it is struggling to control that much electric functions at once with such weight. Anyways, it is pretty nice to drive. :) VIdeo link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHhpBez6m0Y Photoes: Thank you!

    [MOC] Fire truck

Few days ago I discovered lots of my old concepts created in Lego Digital Designer. Fortunately they are working fine in Studio. I only need to make some adjustments. I am proud to introduce to you my first fire truck concept. 5. Hey everyone, been a member here for a few weeks, but haven't posted too much and would like to get involved in this forum a little more. I'm sure the same as many people, I have been building Legos since I was a little kid. I tend to build whatever I'm feeling like at the moment, but I usually stick to building fire apparatus since it's what I feel most comfortable with. Although, I would like to get into architecture and building design since I want to start up a city again and build some fire stations again. This is my website for me Lego Fire Department: A bulk of my creations can be found under apparatus. http://whvfd.weebly.com/ In real life I'm a volunteer firefighter and a full-time 911 dispatcher. If you ever have any questions feel free to contact me! Thanks!

    MOC: Rosenbauer Panther

So I guess I'll finally post one of my MOCs after lurking the site long enough. I have made a couple of airport tenders ever since LEGO released that little one years ago, but was never satisfied with them. I have, for the longest time wanted to make a Rosenbauer Panther because that is probably the most amazing Firetruck, ever. I kinda liked that LEGO finally gave us a better airport tender this last vehicle release, but I haven't bought one and found it still lacking. I finally, finally, put one together and I got something I both hate and love. My biggest drive when making models is playability. I want to make something great, but still be minifigure scale and have playability like a released set. This MOC has that, but I could not get it small enough for "proper" minifig scale. EDIT: Album View Real Truck This is also my first ever 8-stud wide MOC. I tried designing a 6-stud one, but I could not get enough detail in there. It felt wrong for such a beefy truck, plus the latest LEGO is 8-wide, so meh. This a rear shot: The big yellow slope piece doesn't really belong there, but I have absolutely nowhere else to use that piece (because of the sticker) so it's just there: The cabin doors open but in reverse: There is equipment storage on both sides and space for more behind the crew. There is also an auxiliary hose that I forgot to get a good shot of. Not all space is being used because most of my equipment is in my SAR Firetruck so I have to get more for this one. This is still a WIP, I guess: The entire cabin windscreen lifts for easy access to the crew and equipment space behind. Just in case, it also removes entirely. Anyway. There are lots of awesome builders in the site, so if anyone has some tips to improve it or fix it, let me know. When I build I tend to just stick pieces together with little to no planning (Except for my other Firetruck chasis which I prototyped in LDD First). This tends to leave my models really messy, or with poor piece placing at the end. I'll come back and revise this truck so feedback is welcome. There are some pieces that I didn't have in the right color so those will get update too. ~Cheers
  7. Hey there, been browsing this forum for a lonnnnnnng time now - - posting every now and then Thought I'd give LDD a try, normally I freestyle build everything, and there are two large fire/rescue projects I've been working on a for a long time now (Which I won't post until they are done) But I don't mind sharing my progress with the stuff I'm trying out in LDD As such, here is an Oshkosh 8x8(x8) Tactical Fire Fighting Truck (IN PROGRESS!) The real truck doesn't have 8 wheel steering, however I decided to keep all the axle modules the same, and it will be that much more awesome The 15L crossed black lift arms on the wheels are a moc up of the size of the third party tires I'm going to put on this beast. It will have a water pump, bumper nozzle, roof nozzle, all remotely controlled 1L Motor for each axle (4 total, on one V2 receiver with dedicated battery pack) Servo for steering RC Buggy motor for water pump (x8 pumps) 1M motor for each nozzle rotation 1M for each nozzle elevation (Nozzle operation might be done with a fancy gear box to reduce amount of motors) Additional batter pack for steering, water pump and nozzles
