Suit (Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nanosuit) (Mk.III) is a powered suit of armor, designed for use in both the deep-sea and space - capable of affording protection to a pilot whilst maintaining maximum dexterity with hydraulic limbs and a reinforced canopy. It is however not directly worn - rather it is a large frame that can be piloted in a seated position. Unlike the other vehicles in Subnautica, the Prawn Suit walks along the ocean floor, only using thrusters to move vertically. Firstly, I'm not that type of guy who purchases multiple sets however the '21109 - Exo-Suit' was one of them along with '70816 - Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP' which I got two of (one to display and one for parts.) Both sets got me into designing MOC's so they have a very special place in my heart. I managed to purchase three copies of the Exo-Suit: one for personal collection with a signed box by Legoloverman andlego_nabii (flic.kr/p/pWVcdC), one I used for parts to build my own Neo-Classic Space MOC's and I still had one sealed. (At the time it was another copy for a parts pack and the cool Minifigures.) I've been questioning myself for a while now with what to do with the extra copy I own. Yesterday I set myself a task to build an alternative model only using pieces from ‘21009 - Exo-Suit.' inspired by the LEGO Movie (2014) 2-in-1 sets. This model contains about 80% of the pieces from that set. It's inspired by the 'Turtle' included with '21109 - Exo-Suit' but it's a larger version of the turtle that can be piloted by a Minifigure,' so essentially it's a Turtle Exo-Suit but I prefer to call it 'Turtle XL.' An unnamed planet, unless the Swarm gives names to their worlds. Either way, the remains of Galaxy Patrol Troop 783 do not know the name of the world on which they will earn their Grand-Admirals' Stars. Their ranks thinned by the Swarm until there were only three left, The 783 staged their last stand behind the meager barricades provided by the airfoils of their downed dropship. The 783 attribute their survival entirely to the presence of an experimental Galactic-Class Combat Exo-Suit on their mission. Trooper Phillips, who piloted the suit, attributed his record-setting number of combat kills to its agility and incredibly aggressive weapon loadout. "The railgun was a lifesaver. Those plasma pellets could slam through a bug's carapace like it was a wet piece of toilet paper. When I took down the Queen who attacked us near the end, it was emptying the railgun between her eyes that finally got her to stop crawling for good," Phillips recounted. "And that B.R.O.A.D. Sword! They need to start shipping those out to every exo-suit across the galaxy, stat," Phillips continued. "It thinned out troops like nobody's business." (The Sword in question is an experimental weapon. An iron ball is anchored to a super-thin carbon nanotube filament, and then suspended in midair by the projection of super-strong magnetic fields from the Sword's bulky hilt. This draws the nanotube filament incredibly taut, allowing it to slice through most materials with easy. When in use, the Sword tends to glow orange due to the inductive heat generated by the magnetic fields.) "Of course, Luiz played a critical role as air support. He was my eye in the sky. And Kovacs picked up any strays that got by me so that our distress beacon wouldn't get destroyed before help arrived." The three survivors will be commended at a ceremony on Terra next week. Some more pictures of the suit: It can directly hold a Patrol figure! Troopers, meanwhile, have to already be wearing a Gunpack (standard equipment for the Heavy in most squads) in order to slot into the exo-suit. The attachment point on the rear of the Exo-suit can have a variety of additional hardware mounted on it. Engineers are currently trying to give it a jetpack, but for now the standard module is an S-14 Survival Pack. The pack holds two holdout guns should the suit ever run out of power or ammo, along with a buzzsaw for cutting teammates out of wreckage, an antenna to maintain connection with orbiting ships, and a tempered titanium sword as a weapon of last resort. The box on the bottom of the pack further holds a number of tools for suit repair, a water purifier, and enough nutrient bricks to sustain a troop of five for two weeks while waiting for help to arrive. After this great success, be on the lookout for the Galactic-Class exo-suit coming to an active front near your planet! (Notes on the model: it has 12 points of articulation with 18 degrees of freedom (14 of those in the legs!) and is ~140 pieces. Not counting the antenna, it stands around 10 cm tall)

An Exo-Suit made for the Galaxy Patrol minifig using only parts from the Glowkies (Series 4 - Mixels): Globert (41533), Vampos (41534) and Boogly (41535). I think it turned out pretty great! I even managed to built a slightly enclosed cockpit. The cockpit also features a neural link for the pilot to control the exo-suit! :D I also used the glow-in-the-dark eyeball head to give my Galaxy Patrol mini a glowing visor. :) More pics:

I came up with this as a quick spin-off of my Friday Power Hour design for the "Dress My Exo-Suit" contest. A Marine vehicle of the late 21st century named after the famed general and later president known for his leadership during the African Crisis. Main shot: Back view: Cockpit: And the little dude I threw together for the project: This uses the unmodified basic frame of the exo-suit as provided by the contest and adds armor plating, sensors, and comfortably fits a crew of one specially-trained warrant officer. I'll be posting more views as well as the actual contest entry (modified to fit a classic theme) tomorrow.

To celebrate the coming release of the LEGO® Ideas Exo Suit by Peter Reid, The LEGO Group is teaming up with Eurobricks and we’re going turtle crazy! We invite you to build the coolest tiny turtle you can and submit it to our Turtle Competition! You can win a signed copy of the Exo Suit, a very cool Exo Suit T-shirt or maybe your turtle will be on an exclusive turtle poster that will be given only to those whose turtles are included or who attend the fan event at Skærbæk in September. Contest Rules The contest is open to all users 18 years and older holding a Eurobricks account. To submit an entry: Entrants must design and build a turtle (the creature). The turtle may be generic or based on any non-licensed LEGO theme. Additionally, it must fit onto an 8x8 stud square with no overhang. Your turtle must be photographed on plain white background. (please do not photograph the turtle on the base, the 8x8 base is just a size guideline). Multiple entries are allowed. Post each entry in a single post in the Entry Thread. Only one picture is allowed per entry, but you may link to other pictures (eg. on flickr). Text background to accompany your entry is allowed. Only official, unmodified LEGO® parts may be used: no clone brands or customs please. No decals are allowed, official or custom. No digital entries please. The contest begins July 15, 2014 at 15:00 Central European Time. The competition is open for submissions until August 10, 2014 at 15:00 CET. Entries submitted to Eurobricks after this date and time will not be accepted into the contest.
