    GALAXY DROPSHIP, NEO CLASSIC SPACE

Hello. The release of the new Galaxy Explorer and the new Blacktron Invader proves Lego Group is open to design new versions of 80s space sets. This is our best option for a second Classic Space Lego Ideas set. The Galaxy Dropship. It combines all the features of the Galaxy Explorer and Galaxy Commander, plus many others in a single base. The project already has reached more than 5400 support votes and it has a bit less than a year to reach its goal. This project was designed by Giorgio Chronas. Please support it and his other Lego Designs at Lego Ideas. Link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bcc52725-df48-4522-aeee-a34dba13889a Please support the return of Classic Space.

    Ice Planet 2002 Hologram

Yes I know this might seem a little odd, although I suppose it fits in with the Sci Fi part of the forum and it is hopefully interesting information to do with the Ice Planet line from way back when. Its probably nothing huge but I couldn't really find anything else about it so here goes. A few days ago I purchased a NIB 6973 Deep Freeze Defender from eBay to add to the small collection of new unused old sets that I was most fond of which came today. When I purchased it I noticed it had a label on it saying 'Free Hologram Inside,' and since once of the seals had come off that gave me an excuse to at least have a peak inside before I carefully put everything back and store/admire it. Along with the usual 1993 catalog, service leaflet and even a poster I found the hologram mentioned. It is only palm of your hand sized, but it's cool nonetheless. I have attached some pictures, sorry it is hard to show it off well. It is basically a picture of Commander Cold with the cool icy background and the stars/sky design Lego did back then. This is definitely new to me, most of the sets I owned for display including this one from when I was mostly into Lego before were from the 90s era and before and I've not seen this in them before, perhaps they were a special freebie that were on a certain few. Makes me wonder if there are any other similar things like this from sets at the time now. I do know that some 6990 boxes came with a free space background sheet.

[PURIST FIG] Commander Cody Phase II

INFO: Commander Cody has always been my favorite character of the Clone Wars Era despite his betrayal of his Jedi master, General Kenobi. I decided that, since I had a few 212th battalion figures around, to try to make as accurate of a phase 2 Cody as possible. This is the result. PARTS: -The main body is that of the Clone Wars Commander Cody. -The legs are of the 212th Airborne Trooper. -The helmet is from the 212th Trooper. -The head is from Boba Fett. -The backpack is from a First Order Stormtrooper polybag. -The hair is a military-style black haircut. -The rifle is composed of a blaster rifle and a black connector piece. -The Palpatine hologram is from the Republic Frigate. The binoculars are macro-binoculars. PICTURE:
  4. Hi Eurobricks and swashbucklers. I haven't posted much of my own making in recent years, simply because well.. let's just say I'm a bit lazy. Sorry! Back in 2015-2016 when I was 15 -16 years old (I know, easy to remember) I started messing around a bit with a custom built ship and No. 6721 "Imperial Flagship" (which was one of the last second hand set I bought). It was also at that time I discovered the Aubrey-Maturin novels, and began devouring them in a way you don't expect from someone my age. I also found out a movie adaption was made, containing various elements from the novels. I watched it, and again, and again, and I became a bit obsessed with the story and historical accuracy. And I was (and still am) a lego fan. So 1+1 is 2, ey? I grabbed a green robe and tried recreating a scene! Thanks to a friend who helped me with final cut pro and my mother for sewing the sails, I am very glad I can present to you a movie I should've released three years ago! Here's something I had much fun working on, with vague images, laughable special effects and the occasional video thrown in. Please enjoy. I hope I inspire someone to make a perfect version of this. Kind regards, Captain Edward, or on youtube: Jiskpirate P.S. Be sure to check out my older animations on my channel, with some being reasonably successful, although not too good. For me, my channel is one big plaza of nostalgia.

    Sceneries

Heyho, the forums are full of beautiful Lego ship pictures, but mostly just the ship out of different views or details like rigging or the interior. What I miss a little bit is scenery, like just marine life, like reading of the Articles of War, midshipmen learning how to use the sextant. There are wonderful frigates yet; a few even called the H.M.S Surprise, so why not rebuild some scenes from Master and Commander. I would appreciate some pictures. Wellesley
  6. Hello everyone. Once again, I present to you my second entry for the Eurobricks Revenge Of The Sith Community Build, my first being the Jedi Temple. My entry is a mosaic of my favourite clone commander, Commander Gree; one of the not-so-many clone troopers to fail at executing Order 66, allowing Jedi Master Yoda to escape and flee Kashyyyk. A version without the part outlines and background... You may remember some other similar mosaics that I posted here a while ago of Phase I clone commanders. This new mosaic is twice the size and comprises of 5847 1x1 tiles... I just this would be another simple entry to the community build that's quite different to the other entries posted so far.
