  1. The journey of Parzival Chapter II, part II The dream Previous Chapter: Chapter II, Part I - Desert Daylight The sun was setting and the sky was orange fading to purple. Z and his fellows walked with their heads bent along a small path with parts of desert and parts bushes and trees. The heat was still intense and they were all tired after a long day in the sun. It was time to find a place to camp for the night. Z saw what appeared to be abandoned buildings inside a large grove of trees and shrubs some distance from the road. Maybe an abandoned farm or similar. It was very dense shrubbery and many shady trees. "- We should set up a camp soon. We all have to rest. There is an old farm over there. Maybe we can find shelter and maybe an old well or something. At least it’s a bit from the path." Z said "- That sounds like a good idea. My legs ache" said Hooves They left the path and went into the bushes. The buildings were very overgrown with trees and shrubs. It was certainly a long time since they were abandoned. "- There is a glade here with the remains of a campfire. Here we should be able to set up camp. The bushes should give us good protection from passers-by." Hammer said. "- Hooves and I will go and see if we can find something in the abandoned houses. Then we look for firewood." Left-Eye said They set up camp and the sun went down fast. They ate a small meal and lay down to sleep. Left-eye took the first watch for the night. It had been a long warm day and they all soon fell asleep Z heard a whispering voice and opened his eyes. He didn't quite understand what the voice had said, so he looked around. He was standing in a lush forest with a bow in his hands. It felt like a summer dawn. Beside Z a man stood, he had horns just as Hooves. And behind Z there were two men, one heavily armed knight with a dragon on his breastplate and an archer with a hood and mask over his head. They were all dressed in dark green clothes. It all felt a bit weird and Z felt a bit fuzzy in the head. He noticed that he was no longer a man, just a small boy. He also felt a big pressure inside and a tingling adrenaline sensation in the body. The man beside in whispered again and it was the same voice: "- My lord, you have to focus! Relax your shoulders and aim. Concentrate on the animal and try to hear it. Feel it's heartbeat." Z aimed at the deer by the water. It hadn't noticed it yet. It was drinking water and having a look around. It looked peaceful. The sounds of the forest got more zoomed out and he could hear his heartbeats pounding in the ears. But it felt strange. Was it his or the deers heartbeat he heard? He could almost see the pulse in the deer's body that was in the same rhythm as the sound in his ears. "- When you have it in sight, take a deep breath. Feel the animal's heartbeat so you can aim directly at his heart. You must hit the heart directly so that the animal doesn't suffer." Z felt the animal now. He could hear what the deer heard and feel the wind in its horns. Z felt that the deer was at peace with nature and that it wasn't stressed at all. He took a deep breath and aimed straight at the heart of the dear. He was just about to let go of the bow string when he heard a strange voice in his head. "- Kraaah! Walker must wake! Hurry!" Z blinked and tried not to lose his focus. And when he looked up at the deer again he saw a strange colourful bird in his sight. What was this? So strange... "- Wake! Bad man come! The bird said to him Z sat straight up and looked around. He was in the camp with the others again. Was it a dream? Or what was that? Was it a memory? His head was blurred. "- Hurry! Wake up!" Z heard in his head again. And now he recognized the voice from the crow. He was sitting in the palmtree above waving his wings in the air. Then he heard whispering voices from the bushes: "- It's them. Take them all out before they wake. But don't hurt the one with the necklace. Tie him up. We have to bring him back to the boss" Z started to wake the others and tell them to get up and get their weapons. But only a few of them had the time to get up before the attack began. Five dark figures came out of the bush. Each had a black shield with an eye on it and various weapons in full swing. Z, Hammer and Pointy were first on their feet and could meet the attackers. Z had a sword he had received from Tabib in Mophet. He used it to parry a blow from one of the attackers. Hammer drew his sword and Pointy drew her knife and bow. Together they managed to ward off the first attack. Meanwhile, Left-Eye, Hooves and Right-Eye woke up and managed to get their weapons. A wild battle broke out in the clearing and pretty soon they discovered that the attackers were better equipped and much faster than them and they quickly ended up in an inferior position. One of the attackers knocked the sword out of Z's hand and he lost his balance and fell backwards. When the attacker jumped on Z and was about to stab the sword in his stomach, Z panicked and felt the time almost slow down. Before the attacker hit Z with the sword, Z felt a strong force accumulate in his chest. He pushed his hands forward while instinctively shouting something loud that he himself did not understand. The words just flowed out of him. The attacker stopped in the air and was then quickly pushed backwards by a pressure wave that came out of Z's hands. The attacker flew back into the bushes. Z quickly got to his feet and stood amazed as he felt a force gather in his body and the time slowed down. He felt a tingeling feeling in his legs as he drew power from the. He felt a strong connection to the ground and all the surrounding trees and plants, almost as if they were an extension of their own senses. The attacker came out of the bush for a new attack. In Z's mind a word came up as written by a golden pen. He held out his hands to the opponent and uttered the words. Immediately he felt how meandering roots rose from the ground and meandered around the opponent. He felt as if he was grabbing the opponent himself. He lifted the opponent into the air while squeezing him with the roots until the opponent was slowly suffocated. Hooves fought with one of the attackers with his long staff. And like Z, he felt a force build up in him the more he felt that the striker was superior in speed and tactics. And when the attacker managed to get past Hoove's defense and chop against his head, Hooves put out his hand against the attacker. At the same time, flames of fire flowed out of his fingertips and quickly embraced the attacker. The man screamed in pain when he was burned to death. While Z and Hooves fought with their newfound abilities, the rest of the crew managed to overpower the attackers and kill them all but one. The battle was over as soon as it started. Everyone stood tired and breathless in the clearing. Hammer had captured the last survivor and stood with his sword against his throat. The others hurried to his side. "- Who are you and why did you attack us?" Hammer shouted at the man. The man turned a little and laughed with the sword to his throat. "- Answer me!" Shouted Hammer Pointy came forward and put his hand on Hammer's shoulder and asked him to calm down a bit. "- It is best that you answer him, otherwise he will cut you apart like a pig," Left-Eye hissed with a wicked grin. "- You will never get anything out of me or anyone in my brotherhood" the man laughed. Before anyone reacted, his hand slid inside the sleeve of his tunic and pulled out a small narrow dagger with a blackened blade. He quickly pushed it into his own throat while having a grin on his lips. Hammer tried to stop him but it was too late. The man quickly began to gargle and his eyes turned inward and his whites of eyes were visible. A couple of strong tremors went through his body, but then he became stiff as a stick. They all backed away from the body in disgust. "- Who can do that to himself?" Said Pointy in disgust. "- I would say, only a true fanatic," Right-Eye said resignedly. "- Quick now, we have to gather our things quickly and get out of here before more come," Z said. They quickly gathered their things and moved silently away in the thickets. Next part...

    Ambush

Ambush by Arfelan, en Flickr This is a build for Brickscalibur for the Rogues and Outlaws category. It depicts some outlaw troops ready to strike a massive blow at the unsuspecting Lion column in the forest. Thanks for watching.
  4. Something is coming by Arfelan Nest, en Flickr Battle of the Teutoburg Forest Between 6 and 9 CE, the Romans were forced to move eight of eleven legions present in Germania, leaving Varus with only three legions to face the Germans. This represented the perfect opportunity for Arminius to defeat Varus. While Varus was on his way from his summer camp west of the River Weser to winter headquarters near the Rhine, he heard reports of a local rebellion, reports which had been fabricated by Arminius. Varus decided to quell this uprising immediately, expediting his response by taking a detour through territory that was unfamiliar to the Romans. Arminius, who accompanied the legions, directed him along a route that would facilitate an ambush. "Varus give me back my legions" The title refers to Emperor Augustus' alleged words in the aftermath of the battle, in which he was so devastated by the annihilation of three Roman legions that he spent the next several weeks in a stupor, repeating the phrase "Give me back my legions!" Varus's forces included his three legions (Legio XVII, Legio XVIII and Legio XIX), six cohorts of auxiliary troops and three squadrons of cavalry. Most of these lacked combat experience, both with regard to Germanic fighters, and under the prevalent local conditions. The Roman forces were not marching in combat formation

  6. This is my entry for Challenge II - Defending Yer Claims, category B. This event took place during the initial wave of exploration in New Terra, before Oleon established a permanent presence on the island. Most revered chieftain, there have been trespassers on our sacred island! They came from one of those huge canoes with sails big like the clouds in the sky. We met a band of their warriors in the tall forest and they were clothed in blood! They were also carrying magical blowpipes which were bellowing lightning and smoke at us. Our brave warriors were at first stricken with fear of the magic, but when we saw that they could die like any man and that their blowpipes were not as fast as ours we rallied under the ancestral cries of war and defeated the invaders. Their companions paddled back in their small canoe to their big canoe with sails like clouds. The abomination left through the mists for other waters. May the Ancestors help us to keep our waters and this sacred island safe from more of these filthy invaders! Probably Oleon’s endeavour of pacifying Île de Zeus will not be without bloodshed either... The whole scene Closing in on the enemy Brave warriors Reload! Reload! I see them! They can't hide in those blood-stained clothes! My poisonous arrow hit it's mark. Another is ready! I tried to play a bit with more direct off-camera flash to simulate sunlight, do you like it?

    [MOC] Ithilien Ranger Ambush

I'd like to present to you my newest creation, based on the scene from TTT where Faramir's Rangers of Ithilien ambush the forthcoming Men of Harad, as Frodo, Sam and Gollum are watching from a distance. (The latter three not included in the scene) "In order to protect the road from Minas Morgul to Osgiliath from possible attacks, Faramir has sent his Rangers of Ithilien to await the forthcoming Haradrim on the road to ambush them as soon as they are in sight. The fist group of Men of Harad is coming closer and closer, and as they approach the rangers, the first strike is received by the enemy..." __________________________________________________________________________________ This MOC can also be found on Flickr and MOCpages. Enjoy, C&C is welcome as always. It would also help me if you could tell me which of the versions of these pictures you like best, the one with a solid white background or the one with the map of Middle-Earth - this will help me pick a definite picture for Flickr.
  8. The Nestlands are very well known for their rocks and vegetation, making it hard to live for its inhabitants. As it is an isolated area, their habits are a bit different than most other people in Kaliphlin. For example they worship birds... The area itself is very dangerous as you never know what way to reach one of the clans is safe. So the heavy equipped knights of Stedor layed down an ambush together with a local Nesltands Clan-member (fleshie, as requested by Gedren). A group of Desert King Warriors are patrolling the area, not aware of what is behind the rocks... For the Republic!! For Stedor!! C&C ofcourse welcome!!

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for viewing, and C&C is always appreciated.
  10. Hello fellow AFOL Few days ago I decided to build something with the content of 21116 Crafting Box. I wanted to follow my "builder instinct" No instructions. I ended up building a sort of bridge. It looked suited for some Fantasy scene. I added few more bricks and I created this little MOC. I know it's not a great one but I had very limited resources for this project. Also this is my first MOC after a very long (about 10 years) absence from the Lego hobby, so any comment, feedback, criticism is highly appreciated. Anyway, here is a background story" for the diorama: "The Elves rule the Kingdom with wisdom and justice, bringing order and peace among the Land. Or so they claim. There are those who consider them invaders forcing their traditions and believes on the subjugated populations. Sometimes it’s hard to discern the hero from the villain, the savior from the conqueror. When doubt and contempt are paired with weapons and powerful magic, it can mean only one thing: war. The number of the insurgents grows each day. Operating clandestinely to avoid the inquisitive scrutiny of the “Open Eye”, one of the most dreaded Elven organizations, they fight to overthrow the current rulers. In a desperate attempt to capture the Elf Queen and force the Monarchy to sign a treaty, the rebels hired the infamous outlaw known as “Golden Terror” and the legendary “Clumsy Ninja”. By skills, bribes and a lot of luck they managed to sneak inside the “Temple of Five Seasons”. Relying on greater numbers the rebels plan to succeed but it won’t be an easy task. The Queen’s guard is one of the most skillful warriors, wielding a weapon that is stuff of legend and the Queen herself is a powerful mage. Who will prevail in this epic confrontation? " You can see more, high resolution, photos on my blog MOC: Protecting the Queen

    An ambush gone wrong

A good scout should always trust his gut feel.. and something felt wrong about this. Zorlek had been watching the traveler deep in sleep under the tree for almost an hour now, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The others were getting impatient, it'd been way too long since they last had fresh meat. Zorlek peered through the leaves again.... "Light armor, and only a wooden staff on top of being soundly asleep. Against 4 orcs. No problems at all." Zorlek tried to convince himself. Still.. Finally, he decided that enough was enough. He took a deep breath, and signaled to the rest to proceed. With caution. Orcs weren't by nature the most stealthy, but as the 4 of them crept slowly towards the traveler, he barely seemed to even stir. Zorlek started to relax a little. There'd be food soon. He adjusted the leaves to get a better view, and watched as the others got within striking distance... And everything exploded. In a blur of movement, with the distinct crunches of a staff striking true, mingling with the roars of pain, confusion and the horrible sound of breaking bones, the traveler burst forth from his slumber. Moving so quickly it seemed like he was everywhere, it was all over in a second, the traveler standing silent a midst the battered bodies of the orcs. Zorlek muffled a cry and prayed that he wouldn't be spotted, all as a warm trickle ran down his leg. It's been a fair while since I've posted anything, been wayyy to busy with real life. Had the urge to do a quick simple build tonight, struggled with inspiration for awhile, but thought I'd just start and see what came to mind. Decided to play around with the idea of someone moving ridiculously quickly (think the flash in old school cartoons), does it work for everyone?. C&Cs are as usual more than welcome.

    [MOC] Ambush on the bridge

Hi all! Here is a gallery of a MOC I've realized in LDD. It's part of a concept set in a fantasy feudal Japan, a setting I played with table-top RPGs some years ago. This is the first of a series, and my first project submitted for LEGO Ideas. A small gallery (more can be found at the LEGO Ideas page).
  13. After many days and nights of trekking through Mitgardia's wilderness, Berelan Gryffen finally reached Avalonia. With a sigh, he stepped over the border into his homeland. His companion and close friend, Crynis Elchafron, followed, looking over her shoulder in case of a surprise attack by the Drow. Their task was simple: capture one of the Drow and learn of the enemy's plans. From the little he knew of the dark elves, they tended to favour vantage points from which to be alerted of an incoming attack. Looking ahead, he saw a hillock rising above the wooded glens, the crumbling ruins of a watchtower atop it. A perfect vantage point. Motioning to Crynis, he drew his sword and quietly began to scale the small hill. Sure enough, the dark shape of a Drow scout was visible behind the wall. The two adventurers took the soldier completely by surprise. As they rushed him he hastily grabbed his spear and leveled it at Berelan's head; just in time the warrior ducked. Knocking the spear out of the scout's hands, Berelan jumped on him and set his sword against the Drow's throat, "Surrender or die." Unbeknownst to them, a pair of Avalonian Elite Rangers silently watched and waited from the nearby undergrowth. They recognised the bearded Mitgardian instantly. An ally- or a mortal foe? Figless: Enjoy

    [MOC] Outland Ruins

"What once was a castle stronghold now lie in ruins as the forest slowly overtakes its stone walls with vines and creepers. Remnants of a battle once fought and lost remain under the shadow of the mighty tree, a grim sight amidst the deceptive calm and peace of the forest. Today, a swordsman has wandered too far away from the path and is now cornered by two territorial hungry beasts. Will he survive, or will he become another one of the fallen men in the ruins of the outlands?" Well, it's been a long time since I've made an MOC, but finally it's here! It took about a day or so from the initial idea to final shots, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I still have to find other ways to build trees though, because this is just lame considering the awesome trees other people have built here The Setting: Close-ups: That's about it then. What do you think about it? Feedback and comments are a thousand times appreciated and welcome Cheers!
  15. Review: Dol Guldur Ambush By Captain Nemo Name: Dol Guldur Ambush Set Number: 79011 Pieces: 217 Price: $19.00 (US), € 19.00 (EU) Ages: 8-14 Minifigures: 3 Theme: The Hobbit Year of Release: December 1st, 2013 Price per Piece: 9.212 Useful Links: Lego S@H Brickset Bricklink Flickr Set of this Review: Here And the quest continues! The Hobbit is back again, (Or is it there and back again?) this time with a new wave for the second Hobbit film, the Desolation of Smaug (Who himself is mysteriously absent in brick form, but that’s another conversation). Anywho, the smallest set of this new wave is 79011 Dol Guldur Ambush. Being both small and incredibly hard to spell correctly, Dol Guldur Ambush is a nice set that itself is constructed as an add-on to the largest set of the wave, Dol Guldur Battle (79014); which fellow Eurobricks member and Review Academy teacher Masked Builder has reviewed here. So is this set worth your time or should you just upgrade to the full Guldur? Let’s find out... Box This set stands out well against the other Hobbit and Lord of the Rings sets on the shelves (And not because Toys R Us carelessly stacked them atop the other sets, literally, like laying on top of them), because of its new boarder color. Mountain Blue is the new Mordor Grey apparently. The colors work well and give the impression that this is an evolving journey. In fact, in the right hand corner, there is the image of dwarves making a steady climb to the mountain tops. The US version of the box, seen here, features all of the information that clutters the left side, including ages, set number, name, etc. It also shows the character box, which has our three minifigures inside. Across the front of the box we also see the set in all its Light Bley and Dark Bley glory. The back of the box features a far more interesting, dynamic, action view of the set showing all the figures, their weapons, the catapult, and notably an image that shows that you can connect this set to the larger Dol Guldur Battle set, to form some kind of mega set, or something. It’s similar to Helms Deep and the Uruk Hai Battle sets from the first wave of LotR. Also notice the human hand, which is not included in this set. Opening the Box Finally getting to something more interesting, we open the box to find two bags that are not numbered and a seriously folded instruction manual. Clearly, the only rational thing to do is instantly open the bags and mix all the pieces together. Note, aside from a third small bag, inside the large one; all the pieces are loose, including all the character parts (Armor/Goblin Hair) and Beorn’s head, indicating all the pieces from this set are from the main Lego factories, and not from their factories in China; so the quality is good/standard. Opening the instruction manual, we discover our mistake of mixing everything. Well whatever, AFOLs don’t need instructions! The second page shows the construction of the minifigures, as well as three pictures of The Hobbit title in three different languages, just in case we forgot what we were building. Notice this instruction manual has a light blue background, but does not feature any kind of watermarked picture—strange since that seems to be becoming the norm for Lego manuals, and therefore this one is kind of boring. Notable Pieces: Before we start building, there's a few cool pieces to look at. We get two dark red leaves in this set; a piece I love and cannot get enough of. There are also two nice metallic wheels (Since apparently four wheels are two too many for a catapult), and dark brown catapult pieces included. Four teeth/blades are included in this set too; which are Medium Dark Flesh in color and not pearl gold as they seem to appear as on the box (They are also the same color as the Gundabad Orcs in this set). The most noticeable piece in this set however is the round 2x2 tile with the center hole. This is a new piece and it appears only here (Includes 2) as well as in the larger Dol Guldur. It’s an interesting piece and it opens up many uses; especially for those, like myself, who prefer studless builds. Building: To keep tension and add suspense, I’m going to leave the minifigures till the end; which means its building time! Anywho, the first thing built is a puny catapult. I will say this is the most useless part of this set, although in saying that, I am lying since there is something more useless coming up later, but until then, consider this the most usless. It’s the standard catapult type we’ve seen in sets for years and decades, nothing new, nothing surprising. It’s mostly dark brown which is nice, and features the ability to throw two bricks at once, but aside from that it’s forgettable and just meh. Really, how would they ambush someone with a catapult? Let’s hope Beorn stays in one spot for five minutes while we load and fire! That'll get ‘im! Main Build: Next up is the main build of the set; the gateway…doorway…or something, of Dol Guldur. I must admit, this does seem like a strange build since the main Dol Guldur already has a gate; so I’m not really sure what is being depicted here—most likely something from the movie. Anyways, at the start it’s mostly tiles, but the build progresses quickly. There are no stickers in this set, but a few profile bricks are used from time to time to add texture. Also notice the technic pin brick on the far left that allows this set to be connected to Dol Guldur Battle (Step 13). A few large bricks add height to the build fast, and a brown tree is also constructed in the style of Mirkwood. Meanwhile at the back of the build, we begin to construct the mechanism to kill intruders. Also notice the 1x1 outward headlight bricks in black; this set includes 20 of them. Next, two almost identical swinging posts are constructed, one with two axes, the other with some kind of gigantic sledge hammer. I want to point out that they were designed well, since it’s possible to swing both at once, as they are constructed so as to not hit each other when they swing to the narrow doorway. Then I’d like to point out that they seem almost useless, since as we all know, it’s far easier to keep out intruders with a door than swinging hammers. But I digress. They work great, they look good, and they're cool. After a few more steps the doorway is looking nicer, and then one step later it begins to look very scary, or creepy at the least. Then the tree is completed as are the busted battlements. Finally, in horrific fashion, the right side of the build becomes devoted to noting more than firing an out of place flick missile. Now I do take the stand that I generally like flick missiles, but I also need to say that I like them when they are used wisely. Here a chunk of the build is devoted to constructing and opening a rock to fire a missile at crotch level. By far this this the most useless and unwanted part of the set. It just seems like a waste of pieces for no good return--they should have been used elsewhere, like on a door or something. The whole rock cropping is attached by only one hinge which I found was too little and too weak, since the rock kept sliding open when I was taking photos. There are two missiles included. Adding a torch finishes off the build. Completed Build Front: The build now complete, you can see it in all it's shades of grey (With some brown and black) glory. Notice the two skulls included; they are not attached anywhere, and are simply there for figs to trip over, or so I'm assuming. Back: The back features a more ugly view of the creation. It features the play abilities of the set, as well as the terrible flick rock. You can rotate the hammer swing and the flick rock at the same time. Extra Pieces There’s a few extra pieces, consisting mostly of slope tiles and teeth, Then there’s that 1x2 brown plate I forgot to add to the tree, because AFOLs don’t need nor read well instructions and whatnot. Either way, nothing spectacular. Play Features Well the build is done, and aside from the flick missile, it’s still kind of meh. So what’s great about it? The play features. The best part about the build is obviously the swinging weapons .They work well collectively, with the axes having a weaker punch than the hammer, but there’re both great. Not even going to do into the flick missile. Minifigures: Finally! Now if you’re like me, and I will say this honestly, your sole reason for buying this set was the minifigures. And frankly they are the best part of the set. Being a $20 set, the standard of figures we get are three, and each of them are spectacular. In this set we get Beorn and two Gundabad Orcs, both with full hair and one with full armor. Beorn First up is the hero and named character of the set, Beorn; the giant shape-shifting man. Obviously the most notable thing about him is he peacock hair, but he also comes with an axe. Beorn’s face and hair are one piece; which is both a good and bad thing. It makes the transition from his face to hair look great but on the downside we don’t get alternative faces and outside of Beorn there’s limited uses for it. Included here are a bunch of photos of Beorn’s hair/head. Beorn’s body parts are nice as well, with his skin in the color of Medium Flesh. His torso is particularly interesting, although limited in outside use. His printed legs are simple but nice as well. Beorn as a whole looks great, and he looks far better in person than in any picture. On the subject of Beorn however, it’s interesting that a single piece is being used as his face and hair—in a clear attempt to make him seem larger than a standard minifigure. It does work to an extent, though that’s mostly due to the hair; but frankly it’s almost unnoticeable, and could have worked as two pieces. On a final note of interest, it’s possible to use Beorn’s head with the new Gundabad Orc armor, which in the process makes him so... Gundabad Orcs The final two figures included in this set are two identical Gundabad Orcs. The only difference between the two is a fancy one-piece shoulder armor; which itself looks great. Both feature identical front and back printing, but no alternative faces—rather thin strands of hair are printed on the back of their heads (So as they are not required to wear the hair pieces). They have different weapons as well, one wields a fail, while the other wields a time traveling Uruk-hai sword (Because this is a prequel after all); I’m positive it’s important to the plot. It’s important to note that this is the only set where Gundabad Orcs have goblin ear hair pieces (It’s also the only set with the correct ear color needed for Gundabad). It’s an incentive to buy this set for those Orc collectors, since while they appear in three out of the four new Hobbit sets, this is the only set where you can get a “complete” Gundabad Orc. Color Comparison to other Orcs: Conclusion Overall, I like this set. The build is a bit meh, but being able to connect it to the larger Dol Guldur enhances its value. The minifigures are clearly the largest drive for getting this set; but the build as a whole seems complete enough to stand alone. Minifigures: 10/10 Spectacular in every way, they are the main drive for the set. The disadvantages of a once piece Beorn are more than made up for by the complete Gundabad Orcs. Design: 5/10 I like parts of this set, but the flick missile rock is just unforgivable. Parts: 8/10 Overall good, but pieces such as extra hinges for stability would have been greatly appreciated. Price: 10/10 Affordable and fulfilling, it feels like you got your money out of it. Lego seems to have a knack for $20 sets the past few years—clearly continuing. Playability: 8/10 The swinging intruder deterrents are so fun! Catapults are ok, But rock missiles? Overall: 42/50 = B+ In final thoughts, I liked this set. It was fun, the figures were great, and while the build had some problems, it was nice in the end. Overall, it was a worthwhile buy, and any fan of the Hobbit or Castle theme would be happy to have it. Enjoy ~Nemo

  20. Hey all! This is my first Castle - themed MOC. I have always enjoyed this theme, as some of my first sets as a kid were Castle sets. After seeing many great MOCs and scenes from builders here, I thought I'd have a go at one. I decided to do a forestmen type creation, as they have always been a favorite LEGO faction to me. Anyway, here it is. This is the overall scene, built on a 32 x 32 base. And that's it . Thanks for viewing, and as always, C&C welcome. EDIT: More photos and full set on Flickr
