[Challenge 3][Cat B][M-A04] Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair

Location: A04 Mynderis Tags: Science // PERSONAL DIARY // Though I'm no botanist I've been trying my hand at cultivating some flowering plants from Mynderis aboard the Mantis science ship Scorpion in one of the hydroponic labs. I've been adding Awesomnium to the water to see if it enhances them. Big Sal also added one of his new hybrids in the corner to see what impact Awesomnium water has on it. My pacifist companion Ed Zob doesn't seem to like the idea of super powered plants and continues to insist that we should not be meddling with nature. He tried to claim the hybrid is an affront to nature, science, and the gods. Honestly, I think being a pacifist, he just doesn't like that Mantis is so militaristic and he doesn't trust the corporation. It isn't pleasant for me either, but Big Sal has seemed really stressed out lately and the constant stress of leadership and concern over Kawashita attacks can't be helping. Maybe some giant plants would brighten his day. And it would help to know how the Awesomnium impacted plants for other stuff too. He has been so busy lately I haven't really managed to catch up with him much. It seems like he is never in his cabin or his office. And the labs get sealed sometimes when certain experiments are going on. I'm sure he is just really busy with all of his work. Location: Mynderis - A04 Mission: Detection of pockets of gas and terraforming through establishment of viable ecosystems. "Log 2.3. 0930 hrs. We have landed safely on Mynderis and I'm testing my new creation: the B.E.G.P. ; the Biologically Enhanced Gas-searching Plant. It is modified to withstand extreme temperatures and drought. The enhanced vacoules contains hydrogen and makes the plant light and it can propel itself cushioned on its front mandibles. Testing indicates that it can identify even small pockets of natural gas within a radius of a mile." "Log. 2.4. 11.00 hrs. While the B.E.G.P. is searching for viable sources of gas I have landed the E.T.P. The Ecosystem Transport Platform has been developed to transport delicate ecosystems that due to microbial mutualistic relations can't be isolated in transportation. The platform is designed to work on all terrains and has a defense-system inspired from the terran anthropods: the scorpions. It's is well suited to give MANTIS a foothold on this hostile planet." Note: Short on time and bricks, had to skip the terrain this time but I had fun!

This contact better be worth it….The smell is getting to me. Computer: Well, you have met them before. Jebadiah: Are you sure the man is coming? Robin: He will my friend! *Loud Noise* Beltar: *Cough* COMPUTER! THESE ARE YOUR CONTACTS! REALLY! I UNDERSTAND ROBIN, BUT HIM AGAIN! Beltar: So just how did you guys host this escape? Jeb: Your computer contacted me, and told me to contact Robinhood here. We then had some…inside…help. Robin: That is mostly correct! Beltar: There we go. Little trace. Computer: Wait. Beltar: Huh? Jeb: ? Robin what iz it robot! Computer: Wait. Computer: I’m getting 2 AIs’ in the vicinity. One is deactivated. But… Beltar: WHAT? Are you certain it isn't you? Computer: Affirmative. The other one One is active. Standard protocols mean that they should be deactivated before being thrown into the recycling plant. *Random Noise* PauL: Ksskkzzz…Orders Revived. Beltar: WOAH, PAUL? WHAT? WHO OPENED THOSE? *All say not them…* PauL: Hello there. *Random magnet clicking and coming from the trash on the other side* PauL: My designation is aPauLo-14. You killed my cousin. Prepare to be caught. (Or Die) Beltar: What. The. Absolute. H*ll. Computer: I think we should leave. Robin: Agreed. Jeb: Agreed. Robin: I will hold him off. Go my friends! Beltar: But.. Robin: GO! Location: A04-Mynderis Tags: Exploration Job: Explorer The more I explored Mynderis, the quicker I wanted to leave; lava and rocks were the main terrain, with the occasion small volcano. It seemed that most of these weren't active however, and I didn't pay too much attention to them. That is, until one of them erupted directly in front of me... Needless to say, I was rather startled, and hot tailed out of there as fast as my jet-packs would take me. More pics here: Link Just a really quick little build for this week. C&C welcome

Location: Planet Mynderis, Sector A04 Tags: Military Log_M_6: Once again, I have been deployed on Mynderis. This time, I have joined a group of M.A.N.T.I.S. Special Forces operatives to take down some Kawashita missile turrets and small communications towers... Cargo Ship M_C1-1, this is Ace Jagjit reporting: One missile turret down, a couple more to go. Don't deploy troops yet, still too many turrets, they will take you down in a flash. Cargo Ship M_C1-1 is preparing to deploy troops. Wait, no! There is still a missile turret! Deploying troops. Aghh... Do they even listen? AG: Mynderis Again? by Andrew JN, on Flickr Log_M_6_1: Mission was a success, however, we lost a cargo ship (although I warned them!). Maybe that is why it is a cargo ship and not a dropship..... Anyway, during the aftermath, we found a little Kawashita robot that looked overworked, and to make the story short, we took it home with us. I really wanted to give it a name (Qubert), but they said not to name robots, and to just call it a KHB bot.... Whatever... Over and out.

Paul: Sir, We are breaching the upper atmosphere, the windshield cannot withstand this amount of pressure at the speed we are coming in. Also, some form of acid is melting off the grey plating. We have got to pull up! B: I can land this hunk of junk. I gotta. She’ll hold together. YOU’D BETTER HOLD TOGETHER! PauL: The windshield is cracking. Sir! SIR! B: Ah SHUT UP AND LET ME FLY THIS THING … PauL: SIR, PULL UP! *Boom* *The cockpit of the Heart of Aesomnium slides across the rugged terrain on Myndernis* B: Ughh---That. Was fun. Really reminded me of the old days. BUT SERIOUSLY, WHY DID WE END UP HERE? PauL: I…kzkkk..don’t know. B: So, we gotta pass the time somehow. How are you today? PauL: Sir, I’m ‘jammed’, I can’t get out of the socket. B: That’s..great…Ship Status Report? PauL: Engine is shot black, almost out of reserve power, 96.4% of the controls are broken, and a lot of other functions are broken. B: Wonderful. Any idea when rescue is coming? PauL: Assuming they have a base on this planet, within the next 24 Hours. B: Okay. Wait. One sec, I gotta move. B: Alright, all better now. PauL: Sir, I would not advise sitting on that ground. B: I’LL BE FINE! GOT IT? PauL: Siryessir. Mysterious Figure: Oh ho! What iz zis? A fine specimen! B: WHO ARE YOU, GET LOST, AWAY YOU MANTIS SCUM? Mysterious figure: Oh nono! I am none of this Mantis thou speak off! B: WHAT DO YOU WANT? Mysterious figure: Allow me to introduz myzelf firzt! Robinhood: I. Am ze Robinhood! Beltar: What. The. H*** You’re a…fairy tale character? Aren’t you? Robinhood: Oh no no! I was one of the original astronauts sent to map this galaxy, but I went missing on purpose due to the lack of thou fair pay! And you can call me Robin! B: Then what do you even want? Robinhood: Well, stuff! Iz rare to find good free ztuff around! B: Let me see what I have around. B: Alright, this is all I got, a sword and a drill. Robinhood: Oh, thank you! Not that nice little robot though? B: Well. He’s mine, and he’s ‘jammed’. Robinhood: Oh PauL: Sir, I’m not ‘jammed’ but I really am jammed! B: Yeah yeah yeah. Hey Robin, isn’t that a Kawashita cycle? Robin: That? Oh no no! I got this…Awhile…ago…From a group of people that gave it to me. B: Alright. Leave. Now. Robinhood: Alright thou friend! Beltar Wait. Where was that settlement that you got it from? Robinhood: Oh, about 4 clicks north! Bye now! B: WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT! Robinhood: Till we meet again friend! I will always take stuff to give to the aliens! B: F*** This is even better PauL: That cycle was clearly Kawashita property sir. B: I know I know, I didn’t wanna fight a real Robinhood. After that crash. I’ve probably got a broken rib right now, and a couple others. B: Alright, let’s get you unjammed. PauL: Wait. Sir. That’s not- PauL: Necessary…If I was a human. That would’ve really hurt. B: Why? PauL: I find this form very…demeaning. It’s too small. And well, I quite liked it in there because I didn’t have to worry about the…lava. PauL: Alright. Now let’s just sit here. B: You got it. PauL: You know this reminds me of a mission I did for the company I worked for before Kawash- That’s not a…very…..interesting story. Beltar thought: “Wow. He’s lying for once…” B: Alright. You gotta tell me about it later though. If later means in the afterlife. Cause I don’t…see..any ship coming for..miles… Epilogue: Pilot: This is Rouge Four, I’ve found them. I repeat this is Rouge Four, I’ve found them. Pilot: This is Rouge Four coming in for a landing. Beltar: Iss…that… PauL: Rescue. Pilot: Come on in, you’ll be taken to a hostpital for a short while. Then redeployed. Beltar: Fuunnn.. PauL: I really need a recharge. Beltar: Lets go…’home’…PauL.. PauL: Si-? Pilot: By the way, friends, out scavengers will be here shortly, so fear not, we have not lost all of the HoA! Medical Record: Dr. SF: Oh wow, again. At least its not Project Paradise again. Hm…Not bad. He should be ready for redeployment in…less than 24 Hours. PauL: To where? Dr.SF: First, to help our dear Koro, then he will be placed on Terrial Major for the rest of the week. While you receive repairs and get transferred back into your normal body. Beltar: Thh—eee--_Fiileesss____ Dr.SF: What is he saying? PauL: Probably…something. ‘random’ Dr.SF: What’s your truth setting? PauL: ‘98%‘ And of course. That was a lie. Location: Planet Mynderis, Sector A04 Tags: Spaceship Log_M_5: After having been lectured on what I'm supposed to do in the M.A.N.T.I.S. corporation, I went to scan the skies above the skies of Mynderis... i.e. Got to fly in space! Not long afterwards, my radar picked up an enemy ship. Knowing Kawashita was beginning to send spies to this planet, I went after this craft. Upon noticing me on his radar, he flew into some asteroid fields near the planet in hopes of escaping the grasp of M.A.N.T.I.S. Little did he know I was an expert spacecraft flyer........ Location: Mynderis, Sector A04 Tags: Building, Spaceship Log_M_4: After a successful mission gathering biomass the Octan corporation kindly provided for us, I headed out to a M.A.N.T.I.S. dropship that hovered over the lava lakes of the planet Mynderis, in Sector A04. End_Log This is cargo ship M_C1-1 requesting permission to land. Permission granted. Prepare to land in Bay 23 AG: A Small Miscommunication by Andrew JN, on Flickr Ensign Harlon Norton, here is a shipment of Biomass from Sector E02 and Awesomnium from Sector A04. Ensign Harlon Norton: Alright, thank you Ace Jag... Wait, what!? Biomass from Sector E02? That planet is exploding with Awesomnium, the one resource we need, and you bring back BIOMASS!? What is your job Ace Jagjit? (Confused) I am a Special Forces Operative sir! Ensign Harlon Norton: Then what are you doing making resource deliveries? Uh.... Since I already had the biomass with me.... and I was coming here.... I... figured I would save some time and deliver it myself. I contacted Private Callum to let them... Ensign Harlon Norton: Don't finish. We have people who's job is to deliver and ship resources. You are a Special Forces Operative. We need men like you to be behind enemy lines helping us stay one step ahead of them. We don't need you STACKING USELESS BIOMASS ON THE SHELVES OF WAREHOUSES!!! Ensign Harlon Norton: Now get back out there and do something useful! Try blowing up something or bug enemy systems! [pause] Ensign Harlon Norton: I suppose it isn't entirely your fault, Private Callum is new here, so he didn't know that you should be out there, while others will deliver resources. Still, you said you got biomass from Sector E02? Y.. Yes sir. Ensign Harlon Norton: ...[muttering]... Well. anyway, you have permission to leave Ace Jagjit. And please, do something useful.... Biomass..... really?... Why oh why?..... On a planet full of Awesomnium!......... Log_M_4_1: Ouch! Got smashed by Ensign Harlon today, and all I did was deliver some Biomass... I mean, come on, who knows? We might need it later... Or maybe we won't... Well, I did think delivering resources was kind of boring. So... back to the fun stuff!!! End_Log ------------------------------- The joke here is that I got Biomass from Sector E02 instead of Awesomnium, which is what the map index CLEARLY STATES...And yet somehow, I missed that, and gathered biomass from that planet!
