Sharknose diesel units + 4-8-4 steam engine with Meramec River Runner passenger train

The whole Merrimac River Runner passenger train, headed up by Baldwin RF-16 "shark-nose" A +B diesels number 3701 with assistance provided by 4-8-4 "Northern" steam engine number 2980. The name of this train is a play off the Missouri River Runner, a real train that Amtrak runs from Kansas City to St. Louis. The Meramec River is a body of water that runs next to the real world 12-inch gauge Wabash Frisco & Pacific, so I switched the name to the Meramec River Runner. Never mind the fact the Missouri Pacific used to run on the roadbed the WFP now uses up from the 1850's until about the 1940's, when it was rerouted to it's current alignment and abandoned the old one to the eventual WFP use from the late '50's to today. These Baldwin diesel RF-16-like locos were inspired by set 10020, (Santa Fe Super Chief) for most of the basic body work and and fellow Eurobricks user @Legownz for the knife-like Sharknose front end. (Thank you for that ingenious design!) The cab and booster units feature no interior details because I have no need for such items on my layout.. that and retrofitting all my trains with inside details would be quite costly. The rear of each of the locos feature doorways to the next engine compartment, and / or the passenger train itself. This 7-wide steam loco began life as a 2-8-4 Berkshire type built by @Plastic_Goth and purchased from Rebrickable a seen here. I upped the wheel count by another leading axle, making it into a 4-8-4 Northern-type from the original 2-8-4 Berkshire. The pistons are entirely my own work, as is the complete tender. The coal tender will have the letters WFP on the side, standing for Wabash Frisco & Pacific, while the cab will feature the number 2980 on both sides. This is a scrambled homage to real world WFP 4-8-2 engine 928, which is so strong, it's pulled every piece of rolling stock the railroad owns -at one time- with ease! The inside of the cab features two gauges and the firebox door. This is all the interior the whole train features. These locomotives are inspired by set 60052 (Cargo Train) in some respect or another. The F-10 passenger model takes cues from two sets, one being the classic 10200 (AT&SF Super Chief) with regards to the nose design, while 60052 (Cargo Train) takes over the design for the colors scheme. The freight locomotive is more a heavy duty 60052, with parts of set 10219 (Maersk Train) thrown in to make if beefier and more prototypical to the SD-40, which is a six axle version of the GP-40 it it was created to be. F-10 passenger locomotive This model takes cues from two sets, one being the classic 10200 (AT&SF Super Chief) with regards to the nose design, while 60052 (Cargo Train) takes over the design for the colors scheme. Since the last time I uploaded this model, I have redone the roof to make the engine the same height as my other diesels, and have redone the nose and cab windows. (again). The letters LCGR go on the bottom row of studs, while the numbers 3247 go on the top four. The rear of the engine units. Loco statistics: Engine Number: 3247 Engine Type: Diesel-electric Configuration: B-B Engine Class: F10-A (cab) F10-B (booster) Designer: Electro-Motive Division (EMD) Build Date: 1961 Builder: EMD Current Owner: Lodi Clearwater & Green River Rail-Road Top Speed: 70 MPH This is the cab unit, where the engineer sits to control the train. This model no longer has an interior. Fictional background: These locos are from a experimental locomotive series called the F-10, which was built in 1961-2 on an order of 20 locomotives in sets of two (3240 - 3260) for the relatively small Lodi Clearwater & Green River Rail-Road (also known as the LCGR) by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division. These consisted of 10 A (cab) units and 10 B (booster) units, and were originally painted blue with black bases / roof lines. The principal use of the locomotives was the commuter trains radiating out from the city of Green River, Louisiana. The highest honor for these locomotives (and their engineers), though, was taking the Midnight Special from Lodi, Mississippi to Houston, Texas. The locomotives remained in service while the railroad bled money and deferred maintenance due to financial missteps and bad management to the point where a small derailment and fire led to the subsequent burning of the entire Susie Q. Bayou bridge in 1987. After that, most of the battered and weary F-10's were sold to museums or scrap, although five of the best preserved ones were upgraded mechanically and electrically in 1997. These final five serve the financially stabilized and better maintained LCGR to this day. This is the booster unit, which provides extra pulling power to the train. It does not have a cab as it receives orders from the cab engine via multiple unit control cables hooked between the two locomotives. SD-40 freight locomotive Inspired by and mostly taken from instructions by Zephyr1934 for converting the 2014 set 60052 into a model like set 10219 (Maersk Train). The wheels, however, are modified from Anthony Sava's Alco MRS-1 diesel loco, turning this GP-40 styled loco into a simplified version of the Electro Motive Division type SD-40 diesel electric locomotive. The rear of the loco features twin marker lights. As on the passenger loco, their is space for four numbers of the loco and four letters (yes, I need to update the pictures!) for the railroad near the nose of the engine. Fictional background: In August 1966, Electro Motive Division (also called EMD ) delivered a group of thirty SD-40 locomotives to the Lodi Clearwater & Green River Rail-Road. (otherwise known as the LCGR) These locomotives numbered 3260 to 3290 were immediately put to use in the Railroad's workshops, and moving cargo from any of number of smaller on-line businesses and facilities such as the relatively large Cosmo's Bicycle Factory near Green River, Louisiana. The SD-40's were seldom repainted in cash-strapped LCGR service, and quickly earned the name "Bruisers" for their battered appearance and worn black-and-blue color scheme, although the engines were repainted and upgraded in 2002. (though the name “Bruisers” seems to have stuck!) I made this logo by using the Rock Island logo and the font "Union Gray" to make the words. The name of the railroad is a salute to the band Creedence Clearwater Revival. The name of one of this band's songs is "Lodi" while another is "Green River". (as seen my the logo) I also used bits from some of their other songs in the history of the railroad and it's trains, such as the "Midnight Special" passenger train and the "Susie Q." Bayou bridge. I've yet to write the whole history of the road, but that shouldn't be too hard to do. This is all I've worked out so far, and Comments, Questions, and Complaints are always welcome.

This first model is a mash-up of the 2013 Palace Cinema (set number 10232) car and the car from 2002 Escape from Privet Drive. (set number 4728) I added a new cabin roof with bigger windows and made the car in more colors. These variations include: Tan, Red, White, Black, Dark Bluish Gray. Each car has 4 seats and a steering wheel now too, but it still can't seat figures. Here we see the tan version. Rear view. I made the red convertible into a brown coupe. I have updated the model and LDD file because some parts of the old MOC were did not exist in the right colors, so I fixed them. The rear features the tail lights and license plate. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1428415439m.lxf This car is based off the CARS 2 character "Acer" from set 9484, Red's Water Rescue, a 2012 set. It uses a mix of dark bluish gray and lime to give it the peeling paint look. the car is EXTREMELY tiny, being about the same size as the LEGO cars from the 1990's, except this model seats no mini-figures. This car was built in real life first, then recreated in LDD, which is a fairly rare occurrence for me. it is also build able without the dark bluish gray bricks for an all lime green color scheme fresh from the Factory floor. The car is build-able in five colors: Red, White Yellow, Black, and Medium Blue. Shown here is the medium blue version. (Spider Man: Spider Cycle Chase) I took out the hover wheels and removed the flick-fire launcher mechanism. I then grouped the parts I added to the model to make it easier to build. Personally, this car makes me think of a 1980's sports car. The rear of the car features some neat partially covered wheels. It was inspired by eurotrash48903 and his own MOD of the set to be 7 wide. I didn't change it quite as much as him, but I did follow his lead in several spot, such as shortening the frame by 2 studs and getting rid of the ridiculously oversized original wheels. The roof and front have been strengthened and a door added to the rear, as their was none before. rear view showcasing the door and rear fender. It's cab features two seats instead of one, and the paint scheme has been changed to plain black. You can also see the brake lights are located just under the tailgate. Built and modified from a PDF of the LEGO Rock Band bus, but in red instead of orange. Dual exhaust and fancy tail-lights feature on this model. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1416926658m.lxf (Two of these are need for the roof sign: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=4865pb42 ) 1950's Fire truck I was inspired to build this by CARS set 9484, Red's Water Rescue. I replaced the eyes with trans-black tiles and cheese slopes, while adding a grille where the mouth was. I also beefed up the rear, and removed the flick-fire missiles. The side of the truck features two hoses (one for each side) and the roof has a ladder. The sides also feature 4 hose hookups (that's the pearl gold 1x1 round studs) and two identical pump controls. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1416965118m.lxf Modern Double deck bus (yellow) Inspired by the design of the red bus in set 60026 (Town Square) and the yellow bus in set 7641 (City Corner), this double deck bus can seat 14 mini-figures, including the driver. It features a modular design, and has two doors: one at the front for entering, and one at the rear for exiting. (My brother Austin inspired this mod by giving me the idea for the double deck bus in yellow. He made one in red which he has not uploaded yet. (link: http://www.bricklink...asp?S=4000008-1 ) I repainted it a more common-place black & gray instead of red, yellow, blue & light gray. It now features a enclosed cab, and better-looking side mirrors. The top of the cargo compartment comes off allowing for access to the interior. The rear features a trailer hookup although no trailer is included in the LDD file. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1418836166m.lxf 1950's left-hand drive Double Deck bus (black & red) This was originally Scotnick's 7-studs-wide Bridgemaster Bus. I painted it in black and red for Brick Railway Systems and made into left hand drive for use in America. The bus also sports an enlarged upper deck, and a revised front windscreen. The red stripes on the upper deck are destination boards. This model is 100% build-able. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1418417217m.lxf 1950's American Sedan I was inspired to build this model after seeing the dark red half-track / truck in this set: http://brickset.com/...overcraft-Chase The model looked easy to duplicate, but it proved difficult to create an exact copy. I then decided to take it in a another direction and create a regular American 1950's car, complete with tail fins and two rows of seating. The model features two rows of seating and opening doors, (a rarity on my models!) tail fins, and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) The jumper plate on the rear bumper is supposed to represent a tailpipe and the white 1x2 tile is a license plate. (link: https://www.flickr.c...57624191463040/ ) I converted this 5 wide car to a hardtop and replaced the wide original wheels with a more Beetle-like solid disc. I also changed the color to yellow instead of green and added a license plate at the back. The car seats 1 mini figure. I modified the rear view mirrors, added a different style hook assembly, and removed the doors. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1420396040m.lxf 1950's left-hand drive double deck bus This is Scotnick's Bridgemaster (UK) bus painted reddish brown and heavily modified to have left hand drive. The model is 7 wide, 24 studs long, and 12 2/3 bricks tall. It even features a handrail at the rear entrance. As an interesting side note, there are 27 1x2x2 trans-clear panels on the bus, along with two brick-built rear windows and the front windscreen. (man am I old!) This model features an extended frame and new wheels, courtesy of the CARS theme. I built this model for my Brother, Austin, for use on his town. The interior can seat one figure and features a steering wheel. The rear bumper also features a licence plate. In real life, this car type was built from 1959 - 1968. The engine was a straight in-line four cylinder, and the body came in 2 door saloon, 3 door estate & 2 door panel van. I built the LEGO version in LEGO Digital Designer and real life. The rear of the car features a non-opening trunk made to look like the original set 4728 model. I took the original model and enclosed the rear storage space and added a new front bumper / engine area. The model seats 1 mini-figure and has doors in the rear for storage. (these are supposed to be signs, not actual letters) This model was also partially inspired by the United States Postal service vans I have in my area. The rear features two tail lights and a license plate. The rear doors do open and there is space to hold stuff in there. The model looked easy to duplicate, but it proved difficult to create an exact copy. I then decided to take it in a another direction and create a generic American 1950's car, which eventually got turned into this version of Benny's Classic Space themed automobile. The model features a row of space-ship styled seats and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) the white tile above the rear bumper is supposed to be Benny's license plate. I eyeballed the model and faithfully recreated it, but it was severely lacking in several areas so I enhanced it by extending the frame about two studs, and added bigger wheels. I then redid the bumper and passenger cabin, which required a new 4 x 8 roof, which is longer than the original 4 x 6 piece. The rear features two tail-lights and a license plate. It can also seat one mini-figure in the drivers seat. NOTE: The rear of the model actually features a 2 x 2 trans clear slope instead of the two 1 x 2 slopes seen here.
