[MOC] All-Terrain Winter Expedition Vehicle

Hello EB! I'd like to humbly show this remote control (PF) winter expedition vehicle (MOC). Featuring 4 independently driven tracks with a unique steering system. More explanation below and in my YouTube video. It has many issues that I'm not willing to spend more time to fix, but I've learned a lot from the process, which will help improve my future MOCs. If I was to start from scratch here's what I would change: Put motors closer to driven axles Split drivelines into either front/back or single motor per tread less complicated steering system Use a different type of suspension instead of pendular raise the height of the driven sprocket instead of extending driveline with gears reduce weight with panels vs lifttarms (I didn't have any at the time of building) Never use an Adder again, or if I really have to then use the old-style 24t differentials Work more on the cabin/exterior design A sizeable portion of the issues stemmed from the weight, which is something I didn't expect! I ordered some parts to allow me to finish the frame, and added design elements in the meantime. The design elements were pretty much the difference between being-able-to-carry-its-own-weight and not. The MOC is already disassembled, but I'll be happy to hear feedback and suggestions! -
Hello, here is my very first build since my dark age. I always admired LEGO train layouts and dioramas. Since I have some free time with the current situation (Covid-19), I decided to give it a try! At worst, I would have had a good time, at best I will have entertained you... because I will try to keep a video journal on my YouTube Channel. I am by no means an experienced builder and I will try to link the sources of the techniques that I use. My goal is to build a diorama that can be easily taken to pieces. This is why I choose the MILS module solution (http://www.abellon.net/MILS/). On these modules I'd like to put Official Winter Village sets first and then if I become more skilled some of my own creations. About the videos : I've made two types of content : Speedbuild videos where the build of the module is dynamic and take less than 5 minutes Long version videos which are more relaxing and shows every single step of the build On this topic I will only link the speedbuild version, you can check my YouTube channel if you'd like to view the long versions. Baseplate #1 "The pond" LEGO Baseplate 01 - 73 by BRiXTOF, sur Flickr Nothing fancy about this module, I had to build something easy to gain confidence. The track ballast standard is from L-Gauge ------------------------------------------------------ Baseplate #2 "Santa's workshop" LEGO Baseplate 02 - 87 by BRiXTOF, sur Flickr This module contain the reason I wanted to build a Winter Diorama : 10245 Santa's Workshop. The tunnel is not very detailed, I wanted to put some headlight bricks on the underside of the arch in order to have some texture (Just like this tutorial), but because of the arch type the headlight brick doesn't hold. I'm not very happy about the snow cornice on the top-right, if you have any suggestions... Here is the source of inspiration of this module : Swiss Alps tunnel with the Bernina Express When multiples modules will be connected, I will add some trees and minifigures, this is just the base for now. I took inspiration from an image on the internet and I wanted to try to put it in my winter village. As usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation and this is a cozy shelter for Santa Claus and his reindeer. Speaking of the brand new reindeer it's really cute! The house is a typical A-frame cabin, a kind of cottage I do really like. This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hi! Some time ago I start built my medieval Trebuchet MOC, based on my first design from 2010 year. The final project is ready! What's more, it will be part of my new diorama! The project "The Siege of Bricks" will be diorama in a winter world, my army will be preparing to siege the city (that will be built by my friend form Cube Brick YT channel. Going back to the Trebuchet - it's contain 300 parts, range is 6-7 meters, which I consider a huge success because the initial range was 3 meters. Winter Garden This diorama was on my wishlist since a long time. My goal was to recreate a welcoming room full of plants and flowers while using many pieces from the Scala, Fabuland and Belville series. I have been collecting these kind of pieces in the past few months, and have finally placed them in my Winter Garden. If you look carefully you'll notice many Scala pieces like the award ribbon, the watering cans, the cloth rug, the chairs, the wicker baskets and the suitcase. Even the white cat waiting for the mouse on the chair. The coffee-table legs are linked via the Scala towel bar, a piece I had never heard of, but very interesting. I also added a couple of Fabuland utensils: the camera on the cabinet and the jerry can. There are many plants and flowers and I used different kind of utensil to create the plants supports (hockey sticks for the cactus, brooms for the ficus). There are many others details and NPU, have fun spotting them! It was very funny building it and it's something different from my usual comfort zone. Hope you like it!

“The sweetshop’s rather good, and Zonko’s Joke Shop's frankly dangerous.” This MOC is of Zonko’s joke shop from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! The joke shop is located in the non-Muggle village of Hogsmeade, and, to Filch’s dismay, keeps Hogwarts students stocked with the most mischievous tricks Fred and George can get their hands on! Zonko's with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr The model is based off the recreation of Zonko’s joke shop in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book and film. Snow covers the roof of the build to capture the small village’s wintry appearance and stickers above the large red windows recreate the playful shop signage. The red shelves and window displays are adorned with fireworks, Fanged Frizbees, and stacks of joke boxes. While I still have several old models that need posting, this is my first new GoH build since moving to Billund! Quite a simple scene, but I do like how the walls of the bridge flare slightly thanks to the 1x2 rounded plates. Eryl goes for a walk outside Harburg with one of the loyal family dogs following along. More builds to come

A collab between John and I for the miscellaneous category of the CCC XVII. The build was inspired by this stunning concept art. It weighs in at 41.2 pounds, making it our second largest build to date, behind only Life In Nordheim. Credit for the deer design goes to Grantmasters. We hope you enjoy our last build of 2019! Sabishi Monastery is located high in the Heavenly Mountains of Mitgardia, leading to a very secluded life for the monks who reside there. This MOC is based on my favorite winter cartoon “Father Frost and the Gray Wolf” One of the most memorable episodes when farther Frost easily slides on skis through the winter forest. And to make it more interesting, I decided to build not just a figure, but a kinetic sculpture. In general, kinetic art in Lego is very widely represented and I have long wanted to try myself in this area. After a short search I have found skier by JK Brickworks However, the style of movement of the Canadian skier is fundamentally different from the style of father Frost. The first one's movement of the arms and legs is short and rhythmic, then the second one's is more in amplitude. And this means that it is impossible to take and repeat the finished mechanism - it is necessary to develop a fundamentally different way. After several experiments, I drew attention to this detail Fortunately, I had two of them, and the mechanism acquired its final form: Father Frost: Kinetic Sculpture by Dmitriy and Anna, on Flickr Here, the rotation of the handle, through a system of gears, sets in motion the elementary mechanism for converting rotational motion into translational, which moves the rack and pinion gear. The main idea is to synchronize two racks through a gear, which simultaneously transmit rotation to the upper gear system, simulating the movement of the hands. Gear ratios were selected in such a way as to closely match the movements of the hero. Below you can see the result. A figure of a Snowman is attached to the pen. In the cartoon, he worked as a driver for father Frost, but here he “sets in motion” the sculpture. After a spark of inspiration last month, I immediately halted my project LEGO Astrotrain in favor of this one . And I vowed to complete and publish it before Xmas. So here I am. Can you guess which component/carriage took up most of my building time? You'd be surprised! One fun thing about building LEGO TF is the uncertainties and pleasant suprises along the way. I never intended this bot to have weapons or turn into war machines, but somehow... here's what mid-transformation ended up looking. Building the tree took up disproportionately longer time than the rest of the carriages and train, since the tree conceals the robot hand*. I think I revised the tree design for more than 4 times before I settled down for this one: *the hand is MORE than 2 studs wide no thanks to the protruding finger parts. This makes things much harder , than concealing a hand that's exactly 2 studs wide inside the tree. It's time for Santa Claus to go! Like every year at this time Santa Claus has to get to work, children all over the world are waiting for him. In my latest diorama you can see Santa Claus leaving his red cabin at the North Pole to get on his sleigh pulled by two Huskys. He has a long way to go... I inserted in the diorama a big animal. The Station of Memories is a metaphor of past memories, when the family was gathering for special family events. It is a place out of time, another space-time in which everyone can connect and remember part of his/her life, out of the current everyday life. In a distant December 2013 I presented here on EuroBricks a moc to which I am particularly attached: the Winter Chalet! This building took part like many others in my winter village which year after year became an ever larger diorama. Given the interest I decided to include (several years later) the Winter Chalet on LEGO Ideas and immediately had a great success! I didn't think I would get that high on the score score. I have never done too much publicity on this project but now there are less than 2000 votes to reach the summit and I need you! Hi, Check out my MOC images called Ski Jump. I came up with this idea to support the jumper using his sticks, as it would prove too difficult to get the curve required at the bottom of the slope to allow him to take off! Let me know your thoughts.... Hope you like these images . Thanks BrickCaddy

Hello! I came across some awesome roof builds using those wedge plates. Having a few to spare, I gave it a try. This is my first attempt at anything in the genre. I only have 4 hinges, and they're half black, so I had to make do with them. With a few brown pieces I tried to mock up a simple wooden structure below. It's simple but it works; we had snow this year!
