    [MOC] The Grand Tower

Hi everyone! This is my first MOC of 2024, finally out after a 2 month effort! I had this dome design idea in the back of my head for a couple of years now and never had the chance to use it before. This MOC is part of a new RPG that I've just joined.

    GoH 10 C: The Hunt

Built for 10C "Miscellaneous" Category and for Brickscalibur "Frozen Wilds" Category! Amir had spent years gaining the trust of his employer. When he finally gained access to his massive vault in Barqa, he made sure to pocket some on every "accounting check". Sure, the old geezer was nice, but he was also gullible, so Amir reasoned that he deserved it! He planned to sail away to Valyrio once he had enough, and buy a quiet villa overlooking the sea with his ill-gotten gains. As it turned out, the old man was not as senile as Amir thought. Noticing a discrepancy (and hiring his own investigator), he discovered the plot and ordered Amir arrested. Amir was able to get out of town with only a sack full of the pilfered gold. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than being imprisoned or worse - authorities in Kaliphlin did not take such offenses lightly. Now he was on the snowy slopes of Mitgardia. Nice and far from Kaliphlin, but he wasn't safe. He recalled his response when he heard the news. Sitting in a tavern a few hours prior, he overheard from some travelers that a massive bounty had been put on his head. As if that wasn't bad enough, it turned out that Kars was one of the many hunters vying for the reward. Amir had heard stories of Kars for years - a tall, lean man of few words with a bizarre mask. It was said that his silver eyes pierced the soul and drove his quarries to regret the choices that led them there. Nicknamed "the Bloodhound", he was said to be the best tracker in all the land. Countless stories told of his incredible feats - Amir never fully believed them, but the news still caused him to panic. Making an inconspicuous exit from the tavern, he made his way further north. Rounding a bend, he froze in place. There he was waiting for him. All the stories were true. Drawing his dagger, Amir lunged at Kars. Faster than lightning, the bounty hunter responded with his own sword: a massive saber. In the hands of anyone shorter it would have been unwieldily. Kars dodged Amir's thrust and slashed him the back. Though only a shallow wound, Amir still cried in pain, and tumbled down the slope. Propping himself against an old birch tree, he watched as drops of blood colored the snow a bright red. He turned his head to see Kars approaching him, sword still drawn. Amir locked eyes with the bounty hunter. From behind his wooden mask peered two silver eyes; sharp as needles, they had hungry yet calculating look to them. More importantly, they peered into Amir's soul. For the first time in years, Amir felt shame and guilt for what he had done. He regretted everything that had led him to this point. Before he could beg for his life, Kars spoke. "You're lucky your employer wants you alive." More photos:

    [MOC] Santa's Motor Sleigh

Hello, I would like to present to you my MOC of Santa's Sleigh. Initially it was supposed to by more typical endeavor but my local LUG (WAWLUG) held a small contest to build whatever using Stuntz motors. It only had to go half a meter, which gave birth to idea of a Diesel Sleigh :) The sleigh is pulled by three Stuntz motors and one regular and on very even surface can go up to about 1,5 meters. The biggest problem is the fact the sleigh have only one wheel that is used to "ring" two bells it has. Those will swing back and forth as the sleigh go. I hope you'll enjoy this little piece of X-mas, even though it is a bit late :)

    tender snowplough

In many places the tenders from old steam locomotives where converted to snowploughs. since my layout is winter themed and it is winter currently i decided to build one: the tender before the conversion. the attached shovel is used to shovel coal. the other side. the middle axle is able to shift sideways to negotiate curves. ...and now after the conversion. the tender was repainted and now features air tanks to be able to swivel the snowploughs blades via pneumatics. the very same shovel is now used to shovel snow from switches and stuff... the color sceme is the one from my ski resort, the model is inspired by the 3axle tender of the german br24 steam locomotive: similar to this but with the air tanks and bigger plough from the "klima Schneepflug" style ones: hope you like this one and if you want to build it yourself the stud.io file is in the link in my signature.

    [MOC] The Sacred Bridge

The Sacred Bridge, leading to the Inari shrine. The Kitsune (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitsune) is drinking by the river. And many animals are observing the traveling monk, while he walks on the sacred bridge leading to the shrine. The blue birds are supposed to be Red-flanked bluetails, and the other bird is a Japanese Crane (Red-crowned Crane). Inspiration for this build, is the various red Japanese bridges leading to a shrine or other sacred place, this one was based on the Shinkyo Bridge leading to the Futarasan Shrine in Nikko, which I visited in 2020. A Snowy Stroll

A vignette with just 99 elements for the RogueOlympics. Always good to build in Mitgardia again, and this time I even gave Glorfindel an outfit change Sir Glorfindel enjoying the frigid beauty of Mitgardian winter. Thanks for looking, feedback appreciated

    [MOC] Christmas Bonsai

This was the year of the first LEGO Bonsai # 10281 and the start of the "Botanical Collection" line. Since its release, the network has been filled with magnificent bonsai works from hundreds of builders. I also wanted to make my own version and one day I came up with the right idea for me: to make a Christmas-style Bonsai! Initially I wanted to cover it with snow-covered white leaves but then I thought that bonsai are generally kept inside a house and then I made a classic bonsai with green leaves which I then covered with the typical Christmas decorations as if it were a Christmas pine. I think it is quite unusual and curious! This will be my last 2021 moc. Thanks everyone and Merry Christmas! Flickr Gallery: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdrnet/albums/72177720295395158

    [MOC] Santa's Cottage

It's Christmas Time...Santa's Cottage (on LEGO IDEAS too) It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas and as usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation. This cozy shelter is the home of Santa Claus, who is preparing his world tour for delivering gifts. It's called Santa's Cottage and you can support it on LEGO IDEAS too. If you like the bizarre Santa's Cottage please consider to give it a chance of becoming an actual LEGO IDEAS set. You can shortcut straight to LEGO IDEAS platform using this handy link: https://bit.ly/Santas-Cottage-Norton74 Santa's Cottage features a classic Xmas color scheme, an uncommon shape and an unconventional doors/windows style. The main feature is probably the asymmetrical roof with a very sloping shape to the left. The woodshed is located under the excess roof. The red/white/black color combo is simple but effective, and the snowy trees in the background match well. Last but not least the door and windows are round, a shape rarely spotted on a cottage, but quite common in Hobbit houses. Santa, who is coming home from a relaxing walk, has also a nice off-road vehicle painted with a color scheme matching with the cottage. You can spot it on the right. This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  16. I wasn't shure whether this fits in here or in the technic subforum. I want to present to you my working fixed grip single chairlift. It features a bottom drive station with 2 fischertechnik xs motors underneath the station to power the thing. you might ask why didnt I use a lego motor? the reaason is simple. I didnt have a lego motor that works except the train motor at the time and i had these lying around. they work great and are 9v DC motors aswell so they would work with the powerfunctions/9v/powered up system if i made an adaptor cable for it. the top station features a tensioning system using an empty 9v battery as a weight. the top station is modeled after the older style doppelmayr lifts with a sort of tensioning tower. I also built some other mocs like a ski conveyor and a small snow cannon. but without further ado here are the pics: the bottom yellow part houses the two motors. there is a liftshack and some exhaust pipes indicating the emergency drives diesel motor. it also features gates to let skiers in timed just right to the chairs (non working). this is the top drive station complete with its liftshack, a webcam on its roof, the sign for the lift and the tensioning system. incase you are wondering why the bricks dont quite line up in the model dont worry irl they do line up it is within the tolerances of the bricks. here is an accurate model of the top station. it is for a 4 person lift though so the bullwheel is a bit larger if you want to see another pic of the real life thing please visit: https://www.lift-world.info/de/lifts/3096/datas.htm as for the bottom station it doesnt really have a real life counterpart as there where many fixed grip chairlifts made with underground drive where the lower ground was visible due to the landscape. it is/was quite a generic design for a lift. the lift chair: I had to make it narrower than the design @dagupa used for his because my bullwheels are smaller than his. i used the same ones for drive and tensioning which permits the chairs to not swing into the center on the pass of the bullwheels. my drive bullwheel has a blue lego rubber band in it to permit traction with the haul rope without having to have insane amounts of tension breaking something. I also built a ski conveyor which you'd often find on beginner hills/to connect a restaurant to a slope etc. there are three variants all modeled after the conveyors produced by SUNKID. one is the open variant and two are different designs for coveres ones: and finally i made a little snow cannon by de-toyifying the one from the city snowgroomer set. i used an aircraft turbine for the cannon part and even added a little light on top. hope you like my skiing themed mocs! if anyone wants the studio files they are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1h0ehsvt1i40o0o/AABCVx11JgplnTeDrDPl0c1da?dl=0 there are also some other concepts and models in there. just check them out and see if you like them. they are all in german though but i am shure you'll work it out. if you want to build the lift just follow @dagupa's instructions for routing the cable and attaching the chairs: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-10233/dagupa/motorized-ski-lift/#details he also made a video of it running. mine runs similar to his:

    Old Newsstand

Hello everybody, the time available to me is less and less but I managed to insert another small piece inside my Winter Village: The Old Newsstand. At the moment it is still in a "summer" version but will soon be covered with snow to better match the context. The little moc was born inspired by the old newsstands of historic cities like Milan (the city I live in) and Paris. I am aware that it still has some "flaws" but, unfortunately for the time available, it is already a result to be able to present it to you. I hope you like it and I hope to be able to finish it all for this winter. Small SPOILER: Compared to the photos posted previously, the village has almost doubled and still lacks a small space to finish all the tables available. Alessio

    Alnya Mountain Lodge

It felt great to build something winter and castle again! This was an entry for the miscellaneous category of the Colossal Castle Contest. Special thanks to John for the main photo edit. Small lodges are common in Alnya to offer shelter and supplies for the various hunters and adventurers often far from towns or villages. On this snowy morning, Rydel sets out with his two dogs for a fine day of hunting. There are several game trails nearby that he feels confident will result in a good harvest. See more pictures on Brickbuilt.
  19. Hello EB! I'd like to humbly show this remote control (PF) winter expedition vehicle (MOC). Featuring 4 independently driven tracks with a unique steering system. More explanation below and in my YouTube video. It has many issues that I'm not willing to spend more time to fix, but I've learned a lot from the process, which will help improve my future MOCs. If I was to start from scratch here's what I would change: Put motors closer to driven axles Split drivelines into either front/back or single motor per tread less complicated steering system Use a different type of suspension instead of pendular raise the height of the driven sprocket instead of extending driveline with gears reduce weight with panels vs lifttarms (I didn't have any at the time of building) Never use an Adder again, or if I really have to then use the old-style 24t differentials Work more on the cabin/exterior design A sizeable portion of the issues stemmed from the weight, which is something I didn't expect! I ordered some parts to allow me to finish the frame, and added design elements in the meantime. The design elements were pretty much the difference between being-able-to-carry-its-own-weight and not. The MOC is already disassembled, but I'll be happy to hear feedback and suggestions!

    Winter Cup Cafè

Hi everyone, This year my Christmas village will be super late or, perhaps, it will not even be presented because I do not consider it complete yet; so I show you a small MOC made on a 32 x 32 baseplate. I took inspiration from an image on the internet and I wanted to try to put it in my winter village. Hope you like it Merry Christmast to all Alessio Other images on Flickr Album here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmSMmiY2

    [MOC] Santa's Cabin

As usual in this period it's time for a Christmas themed creation and this is a cozy shelter for Santa Claus and his reindeer. Speaking of the brand new reindeer it's really cute! The house is a typical A-frame cabin, a kind of cottage I do really like. This is probably my last MOC for this year and I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (hoping that it will be better than 2020) Thanks for stopping by! Merry Christmas and happy new year!

    Winter Garden

Winter Garden This diorama was on my wishlist since a long time. My goal was to recreate a welcoming room full of plants and flowers while using many pieces from the Scala, Fabuland and Belville series. I have been collecting these kind of pieces in the past few months, and have finally placed them in my Winter Garden. If you look carefully you'll notice many Scala pieces like the award ribbon, the watering cans, the cloth rug, the chairs, the wicker baskets and the suitcase. Even the white cat waiting for the mouse on the chair. The coffee-table legs are linked via the Scala towel bar, a piece I had never heard of, but very interesting. I also added a couple of Fabuland utensils: the camera on the cabinet and the jerry can. There are many plants and flowers and I used different kind of utensil to create the plants supports (hockey sticks for the cactus, brooms for the ficus). There are many others details and NPU, have fun spotting them! It was very funny building it and it's something different from my usual comfort zone. Hope you like it!
  25. “The sweetshop’s rather good, and Zonko’s Joke Shop's frankly dangerous.” This MOC is of Zonko’s joke shop from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! The joke shop is located in the non-Muggle village of Hogsmeade, and, to Filch’s dismay, keeps Hogwarts students stocked with the most mischievous tricks Fred and George can get their hands on! Zonko's with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr The model is based off the recreation of Zonko’s joke shop in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book and film. Snow covers the roof of the build to capture the small village’s wintry appearance and stickers above the large red windows recreate the playful shop signage. Zonko's 5 with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr Inside the joke shop, the recognisable red and black flooring has been recreated using various shapes of tiles. The red shelves and window displays are adorned with fireworks, Fanged Frizbees, and stacks of joke boxes. Zonko's 2 with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr The shop continues on the upper floor, with fake magic wands and more boxes displayed in the windows. A large circular table with ice cream pieces takes pride of place. A trolley filled with tricks can be pushed along the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade. Zonko's 3 with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr Zonko's 4 with Logo by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr Here’s how it looks in real life! Zonko's Real Life by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr The journey of getting from “render to real life” began with a build on Bricklink Studio. From there, pieces were picked from our existing collection of LEGO. Any others were sourced on LEGO’s Bricks & Pieces service and Bricklink, or substituted for alternatives we already owned. The model was finally assembled when all pieces had been gathered. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcomed!
