    [MOC] Troll's bridge

Hi, this build is my way of trying out different tree building techniques as well as doing something with that minifigure (and justifying the purchase :P). Some say it's a gnome, but let's settle for troll for this build. I used water technique I tried out in my previous MOC here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=111354. I am particularly happy about the foliage right next to the river (and the carrot top usage :) ) I hope you'll enjoy this one. Full gallery is here: http://bricksafe.com...i/trolls-bridge

    Lions Mane Tower

I built this 2 months ago and only just realised that I hadn't posted it. Not much of a backstory, I was just experimenting with the waterfall technique.
  4. Hereby my entry to WZ3. Again, sorry for short post - posted by phone. // In the mountainous jungles of the Nestlands, a Ulandian official underway to a remote settlement to do a census and collect taxes, is now lost. While one guard is discussing what to do, the other is sneaking up on a rabbit. WZ3 by Beorthan, on Flickr Were they more observant and alert, they might have noticed the ambush about to be launched from the cliffs above. 5. Here is a fun way to make epic scenes using a very few number of pieces! Micro castle is awesome. Wade through danger Side Back That's MY treasure Side Microscale is really fun since you can build huge scenes with only 1/10th of the pieces! Helps on space and budget ;) I submitted this to LEGO Ideas, so it may even be made into a set one day! You can help make it happen if you vote for it here! Thank you for your time!

    Visiting Amfridus

This was an extremely fun build. I tilted the wood sections using ball joints, for the first time. The idea of the build was to create a wacky, and whimsical atmosphere. Hence the unusual colorscheme for the build. There's a full interior, and the elevator actually works. Also Amfridus has devised a bucket system whereby he procures water without leaving his home. Glorfindel's inventor friend, Gimcrack, was going to visit another inventor named Amfridus who lived in Avalonia. Glorfindel decided to accompany Gimcrack and see how the Mitgardian-Avalonian relations were faring after the recent crisis. Amfridus' home wasnt too far from the Mitgardian border, and they soon arrived at the winding path leading to Amfridus' tower and workshop: Amfridus, himself: His cave workshop: Bucket system, inside: See more pictures of the build here: link And see Gimcrack's house here: link C&C welcome

    [MOC] Elvin Manor

Hello, everyone, here is my most recent MOC which I will be adding to the CCC XII. A clan of elves live in a beautiful manor protected by the natural surrounding mountains and cliffs. They are currently being confronted by members of a friendly clan to settle a dispute. More pictures on my Brickshelf page.

  9. Book II Challenge III Category A Dwarves' Quest: Ancestors and Heroes Joining the Dwarves Disheartened by the Avalonians’ lack of response to the drow threat, Nimueh and Dark make their way north. Soon after crossing the border into Mitgardia, they came across a dwarven clan in the throes of battle preparation. Dwarf Chieftain: We march to war to put an end to the drow scum once and for all. Borders do not concern us. Nimueh: Nor should they. The drow are spreading quickly throughout Historica and need to be stopped. All Guilds should be joining the fight against the Spire and its minions. If you will have me, sir, I would join your war party and give what help I can. Dwarf Chieftain: Hmm… As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We will have what help is offered, you may join us. The march begins on the morrow; but right now we pay our respects. Here, beneath the Great Falls, lie our clan’s greatest heroes - the valiant fighters from battles past, we hope to do them proud in the days to come. The back of the build (where this particular clan buries their fallen heroes): The front: This was a fun one to do - I had planned on doing the water at the top of the falls, and at the back, using a cheese slope mosaic (like I did at the bottom of the falls in the front), but I very quickly ran out and had to switch to using plates instead. It's amazing how fast certain pieces can be used up, lol. Anyways, thanks for having a look . Comments/critiques are always appreciated.

  11. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: trees [Landscape Design], flowing water [Hydrology], and river scene [Geography]= 3 credits Fossgard river is famous for its many waterfalls, the most prominent of which is simply called Fossgard Falls. Many bridges span the river, and Infernum and Glorfindel are now crossing on one of the smaller bridges... "What do you think we're up against?" Infernum asked Glorfindel. "No idea, but I imagine we'll find out within several days. The border isn't far now," Glorfindel replied. "And whatever it is, we'll make it wish it had never come into Mitgardia." This was my first time building a waterfall that splits, and I also tried a new tree technique. All C&C welcome
  12. Hi guys, Finally worked out how to make a rainbow ! And incorporated it into my former MOC, Uni-Kitty's enchanted castle. Be ready for Built-Of-Lots-Of-Colours glory !! (The original thread's here.) (larger here ) (larger here)
  13. [CUUSOO] The Forbidden Pool - Combining Lord of the Rings and the Classic Forestmen Dear all, this is my very first CUUSOO project. The Lord of the Rings has taken me out of the dark ages, but one thing that I find lacking after the first two waves was a representation of the men of Gondor. Faramir, in particular, is my favourite Tolkien character, and I hope to see an official LEGO version of him in the future. This project is based on Henneth Annun, The Window on the Sunset, as it appeared in The Two Towers. I experimented a lot with the set and exchanged some play features - from a changing coloration of the inner waterfall (as featured in the book) to the current version with a secret entrance. My favourite LEGO sets as a child were the Forstemen sets, and Faramir's Rangers and their hideout reminded me of the green forest dwellers of the late 80s. I think this set is a realistic proposal for CUUSOO since it is not overly large and has the potential appeal to audiences from Lord of the Rings fans to young LEGO fans. I appreciate any comments! Cheers, Michael Link to the CUUSOO project: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/45646 Overview of the set. Henneth Annun by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I initially played with the idea of having a two-layered pool with a lever that shot fish around but abandoned it due to ever-incraesing piece count. Gollum in Pool better by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret entrance through the Waterfall. Henneth Annun - entrance through Window on the West by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret side entrance. Secret entrance by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr The floor can be pushed down to create a slope leading into the lower level of the cave. I intend to improve on this section once I have more bricks at my disposal. Ideally, I will have more furniture on the upper level and a hidden trapdoor leading down. This would also free some space on the bottom level for weapon racks and a smaller chamber to interrogate Gollum. Secret door by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr This play feature features the Ranger ambush on Gollum. A sliding plate moves the Ranger out of his cover to face Gollum. Ambush by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I'm not satisfied with the look of the map on the crate, yet - again due to limited space caused by the larger than intended slope. Faramir in cave by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Proposed minifigures: Frodo, Gollum and - photographed from the video game - Faramir, Madril and a Gondor Ranger. 14. The main focus of this build was the large waterfall, which features a new waterfall technique (more info on that later in this post). The small tower doesn't have an interior as there wasn't space for one with the SNOT design, but the larger towers do and the whole build opens up to reveal tunnels, rooms, and a stairway created by the dwarves. Credit for the snow on the bushes design goes to Brother Steven. Credit for the slope corners of the lower tower goes to Daniel Church. The Fossgard Falls are some of the most famous waterfalls in Historica. The dwarves of Fossgard have many tunnels and fortresses built around these falls, but are willing to allow sightseers from any of the guilds to come enjoy the falls' splendour: Left tower interior: Right tower interior: The waterfall design is quite simple, it uses mainly 3 pieces: clear 1x2 bricks, clear 1x2 plates, and clear 1x1 round plates. Using those pieces you build a wall 2 studs thick in front of white bricks. You use the white bricks to define the shape of the fall, for mine I used 6 studs as the width for the center of the fall, then stepped back a stud and did 4 studs wide on either side of the 6 studs, then stepped back another stud and did 2 studs wide on the outside edges of the 4 stud sections. While building the wall of clear, you attach 1x2 plates so that they stick out one stud from the rest of the wall every so often, and you put 1x1 round plates or cheese slopes on top of the protruding edge of the 1x2 plate. Also as you build the wall every three or four brick layers, you step the whole fall back a stud by moving the white bricks back one stud then keeping the clear wall in front only two studs thick. These two pictures should help show what I mean. This one shows the use of 1x2 plates and 1x1 round plates or cheese slopes in the waterfall: This picture shows how the fall steps back: Hopefully that long-winded description makes sense There are more pictures here: link Any Comments/Criticism greatly appreciated
  15. Hello All, Here is my entry into the Mini Castle Contest VIII over on classic-castle. Thanks to critiques, i have made it better, and I hope you think so to. I have found a way to get rid of my Brickarms pieces, and have made 2 ballistas instead! I have had immense fun with this creations, and I hope you like it! Enjoy! My second design, without using Brickarms. I was able to make 2 this time, and make it bigger. :D I quite like this one. If you look, I attached a minifig arm to the arrow, it fits nice and snug right in! Hopefully from this picture you can get a gist of how to make it, feel free to use it if you want. Soli Deo Gloria! ~Matthew Oh~
  16. About this creation Brick Battle Games Round 1: War is Upon Us! Required link to homepage, and to topic thread. Hello All, Well, here is my entry. Unfortunately, I kinda had to rush it, so it isn't exactly what I wanted to make, but it works. ;) This was also going to be my entry into the The Mini Castle Contest VII, but I found out that you can't use BrickArms in that contest. :( I will still use this foundation, but have changed the figs for that contest. (maybe the castle). That entry will be posted soon! Enjoy! My microscale Ballista. I am quite fond of this. ;) Here is the bottom, so that you can kinda see how I designed it. It is surprisingly sturdy, as I found out when it was accidentally dropped. :D One last overview picture. Soli Deo Gloria! ~Matthew

    Terrarium (Running Waterfall)

Welcome to a small piece of a tropical rainforest with a running waterfall, intricate rocks and exotic fauna inhabited by tree frogs, a chameleon and more. This build started as wanting to to have a running waterfall/fountain. We started with an upside down Belleville baseplate to hold the water, which also meant that the entire build was stared upside-down. The transition to going right side up was used to create various rock work and give us interesting angles. The pump and stickers are the only non Lego elements included. The background itself is taken from a Lego Chima poster. Video Walkthrough and running waterfall. The Red Eyed Tree frog is probably the most charismatic amphibian and something we have been wanting to build for a long time. So here's a detail shot of one of our favorite critters :) A small chameleon snags a fly in the corner of the tank :P Here's detail shot showing a water lilly, turtle and mossy log. :) Thanks for reading!

Future of SW Contest: Where's Solo?

This is my entry for the Future of Star Wars Contest in the small category. After spending a year recovering from his stay in the Sarlacc, Boba Fett is back and better than ever. Having heard that Han Solo has traveled to Mandalore to broker a deal for some Beskar to aid the Rebellion's war effort, Fett returns to his cultural homeland to resume the chase; only this time it's personal. At this point, Boba Fett has found the contact that Han is supposed to be meeting... "Fett? I thought you were dead!" "Rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated. Now where's Solo?" Meanwhile... "Hey Chewie, I wonder where our contact is?" "Hurghnnn..." "Yeah, I've got a bad feeling about this too." About the build: This is meant as a back alleyway behind the Oyu'baat pub in Keldabe, with the Kelita river going by. It's based on Karen Traviss's depiction of Mandalore rather than that of the Clone Wars TV series, I believe a grittier less metropolitan Mandalore better suits the people. I figure that if the TV series can throw EU continuity under the bus, the new movies can take precedence over the Clone Wars and restore the EU version of Mandalore. ;) Also, with the prize being offered in the vignette category, a Mandalorian MOC should have some advantage... Thanks to the Erdbeereis and the sponsors for holding such a great contest. Thanks for stopping by!

    Forest in Mitgardia

Just a peaceful scene of life in a Mitgardian forest. ----------------------------------------------------- I bought my little brother some leaves for his birthday (about a week before Christmas) and he got me some and some forestmen for Christmas, also I received a PAB cup with the red flowers and some grass. So we did this together to use the new pieces. Hope you enjoy :) All C&C welcome
