After the T3, i had to go further back in the models origin - to the more popular "T1", also known as "hippie bus" or "Bulli" (called in germany) Enjoy, feel the vibes and peace! Hello folks! Few weeks ago I presented my version of the VW T1: the canvas covered pick-up for Volkswagen Service. Now I show you my last MOC, an Oldtimer workshop for Volkswagen "Bulli family". The right place for my T1 (and not only...). Here some pictures: In order to build the internal of the workshop I watched my real garage where I used to spend a lot of time restoring and repairing old motorcycles and bicycles. There are many tools and details in the workshop. [ Last winter I spent many nights to build this workshop and I'm very satisfied with this MOC. Hi all, I had an idea to build this artwork for my wife as a present since she & her siblings traveled around in a T1 as a family, anyways my wife did not want it however I finished it all the same. Contains several rare parts, especially green, has been professionally framed using museum quality glass. I exhibited it at the recent Sydney Brick Show (Australia) with a great response, thousands of photos taken of it with most comments saying it is 'Cool'. The number plates are engraved along with the VW emblems (chrome plated then engraved) plus chrome plated tiles under the headlights & indicators - thanks to Auri @ Chrome Block City. Thanks to Andy Warhol for the inspiration. VW Transporter Mark 3 (WIP)

Hey Ladies and Gentlemen, at this point i can't hold myself back and present to you my new project. This is a VW T3 Flatbed. The features i've implemented so far are 4 wheel drive with full suspension on all wheels. The whole thing is driven at this moment by two XL-motors. It has already mounted a 4 cylinder Boxer engine just like the real one, which isn't connected to the drivetrain at this point in construction though. For the headlights i've used the orininal Lego PF LEDs but the taillights are soldered 5mm LEDs because i haven't got more of the original ones and they are a bit to expensive for me. Steering is realized via one Servomotor. Hope you enjoy it and if there is a good idea just say it. Rolf -
Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Bus

Some days ago some pictures was showed in this forum, and now it time to show the complete MOC. This van officially called "Type 2", is one of the most famous van in the world. Very popular in the 60's and known as the "hippies car" There are many versions of the Type 2, this one is of the BUS version, known as "11 windows", it is very easy know why ;) The real one: It is made in scale 1:7.8. The total size is: 66 studs of length, only 27 wide and 30 of high (53x22x25 cm) A complete bodywork with openable front doors, right side double door, and rear trunk and bonnet. Also the doors have lock, you need turn the door handle to open it. Working steering wheel and brake pedal. Like the Beetle both mechanisms auto-connect when you place the bodywork on the chassis. And now the best part: Like the real Type 2, this MOC uses the same Type 1 platform of my previous Beetle (more info here) MANUAL chassis on the left, and RC chassis on the right. The Manual chassis is like you can imagine, 4+R speeds manual gearbox. To use the chassis in the Beetle or in the T1 you only need to change the shift lever Short fotr the Beetle and long for the T1. The RC chassis is the same as my Beetle, 4+N+R sequential gearbox, also has motors for drive, steering and brakes If yoy want to the RC chassis in action the best way is see the complete Beetle video Like the manual chassis you only need to change the speed indicator to use it in the Beetle or in the T1 Some pictures of the platform-brothers Finnaly as always a little video For more info visit my website. -

[MOC] VOLKSWAGEN T2 BAY - "SURFER PICK-UP"

Hello folks, few weeks ago I presented my custom version of LEGO® set 10220 (VW T1 camper van), the “canvas pick-up” for road service. After having built it I decided to design and create the model that replaced it, the iconic VW T2, introduced in late 1967 and built in Germany until 1979. The T2 is also called Bay or Bay Window. The T2 has surely been the most loved van/pick-up by the surfers of all the world. So I placed two surfboards on the load compartment and I put close to it a classic LEGO® palm tree from pirates series. Here some pictures: Below: my T2 is in my garage for a check. “Run for it, Marty!” I hope you like this MOC of the VW camper driven by the Libyan terrorists in the opening movie of the ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy. It was based around a similar camper in yellow which I found on Reddit, made by legopirate85 (on imgur). An LDD file is available upon request!

Volkswagen Beetle (Type 1)

Here is my lastest car. The classic Volkswagen Beetle, officialy called Type 1, or informally in some places around the world the VW Bug. This car received a lot of modifcations and improvements along the years, I have built the 1967 model. This car is made in scale 1:7.8. The total size is: 65 studs of length, only 25 wide and 23 of high (50x20x18 cm) The weight is 2.5 kgs, with around 3000 parts and 5 motors. As always it includes some remote controlled functions: - Steering (M motor) - Drive (2 XL motors) - Sequential gearbox (PF Servo motor) - Brakes (M motor) The sequential gearbox is a modified version of the Mustang's gearbox (3rd Gen V2), with 4+N+R speeds and as always with auto-clutch. The speeds ratio: R - 1.25:1 1 - 1.25:1 2 - 1:1 3 - 1:1.33 4 - 1:1.67 The max speed in 4th speed is 4 kph (~2.5 mph) It has a gear indicator in the interior, between the front seats. Boxer-4 fake engine under the rear bonnet. The bodywork Also you can disassembly the bodywork removing only 5 pins, do it is very easy and fast. A complete bodywork with openable doors, front trunk bonnet and and rear engine door. Also the doors have lock, you need turn the door handle to open it. It has 4 full size seats and folding front seats. The suspension is based in the real one: front rigid beam independent suspension axle and rear swing axle. Also the front axle has stabilizer bar. The steering has ackerman geometry and working steering wheel. The car also has working brakes in all wheels: disc brakes in the fron and drum brakes in the rear. In addition it includes functional brake pedal. Now the "most wanted" picture for technic fans. hey all, I've been working on some more minifig scale volkswagens, thought i'd share. I have posted a Westfalia camper before here... http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=94600 but these are a bit different, especially the Jagdwagen. The first one is modeled after my own van, a 1987 syncro passenger van with a Country Homes Camper pop top on it. here's a picture of my real van for reference... http://imgur.com/qcAJX6T I won't show a bunch of pictures of this one, since it's not a lot different from the red westy I posted before, but here's the exterior... and the interior.... Now the Jagdwagen is a bit different. Jagdwagen's were custom ordered models from the factory which were outfitted for hunting. Jagdwagen roughly translate to 'hunting car', and one major option that really makes them stand out is the full exterior cage. These were simply brush guards, not full on roll cages, but still, they look pretty awesome. For reference, here's a real VW Jagdwagen... Here's my Lego Jagdwagen.... I went a bit outside the rules on the front bars that attach to the fence/bull bar. They are made from a 6 long bar that i bent and cut to fit in that space. A 4 long bar sort of worked just resting on the top of the bull bar but this solution was a bit more solid. Working with green can get expensive! the lamp holder plates were like $2 each!!! but I had to have them. I wanted to use some other parts to make the side and tail gate hinges, but only one side of the notched hinges were available in green, so i had to go with some other options, and even with those I had to compromise since my second choice was also a hard to find part that was going for $4/each (i needed 6, so no thanks) One upside with the limited selection of green happened because even though there is a 1 x 4 with 4 Studs on 1 Side brick in green, they were only in like one or two weird sets. So they were very hard to find and when i looked no one had more than 1 and most were in Europe. This forced me to consider other options. Then i remembered good old Technic bricks, even though they have holes on both side the ability to use the stud inserts on both sides allowed me to have my trim on the outside and some faux door panels on the inside which adds a nice touch to the interior... anyway, enjoy and feel free to give any feedback or criticism. cheers droo

Volkswagen T1 Road Service - Canvas Pick-Up

Hello folks, I'm a "fresh" member and I hope this is the right place to present my last MOC. It's a custom version of the VW T1: a "road service" canvas pick-up. In 2011 I bought the set # 10220, I think it’s a well detailed and shaped set. Furthermore I like vintage vehicles and especially the Bulli (even called Samba or Kombi). I haven't bought original LEGO sets for many years and It has been a pleasure to have a new LEGO box in my hands. Personally I prefer “working vehicles” and I wasn’t satisfied with the camper version. I waited to build it until I had the idea to build a canvas pick-up for “road service”. So last winter I built my own version of the T1 and last week I took some pictures. Maybe someone of you has already seen it on my flickr stream or Mocpages (and on The Lego Car Blog). My T1 has two side doors below the load compartment; two shovels for road emergencies are mounted on the doors. Two spare wheels, a fuel tank and a wooden box with various tools are positioned on the rack. The plate is an italian one and the numbers are the original ones of a real T1 (I like the old Italian plate style). Two HELLA supplemental lights are fitted on the front bumper. A sticker with the VW Bobble Head mascot is positioned on the canvas, I love it! Without the canvas, the T1 is a funny pick-up to carry "oversize" load. The floor is made of "wooden" plates. MOC: MINIFIG-SCALE VW CAMEPERVAN. Topic includes Incredibly silly backstory. Caution: May contain nutters. After being sold by an american billionare, this VW Campervan found it's way to a small auction house in a small town called Mayhead City, where it was "accidentally" bought by Dave (the guy on the right) for the grand sum of £20,000. Dave, being Dave, said he didn't have this kind of money just lying around the house, and ended up having to sell his own home to pay for the campervan and avoid being taken to court by the auction house. With no place to live, Dave decided after trying to sleep in the campervan to phone his only friend Jay (the guy on the right), a calm and cautious brickfilmer, and ask beg him to stay at his house for 'a bit'. After 16 whole minutes, Jay reluctantly let Dave stay there with him as long as he replaced the VW logo on the front of the campervan with the Imperial Crest from Star Wars and stopped playing the guitar badly (Dave always thought that he was the plastic incarnation of Jimi Hendrix, but he was in fact the opposite). Two weeks after Dave moved in, this happened in the middle of Mayhead City: After this incident, Dave's guitar 'mysteriously' disappeared from their house, and no-one (except the bin-men) know about it's true whereabouts. hey all, i'm new to eurobricks, but after recently getting into a house with lots of space (after 5 years of traveling and living in an RV) i have finally set up a lego area and have started to go nuts with doing MOCs. my first one is this late 80's Syncro VW Westy (vw vans is my other passion :). i thought i'd share and get some feedback from you guys. i've revised it a bunch of different times, but i'm open to feedback or suggestions. of course it's all lego, but i did do one odd thing. the tires are the 24x12 ballon tires stretch to fit on the 14's. i just felt the 12 rims were too small and out of scale, but i liked the tires. i've looked in LDD extended and can't find any offroad tires for those rims, does anyone know of any? anyway, enjoy... interior... white version... on this one i included a jerry can... cheers! drew

This one has been sitting in my basement too for a couple of years, and though it is not yet completed, i thought it was time to post it. It is a VW Transporter, standard ambulance of the Copenhagen Fire Department. It needs an interior and some stickers, then it will be done.
