  1. Following the release of the LEGO Voltron Set, LEGO Ideas had this contests (It's long over now, so I am a little late to post this :D) to build the most imaginative Voltron scene. My entry features the Green Lion casually reading a book inside it's tree trunk bunk, while the alien bunnies are messing with the Green Lion's stuff. I built this scene in digital, but after it's done, it made me wish I had this right on my desk! It also took me 2 weeks to build, (it was hard, there was a deadline...) but I still made it as a Runner-Up winner! Enjoy (:D More images can be found here
  2. What a fantastic set! I picked up this set on the 23rd and completed it last night. I built one lion each night to extend the enjoyment! I decided to omit the stickers. Actually I decided to REMOVE the stickers after I already applied a few. Reason being is I watched a few episodes on YouTube this week and didn't see the numbers on the lions. I can't recall the details from 35 years ago, but I don't remember the lions being numbered. The episodes I watched didn't show numbered lions. Some of the press releases say the US version of the cartoon had numbered lions, but again it doesn't ring a bell. I'm curious as to what others are going to do, so feel free to share the following: What country are you from? Do you recall the lions being numbered? Will you number the lions or leave the stickers off?
  3. Alright, now that LEGO has announced 21311 Voltron, the first ever LEGO set to be based on an anime series originally from Japan, I can imagine LEGO doing an anime adaptation of their properties. My pick would be Bionicle: The Mata-Nui Saga! Based on the Mata-Nui timeline, Season 1 could cover the 2001 storyline, Season 2 covering 2002, Season 3 with 2003 and onwards. If LEGO ever decides to remake their classic Bionicle sets as a tie-in, I think it'd be pretty interesting to see. Oh, and believe it or not, the word "Bionicle" can also be translated into Japanese! バイオニクル - Baionikuru Does anyone think Bionicle could work out as a Japanese anime as long as it stays true to the source material?
  4. From days of long ago, from the uncharted regions of the nerdy-verse, comes a legend, the legend of Nerdtron: Defender of the 80's! A mighty robot loved by good, feared by evil! This totally tubular titan is comprised of some of the most iconic pop culture vehicles of the 80's, such as the Ecto-1, Delorean time machine, A-Team Van, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon, and Nerdly forms the head. Sporting a glorious mullet, shoulder pads, and a walkman, our heroic 80's icons are ready to take on the Shredder, Biff, ghosts, or any other evil foe that threatens our nostalgia! This is my entry for the Nerdvember contest on Bricknerd. It was inspired by an illustration that I came across in an image search. If this isn't the nerdiest, most 80's thing you've ever seen, I don't know what is! Nerdtron: Defender of the 80's by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Here he is, ready to spring into action! Nerdtron back by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr When he's not fighting crime, Nerdtron likes to relax and listen to some rad 80's tunes on his walkman. Even giant robots need a break sometimes. Nerdtron disassembled by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr I had a lot of fun designing 6-wide versions of these iconic vehicles, so let's take a closer look at them. First up we have the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future. The 6-wide Ghostbusters Ecto-1 of course! This one was the most detailed and most challenging one to build at this scale. 5. Over the past several months, the LEGO Review Board has carefully reviewed 12 projects that reached 10,000 supporters between September 2016 and January 2017, our third review qualification period of 2016. Sanne, our Project Manager, shares the results from LEGOLAND in Billund: Ship In A Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan. A big congratulations to JakeSadovich77 on becoming the next official LEGO Ideas fan designer! As an avid LEGO builder, Jacob Sadovich was inspired to create his LEGO Ship in a Bottle, The Flaship Leviathan, following a real-life ship in a bottle that he had built just a few years ago. We’re really excited to be able to introduce Jacob's Ship in a Bottle, The Flashship Leviathan set for its unique approach to what official LEGO sets can look like. If you'd like to learn more about Jacob then make sure to check out his 10K Club Interview. Voltron - Defender of the Universe A big congratulations to len_d69 on becoming the next official LEGO Ideas fan designer! Leandro’s passion for Voltron started at a very young age when his parents bought him a Voltron toy. From that moment on Leandro was hooked. Building with LEGO bricks allowed Leandro to celebrate his passion for Voltron - Defender of the Universe even more. We’re really excited to be able to introduce Leandro’s Voltron - Defender of the Universe set. Leandro’s project sets itself apart for its creative way to build with LEGO bricks. If you'd like to learn more about Leandro then make sure to check out his 10K Club Interview.
