  1. The Adventures of Professor Boom (part 1) by Luis Baixinho, on Flickr This is a small vignette that I made for a contest at my LUG, Comunidade 0937. I have plans to use this minifig in other situations.
  2. Here's my Phase 1 build for the storehouse category in Age of Mitgardia. I limited myself to an 8x8 base size for this build, and was mainly trying to make a realistic looking cellar entrance. Fruit cellars are commonly used in Mitgardia to store food, and other goods. Rats can become problematic, but it looks like this one's food stealing days are over: See more pictures here: link Comments and suggestions welcome

    [MOC] Skater Vignette

Due to a more relaxed atmosphere during holidays, I was able to bust out my LEGO collection after almost a year of inactivity. While current MOCs are not presentation-ready, I've been meaning to share some of my old vignettes. Hereby presenting Grinding Skater Vignette, with CMF Skater Boy doing his favourite railing grind trick. C&Cs welcome!
  4. At the end of the road, a viaduct rises above the gloomy hilly terrain, leading to the gates of a white castle whose elegant tall towers seem to compete with the very mountain peaks...
  5. Halloween is round the corner. Seasonal sets are always widely received, regardless of whether you celebrate it or not. This is the first seasonal vignette released in Singapore. As such, queues were long and stocks always ran out within 2 hours of restocking. Vignettes seem to be more popular than the brick built animal seasonal sets, like the 40090 Halloween Bat. Interesting point to note, all of the seasonal vignettes do not introduce new colours for existing moulds, or new prints for minifigures. Nevertheless, they always include semi rare parts, like the olive green stems as well as offer great re- use of minifig parts, like this pirate torso. Name: 40122 Trick or Treat Halloween Set Theme: Seasonal/ Exclusive Year: 2015 Pieces: 133 Minifigs: 2 minifigures Price: £8.49/ $9.99/ 18.90 SGD Resources: Brickset, Bricklink Rebrickable Inventory: http://brickset.com/...2-1/rebrickable LEGO Official Shop@Home Description Dress up as a witch for a Trick or Treat fright night! Role-play an eerie Halloween scene with this spooky LEGO® Trick or Treat set! Dress up the girl minifigure as a witch, complete with pointy hat and broom, and take a bucket for the treats you hope to receive. Tiptoe past the bat perched on top of the dead tree to the doorstep of the haunted house. Watch out for the big spider and the tombstone on the front porch and be prepared for a big fright when a skeleton answers the door! Includes 2 minifigures with assorted accessories: a female and a skeleton. Includes 2 minifigures with assorted accessories: a female and a skeleton Features a buildable haunted house entrance scene including an opening door, tombstone, plus assorted elements including a spider, pumpkins and sickly green plants Also includes a dead tree with a bat and pumpkin elements Role-play a spooky Halloween scene! Creep past the bat in the dead tree Get a fright when a skeleton answers the door! A perfect Halloween gift for LEGO® lovers Measures over 3” (8cm) high, 2” (6cm) wide and 2” (6cm) deep Image of original box: It was deboxed and flattened on the spot and put in my file. As a young AFOL, I couldn't bring myself to lug LEGO boxes to college, even for a short 1 hour. I enjoyed the various role play scenes on the back of the box. The lack of a theme logo like "Limited edition 2015" may suggest it may make a comeback next year. Purely my own speculation. After all, sets like Birthday Table Decoration had an extremely short shelf life, but on S@H, it says it is in production. Last year's halloween bat made a comeback this year, in my local stores. Front: Back: Random page of instructions: Here are the sealed bags. Eyes lit up upon earth green plates.. haven't had those in my collection since Winter Village Post Office.. Everything laid out. This is quite therapeutic. Some parts of interest My first 65 2 x 1 x 2 slope. Surprise find was the dark orange brick with stud on side. Didn't think they'll include that colour in a halloween theme set.. The olive green stem is solid, for those who didn't know. Had always thought they were rubbery. One of those nice elements you can't help but wish they included more. Finished build. The roof looks smoother than expected, but the tip is a bit off. The centre should have had another 1 x 2 plate before putting the double slope. But what's LEGO for, if you don't customise things. The transparent brick and plates were used nicely. This is a good time I seen it being used, other than stained glass windows. *cough* Pet Shop *cough* I love the miniature pumpkins. Always nice to have plain minifig heads. Small tree build is beautiful. 4 x 3 leaves simple and elegantly placed. If they had the bigger leaves instead, it would look out of proportion. Spare parts. They gave extra bones. Pleasant surprise. After all, this is my first skeleton since 1997.. "Trick or treat" Old and new skeleton..from 1997 Witch's Magic Manor. I like the new torso mould. Now the arms are posable. The old hands were great for play though. Used to connect 2 arms together and treat him like a gorilla, since they swing freely. Now I just take pictures. Size comparison The height seems to be standardised for vignettes. Around 8 studs tall. Personal thoughts: At first I had no intention of getting the halloween or thanksgiving sets. Only wanted the 2 christmas ones. However after looking through the parts list.. price per part was pretty good, and I needed something small to practice for Reviewer's Academy. Previous submission hasn't been graded, so I posted this here. I love the colour combination of purple and black as the primary colours. Much better than orange and black, which tends to be overused around this season. As a town builder, this is a great set for inspiration on how to beautify your door fronts. Summary Review: Playability: 7/10 (Lots of knock knock jokes) Design: 7/10 (Roof is a little off, but transparent colours used to great effect) Parts: 8/10 (They were great, but none exclusive, and no printed tiles) Minifigures: 8/10 (Detailed back printing, no dual face print, but nice hat) Price: 8/10 (Great price per part, not the best. But the best always comes in big sets..) Overall: 8/10 (A solid affordable set)

  9. This is actually one of the first MOC's I have ever made. Unfortunately, I no longer have it with me. So these bad pictures will have to do. I Know this isn't The greatest MOC, but I think it is nice. But what do you think? C&C welcome.
  10. This '8x8 Vingnette' concept is based on the #40120 Valentine's Day Dinner and #40121 Painting Easter Eggs. It's a great way to display minifigures and show different scenes. This model is based on Stephen's iconic studio from 'The Brick Show.' It features all the main details such as the minifigure wall, brown desk with a LEGO Apple, table with a PC monitor, spinning chair, LEGO City boxes on the floor, white storage unit with a UCS Sandcrawler and two Brick Show stickers. The Stephen minifigure needs printing of 'The Brick Show' logo as well as on the two 'Flat Tile 1x2.' It's not necessary but I feel the computer monitor should have a sticker to show the screen and the LEGO City box. Any other graphics will take away the charm of this '8x8 Vingnette' concept. Would you purchase this kit and realistically how much would you pay if the torso printed and the stickers? I would say it would cost £15-£20 without the figures and stickers; if those are included I would increase the price to £20-£25. Let me know and if it get's enough requests at those prices I may join with 'The Brick Show' once again and sell them as kits :) I really hope you enjoyed this in MOC; feedback and criticism is much appreciated. [MOC] Hey, no cutting in line!

Hi all. Ever since I got these golden gates I've had this idea in my head. I got the Hawkman minifig recently who had the perfect wings for it so I finally got round to building it. Hope ya like it :D "Hey no cutting in line!"
  12. This model is based on Jason's studio from 'The Brick Show.' It features all the main details such as the the lime green and blue walls, white desk with a Sopwith Camel set and an IPad stand, white stool, three LEGO City boxes on the floor, brown storage unit with a Volkswagen T1 Camper Van, Two shelves with two baseballs, LEGO apple, 'Buzz and Woody To The Rescue' set, Minecraft Micro World and one Brick Show sticker. The Jason minifigure needs printing of 'The Brick Show' logo as well as on the two 'Flat Tile 1x2.' It's not necessary but I feel the IPad should have a sticker to show the screen and the LEGO City and Toy Story boxes. Any other graphics will take away the charm of this '8x8 Vingnette' concept. I really hope you enjoyed this in MOC; feedback and criticism is much appreciated. 13. This '8x8 Vingnette' concept started with 'The Dark Knight - Interrogation Scene' vignette which was based on the #40120 Valentine's Day Dinner and #40121 Painting Easter Eggs. This one represents the 'AMC Movie Talk' studio in Burbank, California. The hardest part was to make it accurate as possible due to is contemporary design and curves, such as the table and back wall. This would include three minifigures: John Campea, Jon Schnepp and Dennis Tzeng. I have avoided the graphics on the faces since it's a nightmare to find them on LEGO Digital Designer. It would also include three AMC logo patches and one laptop. This one needs a few stickers and gaphics to make it more accurate such as the screens and the graphics on the walls. I wanted to post this week since yesterday was John Campea's last show. I will definitely will re-upload this when I own the parts and design the stickers and graphics. Render Time: 8 Hours AMC Movie Talk: https://YouTube.com/AMCTheatres I really hope you enjoyed this MOC; feedback and criticism is much appreciated. Adeel
  14. This '8x8 Vignette' concept started with 'The Dark Knight - Interrogation Scene' vignette, which as based on the #40120 Valentine's Day Dinner and #40121 Painting Easter Eggs. This is loosely base on the #76005 Daily Bugle Showdown set. I didn't want to have the set displayed but the top floor I had to keep as it was the highlight if the set. I have changed the design of the the office and the exterior of the top floor and kept is simple and small as possible as it could be whilst using all the cool stickers used in the building. 'MOC: J Jonah Jameson's Office - 8x8 Vignette' Album: https://www.flickr.c...157653583747370 I really hope you enjoyed this MOC; feedback and criticism is much appreciated. Adeel

    MOC: Dental Work

I whipped together a vignette for my photo a day project. If you have a fear of dentistry, hit the back button on your browser now. It has some simple play features like the chair rotates and has head and feet tilt adjustments. There is a sink for blood and spit; drawers for instruments of pain. A laptop in case of getting stuck and having to Google the procedure. She has a degree from LEGO to practice. Let's see what kind of pain gain we can do today with a jackhammer on tartar. [MOC] The End Vignette

Hey everyone! This is my first MOC post on EB, hope the community likes it! I only have one picture at the moment of it, due to problems taking photos a different part of the vignette. This is meant to be a small little part of the zone in Minecraft, known as "The End". It hosts (as you'd guess) the optional end game. The final battle is an Ender Dragon, who is accompanied by Endermen. But do enjoy! The End Vignette by The Nightingale, on Flickr C&C welcome!
  21. This is a very old vignette that I decided to photograph today. Hopefully there will be coming more photo's of old MOC's of mine soon. Looks like the cyclopses are blocking the path to the temple that's just standing there on the rocky hill to be raid. Will the men of Monster Raiders get past them and prevail???

    [LDD/MOC] Boston Blizzard Blues

I have shoveled my truck out of massive snow banks about once every three days for the last month and watched other cars get completely buried to the point of no return. People are cross-country skiing to work. On days where there isn't a citywide parking ban for snow removal, the sheer amount of snow piled up has basically eliminated street parking. Local mass transit has been down so long, they're literally paying anybody who shows up to shovel snow off the aboveground tracks. Of the literally six days I've been able to get to work this month, my half-hour rail commute has stretched to as many as three hours (and yes, I simply walked at some points). I think this quick little ditty sums up how we all feel at the moment. (By the way, this is my first-ever vig) Aiming to build this IRL some day (if the Post Office ever shovels themselves out). .lxf attached for those who want to explore a bit (I have to say, those new Mixel "teeth" bits are great for snow detailing! Stay warm out there. SNOWVIG.lxf

    Vignette: Book Store

I found myself with a few hours free today, so got the LEGO out as you do and made my first Vignette. Its not very complicated or detailed but it was nice to try something new and I have a few ideas for others I can do another time. LEGO Vignette - Book Store by Crustyfur, on Flickr
  25. I can hear them. In the distance, the group of Rebels that shot us out of the sky and forced us into this gorge. It’s quite beautiful here, but something gruesome is about to happen. We don’t have a lot of time. “They have a laser cannon with them. I bet that was what shot us out of the sky. It slows them down though. They won’t attack until they have its support here.” [soNE Ep. VII] What you can't do by Bert.VR, on Flickr “I can take out those troops, but I won’t stand a chance with that cannon here. They will just shoot and make us an icy grave. Someone needs to take it out. Someone needs to find a way around that armour.” I already feel what’s coming. I’m the only one with a precision blaster. I’m the only one who knows how to handle it. “Tyrus and I will stay here. I’ll try to get those troops to leave the safety of the cannon. The bends in this gorge will prevent that cannon from shooting from a distance, so they’ll be without cover. Even though they’re Rebels, they’re not stupid, I guess. So they won’t go too far ahead. It only spreads their attack out, and what’s more, it will draw their attention. But whatever you do, officer VeR, stay low when you hide in the top floor of that building there. Wait until you get a clear shot at the gunner. You won’t get a second chance. And shoot before they do. That’s our only chance of survival. Now quickly, take your position. Tyrus, you stay here with me. Let’s give them a surprise.” It’s clear how agent An rose through the ranks so quickly. I can’t see a better way to save ourselves. But I have to do it. I have to pull the trigger. If I don’t, we’re dead. I have to do it. No time for compassion, no time for reason. What a beautiful building. I can see a haunting glow coming through the hallway, but that’s not the way I have to take. The ancient stairs take me to the place where it’ll have to become thirteen. Just as I squeeze myself into a dark corner with a good view of the bridge, agent An makes eye contact and starts shouting, starts shooting. And hides. [soNE Ep. VII] No time for architecture by Bert.VR, on Flickr The shouting grows louder, and a Rebel appears from around the corner. It’s the first time I actually see a Rebel trooper. I only took out fighters. He could be one of my comrades. But he isn’t. He wants to kil lus, and so do the other Rebels that start crossing the gap to examine the shouting. Soon, they will be no more. Agent An prepares to take them out. I can just wait, watch and shiver. There’s nothing I can do. Nothing I can do to avoid the killing. Nothing I can do to stop this war. Now, I can only do what I need to do to survive. The cannon is here. [soNE Ep. VII] It's what I can't do that makes me who I am by Bert.VR, on Flickr I have to do it. But can I do it? The shot is possible, especially with this particular blaster… A blaster that once was thrown away to save a life. A blaster that was used to talk about bravery in battle. A blaster that was given to me to be brave. To take this one shot. It was an object of battle, but the acts of a very special person made it an object of love. But that’s not how people saw it. That’s not how my parents saw it. That’s as I can’t see it right now. It has to become an object of horror once again. My finger is around the trigger. If I shoot, my shot will only make two victims. The Rebel will die, a part of me will die, for the thirteenth time. If I don’t shoot, my comrades will be killed. I will, eventually, be killed. One against three. It can’t be clearer. Do it. Make it thirteen. It won’t stay with one dead Rebel. The thought resonates through my head. If I shoot, not only the one Rebel I hit will be killed. Not only the others will be killed by my comrades. Hundreds, thousands, millions will die. If I kill, it will be yet another death in the long, interrupted chain of killings in this terrible war. It will hit the next homino and war will keep raging, the horrible killing will continue. Who knows where it’ll end. Don’t do it. Don’t make it yet another million. If I shoot, I’ll lose all hope of ever defeating war. It can’t be vanquished by always more killing and killing. It can only be vanquished by throwing away this blaster. If I shoot, no matter what someone will get killed and war will have yet another victory. And if I don’t… There’s an overwhelming chance I might die and war will have yet another victory. But if those Rebels decide not to shoot as well… If we, by some kind of beautiful Force, would now decide to throw our weapons down, war would be defeated. It can’t be clearer. If I shoot, I will lose all hope. If I don’t, I might lose my life. If I do, I will lose all hope. I’ll destroy everyone else’s hope that this war might come to a peaceful end, that all wars might come to an end right here, right now. It has never been so clear. It’s what I can’t do that makes me who I am. I can’t pull this trigger. But that gives me so much more power than someone who can. Finally, after months of ‘training’, of dedicating myself to this cause, I can’t kill. It’s something that a lot of people never learn. Everyone’s always busy to learn to do new things. No one ever wonders what they have to learn not to do. But I did. And there’s a minuscule chance it might stop this war. With what we can’t do, we can change the world. My thoughts never rushed so quickly as in this moment. And yet, I’ve never felt more enlightened. In these buildings, made by a civilization I believe was captured by that same light. Yes, that’s what these buildings were made for. But now, they’re going to be destroyed. The cannon still hasn’t fired. I wonder… But the gunner has his finger around the trigger. But I have hope. I’m prepared to die, because if I don’t, the world will be a very different place. [soNE Ep. VII] How to survive by Bert.VR, on Flickr __________________________ This blaster has become a symbol of love and hope once again. I called Alderaan my home. It’s where I was raised. It’s where my parents were raised. It’s where my great-granduncle threw this blaster away. To many people, Alderaan is the most peaceful planet possible. But not entirely. People of my planet always had that sense for opposition somewhere inside them. It’s one of the reasons they were the only ones to stand against this Empire, to no avail. That opposition was especially strong in my family. For generations, we stood against the rule of Alderaan. The reason why didn’t matter much. There’s always a fault to be found. There’s always the need for someone going in against the tide. That’s what my family stood for. That’s what they took up the weapons. Almost exactly a hundred years ago, the conflict culminated, and there were several coordinated attacks on the existing rule. They might have had their reasons, but that’s not of importance. Two brothers, my great-granduncles, fought in the army the opposition formed at the time. The resistance against the cruel acts of the opposition grew and grew, and a civil war broke out. The attacks grew more and more violent, more and more people died, and conflict without near end began. Both camps dug their selves in, with the occasional raid boosting the number of casualties. And in this conflict, the two brothers remained as close as two brothers can be. They looked after each other. When the oldest returned after a raid, only to found his brother hadn’t, it became apparent that they loved each other more than they hated the enemy. Ignoring the orders of his superiors, he threw his blaster away and ran back to the battlefield, to find his dear brother. War didn’t bother him, he only cared about his brother. He was killed, and found with the dead body of his brother in his arms. [soNE Ep. VII] Past - No blaster, no bravery by Bert.VR, on Flickr This story has been told countless times in my family, but not quite in this version. The only thing that mattered, was the bravery of the brother. Without fear of the enemy, he returned to the battlefield, even when it was not his to fight on. His blaster became the ultimate symbol of his bravery. It was passed on in my family. Until was passed on to me. The brother had no fear of the enemy. My family said because of his total hate for his enemy. I say because of the total love for his brother. I always opposed my family. But they only encouraged it. Opposition is key, they said. They didn’t see I wasn’t opposing what they stood for. I was defending what I think was right. The blaster came to me, and they got me a post in the Imperial army. It would give me the opportunity to oppose the opposition to the established order, what I liked to do according to them. I had nothing to say in it. And since everyone on Alderaan is gone, I had no place to go to, nothing else to do. But now I do, no longer armed with this blaster. It has become a symbol of love and hope once again. _______________________ Well, take a deep breath, that was it. I hope you enjoyed the story and please spare it some thoughts. Let me know what you think. This was built in quite a hurry, with the festivities and the exams. Because of that, the past scene isn't nearly finished. There should be more buildings in the background, and a more elaborate dropship. I hope you can see beyond those failures though, and enjoy what's there. This build and this story is a collaboration with fellow Imperials Lord Tyrus and goatman461. Thank you guys for all the inspiration! I hope there is still a lot to come. If you still can read, check out their topics here: Stranded, by Lord Tyrus (prequel to this story) War Hammer, by goatman461 (happening simultaneously with this story) Rescue Mission, by Commander Beltar (giving a glimpse how this story continues...) And to finish, as always, the LXF file is availble through this link. PS: the story of the two brothers is based on actual events. A hundred years ago, in the First World War, mygreat-granduncles, the Van Raemdonck brothers, went through a simular tragedy. Their act of love is used as a symbol of the Flemish movement to this day. So you see: my stories don't just belong to a galaxy far far away. I hope this is a proper tribute to them. Learn more about them on Wikipedia, and this page has a nice picture, and if you translate it, the whole story. PPS: here is a short version for everyone who has little time or trouble with English:
