  1. *This entry has earned 9 XP* Here is my stealth special forces V-Wing.
  2. A long, long time ago I started working on a micro scale Millennium Falcon. To begin with all I wanted to do was add detail to the Microfighter but I kept tinkering and before I knew it I had a growing collection of micro Star Wars freighters and fighters, and here they are! Instructions for all these little builds are on my Rebrickable page. Since this all started with that Falcon Microfighter the cockpit piece (a light blueish-grey 2x2 truncated cone) became my yardstick for scale. Luckily trans-black 1x1 slope pieces work as fighter cockpits at the same scale so all the ships are, and will continue to be, as close to scale with each other as I can manage, at least based on these pieces and whatever reference images I can gather from Google. My Blockade Runner (April 2021) is the last ship on my micro Star Wars to-do list, although it’s hardly micro! The size and weight were a new challenge for me, I’ve never had to worry about a moc falling apart under its own weight before, but I enjoyed the challenge and managed to make it pretty easy to pick strong. I’ve put together instructions for the Tantive IV as well as the Liberator from Star Wars Rebels, which I couldn’t resist building for myself. Rather than doing new posts for each new ship I’ll edit the very long post below. All the instructions are on my Rebrickable page and there are photos and Studio renders some photos of the ships in this post, plus a few more on Flickr and Instagram. Thanks for looking!
  3. So, I recently picked up the Imperial version of the V-wing, 7915. The first thing that struck me about it, as well as the other versions about this ship (apart from it being gorgeous and a little odd) was that none of them have room to fit the whole astromech in. So I thought I'd change that. https://imgur.com/a/PeDdZ I also made a few further changes; extending the lower fins by two studs with some smooth pieces to give them a little more mass and stability, slight changes to the side of the cockpit so that the canopy is closed and changes to the cockpit itself so the pilot has a console. I've also beefed up the blasters, they don't fall of as easily and the awkward exposed studs are covered. The mechanism to have the wings rotate in tandem is gone to fit the droid, but I've still put a technic pin in, this provides some friction to the wings, so they still rotate but not spin freely, and gives them some security. I think they also sit a good distance from the fuselage. The deflector shield heat sinks I think could be longer? Pictures of the ship have them covering the engine exhausts a bit more than I have here, I might go back and change this, maybe 2 studs longer? Not sure if anything more than this would take them out of proportion (Lego proportions that is) and I don't want them being too bulky. I'm happy-ish with the top of the rear, I wanted to keep detailing to a minimum because it's a Republic era design, but made in the rise of the empire so vents, grills, details would be more prevalent. I've used the gun tower power vent from the Attack on Hoth set, mainly because it was the right shape, but I think the print helps. The engines themselves I'm not too happy with and will definitely go back and play around with these, as well as the underside of the rear fuselage. I don't like the flat bottom, but it's supporting the rest of the rear. It's here you can see I've only added a few studs to the overall length. I'm a little concerned the ship as a whole is now too long for how big it should be, I may see about shortening the nose. I'm also considering trying to get more of a slope to the nose, without making the whole thing too thick, thoughts? Any ideas or constructive feedback much appreciated, there will be updates as I play around with it. Anyone else doing something similar?
  4. Hey there! Have not really been online much, but thought to go ahead and post stuff that I have been building so far. At one point, I was planning on building a Pirate/oriental port with wooden walls and docks for my ships... then got lazy and added a laser turret atop one of the buildings and turn it to a place for most of my ships to park. Then I obtained what I thought was a 75192 Millennium Falcon to go with my 10179 Falcon. Sadly I was dupped and it is from a group called Star Plan (Or might as well be Lepin). But.... I decided to still go with it, and maybe turn it to another YT-1300 variant down the road when I finish the stockish set. Possibly add more of a interior. There are some points in the build where the instructions tell you to put the bricks one way... but the moldings won't physically allow it to work. So I am forced to go my own way on some points. Along with my YT-1300 collection I got my A-wings and V-wings and other ships. Down the road I might go to try building an actual star port for all of them... and maybe mix in the oriental buildings into the setting as much as I can lol. But yea... hope you enjoy the following pictures. The A-wings V-wings and other ships. The "real" Lego MFs. My first YT variant next to the origional MF set. A simple mirror swap and re situating the dish. Then a change of the interior. Unfortunately no pictures of the inside... No for that clone... unfortunately it all came in one box. Was a big thing just to organize it all... then there was the dang stickers. I have since went to ebay to buy better ones. Sigh... Didn't get it from ebay... but still ended up with this... yes I could complain and return... but got bricks that work with my own and a means to build a YT variant. Will have to say that Old Man Han looks good. Leia's costume is good... and Chewie is nicely painted. Droids are ok... main characters look very funky... And apparently I don't have a freighter but a frerghter... one of the many reasons why I replaced the stickers. The build. Was testing if the bags were labeled right... so one of the first things I built was the cockpit. Where I left it at. Sad part is I don't have a close-up... but when I get home I'll do that. Went the custom route on the mandible details as I plan to change it up later anyways. Hope you enjoyed them. I am away from home so can't finish it right now... last picture is where it sits and I got tired of Legos mixing up in other bags. So I poured all them together and put them in the white box the fake MF is sitting on.
  5. Hi guys, I haven't posted here in awhile, but I thought I would share my MOC/heavily modded of Lego's 7915 Imperial V-Wing starfighter. This has been my project that I've worked on and off since I got this set back in 2011. Originally, I planned to assemble it just to see the inner workings of the ship before modifying the ship to fit the entire astromech droid. I loved the ship (especially the cockpit piece ) so much that I continued to modify it and it has become my pet project. I have since redesigned the ship from bow to stern and added more features while removing the old wing system. The wing design shares inspirations from the X-Wing to Starcraft's Banshee while still keeping the old wing flaps as part of the design. I apologize in advance for the poor pictures and model stand. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Hope you enjoy! Full gallery of high resolution images: http://imgur.com/a/uHXSe Lore: "The Alpha-5 Nova-class Starfighter was a joint venture by Kuat Systems and the Incom Corporation to win the Galactic Empire's bid for its next frontline starfighter. Built off the chassis of Kuat Systems's V-Wing starfighter, the Nova was created as an air-superiority starfighter at the tail end of the Clone Wars to escort ARC-170 starfighters on campaigns. The biggest draw of the starfighter was its experimental hyperdrive engine, becoming one of the smallest single pilot starfighters to be equipped for hyperspace travel without the need of an external booster ring. The starfighter is armed with 4 cannons, one on each secondary wing, 2 proton torpedo launchers located towards the bow, and rear flares for evading homing missiles. However, the Nova was plagued by its high manufacturing cost not to mention difficulty to be stored in the Empire's new line of Star Destroyers. In the end, Sienar Systems won the Empire's bid to produce much cheaper and expendable TIE/LN starfighter. The few Nova prototypes became popular with Imperial spies and agents as a versatile and well equipped starfighter. The failed Nova design would later inspire Incom's T-65 X-Wing starfighter." The flimsy design of Lego's 7915 V-Wing was significantly beefed up in my design. I gave the ship more heft to it and now that awesome cockpit piece fits more appropriately to a much sleeker looking ship. A view of the rear of the ship. Also notice how the landing gear are folded up. They fit snugly under the engine flaps but I couldn't really think of a better place to put them since they still do stick out. Again sorry for the poor quality pictures. In landing mode, the 4 wing flaps fold down to cover both of the Nova's hyperdrive engines. I imagine from my experience with Star Wars that hyperdrive engines are very easy to damage and especially ones that are placed externally. Here's a closeup view of one of the hyperdrive engines. I originally wanted to modify the wings after Starcraft's Banshee but I lacked the appropriate pieces to make rotors. Instead I used these silver Bionicle claw pieces and they certainly do a great alternative. To the right is a better angle of the flare poppers. A view of the cockpit. There is a targeting display and a switch to make the cramped cockpit more detailed. Another feature I added which I feel Lego never does enough of is provide housing for minifigure accessories included in their sets. Here I have included room for a blaster pistol and a pair of binoculars. Lastly, my lovely Twi'lek pilot and her astromech droid. Thanks for looking!
  6. This is a mod a did a while back. I liked the front of the ship so I modified it only a little bit, but I totally rebuild the back. The result is a little star warsy ship which I imagine to be very agile and fast. I like its shapes, it reminds me of a spear head. I also created space for the astromech droid (in the original one only its head can be put on the ship). Originally I only wanted to re-use the bricks of the set but in the end I had to add some bricks from other sets (but only a few). 7. I don't think I posted this here. But if I did, this is mod 2 of it. Wanted to make the wings fold forward as they should in some references I know of. First version was flimsy that I designed from LDD. Had a green bubble top too that I wanted to change down the line too. Later got a new canopy for the cockpit and made the wings better to look at. They look more like armored plates which is cool. The inside. Wings open. Missing the new V-wing... I bet the next one will have the wings fold backwards! Then the rotation will be complete! You can also see where I got the new canopy from.

    [SoNE] The Junkyard

This is part II of my story. If you like, have a look at part I (link) I would like to have this one judged. Jacob's story Part II: strange meeting at the junkyard After escaping the imperial mining installation Jacob arrives at one of the countless junkyards on Nar Eurbrikka, rusty witnesses of the galaxy's industrial lavishness and technical progress. At this inhospitable place he will have a fateful encounter... "Hello there. On the run?" "Indeed. What about you? I wouldn't have guessed to find someone both organic and sentient out here." "And I didn't expect a visitor. Well, you are the first in more than twenty years. I once was called Hunter." "Jacob, pleased to meet you. You lived here alone for two decades in this garbage? The only plausible reason for this self inflicted exile would be to have the full attention of the empire." "Oh no. I don't consider myself to be that important. Unless the Empire still wants this ancient piece of scrap back." "An Alpha-3 Nimbus! Can't believe it! And it's in catastrophic condition." "Pipe down! It's not as impressive as it was. But I spent the last 20 years keeping it in good repair. Nevermind. You seem to know a thing or two of such vessels. Do you fly?" "Yes, I once was a pilot. In a former life. You were a pilot during these clone wars, right? "Right. See, I'm much like this junk around you. Produced for war, then thrown away when war was over. Now I'm weighed down by age acceleration and the poisoned air of this junkyard." "So you are maybe the last living clone! But how did you get here?" "After the fall of the Republic, most of my brothers served the Empire without a doubt. That was the only thing we knew. We were reared to be soldiers. To obey every order we may conceive. But for all that I suddenly made my decision. I ran away. Oh, and I wasn't alone at all. That's my old Astromech. My only true friend, R2-W7, but I call him Wilson." "1001001010001" "Don't feel offended, but why would you do that? Leaving everything behind and live in this junk? I thought clones were loyal." "Because I knew what freedom means, unlike most over clones. Maybe it's a thing only a pilot can understand...But for now I guess you need a ship. Wanna take my old V-Wing? You can also have my old flight suit." "And you should take Wilson with you. He has proven himself in many battles. And he's a very interesting droid to talk to." "01001001000100101" "I know, Will. I will miss you, too. But unlike me, your time hasn't come yet. I believe there's still something to do for you. Any idea where to go now?" "Not really. I think at first I'll just enjoy flying again. After all these years." "Yes, that's a funny thing to do. But you will have to choose a destination. If possible a destination that doesn't need a hyperjump. And more important, you'll have to find something that's worth flying for." "Let me guess: freedom? Fighting the Empire? Shall I crush the whole imperial fleet with your invincible oldtimer? That's pointless. I thank you very much, but I can't change the system." "Perky idiot! That's the most stupid crap I ever heard. Of course one pilot can change everything! At war, when whole armies weren't able to enforce a planet, one pilot on the right mission could turn the tide. Look: the only freedom I could claim was on this junkyard. But you could reach so much more. Even on this trashyard I heard rumours of this Rebellion. I'm sure they could need a guy like you." "*sigh* I keep it in mind. Good bye, old oddball. Thank you." "And if you ever meet a surviving Jedi...tell him that not all of us just obeyed order 66. Some were strong enough. And Wilson: I'm sorry! I'm sorry Wilson!" ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Over all:
