  1. These are the first two "completed" vehicles of my Copenhagen Fire Depatment project. If I ever get around to it I am going to change the white doors for a solution with grey tiles. I always kind of hated those white doors, but they were all I had. Also I need new stickers on plastic in stead of paper, they look horrible around the edges. The first one is the I3, a Mercedes Econic rescue truck. It has e crew of 4, 2 in the front cab and 2 in the back. I am pretty happy with the cab, I might change the bumper though, at least change the head lights to some trans clear ones. Doors open, and a little view to the crew compartment. I am happy with how the back end turned out. I haven't put the equipment in yet, but here you can get an idea of the interior of the compartments. Here is the I2, a MAN dive rescue vehicle. It too has a crew of 4, a driver and leader in the front cab and 2 divers in the back. I think the cab turned out pretty ok, but needs a little internal work for structural integrity Here is a little view of the crew compartment and the tool compartments. My planned reconstruction will fit about twice as much equipment, and look more realistic. I was never quite happy with the back half of the truck. Some more tool compartments. The reconstruction will move the stuff you see in the compartment furthest to the back and hopefully allow me to use the space for more equipment Here is the stuff you saw in the other picture, a hydraulic cutter and some jacks loaded on hand trucks.   5. Hi, Looks too black? This is my latest creation. To be honest, it's not something new. It's not powerful... but is my first truck for T.T. Weight is 1245g. Lighter than 9398 crawler. Hi. it's been a long time since last moc. on account of me moving. however i have been working on a articulated truck inspired by the Uniknick. like this one: Here it is: the model features (at the moment): - XL-motor for steering. - 2 x NXT motors for drive.   7. A little work in progress I started recently. I decided to marry together two of my favorite projects, the LPE and the Oshkosh HEMTT 8x8 trial truck.   9. Greetings to you! This is my first post, and would like some feedback on my new MOC. Built over the span of 3 weekends, I'd say I'm rather craned out. Nonetheless, 'tis a crane truck with flatbed, although the crane is mounted on the rear, unlike most models. It's not based on anything in particular, but let me know if it looks similar to a real vehicle x) Tried to make the front as detailed as possible, using studded elements, and I thought that looked extremely nice. Apologies for the atrocious photography skills, but I tried my best. Rant over, I present to you: http://i.imgur.com/AjgAClX.jpg Observe the minifigure precariously dangling from that crane. x) http://i.imgur.com/MQSwSl3.jpg The rear section comes complete with a rotating crane, (Through 270 degrees) Functioning outriggers (They actually lift the truck) and features a pneumatic boom, with an adjustable crane hook. Aesthetics are quite crude here, but I feel it makes it look realistic. http://i.imgur.com/aDV3NP1.jpg It is evident I'm quite short on those 5x11 plates (I bought 8081) so had to improvise. It is fully RC and controlled by 1 XL motor for drive, (at a 1:1 gear ratio) and 1 M motor for steering.   10. Greetings all, today I'd like to present my new moc. :) This is a motorized crane truck, inspired by 8258 and 42009. It took five months to build it, that's the biggest vehicle I've ever made. The truck is equipped with 4 XL- and 5 M-motors, 3 IR receivers, 3 battery boxes and 4 pairs of lights. Its length is about 65 cm (95 with extended arm), the height can be between 25 and 75 (extended arm) cm. The weight of the truck is 4.5 kilos. Being almost completely remote controlled, the vehicle has following functions: driving (4 XL motors), steering (M motor), turntable, raising/lowering the arm, extending the section of the arm and the winch (M motor for each function). It also has a pair of manually controlled outriggers and cabin, that can be opened to see the V12 hiding under it. You can also watch the videos (in spoiler) showing the truck's functions. Unfortunately, the arm was too heavy (I used some steel balls from magnetic construction toy as a counterweight) and the XL motors were not enough for the truck. Having the crane installed, it actually moved, but it was going so slowly, that I had to take the first video without the arm, otherwise it would have been really boring to watch the truck driving one meter in half an hour. :) Thanks for watching!   11. Hello everyone, I have spent last week building a 6-wheeled truck with 4 steered wheels. Other functions are drive and working outriggers. The problem is that I don't know what i should further build. I am doubting between a tow truck and a mobile crane, but other suggestions are welcome. It drives quite fast, because I connected the m motor for driving directly to the differential. It steers slow enough to drive quite precise, but not too slow. Here are some foto's:
  12. Here's my Peterbilt MOC with a Formula 1. There's about 800 parts in the truck, lenght 0,5m, weight 1kg. No steering hence I had no part for that, however it is easy to modify when I get some more parts. The engine is CAT Turbo Diesel. I took some ideas from set 5580 but other than that it's all my own desing. The Formula has steering and a pull back motor. It's a big rig! Thanks for watching.

  17. After many delay, now I present my new big MOC, It was in LFW in Skaerbaek. Since I was a child I has been a fan of big trucks, and specially of American style trucks(in Spain is strange to see trucks with long noise). For this MOC I have chosen one of the most charismatic and representative models of these trucks: a Peterbilt 379. Also I have endeavored to put a version of CAT C15 engine (I'm also a fan of the brand CAT). This MOC is made in a 1/10.2 scale, giving a final size of 31 studs width, 99 length and 40 high. Here you can see some pictures taken in Skaerbaek where you can appreciate the size, there are: this Pete, the Crow's Vampire GT(scale 1:10 too...), the Nathaniel's Supercar and my Veyron. The total weight is 5.5kg, and has been one of the main problems I've had. Front axles deforms and look like the wheels has huge camber angle. This is a esthetic defect which I hate, but it has not solution if I want to keep all functions and therefore the weight of the truck. I will try to fix it comming soon. The electric system is huge, and it has: - 2 AA PF battery boxes - 4 PF IR recievers - 5 PF XL motors - 5 PF M motors - 1 PF switch - 3 PF large extension wires (50cm) Probably, the most “wanted” picture for Lego Technic followers: CAT C15 Engine Under the hood you can find a replica of the CAT C15 engine, with its 6-cylinder in line. The engine doesn't have the sides covered to appreciate that the cylinders are located in the same order as the real engine, with 120 ° intervals between them. Getting those 120 º between cylinders was very complicated but I thought it was necessary to be more faithful to the original. The engine also has a motor M to rotate it, which is connected directly to a battery. Between the engine and the M motor there are a differential, which is also connected to the drive motors, so that the engine is always at idling, but when you starts the drive motors the C15 accelerate adding both speeds. The rotation speeds grow up from 250 rpm up to 700 rpm aprox. Pneumatic system After almost 10 years without using pneumatics in any of my MOCs, I decided this was the perfect model to use it. The pneumatic system the truck runs along the complete truck, mainly controlling the suspension and brakes on all axles. The pneumatic system is composed mainly: - 2 Small pumps (6L) - 1 Large pump (for emergencies). - 2 Air tanks - 7 Small cylinders - 8 Large cylinders - 7 Valves - 1 Manometer (LEGO part n.64065) - 22 T connectors - And about 5 meters of pneumatic tube in 3 colors: blue, black and light gray. All pneumatic control is located on the right side of the truck inside the fuel tank. Also in the cab, between the seats, there is a manometer to measure the system pressure, it is very useful to know how much air have you at any moment. Axles As the real truck it has live axles. Both rear axles are driven without differential between them. In each axle between the differential and the wheel the axls has gear ratio 12/20 to reduce necessary torque in the differential and protect bevel gears. The front axles uses the same steering system as the real Pete, of course the steering wheel turns too, also it turns 4 laps, again as the real Pete - Suspension The suspension is fully pneumatic in all axes, and it doesn't use any spring to help. The front axle has 4 big cylinder and each rear axle 2. - Brakes The brakes as the real truck are drum brakes, there are a drum on each side of each axle, all of them controlled by a small pneumatic cylinder. The control of these pistons are made through two valves, one for the front axle and one for the rear axles. For normal braking the brakes operate all at the same time, but only while you are keeping push the brakes botton. But you have also parking brake mode, if you push the brakes botton in the opposite direction only rear brakes works, and they will not disabled if you stop pressing botton. To remove the parking brake you only need use the normal brakes. - Auxiliar output Behind the cabin there is an auxiliar pneumatic output(blue connector), where you can connect anything you want. The valve to activate it is located before the rear-right wheel Transmission The transmission is the biggest mechanism of the truck, and it has an approximate size of 25x7x45 studs. It uses 4 XL motors for drive. The transmission has 18+2R speeds(this is true, is not a joke...). The transmission is divided in two parts: the main gearbox with 9+R speeds with automatic clutch(this gearbox is based on the LR Defender), and a transfer case with 2 speed (H and L) Joint both gearboxes the result is this: RL-1:0.261 RH-1:0.29 1L (1) - 1:0.324 1H (2) - 1:0.36 2L (3) - 1:0.432 2H (4) - 1:0.48 3L (5) - 1:0.54 3H (6) - 1:0.6 4L (7) - 1:0.72 4H (8) - 1:0.8 5L (9) - 1:0.9 5H (10) - 1:1 6L (11) - 1:1.2 6H (12) - 1:1.33 7L (13) - 1: 1.5 7H (14) - 1:1.67 8L (15) - 1:2 8H (16) - 1:2.22 9L (17) - 1:2.5 9H (18) - 1:2.78 Auxiliar electric output As I said before, the truck has an auxiliar pneumatic output, but also it has an auxiliar electric output too. There you can connect anything you want, and control it with the remote controller. To avoid leaving this connetor without any use I have added a fifth wheel(trailer connector). - Fifth wheel Note: right now I don't have intention to do a complete trailer. It is very simple and effective. The kingpin diameter is 1 stud.   19. First of all, I have to admit that both of these are not so much "my own". The cargo truck was reverse engineered from someone's MOC that I once saw at classic-town.net, but couldn't find ever since. The dump truck (its hopper to be exact) is almost identical to the hopper Zed designed for his unbelievable KRAZ, definitely check that one out. So, here go the pictures. Cargo truck: Nothing special inside, just some furniture, boxes and a dog: I'd like to point out the washing machine, 1x1 round tile was made for this: Now the dump truck, nothing special here: So here you go, two trucks, one dog and a washing machine.   20. This is my first big project for this year. Here's what I have: As you can see, the rear axle still needs to be reinforced, so I was wondering if anyone as some solutions. Also do you think 2 L motors geared 1:1 to differential will be sufficient between speed and torque.

  22. Hello, Here is my first 6x6 model. 2L motors for driving, Servo motor for steering. Weight is 1180g. Motors and battery box are located on the middle of chassis. Front and rear suspensions are very soft. So, the Truck easily pitches up and down, climb over a certain level of obstacles. 3 differentials and 6 cv joints works pretty well, not broken or snapped at all in the video.     MOC: 4wide water rescue unit

    Hello all! The next one (of my 120+ firetrucks, containers and trailers ) I want to show you is a water rescue truck in combination with a boat on a trailer. This unit carries rescue divers and a lot specific equipment to the scene. The truck is highly recommend for rough and/or weak terrain. The boat (which features a solid aluminum hull) carries a powerful outboard motor and a lot of equipment for the first responders. It's quite basic-built, but features the typical bicolor paint scheme and the drive train as a little more detail under the car. Like every MOC of mine this truck also features some epuipment like the divers' suit, a respirator and a special platform to rescue people from thin ice. Finally a picture of the complete a water rescue squad that will be released when an incoming emergency call is indexed by the dispatchers with the word "water". It features from the right: incident command van, pumper (also equipped with stuff for the technical assistance, water rescue truck (divers truck), boat truck and a crane and a rescue van.   24. I was checking my Flickr account and noticed I hardly put any pictures on it of my large Scania low loader combo. I already built this one some time ago. The model is over two meters in length and it took me more than two year to design and build it. The unit has a real working V8 engine, tilted cab and accurate built chassis. Both the front and second axle are steered. The cab has open doors, open grille and detailed interior with adjustable seats. The trailer wasn't easy to build at all. The shapes are different than like a Nooteboom trailer which are more straight forward. Heavy hauler Van Elk helped me with some drawings of the real thing and once I joined the driver on a trip to Rotterdam were he had to unload a dragline on a building site. Here I could walk around the trailer and see how it works. This helped me lot to build it as accurate as possible. The trailer consist of four sections and it has a detachable neck. The loading deck can be extended in length and width, depending on what you've to carry. The ten rear axles (pendulum axles) are all steered, as well as the rear axle of the swing dolly. Now I'm having two combos of the same hauler; a vintage one and their last bought. Unfortunately heavy hauler Van Elk discontinued services in April 2010 and after building five of their combos there actually isn't another one to be build anymore. Have to look for something else but I'll give the Scania unit an update first. I'm building another one right now which it different than the one posted here.
