  1. You REALY don't want to see this in your rearview mirror as this truck is killer! This 8-wide LEGO MOC is inspired by the villain vehicle (driven by an unseen psycho trucker) as featured in the TV production-turned-feature film "Duel", which was Steven Spielberg's first feature-length film by the way. It also uses parts of the truck in Jurassic World set 76948 (T. rex & Atrociraptor Dinosaur Breakout) as a general guide to the cab area, and CITY set 60357 (Stunt Truck and Ring of Fire Challenge) for the area forward of the actual driver's compartment. The 1955 Peterbuilt 281 'needlenose' semi truck, with tanker trailer attached, is what was used in the film originally. Later, as the film was extended for theatrical release, a 351 was used as a stand-in for more scenes due to the original truck being... unable to fulfill it's role. (watch the movie so you know what I mean!) I've tried to make it as accurate as possible to the original 251, with the AC unit behind the cab, sleek streamlined 1950's tanker design, and single exhaust pipe in black. There is a steering wheel in the cab, but no way to place a figure at the controls. This is because we never see the driver's face in the film. So putting a placeholder in there would be totally inaccurate. The tanker by itself, balanced upright by my finger on the back bumper. This is because I didn't add jacks / stands underneath the trailer that are used when the cab is separated from the trailer. The truck seen in most (some added scenes used a 351 model of the same truck maker) of the 1971 action-thriller film is a 1955 Peterbilt 281, which Steven Spielberg selected because of the long hood of the Peterbilt, its split windshield, and its round headlights gave it more of a "face", adding to its menacing personality. Additionally, Spielberg said that the multiple license plates on the front bumper of the Peterbilt subtly suggested that the truck driver is a serial killer, having "run down other drivers in other states".   2. Finally got this set built, and tried to mod it to fit minifigs, I didn't really do any designing beforehand. Just a quick build, transparent 1x2 plates help fitting the windows together, and had to add a space for the figure helm/hairpiece to fit, while trying to maintain the shape and colors, also added turn signals and steering wheel. As for the race cars/karts, it was very simple mod of moving the nose 1 stud forward and adding a steering wheel, really got some Town vibes. Orginal set : Mod for minifigs:

  4. This model based on one of the famous Volvo truck - Iron Knight. The main idea was to replicate this truck in small scale and use for this just parts from Lego set 42123 McLaren Senna. Definitely not all shapes and parts of the original truck I was able to build properly, but I think it is compromise in scope of limited range of parts.   5. My entry for the TC20 contest will be one of my childhood dream sets: 6335. I chose 30.4mm tires for the truck, which have a look similar to the original ones, so the overall dimension of the set will be 1,5 bigger than the original. I only started the chassis of the truck, this is a preliminary photo:

My most technical and realistic model so far, the european-style Garbage Truck, fits in scale all other trucks with 49.5x20mm tires in the Technic-Theme, like the 42024 Container Truck, 42078 Mack Anthem, 42098 Car Transporter or 42112 Cement Mixer. With 1294 parts, it fits the parts count for mid-sized trucks. Instructions can be found on rebrickable. Most medium blue and dark blue parts comes from the set 42064 and 42066. If you take a look at the parts list, feel free to replace the colors and build this truck in any color scheme you want. Functions and Features: HoG steering openable cabin and doors 2-way-gearbox to select between opening the tailgate and activate the garbage press mechanism to hook the included garbage container and unload the trash all functions are operated manually, but the unloading of garbage (bottles in this case) is ready to be motorized My coolest linkage mechanism so far makes it possible to hook up the container, open the lid and unload the trash at the same time... ...as well the working garbage press Impressions: Ready for Power Functions: This model is designed to make the functions (those selected by gearbox) to be motorized.   7. Building B-models between major projects has become quite normal for me. Such a break and playing only with Technic bricks is a very good way to reset my mind 😊 This time it was the 42114 set and the Mining Dump Truck was created as an alternative model, for the excavator from the 42100 set. The plan to build this vehicle from the 42114 set appeared a few months ago. I put it off for later, because I thought I wouldn't have enough panels to build a nice dump box. Over the weekend, I sat down with bricks and in a few hours the first version of the tipper was created. I liked it so much that the final version differs from the prototype only with minor changes. The biggest difficulty in building this model was its size of frame. When planning, I insisted that the model must use the original app, because that could be easily configured and played with it immediately. The machine has double wheels on the rear axle, so the frame basically contains the engines, gearbox, and a rear axle. In addition, the set has only long actuators so placing them in the dumper was also not easy. At the end, everything was packed into a pretty nice model, which uses over 78% of the set elements. The tipper was supposed to look good with the R9800 excavator from the 42100 set. So I scaled the Liebherr T282 to 1:42 scale and built the model on it. The appearance of the dump truck is a combination of the previously mentioned Liebherr and CAT 793F. It is not an exact copy, but there are similarities.     [MOC] Pickup Truck Minifigure Scale

    Hello there, this is my newest model of a pickup truck. The truck is 6 bricks wide so it fits to the old street baseplates and on MOC streets. I tried to build it in minifigure scale. For all those who wanna rebuild the model, you can watch the building video on YouTube. Feel free to check it out. Under the Video you can see some rendered pictures from the Truck. Build in Studio 2.0 The small 1x1 brackets in dark bluish grey are not official available. I recolored them only for the picture. In the building video, I used parts who are available.

  11. Hey guys, During a chat I was pointed to the Steinwinter Supercargo 2040. I was fascinated by the look and decided to build it. It was designed by the german engineer Manfred Steinwinter. During my research, I found out that he build only one prototype, but planned many more versions. I liked the three-axled version and so started with a rough sketch to get an idea of the proportions: While I was searching for images of that truck, I also contacted the current IP owner and asked for blueprints. Fortunately he liked my project and he send me some. Since then this truck went through many iteration of improvements and design changes. In the end I decided to use Powered Up to control it. This is the current state: These are planned/implemented features and specifications: Current weight: 3kg Length: 86 studs Height: 14 studs Width: 27 studs Power supply: 4x Technic hub Driving: 4x C+ XL motor, each motor is connected to one hub to spread the load (3,528:1, theoretically 0,74 km/h @7,5V @124Ncm) Steering: 1x C+ L motor, two steered axles with Ackerman geometry Compressor: 1x C+ L motor, 4 pumps 3 RC valves: 3x C+ L motor, 3x newest valve one for each the rear axle, front/middle left wheel, front/middle right wheel Angle sensor for suspension on front and middle axle: 2x C+ XL and 2x Boost Medium motors OR 2x C+ XL Angle sensor for rear axle: 1x motor (not implemented yet) Air/pneumatic suspension on all axles controlled by Powered Up double wishbone suspension on fron and middle axle Each front/middle wheel on the left and right side are one unit. That means if the front wheel is pushed up the middle wheel is pushed down. That way the weight is equally distributed on the wheels live rear axle When I decided to use Powered Up I thought about controlling the ride height somehow with Powered Up. To do that I needed something to read the position of the double wish bone arms and the rear axle. Since several motors in the C+/Powered Up eco system can report their position, tried to use them to read the angle of the suspension arm. I successfully implemented that on the front and middle axle. For the rear axle I haven't found a good solution yet, because that axle can move on two axis. While I'm waiting for some additional parts, I'm working on the solution for the rear axle. As for the code, I already made a proof of concept. I created a test setup and wrote some code, which reads the angle of a suspension arm and adjusts it to the desired value. for the finished MOC a can think of something like a parking height, highway ride height and more or less off-road height. Once the chassis is finished the and the Powered Up is working I'll start working on body. Feel free to leave comments, critique and suggestions.
  12. Hello, Hereby I'd like to present you my first MOC. It's a model of a DAF XF 105 with a Krone cooling trailer. The trailer is not really a model build by Krone, but it's inspired by several trailers. The scale is the same as TLG's midscale trucks. The tractor uses the same fifth wheel setup as the Mack Anthem.   13. I present a little off-road experiment of mine. It's a large-scale model of the Soviet Ural 375D heavy-duty military truck, a truck I've had the pleasure of driving last year. The model's look is somewhat compromised but it achieved the primary goals, which included stress-testing the planetary wheel hubs, the new differential and my 4-speed remotely-controlled sequential transmission. I'm happy to report that none of these components failed and the truck, which weighs 3.94 kg, is able to drive over a 6 cm tall book or climb inclines slightly above 15°. It's not a perfect model, and it's truly sluggish, but oh well. Functions: remotely controlled drive and steering remotely controlled 4-speed transmission (with the lowest speed disabled so I could use a PF Servo as shifter) remotely controlled pneumatical locking of differentials in all three axles 6x6 drive suspension: live axles #1 and #3, pendular axle #2 (for improved chassis rigidity and to maintain ground clearance) switch-operated rear winch opening hood with a V8 piston engine running at constant speed and opening doors and a tiny detail that I really wanted to get done: a see-through grille

The idea behind submitting it to Ideas was that since LEGO keeps making simple RC cars such as 421090 and 42124, then why not a simple RC truck? I was inspired by the excellent Mack Anthem set, but eventually drifted towards building the body with System pieces because at this scale I couldn't get a decent detail level with Technic. So it's a System body on a Technic chassis, and the functions are as follows: remotely controlled drive & steering with a working steering wheel opening doors and hood removable back of the sleeper (for changing batteries), the Control+ hub activated by turning the round tile on truck's roof trailer with parking outriggers and opening doors reasonably realistic hitching action (the trailer lowers onto the fifth wheel when you manually retract the outriggers) Any votes are appreciated and a full video is below:
  15. I finally did it, I've built a Volvo. It took me little more than a month to design, collect parts and build it, which is pretty short for my standards, I usually take (or loose) more time to fully complete a MOC of these proportions. The scale is, roughly, 1/20 and it has some functional features. Using LEGO power functions the vehicle can drive, steer, lift its 2nd drive axle, flash its beacon lights and operate the hooklift system. To be perfectly honest, not all of its features work the way I wanted them to work. The chassis was a bit small to incorporate all of these functions. I may design a new chassis at some point (more of that below) For me the highlight of this model is the cab really, getting the proportions of an FH right was a challenge, I had to make many compromises, choose the lesser of two evils. Of all truck brands, the Volvo just has the most complex design to replicate in the brick. But that is of course because a Volvo is the most pretty truck of them all after all. As I am employed at Volvo Trucks I simply had to build Volvo’s flagship. When Covid is over, I’ll drive it around the office landscape :). You may have noticed, the cab is not a square box, I spent a lot of time figuring out how to best approach the silhouette of the FH cab. It gets slightly more narrow higher up. The chassis is packed, I had to fit the battery box and two receivers in the cab, which is one of the reasons why there's no interior. Now, I'm sure some of you will most certainly have some suspicions about the feasibility of my hooklift system here... And they would be right! To be honest, the hooklift doesn't work all that well, lifting a container is a bit too much. It was only after I had completed the chassis that I learned about some sort of quality problem with those linear actuators I've used. But I think the fact that the very short leverage to rotate the hooklift may also have something to do with it. That of course was a consequence of the limited stroke of these actuators. This calls for the new longer actuators! ... However, that means I'll have to completely redesign the chassis... I have a couple of WIP pictures that I may share later. I hope you like it!

  19. So I looked for ambulance and found nearly all results showed normal City theme builds. Only one or two Technic theme builds. So I made the plunge, found some drawings, and got to work. The first attempt was a fail as the scale was a little to big, cause I ran out of parts. So I found a different set of drawing and found Sariel's unit converter app. This allowed me to plan and make to scale and smaller, only to find out near the end that I still didn't have enough red. (Or money at the time to get more, but have also moved on). So I will call this somewhat viable MOC- Ambulance V.1 I have plans to build digital and make a version 2 in the future, but I got another set of MOC's on the table at the moment.
  20. Hi, I would like to present my newest MOC. It is off-roader with look based on UAZ 3151 and equipped with functions available in off-road game Snowrunner. Main functions and some details are listed below. If anybody is interested with some more technical detailes (and I believe there are people here, which are more focused on technical aspects of the MOC rather than the look), which are hard to show in short video, then I encourage you to scroll down, below photos. Main idea was to make drivetrain strong and reliable. I used the strongest differentials, new reinforced CV joints and bevel gears whenever possible. What is more I tried to keep high speed – low torque rule as long as possible when designing the drive train. As the result, the biggest reduction is placed on axles – on differentials. Thanks to that and reinforced construction you will stall 2 L motor rather than hear some gear slipping. Look In case of look, I keep in mind to avoid blue pins whenever possible, keep nice, clean one colour chassis which can be seen underneath and focus on small details, both inside and outside. Also you will not see many holes in the body or ugly cables, despite the fact that there are 5 lego LEDs there. What is more, all lights, along with the switch are integrated into one piece removable body and can be easy removed only by disconnecting single cable. Performance The plan was to make it very capable when off roading. And it is, when you remove the body. The look and those many details and manual features, all related to the body come with obvious price – weight. UAZ weights 2435g in basic configuration, but only the body itself weights 855g. So if resign from features, which are related stricte to the body and replace the body with some light weight one, then you will get very capable machine. But even with the body, thanks to drive train design, off-road capabilies of UAZ are pritty decent, as showed on the video. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to ask. And keep MOCing! :)

Finlay finished the instructions you can now download them for free here Air-Claw With a new Pneumatic truck possibly on the horizon, I decided to give the Redux treatment to one of my favourite models.This is due to its complexity and that it was the first large model that i bought for myself that was not a Christmas or Birthday present. And judging from a recent post on the forums a lot of you like it as well. I have still to model the tubing from my IRL model but I may have to switch to LDCad as stud.io is still not the best at this. As with most of the models of the old studded times, to convert to studless you have to switch the width from even to odd so the truck is now one stud wider. I have tried to keep as many details from the original and made changes where the new beams demand it or where newer parts allow a better build. With the redux models I make I always try to use the most current parts available so people who don't have the original have a chance to build it as well. Please let me know what you think especially the front of the truck as I have employed a few odd techniques to keep it looking like the original. Plans will follow eventually when i get the tubing done.
  24. Hello i would like too present you my MOC MAN TGS 8X8 Version 2 It has a 4 Speed gearbox shifted via 1M Motor and a Stepper other Motors are: 2XL Driving, 1 Servo Streering, 1M Dumping. Version 2 because the first one failed my extreme test 30 deegres incline fully loaded with bricks, i had knob gears wich transfered the power to the rear axels which started grinding at other parts because of the play in Lego and the forces. So i started building a new Gearbox which needed too be all with Straight gears for best stability. And i fitted it with the new differentials. Tipping is done with a M Motor which is down geared and drives a wormgears that work as a spindle and pull the gray part which starts the tipping. There was no place for an Actuator The model is build for maximum power and offroad capabilities if i hould it and would drive it spinnes all wheels in lowest gear it ways around 5kg Its powerd with a Buwizz but IR receivers and Battery Box could also be installed I hope you have some questions about the model.

I’ve always wanted to make a trophy truck, here’s my take on one:) I call it the panther because is black, and the headlights make it look like a cat:) It features long suspension travel just like a real trophy truck.
