    My Tree House

Hello, With so many great winter creations in the last weeks, it's feels a bit frosty on EuroBricks. So I will try to bring you a bit spring feeling with my newest creation: My Tree House Tree houses always had something magical for me. The symbiosis of the home and the nature has something very idyllic and charming. I wanted to reflect this peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of security in tree houses in my build. Also I had the chance to try my hands on a bigger tree and the challenge to build it sturdy enough so it holds the home. I'm glad Oscar posted his amazing roof technique before I build my tree house. It's so great, I had to copy that. Thanks for your inspiration, Oscar! To give the tree a sturdy base I build its roots and a bit of the surrounding landscape. I hope you like it! Jonas

    Benoic Farm

Thanks to de Gothia for letting me put this build in Benoic! As usual on the farm, there’s much to be done: feeding, watering, and milking the goats, feeding the chickens, and most importantly: heading back to the house for some breakfast. Lots more pictures here: Link C&C very much appreciated

  5. Riverwatch Falls A watchtower protecting a bridge over a wild river, situated just above a small waterfall. Semaphore tower with signal engineers, signal fire and drawbridge included. Built as part of a Local Challenge for the Lands of Roawia. More images in the flickr album.
  6. An entry into the Forbidden Fortress category of the Colossal Castle Contest. A collab between John (LittleJohn) and I: John built the landscape, while I built the fortress. The build is based off of the story of Beren and Luthien from the Silmarillion. There's a full interior inside, and the drawbridge is functional. Sauron's werewolf form, and Huan were both inspired by Dunedain and Blake Baer. Luthien and Huan, the Hound of Valinar, rescue Beren from Sauron's fortress of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Sauron takes the form of a werewolf to battle Huan. "Therefore he (Sauron) took upon himself the form of a werewolf, and made himself the mightiest that had yet walked the world; and he came forth to win the passage of the bridge... But no wizardry nor spell, neither fang nor venom, nor devil's art nor beast-strength, could overthrow Huan of Valinor; and he took his foe by the throat and pinned him down" (Tolkien 175). Gates and drawbridge closed: There's a lot to see, so check out additional pictures here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=1687 C&C welcome

    [A - F09] Zoid Invasion

Location: Arium Minor - F09 Tags: Piracy, Alien The Zoid invasion of Arium Minor came suddenly and brutally. The orbital defensive grid remained silent while Zoid teams swarmed the colonies. Octan pilots fought to get to their ships but many were killed or captured. Nobody could tell where the Zoids came from, but many would soon find out where they were going. The alien fleet finally moved into orbit once the ground was secured. Few ships Octan remained to stop them. [A - F09] Zoid Harvest - Full by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr C&C welcome.

    [MOC] Peaceful Existence

It's a peaceful existence living in classic Castle...
  9. This was one of those builds, that I started just because I wanted to build something, but somehow I managed to work it into a RPG challenge in the Lands of Mythron on MOCpages. I also added some pink because I'm a bit short on bley… (SHIP pictures coming soon hopefully). The tree is one of my favorite parts, and I tried to make the house different than my last one (https://www.flickr.c...posted-public/) by adding simple things like the protruding door and the window. Please tell me what you think! Criticism is always appreciated.

    Building a Cherry Blossom Tree

Hi, Here is my cherry blossom tree built mostly with flower pieces. The main technique is to keep the flower petals on their sprues, connected my stem pieces. LEGO Tree in Blossom by James Shields, on Flickr A run down of the method follows... 1. First attach stalks to each corner of the flower sprue. 2. Next, attach to the foliage piece, and keep adding more flower sprues. 3. Add further flower pieces. Connect to the foliage where you can, but it doesn't matter if stems are only connected to flower sprues. 4. Keep going past the edges so that flower sprues hang down on floating stems. 5. The completed section from underneath. 6. Next, attach a plate with vertical bar (or any part with a bar for a strong connection to the foliage) to your tree branch. 7. ...which should be attached to your tree... 8. Push the bar of the plate into one of the holes of the foliage. 9. The top of the canopy reapplied. 10. And another view of the finished tree

    [MOC] Awaiting Rescue

"Well, my latest transaction did not go as well as hoped. The supposed merchants I was dealing with turned out to be pirates and upon receiving my wears, they promptly dropped me off on this lonely island and flew off. To keep my sanity, I've continued to practice my fencing. Maybe the next time I run into trouble, I will be better prepared... But, like an old friend of mine once said, 'it is better to be alive and bored, than to be dead and no longer alive.'"

    Uncle Byron's Home

Dear Journal, I returned to Uncle Byron's today, and he was delighted with the new plant variety I brought. However, he's now looking to find a rare crystal rumored to be found on the dangerous low islands. I've never ventured so close to the water before, and will need to use a smaller more maneuverable ship. ~Little John Another build based in the Isles of Aura, I'll be using this for my first build in the Odyssey category of the CBC. Uncle Byron's home and the stables both feature full interiors. And be sure to look through lots of pictures to see all the details. Credit to Graham Gidman for the edit job, thanks Graham! [O - E02] The Jin Homestead

Location: E02 - Jurin II Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Civil After crash landing on Jurin II, Pilot John Hannibal left his medic/mechanic/explorer droid Dora to scout the area while he was away. As she gives him a tour of all of her favorite discoveries, John and Dora come across two new colonists, the Jins, retrieving their freshly delivered frontier pod. Ma' Jin very happy to see John, who has been the majority investor in their colonization bid with Octan, and John is excited to get such a good look at his eager, and not-so-shy colonist. [O - E02] Pod Drop 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Ma' - "John! So lovely to see you, and you too Miss Dora. How sweet of you to come check up on us. George! John's here! Climb your butt back up here and say hi!" Dora - "HI MA'!" Hannibal - "No need for that Mrs. Jin, I can see that he's busy..." George - "John!? I'll be right up." Hannibal - "Stay put for a minute George, I've got to come down there anyway, my droid is tracking something she saw a couple of weeks ago, it must be down a little lower." Ma' - "Oh, that's very likely John. These trees grow so fast whatever you're looking for is likely to have been consumed by now. And call me Ma' you turkey, you're every bit of our family, like it or not" Hannibal - "Yes Ma'. Very possible, about the growth that is..." Ma' - "What was it you were looking for?" Hannibal - "More M.A.N.T.I.S. personnel I'm afraid. Been finding remnants of their patrols all over the lower levels. Dora says this one is particularly interesting." Ma' - "Oh, yes... our little scarecrow. He was like that when we scouted this place out last week. The locals said they were having some fun..." Hannibal - "Locals?" Ma' - "Oh, yes, our little octopus friends... George was able to figure out how to communicate with them through colors! He can really only understand their general emotions about a subject, but they were quite tickled by their little stunt with the fella down below." Hannibal - "Hm, well if it's all the same to y'all, I'd like to move y'all's pod a bit further away to be safe; wouldn't want any kiddos catching something from that corpse. Also, don't report in about your new friends just yet. The company's latest "retrievals" of xenological specimens have not been very peaceful... "O.T.C, "Mercy Brandy" where's our closest pick-up" Mercy Brandy - "OS-461, picking up his droid, about an hour from your location... need pick-up expedited?" [O - E02] OS-461 - 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Hannibal - "Negative. Send Cantillon along, but an hour will be fine. We're going to move Colonists 81815 and 81915 and their pod to sector RTMP-136 when they get here." Mercy Brandy - "Confirmed, something wrong with our drop." Hannibal - "Negative. Y'all nailed your spot, just have some new factors to account for." Mercy Brandy - "Roger that, we'll adjust our orbit to give you more time on the ground." Dora - "OOOO, wait-wait-wait, does Captain Cantillon have Mabel with him! I can't wait to share!" Mercy Brandy - "He does, Dora, and she's anxious to share with you too. Mercy Brandy out." Ma' - "But John, we've been scouting this sector for weeks. It's just lovely." Hannibal - "Don't worry Ma', it's still yours. RTMP-136 is... was one of my sectors... it borders this one and now both belongs to you and George." Ma' - "Oh, John we just couldn't!" Hannibal - "Stop it. Now lets help George get that pod secured..." C&C welcome and appreciated
  14. Location - Jurin II - E02 Tags - Building, Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Exploration After dropping a ship off on F02, Hannibal volunteers to run a delivery to E02. This beautiful planet has become extremely important to Octan and trade throughout the system. While Octan has maintained a strong presence on the planet, it has come to house a contingent of M.A.N.T.I.S. and many traders looking to capitalize on the border region. In fact, it is looking to become the nexus of the entire galaxy, being the linking point between Kawshita, M.A.N.T.I.S., and Octan (or at least the most hospitable one). [O - E02] LP - 4 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Such a planet is a thing of beauty, where everything interconnects, civilizations may rise, and commerce can enlighten all. One difficulty in the development of this planet has been the vigorous growth of the local flora. The ocean, woven through the forests of the many islands, was early considered a ideal place for landing ships and cargo, as it is on Earth. However, every attempt at cutting runways or docks led to the forest "taking back" the land. Octan did have much success in the tree tops, building platforms well above ground. [O - E02] LP - 4 3 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr This practice was so successful and prevalent that many visitors to the planet had not even seen the ground below. After unloading their cargo, Hannibal calls in his busy droid, Dora, that he had left behind to explore the planet. Together, they head for the secret sectors of Jurin only surveyed by his faithful droid. [O - E02] LP - 4 4 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr To be continued... C&C greatly appreciated.

    The Tranquil Meadow

The Tranquil Meadow Chapter I: The Tranquil Meadow Chapter II: Old Bagshaw's Residence Chapter III: The Poacher Chapter IV: Making Camp Chapter V: Solitary Council Chapter VI: Escaping Home Chapter VII: Waylaid Chapter VIII: Archery Practice Chapter IX: Honour the Fallen Bonus Landscape: Avalonian Countryside Sir Darby was making his way through the wild grass. It had been a while since his last time here, and the little path he'd usually follow was all but gone. Before long he reached his destination; a huge tree growing amidst a pile rocks, right in the middle of the meadow. This was the place where Sir Darby would come when he needed some time away from life, some time to think without distractions. He put his sword aside and lay down in the grass. His head was full of thoughts, but right now he needed to focus on just one thing; the letter he had received last morning. Eyes on the canopy overhead, he took a deep breath and let his mind go empty. Soon enough he felt the calmness come over him; now he was ready. Sir Darby started by recalling the letter, trying to figure out what about it that made him feel so uneasy. It was nothing extraordinary to be given orders by letter, although most times he would be delivered a summons, and then receive his orders directly from his superiors. Still, it had happened before, and Sir Darby thought it no oddity. What was strange, however, was the nature of the charge; colony defense. This had never been Sir Darby's strong suit, and although he had been handling camp defense during his military campaigns from time to time, securing a civilian colony was very different from securing a camp full of armed and battle-trained soldiers. Dealing with civilians required a softer touch, and Sir Darby decidedly didn't posses such. Moreover, the location was also a bit of a surprise to Sir Darby. Why send him to a small, newly founded colony at the edge of the Isles? Surely, the timber from the colony generated plenty of wealth, and was the raw material of many lords' extravagance, but where was the threat that required the deployment of one of the realm's greatest swordsmen and tacticians, not to mention the men serving under him? To Sir Darby this seemed nothing but a huge waste of military resources, so could there be other, underlying reasons for this order? Putting him on a remote isle would certainly be pleasing to some of the decadent lords in Albion, who were less than ecstatic about him. Sir Darby wasn't one to play the high society game, and his brutal honesty and serious demeanor had landed him in hot water more than once. He always meant what he said, and said what he meant, but that was not how these lordlings did things. Luckily, his wife, Delwyn, seemed to have a knack for smoothing things over for him, and he knew things would have been much worse without her. Thinking of his wife lead his trail of thought to his family. Newquay was far away, and it was not clear how long he was to hold this position. If it was a particular threat that needed to be dealt with it might be over rather quickly, but if this was about general colony defense then he might be relocating for an extended period of time. Should he bring his family with him? No, he quickly decided. The Isles was no place for them. He had never brought his family along for any of his military campaigns, and although this was slightly different, he saw no reason to bring them this time either. He wasn't worried for his wife or his son, Gerald, they would be ok, but his daughter, Janelle, was now almost 11 years of age, and she was an adventurous girl. She would most certainly demand to come along if she knew what was going on. In any case, Sir Darby needed more information about his orders. When was he to head out? How many men was he to bring? Who was he to report to? The orders were signed by Sir Bagshaw, an old but respectable knight that Sir Darby had served under on multiple occasions. The irregularities of these orders did not add up with the usual competent work of Sir Bagshaw. Regardless, the starting point was clear; it was time for Sir Darby to pay old Sir Bagshaw a visit in Albion. That should allow him to sort out a few things about these orders. As Sir Darby got to his feet and grabbed his sword, he felt better already. With determined steps he walked back to his estate, leaving the big tree looming behind. *** I would like to request UoP DoH credits for the following: Landscape design: 1 tree type (the big one). Landscape design: dense foliage. Hope you enjoyed the MOC :)

    My dream home

Hi everyone! I would like to share my recent creation "My dream home". Let's take a look at the kitchen on the ground floor first. The open kitchen is a place to cook delicious meals for the whole family. Ovens, stoves and fridges are all necessary. Cabinets of different sizes also help the cook to have the cookware and utensils well organized. When the dishes are done, the whole family can dine leisurely at the designer dining table and enjoy great meals. I love cats, so there will be cat-friendly furniture for my cats. :-) A tree-like bookshelf where the cats could hide themselves and climb up to. A cat sofa where the sofa is attached to a cat tree. Cat scratching pole, food and water bowl and a cat house are also important for happy cat life. Now let's move on to the second floor. where we have bathroom, bedroom and a LEGO room. Designer bed, closet and window. And a painting by Piet Mondrian (Composition II in Red, Blue and Yellow). Thai style bathing area. In addition to decoration of various Lego display figures, Lego parts are all well-organized so that MOCs can be done in a more systematic way. Of course we need a computer to help us to do research (as pre-building work) and for sharing. That's all for my sharing. Thanks for reading. :-)
  17. Water, the stuff of life. Arium Major is a vast sphere of water but rocks, the tips of gargantuan mountains, breach the waves. Where there is land there is life. A seed pod of a hardy tree floats upon the surface until such a time it makes land, any sort of land. It can take root even in the hardest of rock and reach up to the skies and sunlight, verdant green leaves burst forth and delicate crystal flowers bloom. Roots that find space limited as the tree grows will travel across voids, probing to find another solid footing to set themselves strong. Once the tree is mature and tall other settlers arrive to colonise the new oasis within the vast ocean. Strange and bulbous fungoid plants will take advantage of rock space too small for tree roots. These feed upon the pollens of the tree flowers and sometimes the small insects that are attracted to the larger flora. Hardy to the extreme and somewhat parasitic, once a single instance takes it's spores will even start growing from the Arbor Crystalis that made conditions ripe for other plant life. A strange hybridisation is taking place here, the small bulb of Ostrum joined with the tree and has caused the flowers to bloom purple. With both the Arbor Crystalis and Ostrum growing, Hook Lillies float over. These flowers, with their green/yellow pads, survive on the sap of trees that drips down during their season. They use the ocean currents to travel around the planet and reach trees during the season they drip their sap. As a migratory flower there is some debate as to whether they are truly plants or indeed some other type of creature. Also evident is the Spiked Peony, an attractive small flower that grows in the soil created from the rock and ocean detritus that the AC creates. The tree growth can powder the rock and provides a catch for sediments washed in by the sea. In the far corner there is also a Citrine Shoot, a plant of noticeable colour and a pleasing lime-like scent. It is true from Terra to the ends of the universe. All things strive. --- Report Ends--- -*- So, I needed some stress relief. Arium Major needed some flora. Looks like we both came out better for it!

  19. The Old Oak The Battle for Cresentthorn's Favor (WZ11:C4) For the Desert King! Deep in the Wither Woods there is an ancient oak, so thick and gnarled that the elves have named it the Father of the Trees, believing it to have witnessed the dawn of the forest. The warrior Kauket had lived her entire life in the hot, sandy, desert lands – she had never seen any trees such as what was now before her. A voice called down from the ancient limbs, “The duel may now commence.” There would be time later to admire the forest, Kauket had a High Councilman to defeat. At the base of the ancient tree, Kauket swung her khopesh at the enemy and let the thrill of the fight carry her to victory. Thanks for having a look :)

    An Icy Attack

I tried a new rockwork technique (for me anyways), that uses technic bricks and pins to tilt each column of rock. And I did a hinging wall again, for the first time in a while, on the tower. It had been another uneventful morning for the two guards stationed at the Noror Watchtower, besides an unusually cold wind, everything seemed normal. The guards were on edge however, for there were many rumours of strange happenings in the north of Mitgardia. It was Kapp, the archer, who first noticed a group of figures approaching the tower. "Look there," Kapp said, "can you see if they're friends or foes?" "They seem to blend into the snow, but they could be clansmen on their way to the village," Svigi replied. As the group advanced toward the tower, it quickly became apparent that they were not clansmen. The odd figures were clad in white, and there seemed something unnerving about them. Kapp and Svigi readied their weapons, and eyed the oncoming band with apprehension. When they were within earshot, Svigi called out: "Halt in the name of Mitgardia! What is your business in these lands?" They offered no reply but kept on towards the tower, Kapp fired a warning arrow in front of the group, but they paid no attention to it, and continued their relentless march towards the tower. By now the two guards were quite sure the menacing squad meant only harm, so Kapp and Svigi prepared to hold the tower. But instead of storming the tower door, one of the party lowered his strange looking axe toward the tower and began making odd noises. The Mitgardians looked on in disbelief as what seemed to be a stream of ice began flowing toward the tower and then surrounding the walls. Kapp realized in a moment that the spectre meant to trap them inside the tower, and quickly headed for the door, calling to Svigi to do the same. They burst outside, knowing only too well that they had no chance of overpowering these new enemies, but determined to give their all defending Mitgardia. More pictures: link C&C welcome
