  1. Toy. Model. Thank you for viewing. I would be happy comments.
  2. Hi guys and girls. Today I will show you a wagon I built a few months ago. The first version I built in july 2012 and the first short version of it nearly one year later. In the beginning all my tankcars were used by z-oil (zentral oil), a virtual competitor of octan oil, because the only possible color of the wagons was dark purple. (the white cylinder panel was very expensive, but I could bought some cheap zurg-sets). But I hoped that lego give us these panels in dark or light bluish gray. In march 2015 was the time for this part. I found it in set 76038 and ordered 36 of these cylinders in the united states. So I finally could build some gray tankcars: The gray version drives for a lot of different companys, like "x2" or for a the greek company "oλ" (called o'kronlambda) (filled with compressed air :) ) Now I made a building instruction for this tankcar. I'm sorry, that the text is in german, but you only need the pictures to rebuild it. Here you can find the instruction. Bye. Michael
  3. Hello everyone I think my layout is now at a stage that I can present it as a whole to the community. As you will see I have still some space to expand it and there are quite a few buildings that I wish to rebuild/redesign to make them better. My layout has a classic 80/90 inspiration and that's why most of the new sets I have are from the creator/expert line. here it is a video showing the whole layout with the trains and the new ferris wheel motorised: As you can notice from the video, since I love trains, a large parte of the table is covered by rails. There are three stations. 1) Legoland C.le (C.le stands for Centrale in italian, the main station) 2) another smaller station, located on the sea-side and near the vulcano called Lego Ville: and another station that serves the airport: The town centre of Legoland features a square with a Market, a Pizzeria, and a Carrousel, the ruins of ancient abbey, always crowded by visitors, the town-hall (the yellow-brown building) and - of course - a police station: There is a residential area, which is mostly restaurant and country-side with a small beach: The main Harbour of the town, with a bridge for the trains, and a restaurant in an ancient mill: Finally there is the city area, with two main tall buildings: well, there are more ideas to develop my city but I want to hear what do you think so far

    MOC: Friends Party Train

My speculation and interpretation of the LEGO Friends Party Train based on the information posted so far in the 2016 Friends rumor thread. 41111 Party Train-Mia, small train, new animal Price on Amazon.de 9 Euro. I'm guessing it is one of those kids party train on tires or narrow gauge track that you can hire or rent. Maybe Mia is having a party for her animals and there is a ride for them. Friends Party Train by dr_spock_888, on Flickr I think the train tracks might put it over $10...
  5. Hi! As you can see on the two pictures above and in this short , this MOC is a copy of a real thing. We haven’t got a Grand Canyon, or an Eiffel in Hungary, but it’s still possible to find nice places here. For example Szilvásvárad (a little village) is one of the most best places of the country. There is a small valley here, which was made by the Szalajka creek. And at the and of it there is this beautiful waterfall. There are a lot of other sights, too, for example the ancient men’s cave, the lookout tower, etc. It’s possible to reach the end of the valley on foot, by bicycle, and by the narrow gauge railway. It has a 4 km long trank in the forest, near the creek. It was a forestry railway in the past, and now it’s the only narrow gauge railway in Hungary, which can maintain itself. It has more, than 200 000 passengers a year. The railway usually uses two engines. One of them was modernized a few years ago, it is the one on the main photo. My Lego version contains this engine, a passenger coach and the snack bar wagon. The snack bar wagon is almost always near the waterfall, sometimes the engine takes it back to the village to refill it. The amount of tourists is increasing, I guess it was the reason of some developments there. Due to them, the valley contains to much buildings and asphalt, but it’s still nice. Don’t forget to visit it, if you are in Hungary! You can find more pictures about the Lego model, and the real train on Mocpages! Thanks for watching!

    ChME-2 (Lite version)

Sorry for the translation. This Google translator to blame. ChME-2 (Lite version) I present you the model of the Czech shunting locomotive series 02. The train is fully prepared for the motorization (forward only the blue battery power supply). The model was constructed three days of the material at hand and without drawings "by eye", but in compliance with the scope and all the basic principles of railway Design Lego City Train Series and adjacent lots (once the selection and integration with simultaneous simplification of the core features of the original) and was a response to the apologists 8-9 pin-style building in the width of the trains, and equally, the presence in the collection and constant use 30+ trains format Lego City and their reluctance to dismantle and remake the wider (recall that counter is zh.d.dvizhenie character and track width and trains the most constant and least variable quantity in zh.d.stroitelstve how this track relates in scale to 8-9 pin trains - one more question). It is easier to collect additional new types of trains, not peredelivat and improve the already constant, starting from a series of zh.d.transporta city as a model, although sometimes imperfect, but the sample did. Waiting for comments, suggestions, objections. I will answer all. Politely. (I guess the answers to some users on the ratio of the train with the scale of minifigures, then report that minifiga safely placed and propose, then, to compare, as far as the length of the train is expected to increase with an increase in width from 6 to 8, and the length of trains in real Lego incarnation most painful and intractable theme (but probably not very useful)). Thank you for watching.
  8. Okay, let's try this again... This is the Wanderer train, from the classic American television series The Wild Wild West, constructed in LDD. A long term loan from the United States government, the Wanderer carried Secret Service Agents James West and Artemus Gordon across the country on countless vital missions, which often found them pitted against their arch-nemesis, the diminutive but deadly Dr. Miguelito Loveless. I attempted to design the train with the same considerations that go into making an actual Lego set of this size (though I'll probably continue tweaking it as I come up with better play features and more show-accurate designs). Current features include: -A full cast, featuring (from left to right) Artemus Gordon, Jim West, Miguelito Loveless, and Loveless' henchmen Voltaire and Antoinette -A sound brick in the coal car, which plays the theme from the show -Both passenger cars feature removable roofs and walls, and opening doors at both ends -Jim's car contains a drop-down weapons rack, pool table, and desk with concealed gun -Artie's Car is equipped with two workbenches, one for inventions and another for disguises -Dr. Loveless' prototype helicopter features dual missiles on the undercarriage and a gear to spin the rotors for liftoff If you like this project, please support it on LEGO Ideas!

  12. A few photos of a small LEGO train display I did as part of a small show at the weekend at Durham Cathedral as part of the 2nd birthday celebrations for the model (worth a look at the photos on their Facebook page). This display uses standard LEGO City/Creator vehicles (not something I fancied building on top of 84 baseplates of landscape for the larger layout!), and techniques I've seen and experimented with myself. For example, the corn is based on an idea from a LUG show (photos in this thread). Apologies for the quality of some of the photos - only had my phone with me on the day and some have come out a little dark! More of them are on flickr. I'm working on the remaining three quarters of the layout for Bricktastic in Manchester this August, so there's more to come very soon, hopefully! Doing this smaller show before then gave me a chance to test some of my ideas, so I'll leave you with some of my thoughts/discoveries: 1. having two long trains at the front of the small static layout does really block the view of the scenery behind (not an issue for the August show as trains will be moving!) 2. people really like finding the hidden scenarios in the display (e.g., hidden alien, construction worker caught short on the portaloo, farmer cleaning up after a cow) - gives it a little more impact, and rewards those who really look hard 3. the LEGO Minion to the left of the display was very popular (probably more so than my display!) 4. a lot of adults looking were surprised by what you can do with LEGO, and had lots of questions - so it's good to have some background knowledge and recommendations for local LUGs to help grow the community 5. using some actual LEGO sets was nice in that people recognised ones they had at home (and it saved me a lot of time!) 6. people will touch things! There were "no touching" signs on display, but no barriers (which I liked: more friendly). I purposely didn't have much towards the front that little (or larger) hands could get to. Nothing was stolen, and no harm was done - I'm not too precious about the LEGO I display so if kids (or the one adult I spotted) want to push the trains, I let them
  13. Today I made a new 12V layout that exactly fits the space between furniture in my living room, using various building tricks to bring the track where I want. I will be using this track to test a dual-voltage JR700 Shinkansen, that can run seamlessly on either 12V or 9V tracks. It uses a 12V pickup brick that feeds into the 9V engine using electric plates (trick discussed in these forums): https://drive.google...RDdqazRZZzJ1ZGc
  14. I am happy to finally be able to present my version of a Conrail GP40 [full gallery] The obvious resemblance to the Maersk locomotive from set 10219 is deliberate and I would call this build a MOD rather than a MOC. I wanted to approach the Maersk locomotive from a clean slate with the objectives of: (1) replicating a common North American locomotive (yeah, there was that NS unit, but that was only one engine, Conrail alone had a 275 GP40's). (2) With the lack of a "Creator Expert" train on the market right now, provide an affordable "gateway" build for new AFOL train fans looking for something more meaty than the city train sets. (3) Since this is meant to be a gateway MOD, keep the parts costs as low as possible. As of this writing, probably over $100 worth of the parts for this build can be found in set 60052. This includes a pair of blue train base plates (hence the pair of locomotives), the 6x16 tile to cover the PF gear, and of course all of the PF parts (not to mention a supply of track to run on). As my grandfather used to say, when TLG hands you blue train bases, make Conrail. (4) Having built a few heavy freight cars recently and acquiring wide radius curves from ME models, I am now in need of a few PF diesel freight engines. This build keeps the form factor from the Maersk, but a lot of the actual build is different, including a few new tricks (e.g., the exhaust stack). Since N. American locomotives rarely travel alone I had to build a pair (oh, and there is that second blue base plate in 60052 that would otherwise be lonely). One is powered (3051) and one is not (3245). Rather than use the 6x16 tile on the unpowered unit, I built the long hood on 3245 out of regular bricks. As I look at the two together, I like the smooth side better, but it is not easy to hide 4 wide PF in a 4 wide hood. With this MOD I have also addressed some of what I think are shortcomings in the original Maersk design, chief of which was doing away with the high friction technic axles for the loco trucks and adding a second motor under the powered unit for more pulling power. I am even using a purist PF reverser switch inside the hood, so there is a lot of wire stuffed in the space that remains. One of the things that really makes a build pop is the lettering. These locomotives have been complete for a few weeks, but the stickers misprinted and I had to redo the lot. I was finally able to apply them this past weekend (more detail on the sticker process can be found here) The basic design is meant to be customizable. I personally like the look of the unpowered unit and if I did not already have way too many 9v diesels I would probably put a 9v motor under it. I did my best to keep costs down by avoiding rare parts, of course if someone had a ton of 1x8's those could easilly be substituted for the 1x4's... or on the unpowered unit one could use 2x4's. There are still a few expensive parts that could be substituted out, e.g., 1x1 bricks with stud on the side are a little pricy in blue right now. There was the use of the blue train base plates, fairly common at the moment, hence the Conrail design. Then more subtle tweaks, for example the hand rails are completely different, borrowing the clip idea from the BNSF set 10133 to eliminate one set of expensive hoses and then using bars instead of hose for the railing to eliminate the other set of expensive hoses. I plan on releasing the instructions for free as a gateway to the hobby and selling the stickers for those who really like the build. The instructions will come out as soon as I can finish cleaning up the LDraw file (a few weeks) and if there are any early adopters I could start taking requests for the stickers now (send a PM). In my opinion the stickers are good quality (as shown in the pictures) but not perfect if look closely (also as shown in the pictures). [ full gallery]

    Custom lettering

So I've got a ton of lego train MOCs and I've been meaning to letter them for some time. My club has a show coming up in an art museum and I have so few new MOCs that I decided to take the plunge and spruce up some of my old MOCs. I made decals for four of my passenger trains, several of my steam engines and a few of my freight locomotives. So far I have only decorated the trains that I plan on displaying at the museum and one of my son's engines. Here are the results, first, my C&O passenger train, While I plan on rebuilding this train to make the cars 42 studs long, replace the black roof with dark blue, and perhaps make the locomotive PF, it was an obvious choice for the show because I live in C&O territory. A few more shots can be found here. While lettering the passenger train, I also decided to also letter my C&O BL2's Next, I decorated the cab on my son's sw1200. Finally, I lettered my NW J class and cars. I have one more shot of the new lettering in the main folder. I am least happy with this lettering job because it highlights a few deficiencies that would be really hard to rectify. Chief among them is that to my eye now the missing pin striping on the boundary between the red and black has become really noticeable. Without the lettering the missing pin striping was easy to overlook, but with the lettering it feels like it is missing. And no, at this moment I do not want to attempt the pin striping. Except for the sw1200 these are some of my older builds, from back when my passenger cars were mostly MODs of the Super Chief cars. With the lettering I am all the more interested in stretching these cars. But that will wait until time allows. I am not even half way through the equipment that I will be lettering on this pass. Almost all of what is left are my newer MOCs (I am very anxious to decorate my North Coast Limited). So more to come soon...
  16. Hello, the user L@go recently shared pictures from the Lego World. In one of them a Maersk train in green color scheme is shown: https://www.flickr.c...go/16329475100/ I wonder if anybody ever tried to build it in further color variations? I am particularly interested in cheaper variants because I think about bricklinking that train and I dont care so much to have it in the original azure color scheme. It is a shame that I was too late to get the original Lego Maersk train. Edit: Attached a cropped image of the green maersk train:

What train should I get next?

Hello everyone, a spot has just opened up on my layout for one more lego train. I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best, and i already have the 7939 yellow cargo train, 7938 red passenger train, horizon express, hogwarts express that is motorized with power functions, one extra set of power functions and 2 4.5 volt trains from the blue track era. I was thinking in the maersk or emerald night but they are both expensive so i can only really get 1 with my budget for lego trains. So please give your feedback and thank you in advance:)
  18. A few weeks back my girlfriend was away for the weekend. Since a few months we're living in a temporary rental house (a new house is being constructed right now) and this house has a nice big living room/kitchen. So I took the opportunity to build some nice long bridges and set up a huge layout. Ofcourse a video has been shot! Enjoy

    2-8-2 BR 86

Hello, Some weeks ago I built some train elements to be used as "atrezzo" in my pictures, they were intended to be decoration elements, but friends suggested me to build the complete engine and wagons, so I did it and this is the final result. The pictures are a bit blurry due the lack of light, sorry.
  21. This LEGO great ball contraption consists of a module that sorts the balls by its color and a train module that returns the balls to the start. Both modules use Mindstorms EV3s to control the motors. The train EV3 controls and original LEGO RC Train motor using a DIY cable. Enjoy!

    [MOC] 0-6-0 Steam Engine

Hey guys! I don't do very many MOCs but I do like to do them when I have the time. This time around I wanted to do something that I have not done before, 1. being I have never done a steam engine and 2. a train that does not use a conventional train motor bogie, I would have to build by own and it couldn't be exposed. Keeping that in mind I dove in and started building, this is not based on any train in particular which gave me some freedom on what I could put in. I also wanted to keep some of the classic LEGO train style in my model along with some newer styles. So the only thing to say is Enjoy and constructive criticism is encouraged! MOC 0-6-0 Steam Engine. by Rail Co, on Flickr The main classic element is the 45 degree slopes for the boiler, honestly I love the shape and I am glad I implemented it. I was able to find a chrome piece which looked good on the engine and I really like that. 23. Hi, I have a very special problem: For an exhibition (the day after tomorrow) I will use 12V-lights at my train station. I tried this function with a gray 12V transformator and the switch with the train crossing pattern: (set 5083). Everythings worked and I was happy. Right button turn the lights on, left button turn the lights off. Everything is fine. But: Now I need this remote Control switch to use the train crossing, but I had another set 5081 - remote control witch SIGNAL pattern. I opened (because it was sealed (ovp)) and I tried to use ist. But it doesn't works. I think, it isn't broken. I think the reason is to find into the different between these both switch. The signal one stayed "down", after I pressed the button, and when I press the other button (red or green), the first button comes up. The switch witch train crossing pattern works so: If I pressed any button, the button comes up immediately. Also the train crossing has 2x three holes and the backside, the signal switch has 1x five holes and 1x three holes. Could someone help me to understand the function. And: Why I couldn't connect normal light bricks with the signal switch. Does set 5080 works (Remote control for switch). Or does the switch in set 7862 works? Please help me. Michael
  24. When I was a child (a looong time ago), I dreamed of such cool trains. Today, we have created a railway section outside. And I think, the "my first train"-set 10507 and the older one, 5608, are both cool. I say that as a father and an AFOL. So, this is my little video:
  25.
