  1. Hi everyone! As I really liked the 7346 Seaside House, I bought two and turned them into a 16-wide modular building with two small studios. The lower has a terrace with direct beach access, the upper a large balcony and the bedroom upstairs. Comments and suggestions welcome, thanks for looking! --- Jamie is nervous - maybe tonight's dinner at the fancy restaurant is a better opportunity? Originals on Flickr.
  2. This model was the third place winner in Swebricks LEGO competition "The city we built". Here is (the badly translated) description I had for my model: "Businesses had been bad for Ragge Runarson in the increasingly desolate little town. Because of the current recession, sales had fallen drastically and all of his employees had to quit. It was with mixed feelings that he was standing at the window of the office building and looking out over his lifework. He remembers how he so happily rode to work every morning on his red bicycle. And he remembers the now broken cement mixer which he would use to finish cementing the walkway to the white cottage. Soon, however, there would come a person who was interested in buying the building, so then Ragge could start all over again!"
  3. It's a train, for a village, in the winter, or other scenic season. In case you don't visit the Train Tech forum, I'd like to announce this complementary themed train set for which I'd greatly appreciate your support vote over at LEGO IDEAS. New Mannum Rebooted

Okay, so you're what gives.......2015.....already ? Ha, well I must start preparing for Railshow and Bricktopia 2015.....so I don't leave things too late eh ? First cab off the rank to face a redo......True Value Hardware. Now I based this one more on this...... This one is in South Australia, though I kept the top section from the Western Australia store design......I think this one is a greater improvement - looks more genuine South Aussie and more items can be displayed in the windows. The Landmark store is next...only a few buildings are getting the treatment so the layout doesn't go back to being boring again ! Keep watching !
  5. This is my first MOC post on Eurobricks - hope you like it. Lots of commuters are leaving the underground station. Play well princeofgonville (https://www.flickr.c...inceofgonville/)

    Holiday Destination - Beach (WIP)

Hi all, I've been wanting to build a Lego city for a very long time, ever since I started watching YouTube videos on people's cities and thinking 'I wish I could do that', then I moved into my own house and the dream became a reality! It took a while between deciding to do it and actually doing it, mainly because I had no idea how to do it and which route to take. I wasn't too keen on having an 'urban' looking city, nothing against them (and the majority of those I've seen are incredible) but I wanted something more cheery and relaxing. In the end, I decided to model my city on a Spanish holiday destination where I used to go when I was younger; it had everything I wanted to build: beach, walkway, palm trees, restaurants, and lots more little bits and pieces that'd make for an interesting build. For my first build I wanted to do something relatively simple (which later turned out NOT to be simple) so I chose to do the 'hub' of the whole scene: the beach. http://s1373.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0 The wall was the tricky (or time consuming) part - initially I build the whole structure with a one stud overlap, and meant to form a 'lip' on the top of the wall for baseplates to be slotted nicely on top and held together with tiles. This was all well and good until I realised it would be impossible to move the finished town if I kept it in that layout, so I changed to a modular method: I plan to raise the whole city to be level with the walls of the beach, and connect it all using technic pins. It's a costly method, and maybe a bit overkill, but I'll be the easiest way to allow the town to be mobile. I'm wanting to finish the beach before I start work on another main part, and need a mountain of tan 4 x 4 plates and trans light blue 1 x 2 plates, the latter of which is very expensive for its size (maybe my luck will come in and it'll appear on a pick-a-brick wall...) but my side project for this - the part that I need help with - is the furniture for the beach: lilos, deck chairs, umbrellas, tables etc. If anyone's made or seen anything like that (or has any suggestions of what else could go on the beach), I'd very much enjoy seeing it! Thank you all very much, EuroBricks is slowly becoming my most visited site - mainly because I've not seen one nasty or hurtful comment yet, and that's wonderful I have a more detailed blog of this at www.legoseafronttown.blogspot.co.uk (hopefully I can post the link) which I plan to update in the coming few days.

    MOC: Fire Station

As a request of lightningtiger I want to take the chance to show you a few pictures of my small fire station I built in 2011. It's a mixture of the 2009 official headquarter (#7945) with a few more realistic extras based on a classic baseplate. A little garage extension on the left side completes the look. As you can imagine, this station shall not be a headquarter, just a small institution placed in the suburbs. There are only an engine and a ladder for fire prevention. The engine is also equipped with apparatus for technical asstistance. The little car is for every day deliveries between the different fire stations. An old school oberhead projector I put some more more details on it like the exhaust gas hoses or a big foam nozzle There is room for two big trucks The small garage A neat little garden for recreation The fire apparatus And these are some of guys who are on duty. Well, the ballons are in german language only, 'cause they are part of a comic... Hope, you'll have fun watching these pictures. C&C very welcome! Best regards, Farnheim

    MOC - ANVIL Hardware Store

I'm back again with my favorite kind of MOC......a hardware store ! This time a bit different, no stickers at all, based on the new Lego shop design and an original logo/name/brand. You can see why it's called ANVIL Hardware right ? I still might have a few little changes yet......like staff and customers......and it will be forming a new series of MOC's by myself (no, not for NM). Keep watching !

  12. Hi all! This is my first MOC post and due to a lack of parts (and skills, it turns out) I'll be sharing this diary styles - a little like Lightning Tiger's - so you all can see and contribute to the build. So far it's gone from this: to this: With a whole lot of rebuilds along the way! Currently only the basic wall layout for the lower floor is complete. The left side of the build is a bedsit complete with old cat lady and exterior stairs to the second floor. The right is the ground floor bookstore and small rear exterior for a dumpster etc (I'd like to devise a working trash chute). There will be another 16x16 plate to be the footpath (or 'sidewalk') featuring a newspaper and magazine vendor in front, as the set is designed to be played with an open hinge (forming a handy 16x16 square). The second story will be a two bedroom family apartment, and above that there will be a nominal roof terrace 'garden' (probably only on one side). The book shop doors are unfinished and I'll be working on some brick built ones in the morning. Also the base plate colours need work, don't you think? I've set myself up with a pretty steep challenge as well. The build has to meet some criteria which have been defined by myself out of fun and also from necessity, as this MOC will end up being played with by my 5 1/2 yo (and the Friends target age) and we don't have a lot of money to spend on parts. Challenge: 1) It has to fit in the Friends/City universe, and I like to think it fits somewhere in between - a little closer to Heartlake maybe, a hard working borough on the outskirts of town? Bella calls it 'the Neighbourhood'. Thanks Mr. Rogers! Anyway, it has to look like a proper Lego building, with that nice Lego realism/playability balance. 2) It has to be easily accessible, playable (durable!) and buildable by kids in the 5-12yo range. 3) The parts must come from one major set (3185) and any other parts used must be readily available in small sets, polybags etc. (btw, does this make it a mod?) 4) Key design challenge - it has to be compact. The whole shebang is designed to close up, stack up and be put away neatly. (No spreading mini-builds!) 5) It has to be aesthetically pleasing in both 'closed' and 'open for play' form; including using a reasonably limited colour palette, not covering/blocking wall panels (a real bugbear of mine) and not having large expanses of blankness. 6) There have to be at least 3 "real" play features. Guess who gets to judge what constitutes real?! I'm always so in awe of the amazing MOCs I see on here, especially the high quality modular buildings. This sure isn't one of them, but I hope you can see the inspiration. Thanks for reading!
  13. Since some are having fun rebuilding actual sets into different items, I thought I do something along similar lines......though I had to add about a dozen extra parts not included in these....... and Now the result of the fusion of designs plus a few extra little ideas of my own...... Keep watching.....I might build something else out of the scraps left over.

    (WIP), My Corner Fire Brigade

Hi again! Here to show my work in progress my modular 64x32 corner fire brigade. I tried to do something a little unique compared to other FB mods, and I don't see many corner mods. I'm going to rip apart a lot of it later to tweak some seams and get a sturdier design in some areas. I don't particularly like my bell tower, and will probably redesign the whole thing to make it....blockier. Sorry about the picture size. I'm riding the strugglebus today. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/CSIguy/FireBrigadeMod/091320141003.jpg

    hello from Lauriator89!

Hello to everybody! I'm Lauriator89 and I'm Italian! I'm a lego maniac since 1990. I love classic castle, pirates, town, monster fighters and toy story. I am very happy and proud to be on eurobricks and share with you my big passion for lego!
  16. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I got myself a fancy account and everything. So I finally got around to starting my own MOD, since I figured it was a good segue into making my own custom modular buildings. I'm working on a full on expansion to the Fire Brigade. I want it 64x32, with one end being a corner. I don't see too many 64x32 buildings on a corner, and I wanted to do something a little more unique than adding another floor or just extending the same design outwards like I see with many FB mods. The problem I'm coming too is angled walls. I would like a 45 degree wall on the corner, but nothing seems to be working out. Does anyone have any good recommended guides for angled walls, or maybe a technique in LDD they could show me? I'm truly stumped. I had a really good curved wall similar to what is shown in the Helm's Deep sets, but it didn't feel like it matched the FB motif. Finally, I would like some advice on roads. While I prefer brick built roads, I'd rather put my resources towards my buildings and just use road plates. The problem I come to it that if I use the sidewalk with the modulars plus the side walk on the roads it seems too wide, but if I build the modular on top of the side walk in the plate, the streets seem very narrow and tight. Any advice? Look forward to showing off my MOD once it's worthy of your guys' eyes. I admire the work I see here so much.

    The Northland - Relief Map

Hello Here comes the newest moc out of THE BRICK TIME - Building-yard The Northland - Micro Scale About 150 hours of work and nearly 2000 bricks flows in this project. A map of the Northland. The continent where all our story´s happens. First have a look at the facts: Scale: 1 Stud - about 3,2 Miles The map is a diagrammatic representation. The scale isn´t fixed. For example: The town´s are with intent bigger, because of their important meaning. But that downs´t mean, that they are really that big. One tree you see is a whole forrest in real. In the north lays the Loka-Massiv, a impregnable mountain range, and home of the barbarian tribes. To the south, behind the border lays a temperate zone and the realm: Northland. The urban and south is the granary of the whole continent. The three large towns are: Grimmhavn - Gate to the northland (located in the south) Dunholm - Capital (located in the middle of the urban south) Wehrhavn - largest harbor and home of the fleet (located in the north-west) Find out more on the FlickR gallery and on THE BRICK TIME. Best reagrds BoB

    MOC - Boardwalk Arcade

A wonderful boardwalk arcade for Lego minifigs to play some of the latest pinball machines and video games or compete on the classic bubble hockey and foosball tables. Maybe they come in to hear their favorite song on the antique jukebox. Whatever their pleasure, the bright and vivid atmosphere of this arcade is welcoming and warm. The model is based on those arcade halls that would typically be found on a beachfront boardwalk, but is common enough that it would fit into any city theme. I used 3 colors of blue, contrasted with the yellow and magenta colors for a beautiful facade and wild and energetic interior.

Now I'm sorry for the poor photo but thanks to some tech problems....I had to use my phone camera. The first one is for sporting goods. Keep watching because there is more coming over the next few weeks. (plus if I can get the tech problems solved better image I will try for)

    MOC Soltown

Hola, I'm a new member, but have been lurking for many years. At the moment I'm working on a classic themed Lego town in our guest room/my Lego room. I want it too look very 80's and early 90's, because that was the era when I was a kid (I was born in 1981). But I want it to have new features also, so it feels like a town that's been around for some time, with different layers of time periods just like a real town. Soltown has an airport, two train stations, a medieval castle that attracts tourist, lots of policemen since it's a bit of a dictatorship, a harbor and so on. You'll see most of it in my shaky youtube video ... Here's the link It's still under construction. I think it will be finished in late August, because I'm going away on vacation. If you search for the hashtag #lego on instagram, you will probably see some more pics of the different stuff that's going on in Soltown. Anyways, I'm so inspired by all the cool MOCs your posting here, so I hope I can contribute some myself to this great community. Here's a pic of how Soltown looked a couple of weeks ago, but in the youtube video you'll see a lot of changes (I've removed the train yard because I wanted a more compact town)
