  1. We all know that LEGO will not release many of our favorite movie or television characters. Here is thr place to show off your purist figures! Rules (I know, bad word, but must be done): 1. Absolutely must be purist. That means no 3rd party brands, knockoffs, or any custom printing. These must be made from existing LEGO parts. 2. No Star Wars, Marvel, or DC characters. There are separate forums for those. 3. Keep the profanity to a minimum. We have people of all ages here. No hard cursing. Otherwise, let's do this!
  2. LEGO Masters, a television show in which teams of contestants have their building and creative skills pitted against each other starts tomorrow (24 August 2017) at 8pm on Channel 4 (with repeats 27 August at 11.05pm and 29 August at 1.15am). Guest presenters include Richard Osman, Bill Bailey and Dara O'Briain. Can we assume they're AFOLs? Here's the trailer. And here's the press release. Apologies if this has been mentioned on the EB boards already. I had a look but didn't see anything.

The Walking Dead (TV Series) Discussion

So here we find ourselves at Season 7. Upon a quick search of Eurobricks last night, I found that this topic didn't already exist. The show has a tremendous following, and believe it to be a fantastic show on every level. Given "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," we have plenty to talk about. So, what did you all think of Negan's choice pick? Was it a shock, or did you see it coming? Was it too much? How will it further effect the cast throughout this season and beyond? -Speaking of which, this should be a no-brainer (get it?) but I don't think this is the place for any gruesome photos from the series, especially those of the spoilery type. Mods: I understand if this is a TV-MA series, and thus a more adult topic. I know there is also a Game of Thrones thread, so I don't believe this will go too far.
  4. Here's my first bigger building project from this Spring. This was a part of our Finnish LUG's modular city at Model Expo 2016 in Helsinki Fair Center in April. Desperate Housewives has been my favourite tv series for a long time, and I have wanted to build the houses and their residents in brick for ages. I knew it would take a lot of effort, but I couldn't imagine how last-minute-ready the whole thing will finally be. You can see a few shortcuts taken here and there, but the main point was whole time more on the whole street itself than on little details. Of course I wanted to make the residents as authentic as I could at the moment, and it was a must to include as much small story details into the layout as possible - still keeping only one copy of each character present. I'm finishing my 10-year-inventory soon so there will be an update to my Wisteria Lane now that I have all the time, space and bricks I ever need for it. But here's finally a photographical look over my street: (few photos here, rest of them at Brickshelf, when available: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=565325) There's also a gallery in Facebook about the Street: https://www.facebook...153560424156769 Mary Alice, Paul and Zach Young & Martha Huber and Felicia Tillman Van de Kamp's house Katherine Mayfair's house Aerial view from the first part of the street Aerial view from the second part of the street Aerial view from the park end of the street
  5. At the end of tonight's Newsnight on BBC2, there was a fan LEGO cartoon! It was pretty well done. If you're in the UK, you should be able to catch it soon on iPlayer. You might also be able to see it on BBC America - I'm not sure. Elsewhere, you'll probably need a proxy server.
  6. Okay, let's try this again... This is the Wanderer train, from the classic American television series The Wild Wild West, constructed in LDD. A long term loan from the United States government, the Wanderer carried Secret Service Agents James West and Artemus Gordon across the country on countless vital missions, which often found them pitted against their arch-nemesis, the diminutive but deadly Dr. Miguelito Loveless. I attempted to design the train with the same considerations that go into making an actual Lego set of this size (though I'll probably continue tweaking it as I come up with better play features and more show-accurate designs). Current features include: -A full cast, featuring (from left to right) Artemus Gordon, Jim West, Miguelito Loveless, and Loveless' henchmen Voltaire and Antoinette -A sound brick in the coal car, which plays the theme from the show -Both passenger cars feature removable roofs and walls, and opening doors at both ends -Jim's car contains a drop-down weapons rack, pool table, and desk with concealed gun -Artie's Car is equipped with two workbenches, one for inventions and another for disguises -Dr. Loveless' prototype helicopter features dual missiles on the undercarriage and a gear to spin the rotors for liftoff If you like this project, please support it on LEGO Ideas!
  7. I'm sort of keeping up with the organised rewatch of X-Files (netflix / DVD / whatever) leading up to the new 6-part season in January (s01e12 Beyond the Sea up next for me). Anyway, have been inspired to make some LEGO X-Files related vignettes and scenes (Mulder's office is the first big one planned). Haven't started on the builds yet. But I got a few parts in the mail today from Bricklink, so have a few trial minifigs whipped up - Mulder, Scully, Deep Throat (though he may end up becoming the basis for Cigarette Smoking Man), and Cecil the pyro dude from "Fire" (s01e11). All purist so far, but may get custom handguns and flashlights... and crazyarms to enhance the figs.
  8. Go forth and link removed Because we always need more trains, especially when they're based on a classic TV show!

    [LDD MOC] Modular Archer HQ

I don't know how many of you watch FX's Archer, but I love the show, and of course I just had to make it digitally in LEGO and as a modular building, so it will fit in with any city layouts, in theory. For those of you who don't follow the show, Archer is a spy-comedy about a spy agency named ISIS. It lampoons James Bond and all other sorts of things. The exterior of the building. As you can see, it also has the parking garage. Let's move onto the characters (left to right): Sterling Archer, our womanizing functioning alcoholic lead; Lana Kane, Archer's on-off again girlfriend and their kid AJ, and her twin SMGs; Malory Archer, Archer's overbearing mother and spy master, along with her scoped pistol; Cyril Figgis, the comptroller; Cheryl/Carol Tunt and her ocelot Babou, also includes a microphone for when she sings as Cherlene; Pam Poovey, the HR head and her dolphin puppet. Dr. Krieger, the crazy German doctor/scientist and one of the Pigglys and his "jazz hands"; Ray Gillette, the flamboyant spy who loses the ability to walk but regains it thanks to Krieger; Woodhouse, Archer's butler; Bilbo, the overweight tech support; Krieger clone; Krieger's Virtual Girlfriend Bobby, Archer's arch nemesis and cyborg who works for the KGB for sometime; Katya, Archer's ex-fiance who also becomes a cyborg; and Popeye, the man who runs the laundromat on the first floor of the building. Next we have Krieger's van, which changes color throughout the series as they get destroyed. Ray's wheelchair The garage where employees can park their cars, with removable roof. Only the first floor is accessible. The laundromat, with sliding door for the hidden elevator The next floors are attached and at the top is Krieger's lab, which can be accessed by the elevator. It includes a tank to put the Krieger clone in. The armory and gun range is on the next floor and stocked with various weapons. Finally we have the office floor. It has all of the main rooms I could fit, and many are smaller than the show just to have everything fit. You can see from left to right: Malory's office, Cheryl's desk, the breakroom/torture room, and the mainframe. On the other side (left to right) we have the computer room where Bilbo works, Cyril's office and Pam's office. Enjoy!
  10. Hi there, Here are some photos of my newest model I displayed at BrickFair VA this past weekend, a diorama depicting the set of the classic BBC Two sitcom Fawlty Towers. The hall tree with dual umbrella stands in the vestibule at the back of this photo can be seen in better detail here. Here's another shot from the con showing the reception desk, the fire bell, and the moose head with a broken antler. Here's a work-in-progress picture showing an alternate corbel design in light grey and some of the winder stairs. Here's what the whole diorama looked like from the front sitting on the table, which provides another view of the staircase. I plan to modify this and post another set of photos once I get some parts I don't yet own and will maybe even build the upstairs or exterior. Thanks for looking, Nathan
