  1. It's been a while since I've posted anything around these parts, but with Halloween fast approaching in the States, I thought I should take advantage of the season to post up another Monster Fighters MOC! Back in 2020, I had posted a little grove for some of the CMF witches LEGO's been putting out over the years. Overall it's a nice addition with the rest of the official Monster Fighters sets (which get a workout every time this year), although I hadn't quite nailed down a good-looking vehicle for the monster slayers two years ago, as you can see below: So after posting that, I got some good feedback, and took another swing at it in December of that year. Needless to say I finally got around to photographing it this summer, so without further ado, allow me to present... The Witchfinder! As you can see, I tried to make this match the approximate design of some of the other vehicles belonging to the Monster Fighters, with the trans-black windscreen, dark-bluish grey machine components and of course the dominant non-primary color scheme. I also made sure this truck looked like something that could clear away the thickest underbrush in the most haunted forest, hence all the spikes and saw bits on the front, in addition to the floodlights on top of the cab: As for the water turret in the rear, that can rotate a full 360 degrees and there is enough of a gap for the gunner to see where they're aiming, as Ann Lee can demonstrate: I also wanted to make sure there was enough clearance for a minifigure to operate the water cannon machinery in the rear, which also helps cover up the gear box part. And if the two Monster Fighters need to get out of their truck to finish the job, all they have to do is pull out the crate... And pop off the top! Then you can slot it right back into its original spot! Lastly, the cab roof does pop off, so you can throw in any other minifigure your heart desires (although Rodney Rathbone may need a different seat)! So there you have it! One gnarly monster-slaying truck to accompany the secluded wooded grove where all the witches gather. Overall I'm pretty happy with how it came together. Sure, the truck probably looks more contemporary than some of the other vehicles from that line, but seeing how The Zombies has a truck which looks pretty 20th Century, along with the hot rod in Vampyre Castle, I like to think this fits in rather well with the rest of the vehicles in their garage! More photos here in my Bricksafe folder if you want to take a glance. Otherwise, may your cauldrons always be bubbling!
  2. For my entry into the Eurobricks Create a Theme Contest , I've decided to create a new theme centered around cryptozoology, entitled Cryptid Hunters. This theme features a team of super-secret agents, scientists, and researchers sent out on missions to find, document, and analyze various legendary cryptids! The team has to avoid the dangers of the cryptozoology world while documenting the sightings and interviewing witnesses. This theme would function as a spiritual successor to Monster Fighters and Hidden Side; two beloved spooky themes from TLG. I've outlined two sets from the theme below, both built digitally using Bricklink's Studio: Flatwoods Monster: Encounter in the Forest [78 pieces, 3 minifigures, $10 USD] The legendary Flatwoods Monster has been spotted in the forest! Enter the forest, investigate the crashed meteor, and attempt to document the elusive monster. Includes tree, crashed meteor with a crystal inside, and a light brick! Includes three minifigures: Secret Agent, Scientist, and the Flatwoods Monster! Mothman: Encounter at the Old Lighthouse [913 pieces, 4 minifigures, $100 USD] Mothman has been drawn to the light at the old lighthouse! Hurry to the lighthouse using the stealthy speedboat, draw Mothman away using the searchlight, and save the lighthouse keeper! Includes speedboat, old dinghy, and lighthouse with detailed interior and working light! Includes 4 minifigures: 2 secret agents, lighthouse keeper, and Mothman! [Author's note: the lighthouse would work similarly to the one seen in set 5770, even using the same mirrored sticker] In theory, this theme would also feature 3 other sets: a small set with the Loveland Frog in a swamp, a medium set with Bigfoot and a log cabin, and a medium-large set with the Loch Ness Monster. I would absolutely love to see a theme like this from TLG one day; I feel like it would work well and be in line with their previous spooky themes. Thank you for checking out my contest entry, I hope you all enjoy it!

  4. -When hinges creak in doorless chambers- -and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls,- -whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still,- -that is the time when ghosts are present,- -practicing their terror with ghoulish delight!- Disney's The Haunted Mansion Welcome, foolish mortals, to Mad Monster Mansion! This game is indeed a Mafia School game, and is open to players of all skill levels, both the experienced, the not-so-experienced, and the completely new. This game will be relatively standard in terms of the roles and atmosphere found in most Eurobricks Mafia games, and is a great starting point for anyone interested in playing! Before you may proceed, you must sign up. Post in this thread if you desire to play, and please answer these three questions: 1. Have you played Mafia before? If yes, what kind of experience do you have with Mafia? 2. Will you be able to participate for the next four to six weeks? 3. You've just been cast to play a monster in a big budget movie! What monster or scary creature are you cast as? Sign ups will continue until we get 15 players, but I can extend the amount of participants if need be by a little. As said above, sign ups are open to everyone, so get the word out! Ghoulish fun begins soon!

Here on Eurobricks we love to give our members cool prizes and we've got a treat for you. Two LEGO Dimensions character packs are up for grabs! Treehouse of Horror is now a Halloween tradition, so it fits the season! What I want to see is some Spooky Simpsons builds. We can see the folks of Springfield enjoying the festivities, representation of our favourite alien visitors or some creation of favourite tales from the treehouse. So get building and have fun.
  6. SKULL GRINDER This here is a pre-emptive revamp of Skull Grinder, which I used to experiment with some more unique structural building, as well as more slender building. I've had this built for a while, but have only recently got him photographed. Enjoy! And here's his skeleton. Note the upper body structure - I'm very proud of how that turned out :) Whaddya think?

    MOC: Skull Ripper

I really like the designs for the Bionicle sets we're getting this summer, so this here is a MOC built in the same sort of style. It was fun figuring out the ribcage detail, and also working with lots of transparent parts. If enough people ask, I may just make a how-to on how to build this guy! EDIT: Instructions here!
