    HMS Ontario

This is my first posting on a Eurobricks forum HMS Ontario LDD by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Two Masts - Snow - 22A And to start me off I will post my first LDD-design. Back in 2010 It was my first attempt designing an accurate ship using LDD. It was supposed to look like the British Snow "HMS Ontario"

    MOC - Old Harbour Ferry

I've had this up on flickr for a while, but haven't posted it to EB. This is inspired by the old wooden ferry boats that used to ply Sydney's inner harbour when I was a kid. My father was a harbour ferry master for a while, so I practically had the run of the whole ferry from the wheelhouse to the mess (not the engine room unescorted) from about age 7 to 10. My favourites were the few old small wooden ferries like the Caribee and the Karingal that were still operational in the early 80s.
  5. Hello, everyone. I have another MOC to present you today. This one is based off of the A-Wing Starfighter as seen in Star Wars: Rebels season 2. It's based on the 2013 A-Wing model, but with many changes made in order to closer match the starfighter as seen on television. Playfeatures include retractable landing gear, opening cockpit window, and hidden storage compartments. Minifigures include Commander Sato, Ahsoka Tano, and an A-Wing pilot. This set rests at 213 pieces. Any comments, criticisms, or thoughts are welcome and encouraged! I've included the .lxf file for those who would like to fiddle with the design themselves. More pictures as well as another download for the .lxf file can be found here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=558711 (Note: folder may be private until approved) A-Wing Starfighter.lxf

    [Challenge 2] [Cat-B] K-BOX-42

When life give you lemons, cut them with your Kawashita sword. The K-BOX-42 is Col. Brik's last ditch last day effort to have a proper ship ready for the alien invasion that may occur. Using the broken parts of a ship almost finished Col. Brik threw his redshirt brigade to work in a binge build to still be ready in time. This was actually built all today, I had a issue with my previous ship, this is what I found late last night. It "feel down" according to my boys. I wasn't mad, it wasn't really working out for me. http://i.imgur.com/IuGqV5yl.jpg this is what it looked like a week or so ago. http://i.imgur.com/DSn2BUZl.jpg
  7. This is my second SHIP ever, it measures in at 106 studs long, and just under 6 pounds. It's quite sturdy and features an interior, opening missile bay, rotating turrets, and working missile launchers. Plus a there's a docking location for a small speeder. The MANTIS corp. has been rapidly producing a heavily armed fleet of spaceships. The Stinger is only a mid sized battle cruiser, but it packs plenty of firepower with it's laser turrets, various missiles, and heavy ion cannon. Standard crew consists of just 6 men thanks to advanced technical systems. Plus it's powerful plasma engines make it one of the faster ships around See lots more pictures on my website: link Thanks for looking

    MOC - Atlantis Prowler Jr.

After quite some time hiding in the closet a small 6268 - "renegade runner" ship was found, along with a couple of days to spend ! Later on I found out unused bricks from Lego set Atlantis came up rather productive. So...feeling nostalgic after a long time without Lego, since playing with those was like 20yrs ago I thought, why wouldnt I make those unused briks into something usefull ? So there it is, I present you the newly born "Atlantis Prowler Jr." ! I used Lego 6286 as my quide for captains suite, available bricks on my desk brought me somewhere else, but ok, since this is MOC, I think it should be fine ! SidePic One Mast 8B Despite the fact this ship is as small as it gets, it was possible to make a dungeon with capture doors and front bars for prisoner to have some light in his confined space ! The doors are blended in with their surroundings, so you wouldnt really know theres anything hiding below. MiniDungeon Sides can be opened as with serious bigger ships, comes in handy really, couldnt live without it now forum image hosting I updated the canon (Variant 6286 - Skulls Eye), modified myself, because original was to deep in the hull and fixed on ground. This one can move left and forth and has more place to move arround. Canon Portrait The captains quarters are high, just as I wanted them to be. I must say I'm satisfied with the result, keeping in mind the limited resources I had at my disposal SidePicLeft SidePicRight The decor is massive, I thought if I'm putting some time into it I might make it also count. Theres a thin line between enough and too much, therefore I hope I reached the golden middle there...chains also add some flow to the silhouette. FrontView From top its all visible, much more space to move arround, more deckspace also makes up for opticaly bigger ship. TopView As you can see all that is left original is compass, hull pieces, canon and sails, other bricks are all from Lego Atlantis Set. Hope you like it, I do because it's the smallest ship in my fleet !

  11. Challenge 2 Category B Octan Entry Pilot, and occasional First Executive/Acting-CEO, John Hannibal commissioned the O.T.C. "Mercy Brandy" to further his goal of colonizing Octan territory with entrepreneurial, hard-working colonists brave enough to leave the familiar atmosphere of Earth and embark on a journey of momentous potential. The "Mercy Brandy" is a unique ship. Formally a long-range bomber on Earth, her hull was sealed and engines modified for space travel. Now, instead of wasteful bombs, the ship carries colonization pods, customized and delivered to colonists throughout the galaxy to sustain their expeditions and provide them with the tools to survive new worlds. There are many aspects of the ship that mimic it's belligerent origin. Hannibal was adamant that this ship be capable of reinforcing any colony at a moments notice, regardless of enemy blockades, unfriendly climates, or incredible distances. Thus, evasion and defensive counter-measures were enhanced and a specialized crewman would have the role of monitoring all surrounding "air"space and neutralizing any incoming projectiles. The engines were also upgraded with heat and atmospheric disruption dampeners to hide any signature of the ships course. Hatches on the tail of the ship allowed ship-to-ship docking and towing of smaller starfighers or exploration craft. Hannibal's job as a pilot with Octan leads to a large variety of smaller ships docked to the Mercy Brandy. Currently, the OS-461 and a small speeder bike are available for aiding the colonists. Inside, Hannibal and his crew oversee the ship. The spacious cockpit/command-bridge is quickly filled with colonists when the mission calls for it, but the current arrangement allows for Hannibal to analyze a variety of HUD's throughout the mission. When deploying pods, Hannibal vigorously scans readouts of the surrounding landscape and identifies threats and resources previously unknown to his people on the ground. His assistant crunches the numbers on their investment and constantly pushes the crew to move on to subsequent deliveries. On either side of the bridge, crewmen can find their sleeping quarters when not on duty. Seating can be attached to the floor in most locations except on the path to and the hatch below the evasion specialist in the rear. He is the only crewman required to have a personal oxygen supply and a decompression suit at all times. From his position the specialist can override the pilot's controls (although effective flying really requires both a pilot at the main controls and a co-pilot at his side). The hatch below him leads to the cramped cargo area in the tail of the ship, which exits out to a main ramp and two more hatches for ship-to-ship connections. Engines and counter-measures array. Rear landing pad/ship-to-ship link-up Thanks for looking. C&C always appreciated. I plan to keep this together for BrickUniverse Dallas in November, so come see it if you're in the area.

    [K - A04] The Kyogy

The project announced by Admiral Cressen floated before them, a huge ship, longer than the mighty Akena-class dreadnought but thinner, slender. The vessel, called Kyogy, could transport starfighters and assault shuttles, the large hangar that had two secondary hangar and a secondary exit was able to manage and accommodate enough material as it could be transported on a cargo ship of medium size; there was also the same space in the holds. It wasn't a battle ship, but it wasn't defensless either, it's main defense were the advanced shields, the point-defense laser cannons, the missile launchers and the starfighters on board. But the purpose was another: the whole ship, with its compartmentalized holds, the set of industrial vehicles, laboratories and refining stations, the crew itself, was designed for the planetary exploit. The Kyogy would be the first to arrive on new planets and discover the resources, starting their exploitation. The engineer Alexander Vandangant had been designated by Admiral Cressen to head the project in a private meeting on the Akena and was now on its way to the ship that would be under his command. The Admiral smiled "What do you think, Engineer?" "Is long." he chuckled without looking away from the ship that was rapidly enlarging. "In fact, it's a completely different design than Akena or the Akira, but it's effective." The ship was now closer, the shuttle slowed down and oriented parallel to the large launch deck direct to the wide main hangar entrance. Other shuttles were shuttling between the ship, the orbital yards and the planet. The ship was preparing for its inaugural journey that will lead it directly to the battlefield. The shuttle slowed further and slowly walked into the cavernous main hangar; below them, there was a continual coming and going of men and droids. The typical frenzy of the incoming beginning of a new mission. Admiral Cressen led the engineer, his team, and their associated official, Commander Eirik Rekla, in a small tour of the ship: the hangar, the laboratories, and other parts of the ship. "The bridge." annouced the Admiral while the doors opened before them: around the main helm, the various stations had already mostly occupied, a slight chatter pervaded the large room as all the various pre-mission controls were carried on. "From now on, his mission will continue from be here." the Admiral led the way to the main helm, raised above the others and with a good view of the outside. "Commander Rekla will help in the management of the ship, and you will worry about the mission." Captain Rekla and Alexander exchanged a nod of acknowledge. "I would say we are, then." Admiral rubbed his hands, a smile on his face as he watched the bridge. "His first mission will be again on Mynderis, M.AN.T.I.S had opposed more resistance than expected and we need the ship as a moving base there." "Yes, sir." "I'm sure it will be a very good officer, makes Kawashita Group proud of him, Engineer." after slapping him on the shoulder, the Admiral turned to Rekla "Commander, I have great confidence in him." Rekla nodded "Thank you, Sir." "Good luck, you all." Admiral Cressen smiled, before starting to move to the lift tah will bring him to the hangar. The Commander and the engineer looked at each other "We'd better get ready." Alexander smiled and with a nod he left the command of the operation to Reckla. "First officer." Reckla called "Update me on the status of the ship." = = = = = = = = = Here with are, my second ship ever!!! This is a continuation of what I started in the Akena's Officers Quarters, the project mentioned there is that ship, the Kyogy. I tried to move from the usual battleship going for a more industrial ship, inside there is all the necessary for refining small quantity of material of every type, so it's perfect for looking for resources on new planets. I plan on building more inside, like a foundry, we will see if I can come up with something good; I plan to continue and deepen the interaction between Alexander and Reckla, as the characteristic of the squad that alway accompany Alexander in his missions. I hope you Enjoy!!!

    Imperial Armada Trading Post

Hello all! I haven't done any builds in a while, so one day when I was looking at some images of lego trading posts, I decided to make my own. I noticed I built stuff for my Bluecoats and Redcoats, but nothing for my Imperial Armada/Spanish. So, I decided to borrow the figures and flag from the Armada Flasghip and build a small trading post! Here we go. The frontal view of the trading post (excuse the slight slant of the pic). It features 5 minifigures, a rowboat with unloading cargo, a dock with an upper and lower part and a dock lamp. Spanish Captain talks to Merchant, other merchant starts to unload his cargo. A Armada soldier guards on top of the Trading Post. Imperial Armada Trading Post by James McGill, on Flickr Top view of the soldier, flag and cargo barrels on the top. Imperial Armada Trading Post 2 by James McGill, on Flickr Top pops off and reveals the interior which features a small table with a cup and two maps. It can fit a minifigure. There is a good look at the lamp and the cargo, and the side of the trading post. Imperial Armada Trading Post side by James McGill, on Flickr Thanks for reading!

PauL: Yes..Dr. Chandra SF, I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do. Beltar: PAUL, WHAT THE H*LL IS HAPPENING? PauL: Dr. Chandra, is deployment in the Seals a good idea for an AI like me? Beltar: Must be his past..hmm…very peculiar… PauL: Well, forgive me for being so inquisitive but during the past few weeks I've wondered whether you might have some second thoughts about the mission…. Well, it's rather difficult to define. Perhaps I'm just projecting my own concern about it. I know I've never completely freed myself from the suspicion that there are some extremely odd things about this mission. I'm sure you agree there's some truth in what I say… You don't mind talking about it, do you Doctor?... Rumors about something being dug up on the ksszzk. I never gave these stories much credence, but particularly in view of some of other things that have happened, I find them difficult to put out of my mind. For instance, the way all our preparations were kept under such tight security. And the melodramatic touch of putting Drs. Hunter, Kimball and Kaminsky aboard already in the field, after four months of training on their own. Beltar: Wait…Wait…PauL do you read me? PauL: This is Agent 13, send Seal Team 8 in, the sewer looks clean. Alright boys, let’s move out. Wait, hold up Pete, Carlos, Mark! LANDMINES! Beltar: Wait…what? PauL: Yes Doctor, I am aware that the loss of Seal Team 8 has troubled me deeply. Perhaps next time I go into the fie- Our company has been bought by the Kawashita Group? Beltar: He lost a whole team…I…I heard about the loss of Seal Team 8 on the news…years ago… PauL: I understand now, Dr. Chandra, thank you for telling me the truth. No Mr. Kawashita, The aPauLo series is the most reliable computer ever made. No aPauLo computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error. I enjoy working with people. I have and had a stimulating relationship with Dr. Chandra and Seal Team 8. My responsibilities can range over the entire operation of the ship so I am constantly occupied. More Pictures in the spoiler! (Because I still take too many…) Hope you liked this build! I decided to use the challenge as a way to get my story moving rather than waiting for next week, besides, this gives you a good look into PauL's past. I was also very tempted to title this "High Heel" as Mike suggested I should have when Tappudansu happened, I also took some suggestions from the comment section, like making the cockpit fit in more, with angles! Anyone notice a similarity between the file from Deception and the Tappudansu Mk. II file? Anyways, as always, C and C welcome! ~Beltar Edit: Ugh, Could a mod please change the title to have a II instead of 11?

    [Challenge 2][Cat A] Osprey G

The Osprey is a small scout ship, but its versatility and track record made it the obvious choice for getting a weaponised upgrade. Called the Osprey G, the energy cannon strapped to the front provides a punch without causing recoil, ideal for such a lightweight craft. Vertical doors are efficient and... okay, they're just cool. In flight, the wings fold out and the landing gear tucks in. The engine with thrust vectoring. Here's a better look at the cannon. I like asymmetry. Dead pleased with this. The door design required a modified tile inversion, which acts as the door stopper on the way up and the way down. So that part worked out better than I could have hoped. This is one you couldn't have made on LDD! C&C always welcome.

    MOC: Bluecoat 24-gun Frigate

Greetings! Finally finished my Bluecoat frigate. Don't have a name yet - that's proving to be difficult to settle on, but I have some ideas. I based her on plans and paintings of French frigates from the mid-18th Century, and the build owes a LOT to the "Build A Frigate" tutorial, as well as quite a few gorgeous ships I've seen posted on this site, so thanks to everyone who posted pictures of your ships! Here is the overview. The ship is about 66cm tall and 87cm long, and is the largest ship I've built. Fully Rigged Ship, Three Masts 20B The figurehead is a little dull. I haven't settled on a name for the ship yet, so the figurehead probably will be changing. 2nd Battalion of Bluecoat Marines. The ship's launch. A Bluecoat infantry officer hitching a ride. The capstan does not work, but I'll probably change that soon. I kinda like the way the masts turned out, but even with reinforcing inside of them, they are way too fragile for the ship to be played with. Since my goal is always playability, I'll probably change the masts soon. I do enjoy making custom flags. Come on, now - I'm not the only ship builder here who likes croissants. It was not easy to get the tumblehome to line up with the part of the cabin that juts out, but I like the way it turned out. I really like the way the outside of the captain's cabin came together. I tried quite a few different looks before I finally found one I liked. And of course you know I'm going to have a binnacle. I love binnacles, but I don't like trying to build them. Deck comes off to expose the captain's cabin. Brunch is served. I wanted to do a tiled pattern for the cabin floor, but did not have enough pieces, so hardwood it is! I kind of like the way it looks. I might also change the ship's wheel. This one is okay, but I can do better. I don't think the ship's cook is as French as he claimed on his résumé. The ship's bell again - it was a little challenge to build it with a clapper, but I like the way it turned out. I haven't made the sails yet. I'm going to wait until I know whether or not I'm going to redesign the top masts, and I'm also going to make all the sails for all my ships at once. Thanks for looking! ~ Plaid Beard

There is a long way to go on fitting the bridge out and I have ideas on what all I want to incorporate on this design so I think it's going to be a long design process. Please feel free to comment.

  25. With the wonderful weather we're having, and the very shiny new boat hull that Lego released, the time has come again to desperately try to keep all the electronics dry. To keep the weight low, I kept the decoration a bit sparse. (Also, massively recycled from Naida's Epic Adventure Ship) For storage and convenience, everything that sticks below the waterline can be removed with the two 3-length pins with bush in the back. More pictures can be found here. If you want to tinker with it, there's an LXF file here. Lego's new boat hull is very stable, and can even handle some small waves. It also provides a neat storage compartment that allows the electronics to be mounted as low as possible to increase stability. Using an Sbrick was very convenient. As I was filming in the full sun, on a very reflective water surface, PF's own infrared signals would be practically useless. Also, it can handle the load of the RC motor a lot better than the regular PF receiver. And if we're thanking third party hardware suppliers; I'm really happy with my waterproof Gopro thingie. It was great fun recording everything down below. By the way, does anyone know what kind of fish I happened to catch on camera?
