  14. I could not find a discussion on this already so here goes: I am a professional freelance LEGO artist. My fondness for the LEGO System developed partly because of the challenge and restraint of the system. When ever something is called LEGO, that is what I relate it to. I sometimes see some pretty renderings of so-called digital LEGO builds on places like Flickr, and they are promoted as LEGO builds via LEGO groups. The problem is that these builds are often rendered with parts in colors that those parts have not been released in, and thus the build might as well have clone parts in it. That's when it does not belong in a group sharing things build with the LEGO System anymore. People doing this, could just as easily call it something else (Brick Art or something) and everything will be totally ok with me, but calling it LEGO is just misleading, frankly cheating. What do you guys think? Here is the latest example using a Slope 45 2 x 1 with 2/3 Cutout in Trans-Black for the windshield. I have nothing against the guy, but calling it LEGO just because LDD was used... Perhaps the problem only really lays with the groups accepting these contributions.
  15. Hi, i come with new creations! Since LEGO released a new BrickHeadz. Some peoples make a Various BrickHeadz creations (you can see in here), so i want to make my own. 16. Monas is a Local Landmark of Jakarta, Indonesia. Inspired by this Yul Burman Karel’s Monas MOC, but I redesigned it. Monas by Kamal Muftie Yafi, on Flickr I actually want to make this model for join this "Local Landmarks contest" in this forum, but the rules state: “All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed.”, Sadly, I don’t have all the part that need to create this model, though all the parts are exist in real life. Well, at least this could be an addition to my (digital) creations.
  17. I've been lurking here for a while but have never been satisfied with any of my MOCs enough to post them here. The nearest I came was an MLRS that worked well but looked rubbish :P Anyway, I'm in the process of designing a Grave Digger monster truck replica (approx 1:15 ish scale). Features: - 4 wheel drive - 4 wheel steering - Steering modes: 2-wheel, 4-wheel, crab - 4-link, very long travel suspension - Suspension travel is also to scale. Almost. - All motors contained in the chassis (no servo-on-axle affairs) - SBrick control - Tyres from a Tamiya Lunchbox I'm designing this in Sketchup and rendering with the Twilight Render (free) plugin. Note that I've drawn all the pieces myself, and they're all drawn to have a low polygon count so that my machine doesn't croak to a halt. Some of the pieces aren't very accurate atm (e.g. the XL motors). So far, I think I've got the chassis designed: And here's a couple of closeups: Issues I can foresee so far: - Friction from so many knob wheels - Bump steer (but I don't want to sacrifice suspension travel by putting the servo on the axle) - Not sure whether having the steering upside down like that will have any negative effects. - Not sure if I can get all of the parts in green that I want Can anyone see any other potential issues with this design (before I start putting in BL orders)? Thanks
  18. Okay, I know this has been brought up before, but I've tried LDraw, Bluerender, Pov-Ray, Blender, and none of them work on my mac. Any advice?
  19. Hello, everyone! A while back I made a model of Anakin Skywalker's Podracer in LDD. It was heavily-based on the 2011 edition of the set. This version that I am presenting you now is an original design of mine, I think it is much more accurate and detailed than my original concept. I rendered the picture in Bluerender. The model has 187 pieces. Please offer any comments, criticisms, or praises! AnakinPodracerV2.lxf

    [MOC] Submersible JAGO 2.0

One year ago I presented a virtual version of submersible JAGO (see here). Now I am able to proudly present a real life brick built version of JAGO. And some new renders (Pov-Ray, based on LDraw) too. For the brick built version I had to manipulate some original parts: Dome 4x4 #86500 and Round Plate 6x6 #11213 are not available in yellow. So I had to re-color these parts by using a color spray can. JAGO is a submersible primarily dedicated to exploration and research in marine sciences. See homepage JAGO. Hope you enjoy it. Regards Papacharly
  21. This is a former project of mine, which I wanted to do irl, but found the design very fragile. It's a cruiser from the video game 'Imperium Galactica'. I used Bluerender to render the LDD file, which is also attached. I hope you like it. imperium_galactica_ship.lxf
  22. Hello all! While 75915 is an excellent set, the helicopter is not quite accurate enough for me. I then set about creating an accurate version in LDD. I used msx80's wonderful program Bluerender to create the image. Movie Accurate JW Helicopter I hope to Bricklink the parts to build this for real someday. It seats three, two in the cockpit and one in the gunner's seat. I hope you enjoyed my simple LDD MOC. Comments and criticism welcome!

    ALCO SQUAD

wassup guys I have build some 'nice' locos on LDD last days that i want to show you! as you can see at the picture the trains are based of the ALCO PA. my favorite diesel locomotive and one of the most iconic in history. Fans deemed the PA one of the most beautiful diesels and an "Honorary Steam Locomotive,Even the late, noted train artist Howard Fogg, a big steam aficionado, once called the PA "a nice looking locomotive". What else needs to be said? ALCO PA SQUAD gonna post it soon on eurobricks! by therizingrize, on Flickr as you can see on the pictures (finally the BB codes are working) i have build 3 locos, Delaware and Hudson, Santa Fe and Union pacific. a few months ago i build an Santa Fe in real bricks but it turned out very bad so i decided that i would build one in LDD to see if I was really my terrible building. but luckily it was the lack of bricks . ALCO SQUAD 2 by therizingrize, on Flickr I didn't make a picture of the Union Pacific but i have a picture of all! ALCO SQUAD 5 by therizingrize, on Flickr Santa Fe ALCO SQUAD 3 by therizingrize, on Flickr Delaware and Hudson and the Album link is also here! https://www.flickr.c...5528@N04/5813CJ One problem is that the bogies are shorter in scale that shortened the model so it's looking higher. When i buy the models I assume i would build my own brick build bogies that are powered by LEGO M motors or some.
  24. I love Calvin & Hobbes comic strips. From time to time I still have lots of fun reading this great literature. One of Calvin’s alter egos is Spaceman Spiff: Spiff is an "interplanetary explorer extraordinaire" who explores the outermost reaches of the universe "by popular request" in a red flying saucer with a bubble canopy. So here comes my digital artwork “Spiff shot first”. Built with SR3D Builder (LDraw), rendered by Pov-Ray. Spiff_shot_first by Papacharly, on Flickr And this is the original Spiff, stranded on an unexplored planet, uses the Death Ray Blaster to defend himself from aliens: Spiff pulls his Death Ray Blaster: Spiff_Blaster by Papacharly, on Flickr Hope you will enjoy it. regards papacharly
