This is an expansion, upgrade and update of the Tiger 4 x 4 x 4 The idea was to improve certain aspects of the 4x4 version: 1. The bewel gears were the weak part of the driveline, so the 6x6 uses additional 12:20 gearing after bewel gears, increasing available torque by 67% 2. Adding a second rear axle additonally helps to spread the load while climbing, increasing available overall torque by another 50%, allowing for a total of 2,5x more torque than 4x4. 3. Using defender wheels, and self-built hubs the pivot point is now a stud closer to the steering wheel and steering angle is increased from 18 to 25-30 degrees, removing the need for rear steering. 4. Center section was widened by 2 studs, allowing both gearboxes to be placed in parallel and the steering servo motor low in the center. Total gear reduction has been increased to 1:5 in high gear and 1:15 in low gear. Gear switching mechanism is now faster and more reliable. 5. Suspension is now pendular with a shock absorber in front and tandem axles with shock absorbes in the back. This allows the suspension to smoothly adjust to the terrain at slow speeds without wasting energy compressing the shock absorbers. At high speeds the shock aborbers smooth out the ride. In the picture below you can see the blue 1x7 beams which swing and allow the front suspension to act like pendular: 6. The model now has working fake engine(s) and steering wheel.I'm thinking of adding a hook arm with a winch in the back, so I can use this model to pull others out during trial truck races 7. Number of motors have been reduced by removing rear wheel steering and having one motor for the gearbox, allowing to add aditional functions as before mentioned hook arm. So...that's all about it for now, I'm only missing defender wheels to finish this monster. Yes it's going to be heavier and slower, but I expect it to be even more capable and reliable.

BuWizz powered race car (capable of reaching 25km/h)
Zerobricks posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
After trying out the BuWizz with a big 4x4 offroader I decided to try the other spectrum - speed. For this purpose I designed a very simple, but robust racing car. The main features: - Rear wheel drive powered by two RC motors - Rather hard independent suspesnion on all wheels including realistic caster angle in front for best directional stability - Use of old x873c01 hubs for lowest possible wobble and friction - 4 point reinforced suspension for highest steering accuracy - 4x Tumbler wheels for highest possible traction and cool factor - 1x BuWizz running in ludicrous mode, providing enough power for the model to reach 25 km/h And this is how it works in practice: So how did the model work out? Well as you can see the racer reached an amazing speed, and survived quite many jumps and crashes. The suspension held up suprisingly well and no drivelinecomponent of the rear wheel drive ever failed, even though the BuWizz powered the motors with enough juice to powerslide the massive tumbler wheels on concrete. All in the model was a blast to drive and seeing it jump over shallow ramps of the garage house was simply breathtaking. I hope the BuWizz becomes a reality, so I can make even faster, more powerfull version of such vehicles such as rally cars and trophy trucks- 13 replies

Hi there guys! I'm glad to introduce you my ford fiesta wrc wich has the following features: - New shock absorbers design - Macpherson suspensions strut - Lockable differential - Personalized vinyls - 2 RC motors - Motors saving differential My goal for this car was only one: DRIFT then i started thinking: "what car is known for drifts?" and the answer was only one THE KEN BLOCK'S CAR !!! So i started building this one trying to replicate those colors...then i wasn't so satisfied so i decided to print my own stickers.... I created a template (wich im gonna share soon) to paint vinyls on new panels and i'd say that im pretty happy now :) Let's talk about performances now: even if it weighs 860g it's still fast....doesn't have an amazing acceleration anymore but it still drifts on smooth surfaces expecially when the wheels lose some grip by collecting dust and it's pretty funny to drive! About the chassis: it's very simple and the weight is well distributed, to cause the most loss of grip to the rear wheels, by placing a battery in the front of the car... As every motor has its own battery and reciver i added a differential inbetween the two motors...you know, sometimes recivers can lose signal and i didn't want to get my motors damaged There's another differential that connects the wheels wich can be locked to cause narrower drifts... The new shock absorbers design (for those who didn't see one of my last posts where i was talking about that) is really simple....and even if i didn't use the spring taken from the lego one the dimensions are the same, so 100% purists can use it as well I hope you like it! stickers aviable here http://p-lego.blogsp...roduce-you.html they're in the A4 format so you just need to print the file above as it is (obviusly download the full res one by clicking to enlarge the picture ^^)
