  2. Hello, Friends! In addition to heavy LEGO minifigure customs that many of you liked, I will show other LEGO custom minifigures from Dark Fantasy theme that I have included in my collection. For example, this custom Lego minifigure of Ragmar, Elder Witch, also known as Mad Princess. The story of Ragmar is closely intertwined with the story of Helena, the Royal Princess, whose kindness and mercy were unlimited. Fate brought her to the old witch – Ragmag. As it often happens – for one to live, the other must die. Such sad story happened to Princess Helena, who came under the influence of evil charms and died while Ragmar continued her way. Ragmar custom minifigure can be twisted from all sides on my YouTube Channel – Here. 3. I have the following minifigure: Obviously, it's Princess Princess Iron Fan. But it's not the same as the one from the two sets in which she is known to be, 80010 Demon Bull King and 80016 Flaming Foundry, where she looks as shown below. Note the different torso prints. Also, and this could just be due to printing tolerances, her dress print is slightly lower in the minifigure above. The mystery minifigure (top) is LEGO, not some bootleg. I got it as a gift from LEGO. How come it has an alternative torso print? Is it from an as-yet unannounced set or with-magazine foil pack?

    [MOC] Secret of the Castle

Hi all! I want to share my classic castle creation "Secret of the Castle". I was inspired by the 35th Anniversary of Black Falcons and Lion Knights / Crusaders (1984 - 2019), and I wanted to celebrate it by creating this MOC. I submitted it to "Lego Ideas" two days ago, so if you like it you can support it there: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/23b323b3-99c8-4427-b89a-0c6a7d3b7cda If enough Historic-themed projects get a large amount of supporters on "Lego Ideas", maybe the Lego Group will realize there is enough interest in those kind of themes and they will finaly release some new historic-themed sets. Story The prince and the princess are in love with each other. Since they come from warring factions, their love must stay secret for now. He came all the way from his castle to see her, bringing her flowers from a forest. But will castle guards notice him? And will he return safely home through the dark forest, where outlaws are preparing an ambush? Design I designed this MOC to be an interesting model as a standalone set, with excellent play value. At the same time, I made sure that it fits nicely with classic Lego Castle sets, by using styles and standards of modular castle design from the 80s. It can be connected to any Castle building from that period (by using Technic pins at the ends of the castle walls). The color palette is limited intentionally so that it reflects the style of the classic Castle sets, because my goal was to give this MOC a strong "retro feel". Minifigures The princess and the prince are new miifigures, and the other minifigures have updated torso designs based on the designs from the 80s. All minifigures have two different faces - a classic "standard grin" face, and a face with modern design. The castle guards, Princess and Prince have double-faced heads (since their hair / helmet / hood covers the back of their heads). Two heads would be provided for the Forestwoman and Forestman (since their caps do not cover the back of their heads). Parts The total number of parts is 925. All parts are current - virtually all can be found in different sets released during 2018 / 2019 (some in a different color than in this set). Therefore, molds for all those parts should be available and so Lego would not have any problems producing them. Only new prints / stickers would be needed. I integrated some of the new elements and utensils in this build (for example, new types of panels and windows, new arches, flames on the torches, sack, pot, new sword, etc), but I chose only those that hopefully don't stand out too much from the "classic style". A new variant of Black Falcon’s shield is included, with whole Falcon in black color on white background.

  6. LOTHAL SYSTEM, LOTHAL. SENTINEL BASE, ONE STANDARD DAY BEFORE THRAWN'S ARRIVAL... Holo transmission between Governor Tarkin and Emperor Palpatine... Emperor Palpatine to Tarkin: Governor, I received a report on a series of attacks by Phoenix Squadron on Sentinel base. Is this true? Tarkin: My Lord, the report states the truth. Palpatine(angrily): I expected better than this. You should have eradicated them by now, instead of being attacked Governor. Tarkin: But my Lord, the attacks were unexpected, and... Palpatine: Spare me the excuses Governor, I see that you are unfit for the task at hand, that is why I am sending Grand Admiral Thrawn to assist you. Tarkin(protesting): But your Lordship, I can handle this task without need Palpatine: Silence Governor! Perhaps I should send Lord Vader instead. Tarkin(afraid): There is no need my Lord, Grand Admiral Thrawn will be enough. Palpatine(pleased): Then so it shall be, Governor. I expect the situation to be resolved soon. Tarkin(very unhappy): Yes my Lord TRANSMISSION END SENTINEL IMPERIAL RESEARCH BASE ON LOTHAL, MISSILE RESEARCH DEPARTMENT, PRESENT TIME.... STAR DESTROYER CHIMAERA, CURRENTLY ORBITING LOTHAL. Assigned by Emperor Palpatine to aid Grand Moff Tarkin in defending the highly important missile base on Lothal, Grand Admiral Thrawn, along with his star destroyer, the Chimaera, have finally arrived in orbit around the planet. Boarding his shuttle, the Grand Admiral is prepared to crush the local resistance, also capturing key members part of Phoenix Squadron. The Lambda shuttle began it's landing procedure as it approached the landing pad. Shortly after landing, Grand Admiral Thrawn emerged from the shuttle, escorted by his usual security detail. Gazing around the airfield, Thrawn spotted troopers rushing to put out flames from the shield generator and the fuel tanks. Tarkin(unpleasantly,to Thrawn): Welcome Grand Admiral, to Sentinel base. We are honored by your presence. Thrawn(to Tarkin): Thank you Governor. Tell me, is there something troubling you? Tarkin(surprised): No, not at all Grand Admiral. Thrawn: We shall get to business then. Tarkin: Yes. Recently, there were a series of rebel attacks on our missile research base. Thrawn(Interrupting): So I heard. Tarkin(angry at being interrupted): Fortunately our defenses were enough to stop them from destroying the launch pad. The Emperor is very displeased. Thrawn: So that's the reason the Emperor assigned me here. Perhaps you can show me a few holo recordings of the attacks. Tarkin(unhappily) : Yes, we captured most of the attacks on the hidden holo cams as well discovering a phoenix insignia burned on a wall. Thrawn: Show me. Leading the Grand Admiral to the missile launch pad, Tarkin showed Thrawn the massive phoenix shaped burn on the wall. Thrawn: Interesting... After leaving the missile pad, Thrawn went to his new office in the research complex. Studying the holo recordings, a smile creeping onto his lips, Thrawn finally understood the motive of the rebels and their true target. Reaching for his comlink, he called Tarkin to his office. Tarkin: Yes Grand Admiral? What is it? Thrawn: Governor, I believe I have discovered the true target of the rebels. Tarkin: Really? What is it? The missile launch pad! That's their target! I will tighten the security there immediately! Thrawn: As I expected. You fell for their ruse. Tarkin: If it isn't the missile, then what is their target? Thrawn: Think Governor. The rebels obviously found the location of the missile. If they wanted to destroy it, the lab would be rubble by now. The attacks were a ruse to make us loosen our security in the laboratory so they can steal the technical readouts of the missile. Tarkin: So do I need to double the security in the lab? Thrawn: No Governor, still, prepare your troops. Tarkin: If I shouldn't tighten the security, why prepare my troops? Thrawn: I assure you Governor, if you listen to me, the rebels will be captured by the end of the day. Tarkin(Questioningly): Okay? So I'll follow your lead then.Thrawn: Good. Bring in some shadow guards as well, Governor. Tarkin : Why? Thrawn: I got a feeling that there will be Jedi present at the attack. RESEARCH LAB, COMPUTER TERMINAL, NEAR THE LAUNCH PAD, EIGHT STANDARD HOURS AFTER THRAWN'S ARRIVAL... HISSSSS... As the cut metal was pushed aside, Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren and several troopers entered the laboratory. Ezra: Now that's easy. Sabine: The imperials don't seem to have even tightened their security. Trooper 1: Lieutenant, we found the technical readouts. Ezra: Extract them. Let's hope our luck holds out. Kanan: Be quick. I sense a trap. As the trooper extracted the technical readouts of the missile, the lights suddenly turned on and two squads of stormtroopers ran in, blasters drawn as well as two Shadow Guards and their Shadow Troopers. Grand Admiral Thrawn and Governor Tarkin soon entered the lab, escorted by Senate Commandos. Ezra: Thrawn! Tarkin: Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren and Kanan Jarrus, you are under arrest! Ezra(angrily): How did you know we are attacking the lab? Thrawn: I noticed that you found the missile launch pad, yet you did not destroy it.Kanan: And how did you know we will be here? Thrawn: I suspect that your padawan learner left the phoenix mark with his lightsaber, to tell us that Phoenix Squadron was behind the attacks.Tarkin: Enough with the chit chat, trooper take them away! Sabine(to Thrawn): No matter how hard you try, Grand Admiral, Phoenix Squadron will always be one step ahead! Thrawn: I don't think so, rebel scum. In time, it will be I who is the victor. He watched the troopers as they led the rebels away. Tarkin: Your reputation certainly precedes you Grand Admiral. Thrawn: I'll take that as a compliment. Tarkin to Thrawn: The Emperor will be pleased. Not only did we resolve this matter, we captured two Jedi for him as well. Thrawn: Yes Governor, he will be. Also, I received a transmission form the Emperor himself. Tarkin(nervous): what did he say? Tell me! Thrawn: You are relieved of your assignment effective immediately. I am in charge of the Lothal system now and the problem of Phoenix Squadron. Tarkin(very mad): WHAAAT! Thrawn(calm): The Emperor requests you to go to imperial center at once as well. Tarkin(fuming): Oh I will! --------END-------- Pics of the mocs Made a sliding door for the big moc, got a bit stuck in the middle. here is a video

    Fairytale MOC

This weekend we displayed a few MOCS as a family at Brickfair Alabama. We started building lego about 18 months ago and this was our third event. Primarily we have exhibited Star Wars Mocs that my young son and I worked on. As my daughter, who is now 6 has got more interested it has led me to build things that she enjoys both playing with and showing at events. So here we have our first effort at a fairytale world, I was inspired by some images that I have seen on here of a Rapunzel tower and Mermaid scene that were great. I knew I wanted a tower that looked like the images of Rapunzels tower online and I also knew that I wanted my ocean to be under the world we built. We custom painted our own Alice and Snow White and Dopey figiures and some of the dwarf's hats which was a fun experience. I hope that you enjoyed, we plan on a very large expansion on this in the months to come. Thanks for looking. 12. For a while now, Unikitty has been scouting out a new place to create Cloud Cuckoo Land anew. To do this she needs transportation, and so she had her friend Joey the snail help her find a new car, which happened to turn out to be Buster the vintage motor car. He doesn't drive very fast, but no-one minds: it's all about the journey to getting from point "A" to point "B" and having fun along the way. As an added bonus, Buster has been around the block a few times and knows all the best roadside attractions and sights to see along highways, back roads and dirt trails of the LEGO World. Plus, Buster has been modified to run on Unikitty's boundless imagination and cheery attitude so no longer do they have to stop for gasoline. Unfortunately, Buster has a very temperamental engine, so Joey volunteers as the Mechanic for their journeys across the LEGO landscape while they search for a new home. Here we see (from left to right) Buster the vintage motor car, Princess Unikitty, and Joey the Snail. Buster was originally in yellow as a version of Doctor Who's car "Bessie". I then added eyes one afternoon last week as a idea of "what if Bessie was living and could talk". I then decided Bessie would go better with Unikitty because she is a bit more whimsical than the Doctor. I also added the snail from the Cloud Cuckoo Land set as Bessie's (now repainted red and renamed Buster) mechanic. By the way: The name "Joey the snail" came from my Sister's old blog where she had a beanie-baby-like frog named Legs as the star of the blog with a guest star Joey the Snail appearing on the home page occasionally... she quit writing the blog about three years ago, and I appropriated Joey and placed the snail from the LEGO Movie set as him once it was revealed to keep it alive, in a way. Anyway, here is the rear view showcasing the seats for Unikitty (front) and Joey (rear) . You can also see the spare tire from here. Here is the LDD file, if anyone wants it: http://www.mocpages....1447963356m.lxf EDIT: This moc should be built after the doctor who set comes out, around the first week of December.

    Frozen: Anna and Elsa

This is half a new post. You may discover that I have finished Anna more than a month ago and have she posted then. Now, here comes Elsa and my set finishes as a duo. My work is not perfect but I have put great effort. There are many technical difficulties. Their braids are one thing, and thus special care is given to Anna's cloak. For Elsa, her dress is difficult. Basically there are three layers -- white/medium azure, trans-light blue, trans-clear. Another point which worths mentioning is that they are very costly. Rare colours used for Anna; and about 3000 parts for Elsa (more than 1500 of which are the trans-medium blue/ trans-clear plates)

    Frozen...

This can't be regarded as a finished MOC. You know it should be half done at most and you may know why. The build takes quite a lot of time actually and I have to encounter a number of technical problems while building it. Stay tuned for Elsa... and more photos...
  16. Lego 41062 Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle Lego managed to get a Frozen licensed set in the new wave of Disney Princess sets. However, I'm VERY surprised by the size. It's a $40 set and comes in a small Friends-style box (roughly 12"x12" size) - I almost didn't see it on the shelf when I was looking for it because it's so small. I mean, I know it's only $40 but it's a friggin' CASTLE. And why did Lego only make this a smaller set? If they'd made a $200 Frozen castle they still would have sold every one they could produce. They made big Harry Potter Hogwarts sets and those sure sold. And have you SEEN the toys in the Frozen section of stores? HUGE playsets for Barbie-sized dolls. But I suppose I'm getting the cart before the horse here, reviewing before I've even opened the box. So..... Name: Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle Set Number: 41062 Pieces: 292 Price: $39.99 Minifigs: 3 Theme: Disney Princess Year of Release: 2015 Links: Bricklink Peeron Brickset The Box The front of the box is standard Lego fare, other than the large Anna and Elsa in the bottom right corner. Oh, and surprisingly, nowhere on the box is the normal minifig lineup. The only way to know what characters are included is to look at the set pictures. The 1:1 This set uses one of the minidolls as the actual size sample. That's probably not a bad choice since the minidolls are not nearly as well known as a minifig. The Back On the back, the play features are shown in insets around a rear view of the castle. Like Friends sets, you also have an array of play accessories. The Seals Is this standard on 2015 sets or is this specific to this set? I've never seen 3 tape seals on a set. Even huge modulars or Technic sets only have 2, so 3 on a set this small seems excessive. Perhaps Lego expects people to try to steal the dolls? If so, why bother with extra tape? A tiny pocketknife makes quick work of the tape so the third strip doesn't even slow you down. The Contents In the box are 2 instruction booklets (bent), a white plate, a sticker sheet, and 3 numbered bags of parts. The Stickers These are very hard to photograph since they're shiny. I mean polished chrome shiny. Those dark lines across the corners are not really there, they're reflections of my ceiling. The Manual Backs The back of one booklet has a Friends "Win!" girl. The other has an ad for the Lego Disney Princess website. That site is SO girly there's even sparkles following your mouse cursor around. So I didn't stay too long or look too deeply. The Sample Page The interior pages of the manuals are on lavender backgrounds. It's standard Lego instructions with part callouts and insets when needed. The Build, 1 The first thing you build is Anna, but I'm not showing that yet. Then you build this little picnic scene. It's tiny but effective, and nice to have something not icy in the set since the movie has the "In Summer" song for Olaf. I'm curious what's in that sandwich though - green and pink? After the picnic is the Olaf build, but I'll save him for later too. The Build, 2 Next is this small sleigh. It has an amazing amount of style for something so small. The curved front and decorative whips on the back make it look sleigh-like instead of blocky. But come on, it already had pink accents, are the pink flowers really necessary? Technically, yes, so the whips can mount to them, but still, it's just over-girly for my taste. The Build, 3 The sleigh needs a ramp to help it rocket along (for a couple inches, at least). The ramp starts like this, with a hidden lime green jumper plate that gets a cookie on it. I couldn't remember anything in the movie like that, so I asked my wife and she couldn't either. A hidden cookie under a hill? The Build, 4 After putting the tilting 2x8 onto the base and adding decorations, this is the result. A lime green bucket holding a pair of ice skates, a flower (in the snow, really?), green and white round studs that I assume are supposed to be grass and snow? The Build, 5 The sleigh looks huge sitting on top of the tiny hill, but it actually works pretty well. Assuming you're on a smooth surface like a table, you can give the sleigh a little nudge and it'll shoot down the ramp and a few inches across the table. The unevenness of the slopes vs the blue tiles holds the sleigh in line well, and the bumps in the slopes don't seem to hamper anything. The Build, 6 Moving on to bag 2.... man that's a lot of colors in this base already. And I'm already starting to feel like there's trans-blue cheese thrown around randomly. The Build, 7 Continuing (and rotating), some steps and even more colors thrown in. Magenta? In Elsa's ice palace? I sure don't remember any of that... The Build, 8 Wait, seriously? An ice cream stand in the castle? That is what the magenta is for? I kinda actually like the looks of it, but it doesn't fit the set. The Build, 9 Spinning back around, now there's a light aqua spiral staircase added along with a roof. This is where I'm really starting to wonder about Lego's thinking. Those light aqua stairs, and the light aqua 1x4 tiles, are exclusive to this set (as far as I know... it's possible some other 2015 sets use them, but nothing in Bricklink yet). Seems expensive (to produce) to me, when there's no huge reason to need them. Another blue for the tiles would have been fine. And the spiral stairs? Really? Elsa's castle is KNOWN for staircases, but NOT spiral ones! There should be a huge straight ice stairway out front or sweeping curved stairs inside, but not a spiral. The Build, 10 And now we finish the tree. Again, why? Where is there a tree next to Elsa's castle? And so weird... with ice hanging from green branches that have both snow and flowers on them. Huh? Did Lego watch a different movie? The Trans-Light Blue Bits Before looking at the upper level, a brief pause to look at some other parts. Here's the 1x2x5 brick in trans-light blue and the 2x4x6 rock panel in glitter trans-light blue. Do those look like the same blue to you? And again, ANOTHER unique part for this set. Why do those rock panels need to be glitter, when Lego made the same panel in trans light blue in 2013 and 2014 for SuperHeroes, Friends, and Chima sets? Apparently Disney REALLY wanted glitter, because there are a bunch of trans-glitter parts in the new Princess sets. There's trans-neon green cones for Jasmine; Ariel, Jasmine, and Sleeping Beauty all get glitter trans purple cones. So there's a bunch of new glitter parts for 2015. The Build, 11 Back to building - time to add the upper level. We get a bedroom with a decent bed, although stickered. The Build, 12 The other side of the bedroom has some little accessories. Perfume and a crown I assume? The Build, 13 Time for walls and a roof. I like the small white macaroni bricks for a wall, but what's with the lavender fence piece in the center? I'll grant that it looks nice (a common white fence would have been a little boring), but it's ANOTHER unique piece to this set. The Build, 14 The very top of the castle is built separately. Not a whole lot to say here other than why is there a torch in an ICE CASTLE? The Finished Castle Once the roof is put on, the castle is done. And that big purple star on top says everything to me about the styling. It just doesn't look like modern Lego to me; it looks like this should be an old Belville fairy tale set from around 1999. If I saw a photo of just the castle with no figs (or picnic blanket), I'd assume that's what it was. The Oops, Not Actually Done Yet Accessories At the end, there's a few bits left to add. There are these dark purple skis (yup, another unique part) in the lower level. Let me tell you, they're a pain to get into that location, at least with my big man hands. More Accessories The top level gets a stickered book. The sticker has a nice castle image on it that is, while not quite exactly the castle from Disney World, VERY Disney-looking. I actually had to google and see if that's the castle they use in their logo. Nope, but it's the same style. The Leftovers There are a LOT of extra parts in this. That's almost 10% of the part count in the set right there! They are pretty useful overall though. It's great to have an extra "carrot" and brown "branch" for Olaf, since you know those will get lost as he's played with. The Figs Finally, the reason for the set. Let's face it, the castle set is just an excuse to make these figures. And they're GREAT. I mean just fantastic. The print on them is just such a good match to the real characters. Compare to the cartoon version from the front of the box. Elsa's hair is a little darker than the cartoon, but overall these are just dead on. If I had to pick out a flaw, it's the "spell" Elsa is holding. It's too bad she can only shoot it forward with her arm down like that. It'd be nice to have the end of the splash part bent 90 degrees so she can have her arm forward and the spell shooting forward too. Oh, one other thing. The minidoll heads don't press down tight to the body like minifig heads do. There's still exposed neck. It looks nice, but it means Elsa's cape can swing around. The Fig Backs Elsa's cape is glittery on the back and you can see the removable bow in her hair. The Full Set One final issue. When you put Anna on the sleigh, her cape doesn't have enough flexibility (since it's a wraparound kind) and so it folds out funny. That's why on the back of the box it shows her standing on the back of the sleigh with Elsa in the seat. Edit: How on earth did I forget to comment on those orange flowers to each side of the castle? I'm pretty sure Elsa did NOT have any flowers blooming outside her castle! The Conclusion Hm. I really wanted to like this set, but I just can't quite bring myself to. It feels like Lego pulled a random castle design from the files then redid it into white and trans blue to look icy and allow a Frozen tie in set. The figs are great, but the castle isn't. I guess the real castle in the movie would be a boring set and this one has play features, but it just is too different for my taste. The Ratings Value: 7/10 - $40 for less than 300 parts is high (especially when so many of the parts are tiny, but on the other hand there's a LOT of rock panels and 1x2x5 trans blue panels), but the figs help save it. Design: 4/10 - Not one of Lego's best. Not as bad as the lows in the 90s, but not a great set. Minifigs: 10/10 - Possibly even a 12/10. They ARE the reason to buy the set . Playability: 8/10 - There are a bunch of play features, but they actually detract from the design, so I had to knock off a couple points. Parts: 7/10 - A bunch of impractical unique parts (how often do you need dark purple skis or a lavender fence piece?) but also a bunch of nice parts if you wanted to make your own icy scene. Overall: 7/10 - A great bunch of figs, but I'd recommend not bothering with the manuals. Just use the parts to build your own castle that's better.

    Lego Bigfig Wishlist.

Hey everybody. I was looking around some forums lately and noticed some custom bigfigs. This got me thinking, why isn't there a topic for a Bigfig Wishlist? So without further ado, here is my list! Super heroes: Marvel: Thing, Rhino, Red hulk, Juggernaut, Colosus, Sandman, Ends of the earth doc ock, Venom, Lizard... I could go on for hours! Dc: Clayface. The Simpsons: Blob Homer. Ninjag0: Overlord Garmadon . Mods: I posted this here because most bigfigs will be liscenced, so I thought this is the best place. Please move it if you feel otherwise.
