[SPC] Cat A The Spaceblite Gang

The story behind them is that they are the ancestors of the Seablite gang,(from the book dark life) which is where they get the name the "Spaceblite gang." The Wanted Poster The whole crew. Spidersha a hired assasin who will do anything for the right money and bones the Captain of the operation known for getting the job done. Here we have doc the tech expert and two of his robots. One a flying battle drone and the other a spy drone much like the Star Wars mouse droids. Also with him is the weapons expert who prefers to remain anonymous. Here we have the captains daughter wearing a chest piece from an elven queen. Along with their cydog who has laser eyes and can hide almost anywhere. Just a comedic interlude!! Let me know what you think and if you have any tips thanks!

    Pirate Ship Lucretia

    172C A pirate ship! This one is 100% lego (no costum sails and/or rigging) And it is probably the last ship I'll have built using prefab hull pieces. I used blue baseplates for presentation with blue transp. pieces on them... I need a lot more . I was at LegoWorld Copenhagen in Februari where I worked together with Morthen Poulsen to create a large pirate layout, he had around 50 000 transp. bits for covering the baseplates, it looked great. I have pictures but they're not of the best quality . But if that doesn't bother you, by any means, check them out: LW Copenhagen Pirate Layout! If you were wondering which ships are mine/his, check out the flags, he has them flying the wrong way. Morthen has more and better pictures but he didn't have time so far to upload them... Sadly there's no interior in this one, Due to time pressure (it had to be ready for Lego World) I had priorities. I could still do it later though. I have no clue about this ship's type. It's kind of unusual for a (partial) double decker to have only two masts. An oversized Ketch perhaps? I hope you like it, A decent one to end my era of prefab hulls I'd say . More pictures can be found in my brickshelf gallery. As for future projects; I'm expecting to have my hands full with the guilds of the brickseas (but that's a working title really ). And I may once again give this old lady another try;

  5. The Serpent’s Crawl. (Challenge IV Prelude, Chapter 4) Previous Prelude chapters: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 The Serpent’s Crawl. Fred’Ae Farsin was praying that this strong wind kept its force throughout the rest of the afternoon, he had not sailed this quickly between Berigora and Ras-el-akhen since the time he was caught with a typhoon to his back. With the time he was making, he almost sailed north to check out the wares at Mpya Stedor, but he did not know what effect the Great Disturbance had had on that city, and decided to stay his present course. It was odd, a minor tsunami had hit the region known as Peregrenis, but the bay that Berigora is settled in received minimal damage. However, reports had already flooded in from the mainland stating that not only was the Tsunami much greater there, but volcanic eruptions and an earthquake that lasted for hours had decimated much of the Kaliphlin landscape. Well, that was unfortunate, but good ol’ Fred knew profit where profit could be had, and natural disaster screamed gold duccats. He had loaded up his PGTC vessel, the Walrus, with foodstuffs, and decided to sail right for the middle of Kaliphlin in the hope to unload quickly before others took up the task too. This wind was a true blessing. It was getting to be late afternoon when one of his sailors screamed “Land Ho!” This was strange, as Fred had cut out wide from the mainland, hoping to just skim the Void Tide – The no man’s land of the Southern Ocean – and still take advantage of the off coast winds. This meant that he should be out of sight of land. Perhaps his Crossstaff was broken? He ran to the helm and gasped. crawl by skaforhire, on Flickr Across the water in front of him from north to south, as far as his eyes could see, lay a large piece of land. The rock formation seemed covered with fresh grass, as if it had been there years, and the formation twisted and turned, but remained north and south oriented. It reminded Fred of a large snake made of rocks, cliffs, and sea caves. As he sailed closer he noticed a wrecked ship among the rocks. The poor saps in that crew must have approached this area at night and missed this new formation altogether. Although he was unsure of it, he knew that this formation had something to do with the Great Disturbance. If he had to make a wager, he would say that all of this had to do with some sort of ancient magic. His thoughts turned to his current predicament. DSC_3867 by skaforhire, on Flickr He sailed closer to cliffs to investigate the wreck. There were no survivors. It was at this point that he saw what seemed to be the last light of day shining from within the sea caves. There must be a way through!!! Fred’Ae Farsin swallowed hard and gave the order to sail for the largest cave. If he found a navigable way through the caves, he would be a very rich captain indeed. DSC_3872 by skaforhire, on Flickr And so it was that Fred’Ae Farsin was the first man to navigate the Serpent’s Crawl, the new land bridge that must have been created by the Great Disturbance. Not only had the University of Petraea credited him as the first navigator of the sea caves, but he also has been credited with naming the new formation. Of course, Ol’ Fred soon quit his job and became a pirate in that same sea cave. That is truly a way to make money in this dire time. ------------------- On a OOC note... I had to put together a build to introduce the next story portion. I am not the best Micro builder, if anyone else wants to do a take on this story, I will gladly add your builds too! Oh yeah! [MOC] British Royal Navy Gunboat

171D Hello all! I said in my last small MOC, I'd probably do another MOC, so I decided to make a ship this time, a Gunboat. It took me almost 4 hours (mostly finding and digging out parts), i'd say remove all the finding time, it took me about 20 minutes to construct, maybe 25 minutes (I did a few designs, and picked the one I liked most). Now, the gunboat itself has 1 small mast, 1 small rotating cannon at the beginning, and 2 swivel guns. The ship can fit about 4-6 minifigures, however I didn't want to take up the whole ship with minifigures, so I manned it with 3 minifigures in the 3 main posts. I myself am pretty proud of my build, I mean, I just built it with limited parts, and the way I thought a gunship should look like. I originally constructed a small grey cannon to go at the front, but it was a little bit too big, so I added a smaller rotating cannon that looks a lot like a swivel gun Alright, let's get started. Gun1 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Side view of the ship. Quite small, but it is a Gunboat Gun2 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr The bow of the ship. A redcoat manning the frontal cannon, and a Royal Navy gunner manning one of the two swivels. As you can see, I've given those new ugly blasters a use! They make great swivels, firing ones, too. Gun3 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Gun4 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Overview of the ship. You can see a bit of the crows nest. Gun5 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Other side of the ship. It does appear that there is a bit of dirt of that piece. Cleaning time Gun6 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr A simple, small stern to the gunboat. Gun7 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr You can really see everything that's going on in the ship in this pic. Gun8 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr At the wheel of the ship, a British Midshipman pilots the small ship. Gun9 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Lastly a view of the whole ship and the crows nest. Let it sail to bring glory to the Redcoats, and justice to the seas. Hope you've enjoyed! Please tell me what you think of my Gunboat! Have a nice day.

    [MOC] Supply Lines

Hello all. Some of you may have seen me around Eurobricks either here or in the Star Wars forums. I started out in Pirates, and I've been really meaning to get some type of MOC out there for some time, because although most of my attention is on Star Wars work and projects right now, I thought I'd just do something small. Please comment and criticize, it shows me if it's good or not, and how to improve for next time . Now, as I said before, this is just a small project. I hope you guys like it. MOC1 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Here's a frontal view of the small MOC. Redcoats unloading supplies for the small colony town. MOC2 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr A view of the side of the dock and showing a bit more of the MOC. MOC 3 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr MOC4 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Looks like the Redcoats will be bringing a prisoner with them. MOC 5 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr A look at the townspeople running for their food and supplies. A Royal Navy Midshipman directs the troops where to drop off the supplies. MOC 6 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Lastly a look at the small cannon post. Even small towns need protection from those Bluecoats and Pirates. Hope you liked it. Please tell me what you think of it, it's not some crazy big MOC that will blow your minds, but I think it's sort of nice.
  10. Hello! Due to unfortunate circumstances, I am having to sell my entire Lego collection. I ship to the United States. All shipping will go out with USPS priority and should arrive in 2-3 days. I have right around 50 lego sets that I will be selling, including various minifigures and pieces. I have many older and rarer pieces as well. These lego sets come from a pet-free, smoke-free home of an AFOL and are in great condition. The sets are all listed on eBay and starting at $0.99 each! Here is the link to my eBay seller profile: http://www.ebay.com/usr/kiefhurst Thank you! Also, I have feedback on eBay and have done 13 trades on Eurobricks and am part of the straight shooters list!
  11. If you were a pirate stranded on a tiny island with a large, scary shark circling around, and could only have 3 objects with you, what would they be? There are only two correct answers to this question. You would either want a bottle of rum, another bottle of rum, and yet another bottle of rum... or you would want a gun, a bigger gun, and an even bigger gun. (Any combination of these two scenarios will only lead to dangerous pirate behavior and the risk of self-inflicted harm.) Lego set number 1492, "Battle Cove" gives us that three-gun island. Our lonely pirate may be down, but he is most certainly not out - not without a fight, anyway. Number: 1492 Name: Battle Cove Year: 1992 Pieces: 26 Minifigs: 1 Sharks: 1 Price: Unknown Availability: USA Only Informative Links: Brickset Set Entry Bricklink Catalog Entry Peeron Catalog Entry Lugnet Catalog Entry Brickipedia Entry Brickpicker Page Today I am reviewing Lego System polybag set 1492 "Battle Cove". Unfortunately, I do not have the original packaging, but I do have a complete copy otherwise. This is a set I received as a child. As such, I must cite the informative links I have placed above as historical records of this set. Apparently, this set was sold only in the USA, and according to some inventories, this set may have only been sold at certain stores or was perhaps part of some kind of promotion aimed at consumers. At any rate, it would seem that this is one of the rarer sets in the pirate theme. The Unboxing Unbagging A fresh copy of 1492 (image courtesy of BrickLink) Imagine receiving the polybag shown above. What would you do? Why, rip it right open and dump out the contents, of course! Instructions (front) The front of the instructions shows the same image as the bag packaging depicts. We see the entire set, complete with minfig and shark against a nice background and surface. As a hobbyist photographer, I really appreciate these old box/instructions photos. The good people at Lego put a refreshing emphasis on their product art. This set being from 1992, Lego has not yet turned to computer rendered artwork, and someone has put together a nice backdrop and foreground to show off this set. Bravo. Instructions (back / random segment) This image of the instructions back side is for completion. The type of instructions with this polybag set is more of a folded leaflet that has two sides' worth of instruction panels. So the "back side" in this case is really just one of the instruction panes (the first one showing how to put a shark together... and a pirate.) Set contents (sans instructions) Here we have all the pieces in this set laid out. According to set inventories, there are 26 pieces. However, I count 27! I believe the online inventories are counting the shark body and head as one piece, however the instructions show how to connect the head to the body, suggesting that the shark probably came unassembled. But enough of the geeky piece count nitpicking. Instead, let's nitpick the parts we have here! We have a decent assortment of colors here. We have 4 printed pieces. We also have 3 guns (one being a cannon, actually). (There is no rum, however. Rum bottles would not be included in pirate sets until the Pirates of the Caribbean line.) A palm frond is always a welcome addition to any collection. A smattering of light gray elements and two 6 x 6 yellow plates finish up this set's parts. These are nice to have. Printed corner wall element One piece that sticks out in particular is the printed corner wall element. According to online inventories, this element is only in 7 sets produced between 1988 and 1995. And of those 7 sets, this set is the smallest (the other six are all above 160 pieces and mostly castle-themed sets). That might make this set a viable way to acquire this piece, if not for the fact that this set was a USA exclusive. United States issue non-firing Lego cannon One interesting aspect of Lego sets released in the USA is that the cannons do not fire. I had no idea this was abnormal from the rest of the world until I was out of my dark ages. I'm not an expert on this minutae, but I've heard it explained that it was a safety concern. I believe that some copies of pirate sets in 1989 sold in the USA _did_ in fact have the pull-firing cannons at first, until the design was tweaked to have the non-firing type. The interesting thing is that the newer line of pirate sets from 2009 had firing cannons, including copies sold in the USA. The dark gray shark Here we have the set's dark gray shark. Let's be honest here: the shark is the crowning jewel of this set. I think we can all agree on that. (Be sure to cast your vote in the poll at the top of this thread!) The Minifigure The pirate (front, back) It seems that this minfig torso always accompanies this particular head, and it appears in 5 different minifigure permutations across 21 sets (all of them "classic" 80s/90s pirate sets). But in each canonical minifigure, the pants are either white, gray, or black, and the fig also always sports a tricorner hat (albeit black or brown). If not for having black pants instead of light gray, we might have been able to classify this pirate as Rummy, the first mate of the Renegade Runner. (For more pirate naming fun, see this thread). Could this pirate in fact be Rummy with different pants? I'm undecided; share your opinion on this matter by replying to this thread! Regardless, we have here a minfig whose head and torso printing are some of the more detailed in the line. I personally think the face print is one of my all-time favorites. You have an eye patch, scruffy hair, stubble, and a pleasing smile. This is part of what makes classic pirates so memorable. Everyone is happy in classic Legoland, and why not? The torso on this pirate is also one of the more detailed in the line, with a jacket exposing an undershirt and a thick, piratey belt. It's also worth noting that this torso can perhaps be put to good use as a bluecoat officer or perhaps some kind of privateer. Let's get building. The Build With so few parts in this polybag set, the build is relatively straightforward. The instructions are nice and simple, without any of the modern-day part callouts. Build foundation After a step or two, we have the beginnings of a wall and our cannon placed down. And after just a few more steps, we have our completed structure. (That was quick!) Island and structure (front) From the front, we have a bit of a fortification wall, our proud Jolly Roger pirate flag flying, and a palm frond to protect our heroic pirate from harmful UVA and UVB rays during his stay. Island and structure (rear) From the rear, we can see that the pirate has a place to hang his rifle. We also note that there are hiding places for pirate loot and cannon balls. It's a shame there aren't any in this set. How is our pirate to make use of the cannon without any ammunition? The complete build Here we have the set all together, including the pirate and the shark. Despite its size, it is an aesthetically pleasing set! For sets of this size, our imagination is really what drives the story here. Who is this pirate? And what of the island itself? Is it an abandoned fort, perhaps? There's enough playablity here to have a fair bit of fun on its own. With a chomping shark, a yawing cannon, and an armed pirate, we have all the trappings of a good pirate adventure. Still, there is room for improvement. A lack of a cannonball or two is a definite oversight, even if the cannon does not actually fire. And the addition of a monkey or some gold would really have made this set fantastic. It's a good "parts pack" at the very least, and a good addition to any pirate collection. There's enough to have a bit of fun with. If price data were available, I believe we would find a respectable price-to-parts ratio. It is also very easy to take elements from this set and add to other pirate sets. The minfigure and shark are easily added to a larger ship, as are the cannon, firearms, and flag. At the end of the day, this is a solid polybag set that captures the freespirited nature of classic pirate sets. I give this set two rusty hooks straight up! Scoring Playability: 6/10 (Minifig and shark fun, but your imagination will do some heavy lifting here.) Design: 7/10 (A reasonably attractive structure given the part count. But an extra palm frond or a monkey would be nice.) Parts: 9/10 (Some useful, detailed parts here. Multiple printed pieces. Good for crew building and armaments.) Minfigs: 7/10 (Relatively common minifig parts. But a classic and one of the more complex face and torso printings in the line.) Sharks: 9/10 (You can't go wrong with a dark gray shark. Point off for lack of additional sharks.) Price: N/A (Pricing is lost to the sands of time. Likely comparable to other polybags of its time.) Availability: 2/10 (Only available in USA! May have been an "exclusive" set only at a certain store.) Final Score: 7/10 (A solid pirate polybag. A good mix of parts, and a welcome addition to any pirate universe.) Uh oh. Looks like our hero is in trouble!... Whew! That was close! Our hero lives to fight another day.

    [MOC] Saturday Afternoon Pirate Beach

Coming out of an experiment of how to create a decent beach design, the beach suddenly found itself crowded - somehow looking interesting. So, here it is, for all you other island builders: The "Saturday Afternoon Pirate Beach": It's not the best day for Emmet: .. but luckily it was just a joke: :pir-grin: Other beings enjoy the beach and the fruit it brings: ... but LOTR-guys definitely have a hard time on PIRATE BEACH: Enjoy, and have a nice weekend, and I would be happy to read your comments. [MOC] Monkeys and Pirate(s) (MOC, OPMOCs, etc)

Ahoy, I wanted to get back to my beloved monkey-topic. For starters, this is my MOC "Monkey and Pirate" I hope this monkey statue is not too terrifying... Then I have been gathering some information on the field which I would like to share with you, because some guys have done extraordinary work in the field of "Monkeys and Pirates". I have included links when "Other People's MOCs" (OPMOCs) have been referred to (not posting them). [i hope that this is not violating the forum's etiquette.] On Monkey-Driven-Design & Pirates Ever since "6270 Forbidden Island" came out in 1989 monkeys have been a part of the Lego Pirates Theme (even more prominently in "6235 Buried Treasure" also in 1989). http://www.1000stein...ages/6235-1.jpg They have fought for treasure, sailed the seven seas and wreaked havoc wherever possible in search of gold and bananas. This inspired me to my approach of "monkey-driven design" (not to be confused with model-driven design) and I have tried to include monkeys in one way or another in all of my models. But luckily, I am not alone in this. So I would like to take the opportunity to take a look around at who is building dioramas with monkeys in them. One thing that caught my eye sometime back was this creation by Rod Gilles called "In The Temple of the Monkey God": https://www.flickr.c...57629385196613/ It's a bit sinister but excellent nevertheless. (Rod is doing fantastic steam-punk things, really awesome) This was my inspiration for my "The Temple of the Monkey God" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=86802 Just recently "TAKKATA" has presented a series of MOCs in this very forum, which had monkeys in them and which were fantastic. Unfortunately I have not seen more of TAKKATA. "Monkey Run - Skara Kikos" by TAKKATA http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98846 "Temple Boom" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98449 "The Falls of Skara Kikos" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97814 (Maybe I got the sequence wrong) This film was also a perfect example of monkey-pirate interaction: Escape from Sabre Island - A Brickfilm by dastolidigital http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93968 MESTARI's MOC also has its fair share of monkey inclusion: "[MOC] Small soldiers' outpost" by MESTARI http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=94519 with a very classic feel to it. "[MOC] Sabre Island" by vitreolum http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98100 has a small monkey on a raft (terrific MOC). "PTC - Yatkuu/6Kyubi6 - The Shark Reef" by YATKUU http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93211 Shark Reef was built carefully and cleverly and did not forget its monkey. "Monkey Madness PTV-small" by LEGOKING http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=23407 featuring a monkey in a leading role. "[M.O.C.] Monkey Island Minifigures" by LEGO_LEGIS_LEGERE http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=73556 monkey is a "must" in here. "A Pirate Knitting" by PIXELDUDE http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=33956 is so funny. "Pirate Animal Costumes" by FALLENTOMATO http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=24727 is a fair attempts at a custom made monkey custume. "PTC - Captain Nemo/MstrOfPppts" by MSTROFPPPTS http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93209 features a monkey armed with a pistol. But "Monkey Battle of Passage Fort" by COMMODORE HORNBRICKER http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=29751 features a horde of fiercly fighting primates. A lot of action in here. "Battle for the Fountain of Youth" - by SIMON_S http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98276 has a small monkey in a tree. This was what I have found to far. Forgive me, the monkey-included MOC-list might not be complete. Coming back to my contributions, I have created "The Flying Monkey" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84523 "MOC: Palace Jaune Banane" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=92916 and recently: "MOC: HMS Royal Monkey" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99608 and I hope to continue in that way. My wish for the future is to see some more "Monkey & Pirate" creations here - so, brick on! - edit April 11th 2015 - I found Walter's great contribution, so I need to link it here. Mini MOC - Shipwrecked v2

You were once a soldier sailing on the flagship, but ever since you met that Anonymous Crew in combat, you are now stranded on a tiny island... Backside This is my First MOC.
  16. I've recently come out of my dark ages and back into collecting my favorite childhood toy, Legos. My favorites as a child were always castle, pirate, and city. Now as I get older I find my interest is primarily in castle and pirate and creating large scenes and landscapes related to those. Anyway that's my short into, now to the good stuff in this post, my review of the lego store in Troy, MI (I live in Grand Rapids, MI so Troy is the closest one). Went today (9/6). I will rate the store 1-10 on 3 categories: staff, pick a brick wall, build a mini fig kiosk. Staff: 9 - pleasant, helpful, one even went in back to see if they had any mini fig weapons as the kiosk was out. Patient and nice despite being busy on a Saturday. Pick a brick wall: 7.5 - nice selection of bricks if you are interested in building landscapes or a fort or castle, light blue grey, dark blue grey, light tan, red brown, green bricks and plates. I bought up all the 1x1x4 light blue grey bricks (wish they had more). Would have liked to see more tiles selections. Mini fig kiosk: 2 - terrible selection, almost all figs were construction workers or women, I bought all the pirate soldier torsos I could which was 5. No muskets, bought 1 cutlas, no additional hats, epaulettes, backpacks, or medieval weapons or armor or helmets. A few kingdoms lion knights torsos but no matching legs. In comparison to the mini fig kiosk in northbrook mall (n chicago) this paled in comparison. I will post a review of northbrook soon. Overall I give the Troy location a 6.33. This could be improved however if they improve the mini fig kiosk. I will email lego my to make them aware of this.

  20. Hey guys, I completed the printing of my next custom minifig, and this is one several of you on this board have been waiting for the past few years. My first Assassins Creed-inspired custom minifig, Pirate Assassin! Let me know what you think in the comments below, and be sure to check him out at my website (link is in my signature below) Here's the info on him: Pirate Assassin Front Side Back Side Second Face Printing Description: Based on the popular game character, this fig features high quality 360 degree digital printing, custom made BrickWarriors accessories (a white Rogue Hood and Hidden Blades) - EXCLUSIVE TO THIS FIG, along with a BrickArms flintlock pistol and a Lego gold handled cutlass sword. I'd like to give a BIG thank you to Ryan at BrickWarriors for his professionalism, his ability to collaborate so well, and for helping me bring my vision for this figure to reality. Without him, these Assassin figs would not have happened, so I want to thank him so much for his work on these amazing accessories! This is hopefully the first of many "Assassins" to come. Please let me know what you think! Let your thoughts, feedback, comments, and criticisms below, as I'd love to hear from you guys on this. Thanks!!

    Lush Island Stash

[pid][/pid] 255B I made this pirate diorama for a Lego contest my local museum was hosting. I've really wanted to get back into pirate mocs because they're always so much fun to build and they're what brought me to the online lego community. There's not much to say about this other than I built it in about a week, and my favorite part is definitely the rock work. As always I'm trying to improve that. As you can see as well, I included my Sig-fig in there, see if you can spot him (if you can't you might need glasses, it's pretty easy to find). Lastly, I will be going to Brickworld Chicago on Saturday June 14, so I look forward to hopefully seeing lots of you guys there. Unfortunately I won't be displaying this year... but I'm really hoping for next year, and I'll still be there checking out all the cools creations. For more pictures check out my post on mocpages. [MOC] Santa Catalina's Fortress

[pid][/pid] 251B Hello again ! I had not wrote a new thread here since months ... The blame for this has been what I brought in hand from about makes about 6 - 8 months... I present to you this diorama seen at LEGO Catbrick Event in Barcelona. The Fortress of Santa Catalina, located in Puerto Rico, in the heart of the Caribbean. Erected in the sixteenth century, was the first fortification built to defend the city of San Juan and the first in a series of military forts. Construction was authorized by King Carlos I of Spain as a protection against the attacks of indians, corsairs and pirates. Eastern tower section. Jungle and river. Pirate prisioner on courtyard. For its construction I used about 35,000 pieces. In theory it is not right either a MOC, I should label it as a WIP, because the original project is a quarter of a much larger diorama than this. This portion, is 6 x 4 baseplates and the final project will occupy 12 x 8 baseplates. Gradually I will try to finish it. I 'm uploading to flickr the rest of the gallery, so I recommend that you see there the rest of photos and see the details. (If you click on image you will be redirected to flickr) I wish you enjoy it! A greeting! EDIT: I add more photos!

    14 Gun Brig: Pinnacle

[pid][/pid] 160D After one and a half years of effort I would like to present the 14 gun brig-of-war, Pinnacle. Pinnacle is made up of about 3200 LEGO bits. I've used yards and yards of five different types of string to simulate the vast array of rigging you would find on a sailing man-of-war. To make the sails I've used painting canvas dyed with tea, and with a sewing machine I've added the reefing lines. She was originally built on prefab hulls utilizing Imperial Shipyard's next-gen design, but evolved into a waterline model after seeing DPW's Ship-of-the-Line. She now has a technic brick frame to keep her from hogging, or falling to bits. Many pictures of the build can be found in the WIP thread. Credit goes out to many builders who's techniques have been included in this model, and to the community for the feedback given to bring this ship to its fullest potential. I'm quite happy with the stern in the end. I carved up and pieced together the lattices from the larger window latices. They really make the stern pop! I've used wheels to create the various blocks and tackle found throughout the standing and running rigging. The "chains' are made of a wire that holds each block to the hull passed through a technic flex tube. Building them in this way has made the masts extremely stable. Here you can see a few of the 14 brick built cannon purchased direct from the D.P. Wesley Foundry in Bricksburg. I've tried to include as much detail on the deck as I could. The capstan is shown though at the moment it doesn't function. The captain's cozy cabin. Captain Townsend inspecting the newest addition to his expanding fleet.
