NOTE: As some of you might be able to guess, the loco was inspired by pictures of @SavaTheAggie's original streamlined Hudson locomotive from 2007... no instructions were used to build this engine. See the inspiration here on Flickr. This Dreyfuss-style streamlined 4-6-4 steam loco is to be numbered 5448 and is mostly modeled after a real, long-scrapped New York Central engine. The matching passenger cars are slightly based off the Santa Fe Super Chief LEGO sets from 2002. The art-deco style engine by itself. I've got 869 parts for both the engine and coaches left to find out of the 1479 I started with. This means I've found 610 parts across both projects. (I separated the engine from the coaches to make purchasing easier) The rear of the loco. The tender really should say the railroad's full name instead of its initials, but I don't want to shell out the money for all those 1 x 1 tiles, so I'm using fewer 2x2 tiles instead to spell out NYC, as it's much cheaper that way! The rear of the passenger cars, showcasing the teardrop-shaped observation car. All the cars roof's come off, and there is room for 21 minifigs in the seats, plus room in the baggage car for luggage. NOTE: This locomotive MOC is either going to be a January 2024 or December '23 build, with the coaches coming the month after. I have other things I have to do first that will influence that decision, so we will see when this gets built. I will keep you guys posted on any progress, of course! Thoughts, comments or questions welcome! EDIT 12/8/23: coaches added to first post, new pictures uploaded and text restructured.
