  1. Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s independent source for shipping news. April 618. Vol 3, Issue 3 CONTACT IN THE NEW HAVEN SEA! Some of us at the KPA have been wondering why the Carno trade fleet plying the Brick Seas these days has been so small. Now we have an idea why. Our man in Poorvintia reports that several Carno ships have just returned from an extended voyage in the New Haven Sea to the southeast. The ship captains are trying to keep the crews quiet, but KPA reporters know how to expense report a few rounds of drinks far too well to not get the story. Carno has apparently established a settlement on an extremely large island in the southwest portion of the sea. However, they have also discovered a rival settlement by the Kingdom of the Lotus from southern Halos! Initial contact apparently did not go well, and from the battle scars on some of the returning ships and the activity around the naval office in Poorvintia, we can only guess that Carno is preparing for a fight! GARVEYIAN PORT SACKED As the “Fence of Madrice,” many assume Garvey is immune in some way to the ravages of the pirate scourge in the Brick Seas, but that is not the case. The port of Leopaldis was the victim of a harassing raid by pirates this month! With no vessels on patrol to protect the town, a powerful pirate fleet pounded the small fortifications and raided the town bank, fleeing with their booty before the militia could be summoned. No trade ships were harmed in port, and business continues as usual today, but the town is now in poor financial shape and it will take some time to rebuild their reserves. SHIPPING REPORT Corries Scrap with Sea Rats Again Our man in King’s Harbour reports that a large Corrish fleet sailed into port with two captured Sea Rat vessels: the Priest’s Bounty and the notorious Pineapple Revenge! Red coat crews also claimed to have damaged the Sea Rat flagship Komodo Dragon. The crew of Pineapple Revenge have protested, noting that they were not flying the black, but the Corrie crews point out that Priest’s Bounty and Komodo Dragon were flying the back, making the entire squadron fair game. All was not cheers and huzzahs for the red coats, however, as fleet flagship HMS Wentham went down in the fight. Have We Finally Heard the Last of Gregory Decker? From Bardo we have news that the Eslandolan pirate hunting ship Cardinal II came into port with TWO ships in tow: the sloop Butcher and the brig of war Blood and Guts, reportedly belonging to a former Gregory Decker associate calling himself Captain Gore. The fledgling pirate captain was captured along with his ships, so it looks like we’ll have another pirate hanging this month. At least Captain Gore will have the lovely sounds of Bardo’s music festival to listen to until he hangs from the gallows! On the down side for the Greenies, however, our man in Bardo also reports that the galleon Triunfo was lost in the course of making the captures. Prio Gets Revenge Last month Prio representatives were outraged that Sea Rats captured one of their trade ships and snuck out of the Corrie port of Jameston before satisfaction could be obtained. So, it looks like Prio has taken matters into its own hands. We hear from Isla Romantica that the Prio trade fleet, led by the man’o’war Pegasus, sailed into Alexport with a prize crew aboard Misfortune’s Wrath! And crews were happy to report they also sank the Dark Narwhal, while at the same time mourning the loss of the armed sloop Patriot to Davy Jones’ Locker. Is this the end of hostilities between Prio and the Sea Rats, or only the beginning? LeColeon Teams Up with Bloody Bill and Montroy! Are we seeing the emergence of a dire pirate threat in the Prio Seas? Remnants of an Eslandola trade fleet pulled into the Trador port missing two of its ships. While the escorts Long Beard and La Salamandra arrived intact, as did the trader Dark Spirit, crews report to our man in Trador that Cotton Lady and Tuna King were captured by a pirate fleet with ships of both pirate Montroy and pirate LeColeon! And far to the west in Quinnsville, we hear that the small Corrish xebec Satyr narrowly escaped a pirate fleet that included the flagships of both Bloody Bill and LeColeon! Does LeColeon control a pirate fleet larger than anyone could imagine? Have the pirates banded together to fight the increasing patrols from Corrington and Eslandola? What other pirates might join their force? These are dangerous times indeed. Bluebeard to Ransom Corrie Crews? The Corrish man’o’war HMS Proserpine and xebec Lady Jacqueline have not been heard from, but our man in Calisto believes that the pirate Bluebeard may have crews of one or both of the ships hidden away somewhere. We await more news on the fate of the men and their ships. ZvW Strikes Again From Poorvintia we hear the crew of the WTC Riff Raft are reporting that their ship was damaged in an encounter with Zublius Von Wreck in the Cocovia Sea. The WTC crew claim to have sunk ZvW’s man’o’war flagship, Ghost Harvester, but can offer no proof, and we in the KPA offices find their claim suspect. Harrison Torn Attacks Corrington Trade Fleet In Nova Terreli the crew of the Corrish cutter-rigged sloop Alexander is telling the tale of their narrow escape from the clutches of Harrison Torn’s pirate fleet in the Sea of Storms. Their squadron mates were not so lucky, as the schooner Pinto Filly went to the bottom and Torn captured The Defiance. A New Pirate to be Reckoned With? From Lavalette we hear the crew of Sapphire Seas is busy repairing damage from a pirate man’o’war flying a new “Jolly Roger”. We don’t know the name of this pirate, but he was reportedly also flying Sea Rat colors. Be on the lookout for this new threat. Namere Traders Fare Well Our man in Belson tells us that the large Namereian trade fleet that left Kings Port earlier this month arrived in the Corrish capital safely and turned a handsome profit on their cargo of Terraversan goods. We can only assume that other traders will quickly realize the wisdom of calling on our port and the profit in trading for our fine wares. POLITICS King’s Harbour Celebrates The end of last month saw a veritable Who’s Who of the Brick Seas gather for festivities celebrating the rapid growth of the city of King’s Harbour. Corrington pulled out all the stops to put on quite a party. Not only was a good time apparently had by all, but our reporter on the scene tells us that a lot of political and business connections were fast at work throughout the evening, as were spies of all nations! If you’ve been trying to keep a secret lately, we hope for your sake that you weren’t at the ball! RNTC Spending Spree Our man in Lavalette reports that the Royal New Terra Company is looking to purchase properties in that settlement, offering three times the going rate for factories, artisan shops, prospective mines, and enhancements to the town’s arts and culture, and twice the going rate for other properties. Our man also tells us the RNTC is looking to purchase several large ships. While we understand the RNTC recently paid its first ever dividend to shareholders, we imagine those shareholders are furious at such reckless proposed spending by the company! Eslandolan Council Takes Bribe If it seems the Sea Rats got off easy after attacking an Eslandolan trade fleet last month, perhaps the reason is that the greenies can be bought! That’s right, despite all the claims of a returned ship and a Sea Rat on trial, our sources in Weelond tell us that the real price was a few bottles of cheap swill delivered to the Colonial Council! In civilized nations, this would be a scandal, but in Eslandola, apparently this is just called “doing business.” Where is the outrage? EDITORIAL What Are Oleon’s Intentions? We at the KPA offices have been following with keen interest the visit to Kings Port of representatives of Oleon’s Royal New Terra Company these past weeks. Archduke Oldis was initially insulted by the low-ranking officials sent to our fair island, as were we all, but the mood from the royal palace has improved of late, and the Oleonders are still here, but to what end? While Oleon sends mere merchant officers to Terraversa, we hear from Londa that Oleon sent a royal ambassador to negotiate with the Mardierians. All the while, Oleon’s King Philip back in Granoleon has yet to officially recognize our hard-won independence from Mardier. We at the KPA offices urge Archduke Oldis to be wary of the olive branch the Oleonders appear to be offering with their left hand. Oleon boasts a new arsenal in Astrapi, nearly their entire navy has gathered in Breshaun, and there are rumors from Westface of bluecoat spies (caught by none other than L’Olius himself!); we fear the Oleonders’ right hand may quickly reveal a threatening sword. While we are not privy to the talks between the Archduke and the RNTC, we hope that, despite these subtle attempts to intimidate us, an official recognition from Oleon of our status as an independent nation no longer beholden to Mardier in any form is soon forthcoming. ------------------------------------ Ships Captured in April: Blood and Guts (class 4, un-MOC’d) captured by Cardinal II (MAESTRO / ESL) Butcher (class 2, un-MOC’d) captured by Cardinal II (MAESTRO / ESL) Cotton Lady (c3, MOC) captured by Harpie (Montroy / NPC) HMS Proserpine (c5, un-MOC’d) captured by Blue Dagger (Bluebeard / NPC) Lady Jacqueline (c4, MOC) captured by Bluebird (Bluebeard / NPC) Misfortune’s Wrath (c5, un-MOC’d) captured by Pegasus (Romantica / NPC) Pineapple Revenge (c4, MOC) captured by HMS Victoria (Corrington) Priest’s Bounty (c6, MOC) captured by HMS Bounty (Corrington) The Defiance (c3, MOC) captured by Gray Lilly (Harrison Torn / NPC) Tuna King (c3, MOC) captured by Silent Shadow (LeColeon / NPC) Lost at Sea in April: Blue Blood (Bluebeard / NPC) Dark Narwhal (kaiju / SR) Ghost Harvester ? 3. Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s independent source for shipping news. February-March 618. Vol 3, Issue 2 PIRATE PURGE II BEGINS! Infamous Pirate Gregory Decker Captured! The combined anti-piracy efforts of Corrington and Eslandola got off to a slow start this past month, so it is Oleon who gets our headline with the capture of the pirate Gregory Decker and his ships Executioner and Poisoned Peach. The longtime scourge of the Brick Seas was caught near Baskers Island by an Oleon squadron led by HRS Pride of Oleon and including HRS Combattante, and Licorne. The squadron sailed into the Mardierian capital of Londa with Decker’s two ships in tow. We await word on how soon the pirate may be hanged after the trial. From Nova Terreli: Sea Rats Gain Upper Hand on Joint Corrington-Eslandola Efforts From Nova Terreli we have bad news for Eslandola naval efforts. A joint Corrington-Eslandola squadron was decimated by the Sea Rats’ Komodo Dragon squadron in the Sea of Thieves. From the crews of Corrington’s WTC Judgement and Eslandola’s Cardinal’s Shadow we hear that Eslandola’s Mercury went to Davy Jones’ Locker, and that Eslandola’s Thunder was captured. Reports from Bastion confirm that the Thunder was indeed captured. We have yet to hear what arrangements may be made for the crew. Further bad news from Nova Terreli: Eslandola ship Wringe II did not arrive as expected. We have no report on ship or crew, but all are assumed lost. Oleon Tangles with Bluebeard In more news from Nova Terreli, Oleon ships HRS Tonnant and HRS Ardent sailed into port with Bluebeard’s Blue Bayou in tow. Word from the Oleon crews is that they also damaged the pirate flagship Blue Dagger before the bearded one escaped. From Jameston: Corrington vs LeColeon: You Win Some, You Lose Some Our man in Jameston reports that the trade ships Belson and Dancing Dogfish were set upon by two of LeColeon’s ships, but the Corrie crews got the better of them, capturing the Black Star and damaging the Golden Trident. Despite the belief that Black Star is LeColeon’s flagship, he was not aboard it when captured. Did he manage to escape on the Golden Trident, or was he elsewhere? We ask, because … … Our man in Charlatan Bay reports that LeColeon’s Silent Shadow sailed into port with the captured Corrington ship Supreme. We hear the Corrie crew is safe and under lock and key until ransom arrangements can be made. ZvW Gives Corrington a Scare We hear in additional reports from Jameston that ETTC ship Golden Filly narrowly escaped capture at the hands of pirate Zublius Von Wreck. The attack happened somewhere between Calisto and Freeport, but the crew of Golden Filly managed to elude ZvW’s Ghost Harvester and Hades’ Hangman. More Sea Rats / Corrington Diplomacy In Our Future Stop us if you’ve heard a story similar to this before. On second thought, don’t -- we need to sell papers! Last month a Sea Rat squadron attacked an Eslandola trade fleet and then sailed into the Eslandolan port of Fuerte Unido. That encounter appears to have been resolved with the Peregrine -- a ship lost by the Greenies in the Battle of the Five Fleets -- being returned to Eslandola. This month our very busy man in Jameston reports that a Sea Rat squadron sailed into port with the Palmetto included in their numbers. Those of you who pay attention to our monthly reports might recognize the Palmetto as a trade ship out of Prio. Under normal circumstances, the Sea Rat crews might be able to explain how they came to have the ship, but these are not normal circumstances. According to the crews of the Peacock and the Pearl, two other Prio trade ships that sailed into Jameston at the same time, the Prio trio was set upon by the Dark Narwhal, The Drunken Monkey, and Misfortune’s Wrath somewhere in the vicinity of Trador. They claim the Sea Rats stole the Palmetto, and damage to the Peacock certainly supports the claim that they were attacked. We understand Prio representatives have petitioned the mayor of Jameston to seize not just the Palmetto, but all the Sea Rat ships involved in the attack. How Corrington will react is anyone’s guess, but it looks like we’re in for another round of Corrington-Sea Rat diplomacy! From Elsewhere Around the Brick Seas: Harrison Torn Victorious Against Oleon From Baskers Island we hear that Harrison Torn has dropped off the crew of the Oleon ship The Athena before proceeding to sail the ship off with a prize crew. Torn’s three-ship fleet apparently made quick work of The Athena, and the crew claims they had no choice but to lower their colors. We wonder if leaders of the Faith will have anything to say about this defeat when the crew returns home. Montroy Attacks From Port Woodhouse we have reports from the crew of the Corrish ship Satyr that they narrowly escaped the clutches of feared pirate Montroy shortly after leaving Mooreton Bay. We have no other details on the encounter at this time. Sea Rats Suffer Defeat at Hands of Terraversan Traders From Astrapi we hear that a Terraversan trade squadron sailed into port with the Sea Rat ship FTA The Gargoyle. Crews of the armed escorts Typhoon and Tiger were telling the tale in taverns all across town. They claim to have been attacked by the Sea Rats northwest of Nova Terreli and, in addition to capturing FTA The Gargoyle, damaged the King Archibald before driving off it and the Corporal Milton, HMS Pendragon, and Vagabond King. TRADE NEWS Eslandola Trade Fleet Sails Into Mardierian Capital A month after Mardier sailed a trade fleet into the port of Weelond, the Eslandolans responded in kind, sailing a six-ship squadron led by the galleon Espada de Luna into the Mardierian capital of Londa. We understand that the squadron was supposed to be even more impressive, but the Sleeping Siren II developed problems en route and was diverted to Arlinsport. The Mardierian visit to Weelond passed without incident last month; we’ll see how the Greenies fare in Londa this month. Happy Merchant Crews, or Hit ‘Em Where They Ain’t Our man in Kieg reports that the crew of the Eslandolan ship Triunfo is spending freely in the local taverns after an exceptionally good run. Profits appear to have been so high because the Triunfo was the only trade ship to visit Kieg this month, so the locals were willing to pay well above market price for her cargo. From Granoleon we hear a similar tale about the crews of the visiting Altonian trade squadron. Oleon’s port taxes appear to be creating a seller’s market for those willing to visit Bluecoat ports. The Oleon capital was amazingly devoid of incoming ships this month, and merchants were overbidding for the few cargos that came in. But from Breshaun we hear that the port taxes are working as intended. With only Oleon ships visiting the port, Malto Express and Fleur Verte raked in huge profits. Given that Malto Express is owned by the RNTC, we’re curious to see how the directors hide these profits in the next financial report. Nova Terreli was bustling this month, with approximately three dozen ships calling on the Eslandian port. It should be noted that more than a third of those did not appear to be trade ships, however. But the heavy traffic seems to have kept trading profits down this month. Finally, we have a couple reports of happy Eslandolan crews in Prinport and Terreli. The crew of Filo Morado was spending big after they were one of only two trade ships to call there this month. And the crew of the Green Winds III turned a tidy profit in Terreli amidst modest traffic to the Eslandian capital. PAGE 2 Corrington Officials Lose Minds, Grant WTC Charter Word from the rapidly growing city of Mesabi Landing is that Corrish officials have granted the WTC request for official Trade Company status. When Queen Annetta hears of this, we suspect somebody’s head will roll! Construction Subsidies to Be Had In Bastion It has come to our attention that Captain Rodsh Derr (@Bart) has offered to pay half the construction costs for two commercial buildings and three factories in Bastion. Contractors in Bastion looking to take advantage of this offer should contact Captain Derr directly. Sailing Panther Sir Mowgli’s “house cat” Bagheera is still at large and the three chests reported as a reward in last month’s KPA remain unclaimed. So far the only leads come from rumors of a large black cat last seen riding a raft with a small sail. No one can say what happened to the original raft riders or where the panther encountered the raft, but the cat was last seen “sailing” its raft past Poorvintia. 4. The infamous pirate Gregory Decker was pursued by Oleon vessels for several days consecutive. The pirate captain, with most of his ships sank or captured, had no other thought than get away from his pursuer at any cost, even if he had to abandon his flagship and his crew to the imperials. Here we can see our Captain Decker using a rowboat to transfer his treasure chests on board of a pirate schooner. Alas, the crew of the schooner had to lower the sails to get the captain and his treasure on board, this offered an excellent opportunity to an Oleon two-decker to shorthen the distance between them. -Hoist the sails, me hearties, we must not let those amateurs catch us! said Gregory Decker. On board of the Oleon warship: - "We can't catch them, captain, they are too fast!" said a midshipman. - "Man the guns!" replied the Oleon captain. - "But they are out of chasers' range now." - "Not the chasers, I want a full broadside!, man the guns and right full rider! " from the quarterdeck, the old captain with grey beard has quickly evaluated the situation and ordered a bold move. When the smock was dispersed, the pirate schooner has lost all its masts. A rowboat full of fusiliers marins was lowered to board the immobilized schooner. C&C are welcome, the schooner will be licensed as a class 3 boat.
  5. Some quick reminders about some of the new ship rules in Era II that affect your ability to participate in the MRCAs: -Players start out with the ability to operate up to 10 ship levels in the MRCA. If you want to operate more than 10 ship levels, you need to purchase additional levels (see the ship licensing form). -Trade Companies start with the ability to operate 0 ship levels. If a Trade Company operates any ships in an MRCA, it must purchase the ship levels. -When purchasing additional ship levels, a small non-licensable build is required to explain or illustrate the transaction in some fashion. See here for an example. One build is required per entity per increase. *IF* the build meets the normal requirements, it *CAN* be licensed as a property. According to the Active Ship Summary spreadsheet, seven players have currently licensed more than 10 ship levels each. If they plan on operating all of those ships in this MRCA (both Adventure MRCA and Trade MRCA combined), they will need to purchase additional ship levels. Also according to the Active Ship Summary spreadsheet, no trade companies have currently licensed any ships. If they plan on licensing and operating any ships in this MRCA (both Adventure MRCA and Trade MRCA combined), they will need to purchase ship levels. See the About Ships thread and the Ship License form for more information on ship levels, ship level limits, and purchasing additional ship levels.
  6. The sign-up deadline for the next Adventure MRCA and Trade MRCA is February 25, midnight, anywhere in the world. ---------------- Players can sign up for both the Adventure MRCA and the Trade MRCA, but individual ships can only participate in one or the other, not both simultaneously. To sign-up for the Adventure MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. To sign-up for the Trade MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. For a ship to take part in either MRCA, it must be licensed. You can license your ship under the new ship rules via this form. ---------------- NEW RULES: Raise the BLACK FLAG! When a player submits his/her MRCA orders and wishes to go "all pirate," but not have it reflect on the faction, he/she can choose a new "black flag" option on the ship's MRCA order. All ships listed on that order will then, rather than be considered Sea Rats (or whatever faction the player is from), be considered “black flag” pirates. Once a ship has been registered as a “black flag” pirate AND committed an act of piracy, it retains its “black flag” status until some external event (capture, trial, pardon, etc.) wipes its slate clean. A player won't be committed to being a pirate going forward, but each black flag ship will be. Note that this requires players to follow the honor system and continue to check the “black flag” option for the ship in subsequent MRCAs (until we have a way to track it automatically). The MRCA forms will also have a “black flag” targeting option for players wishing to hunt pirates. Note that black flag pirates will be distinct from independent pirates. Also note that the MRCA forms have not been updated yet, so if you plan on raising the black flag on a ship this month, wait for us to update the forms before you submit your orders use the ship license form. Repairing your ship You have probably noticed the "damaged" results in the MRCA results the last few months. To this point, it has had no effect on the game. Starting this month, damaged ships will incur higher upkeep costs the month they are damaged. There is no need for players to do anything, just know that your maintenance costs will reflect the cost of repairing the damage. FYI. ---------------- Help Wanted: Players who have some time the two weeks after the MRCA are asked to help out with the AMRCA. The Adventure MRCA requires some GMing, and the more help we have, the quicker we can turn things around and keep the MRCAs on a monthly schedule. 7. Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s independent source for shipping news. January 618. Vol 3, Issue 1 Rough Seas in West Vexes Mariners A storm system worked its way from the Corrington coast through the Sea of Storms all the way to the island of Nellisa before it wore itself out. Along the way, it caused several ships to divert to secondary ports, and three are believed claimed for Davy Jones’ Locker. In Prinport, crews from ships in the Corrish squadron led by HMS Pegasus report that Sulky Harlequin succumbed to the stormy seas. From Breshaun we hear that Pélican went down not long after leaving Belson. And from our continental sources we hear that Green Winds II was known to be sailing through the storm’s path and is now long overdue in the Eslandolan capital and feared lost. At this time we have no word if any of the crews were rescued. Sea Rats Continue to Harass Shipping The recent hostilities between the Sea Rats and Corrington do not appear to have slowed the Sea Rat assault on shipping in the Brick Seas. We have reports on two encounters each between the Sea Rats and Corrington, and between the Sea Rats and Eslandola. Out of Breshaun we hear from the crew of Corrington’s Pioneer that, while sailing alone from Terraversa to Le Bellan, they were set upon by a squadron of five Sea Rat ships led by Vagabond King. The plucky crew of Pioneer were vastly outnumbered and were nearly sunk, but managed to damage the Corporal Milton before making their escape. Corrington clearly hasn’t forgotten the events of the past months, either, as our man in Port Raleigh reports that he saw the HMS Wentham squadron sail into port with Wolf II in tow! That said, we guess the Sea Rats put up quite a fight, as both HMS Huntress and HMS Gauntlet looked far worse for wear than when they were last seen, and HMS Bagg of Bolton and HMS Bull Shark returned to port prior to the rest of the squadron. As for a new front of Sea Rat hostilities, our man in Pontelli reports that the crew of the Eslandolan ship Piece of Eight, en route from Isla de Victoria, was jumped by five Sea Rat ships, led by Clearance, off the coast of Stephanique. The crew of the Piece of Eight seemed in good spirits, however, praising the design of their speedy vessel in escaping the threat and completing their run. But the biggest news might be what we hear from Nova Terreli and Fuerte Unido. In Nova Terreli, crews of the arriving Eslandola trade squadron report a major engagement with Sea Rat ships, again near Stephanique. Five Sea Rat ships, led by Sirrus, attacked the five Eslandolan ships, led by escorts Verde Oro and Firefly. But the trade ships in the convoy also included a couple of well-armed traders in Reventazon and Prince Fernando II, and the Eslandolan crews report damaging two of the attacking ships before driving them off. Firefly does appear to have suffered damage in the encounter. However, the twist on this story comes to us from Fuerte Unido, where the aforementioned Sirrus fleet sailed into the Eslandolan port! The ships Lenore and Peregrine do indeed appear damaged. No word yet on what Eslandola’s Colonial Council might do when they hear of these events, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the Fuerte Unido port authorities seize the Sea Rat ships until the matter can be sorted out. ZvW Tests King’s Harbour Defenses The Sea Rats aren’t the only pirates harassing the Red Coats. Reports from King’s Harbour state that two ships flying the flag of the infamous Zublius Von Wreck attacked the gunboats defending the port. One of the gunboats was nearly sunk, and another damaged, but the crews did their job well, damaging both of ZvW’s ships and driving them off. Local citizenry is praising the recent Corrie naval focus on gunboat construction. Oleon Anti-Pirate Patrol Pays Off Our man in Breshaun reports that the HRS Pride of Oleon and HRS Combattante returned from patrol with pirate Harrison Torn’s Black Lilly in tow. While the Oleon squadron was not able to capture the infamous pirate or his flagship, the capture of one of his ships surely puts a dent in his ability to harass merchant shipping in the area. Sea Rats Capture Notorious Pirate LeColeon? Our man in Bastion is still trying to determine just what happened between the Sea Rat squadron led by Komodo Dragon and the renowned pirate LeColeon. The pirate was rumored to be somewhere on Nest of Thieves this past month, but his ships were not seen in Bastion’s harbor. The crew of Pineapple Revenge report that, shortly after they left port, they were attacked and nearly sunk in an attack by the famed pirate. Komodo Dragon and the others in the squadron quickly turned the tables on LeColeon, forcing Golden Trident into port and capturing the pirate and his flagship, Black Star, before only the smallest of LeColeon’s fleet, Silent Shadow, escaped. Whether the attack by LeColeon was in error, and what the Sea Rats of Bastion might do with the pirate and his ships, we will have to wait and see. Pirate Montroy Turns Tables on Eslandola From Freeport we hear reports from the disheartened crew of Eslandola’s Midnight Mist. Sailing on an anti-piracy cruise, they surprised the pirate Montroy in his flagship, Neptune’s Scream, near the Rum Isles. The crew thought they had the pirate, but counted their bounty too soon. Montroy expertly countered the attack, severely damaging Midnight’s Mist before the Greenies were forced to flee. Oleon Traders Score Big Reports from Breshaun tell of us of happy merchants in the Blue Coat port. Crews of Comtesse de Praenia and Le Recouvrance are partying in the streets. Despite coming in from entirely different ports of origin, the two ships appear to have made huge profits on their runs. We hear that the RNTC ship Le Gros, along with The Argo, also did extremely well on their voyage from Astrapi. Our reporters in Astrapi, Londa, and Belson also report happy Oleon crews and merchant captains. We can only assume this means good news for the coffers of Oleon’s Royal New Terra Company. While the RNTC’s highly anticipated financial report for 617 is expected by the end of the month, these January 618 profits are not likely to be included on it. Mardier Trade Fleet Sails Into Weelond After the reappearance of the Mardier trade fleet last month, we speculated on when the fleet, with its powerful escorts, might sail into an Eslandian port. Well, we need wait no longer. Although it is the smaller of the two Mardier fleets currently sailing the western seas, a five-ship fleet led by the armed escort Marauder made port in Weelond this month. Despite our hopes for fireworks, none have been reported, although the Mardier crews do seem to be getting a good ribbing in the dockside taverns. We will see if this leads to any trouble down the road. - Page 2 - Corrish Scientists Announce Latest Calculations on Circumnavigation Among those who ascribe to the theory that Terra is round, not flat, are member of Corrington’s scientific community. Recently they published a report that purports to support their claim by estimating that the world is approximately 30,000 miles around its circumference. Flat Terra enthusiasts scoffed at the calculations as fake news. Progress on the Cocovia Wagonway? Our sources on Cocovia report that the effort to build a road of iron rails from King’s Harbour to Quinnsville is over budget and behind schedule. While reports from the WTC blame workers’ unions, other sources blame the Poi Poi natives. News from the South Seas Our agent in Lavalette reports that a crew from a convoy heading to Stephanique saw a strange ship flying what seemed to be a big red flag that mirrored their course while keeping its distance. When the escorting ship Beltoise was sent to identify it, the mysterious ship changed tack to sail away. Beltoise followed, and neither ship has been seen afterwards, the Beltoise failing to reach Lavalette. Major Theft in Eslandola Reliable sources tell us that a number of DBs -- amount uncertain, but well into the thousands -- has disappeared overnight from the coffers of Guy Wyndzon’s uncle. Both Guy and his uncle are former members of the Merchants Colonial Trading Company board. Rumor says that the pecuniary difficulty comes at a most inconvenient time, and Guy’s uncle may intend to set off on an unusual expedition to recoup his losses. What's more, the thieves are still on the loose, and no one knows where or when they will strike next. Stay tuned! Panther Overboard Sir Mowgli of Corrington reports his trained “house cat,” a large black panther, is missing at sea. During a recent mishap aboard the Maidens Fortune, which was transporting Sir Mowgli's cat, the feline was allowed to salt himself. While the captain was unavailable for comment, a few of the enlisted men were convinced to share the story over some grog. While sailing through the Azure Sea a rogue wave caught the ship across her leward side and allowed the misshapen bends to come loose that were securing the beast’s cage. After chasing the men around the deck and stealing the captain’s cover it leapt overboard and began to swim. The cat, which was raised from a cub by Sir Mowgli and answers to “Bagheera,” is trained to do many party tricks, and Sir Mowgli has collected three chests of gold coin for his cat’s safe return. - Editorial page - Paperwork Problems in Various Ports Customs agents across the Brick Seas continue to have problems with paperwork. The following vessels all encountered problems with customs agents and port authorities due to misspellings in their submitted forms: The Gargoyle, Viper, Misfortune’s Wrath, Nerdy Mermaid’s Sister, The Drunken Monkey, Golden Crescent, Supreme, Persévérante, and The Galaxie. Also note the correct spelling for some of these commonly misspelled port names: Baskers Island, King’s Harbour, Kings Port, Leopaldis. January MRCA analysis

The Arlinsport Advisor missed out (quite rightly) the MRCA results, so I decided to put together some data showing just what happened in terms of profits. Here is the overview, you can see that Oleon made the most profits, almost double Corrington and Eslandola! Factions As a chart Chart And again as a table: Table This table also shows how few Sea Rats took part in the MRCA. They still caused a big fuss though. 16 out of 223 ships sank, got captured or where diverted, about 7%. That's all from me, it was quite easy to do but didn't show much in the end. Hope it was useful, if you think it was I'll do it again next time. Sorry if there is a large space at the bottom of this post.

  11. King’s Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s independent source for shipping news. November 617. Vol 2, Issue 5 Corrington vs Sea Rats Last month we reported that ships flying the Sea Rats banner had attacked Corrington ships, and in the subsequent weeks the Corries threatened retribution. We have learned of two large sea battles near Bastion between Corrington and the Sea Rats. The thunder and smoke of battle could be heard and seen on the horizon from the beach, causing quite the commotion as speculation ran rampant among the onlookers. In the first engagement, the HMS Mars and HMS Publius intercepted a Sea Rat squadron led by the Corporal Milton headed for Breshaun. The Sea Rats defended themselves against the attack and sent the Mars to the bottom, and the Publius eventually had to put in at Pontelli after it broke off, as it could not make it all the way to Nova Terreli. But in the second engagement, a large Corrington fleet led by HMS Huntress got revenge on the ships that sank the Western Wind in October, sinking the Cardinal and capturing Misfortune’s Revenge! We can only anticipate the spectacle of public trials for the captured! But while there was much rejoicing when they brought the ship back to Port Raleigh, our agent couldn’t help but notice that three ships did not return. Our agent in Bastion reports that the crews of the Komodo Dragon, Viper, and Pineapple Revenge were claiming to have sent HMS Whisper and HMS Mardier’s Misfit to Davy Jones’ Locker. Elsewhere, the Sea Rats appear to have gotten the upper hand in a smaller engagement. In Mooreton Bay the crew of the WTC Icarus Returning claims that, in the vicinity of Lacryma, a Sea Rat squadron led by the Sirrus, and including the Peregrine, captured the WTC Beacon. Additionally, our agent in New Haven tells us that the Corrington ship Ferret failed to arrive in port. Debris believed to be the Ferret was found not far from Elizabethville, where it began its journey. While the redcoats are quick to suspect the Sea Rats in this matter, there is no evidence to support the claim. Names in the News The Corrington outrage at the activities of certain Sea Rats last month has apparently not gone unnoticed by various well-known members of the account. We have local reports that the ships of the pirate captain LeColeon were spotted on the seas around Terraversa this month. One rumor says they had the upper hand in an engagement with the Corrish ship HMHV Athena before the redcoats escaped, but that report has not been corroborated. In another report, HMS Carnage was damaged in a scuffle with Harrison Torn’s Black Star. We also hear that the HMS Ironsides scrapped with the Ghost Harvester and Hades’ Hangman of Zublius Von Wreck before the notorious pirate escaped. Finally, we have reports that the Corries had some success against the infamous Bluebeard, capturing one of his ships before the bearded one, in his flagship the Blue Dagger, turned the tables on them and forced the Colonial Gunboat to flee with its prize. Elsewhere, our contacts with members of The Faith tell us that Bloody Bill again tangled with the Oleon navy, forcing HRS Tonnant and HRS Ardent to flee the scene. But Oleon had better luck against Captain Montroy. A squadron led by the HRS Ville de Breshaun captured a small sloop in Montroy’s squadron before the pirate escaped with his flagship, Neptune’s Scream. Finally, from Bardo, we have a confirmed sighting of pirate Gregory Decker in the Sea of Storms. He attacked the Eslandolan vessel Green Winds II, but the greenies sank the Poisoned Pearl before escaping from Executioner. Mardier Trade Fleet Makes Grand Entrance It has been a number of months since we have the seen the renowned Mardier trade fleet on the seas. But this month it made a grand entrance sailing into the port of Breshaun, four large trade ships escorted by three large armed escorts, led by the armed galleon Minerva. Word on the street is that Mardier is trying to reassert its power in the region by showing it can sail anywhere it wants, port taxes be damned. Another squadron, slightly less impressive, sailed into Belson at about the same time, although the largest ship in that squadron was the war brig Marauder. We can only imagine that the greenies are shaking in their boots wondering when the Mardier trade fleet will sail into an Eslandolan port, and how the encounter might go. Eslandola Makes Money Hands over Fists, and Oleon and Carno Fare Well, Too From Nova Terreli we hear that the port wasn’t nearly as busy as last month, and that left profits on the docks to be gathered up by MCTC ships arriving from Trador. Our man in the harbor master’s office tells us that trade company overlords were giddy with the profits of La Contessa de Victoria and Jon El Flurry. Carno traders also turned a pretty pence on their trading in the Eslandolan port. Locally, crew from the Oleon ship La Recouvrance have been spending freely in the pubs after they apparently made a handsome profit on their cargo here in Kings Port. And Oleon traders did well elsewhere, too. From Breshaun we hear the captain of The Lightning has filled his chest to the brim with doubloons, and our man in Prinport sends word that the crew of Pelican are spending freely in the local entertainment establishments. Intrigue from Oleon In another report from Oleon sources, some black-hooded people have been seen at various Oleon islands. What do they want? Where did they come from? Nobody knows... Well, on the other hand, the same sailors telling this tale also claimed that they have indeed seen a real mermaid. Until we have more information, KPA editors are inclined to think certain Oleon sailors need to drink a little less. Political Rumblings Eslandola will soon begin its political season, as December is the campaign month for elections at the end of the year for their Revolutionary, er, Colonial Council. It is believed that the Independents' seats on the Colonial Council will finally be sought, putting the trade company overlords on notice! Hammish Grei, formerly captain of the Island Rose, is currently performing public service as commodore coordinating the protection of a select portion of Eslandola's trade fleet. But that is not all he is doing. Grei has been seen conversing with many of the most independent-minded of Eslandola's citizenry. He has also sought, and received, audience with several currently serving members of the Colonial Council. We can only hope he wins a seat in the council and turns the tables on the trade companies! Ghost Ship Spotted? Our agent in Jameston reports that the crew of The Eagle claim to have seen a mysterious ghost ship in the South Prio Seas. While we at the KPA are skeptical, and suspect the crew of The Eagle of drinking with certain Oleon sailors, our agent reliably informs us that the tale was being told before the drinking began. We leave it to our readers to determine the veracity of this report. Burdensome Bureaucracy Apparently port officials throughout the Brick Seas are looking for new ways to line their corrupt pockets. Sources indicate that these officials are looking for the slightest excuse to seize cargo and deny profits on otherwise successful voyages. Apparently even the slightest misspelling can be justification for seizure. One captain reportedly lost income after he misspelled the name of his ship on forms, and a similar fate befell another captain who simply left off the "II" from the name of his sistership. Our sources report that captains need to be certain their paperwork is a perfect match for the ship registries held by port officials lest they face serious consequences. [OOC: MRCA forms must have proper spelling to the letter. If there is any concern, please copy and paste destinations, origins, and ships from their respective listings. 12. A couple of weeks ago, shortly before trade ships set sail in November... The Weelond harbor was bustling with activity as sailors made their way to their ships and captains checked their manifests with the harbor master. Captain Philip Janszen was one of those captains. The Far Horizon was to set sail for Terreli shortly. But Janszen had received word that Willem Guilder, Director of the MCTC, needed to meet with him. And so Janszen and his first mate, Anthony Crol, headed back to the harbor master's office to meet the director. "Any idea what this is about?" asked Tony. "Not a clue," answered Pip. "But it must be important for the director to want to speak to me personally. Maybe he needs us to see to something for him in Terreli at MCTC headquarters." Pip and Tony turned the corner, and there was Guider, coming out of the harbor master's office. Janszen waved at Guilder. "Director, here we are! I hope we haven't kept you waiting." "No, not at all, Pip," replied Guilder. Janszen thought it odd that the director would call him by his nickname. Usually the director was more businesslike when talking with MCTC captains, but he assumed it was a good sign. "What can I do for you, director?" asked Pip. But Janszen soon found out that he was wrong. "Pip, I have some bad news." Guilder stumbled momentarily for the right words. "What is it?" asked Pip. He had never seen the director like this. "I've received word from Nova Terreli. The Prince Fernando went down in the storms last month." "The ... Prince ... Fernando ... ?" Pip stammered, his voice trailing off. Guilder gave him a moment to compose himself, then Pip continued. "And Captain Reyngout?" Guilder saw the realization in Janszen's eyes. "Yes," Guilder replied, "Captain Reyngout was on board. Commodore Reyngout, actually; the Prince Fernando was his flagship for the convoy. The seas were too heavy in the storm, and the ship was just too old to take it." Guilder paused for a moment. "All hands were lost." Janszen could not muster a reply. When Pip was just an orphan on the street, it was Captain Reyngout who had brought him aboard ship, given him a home, and taught him the ways of the sea. Reyngout was essentially the father Pip never had. Guilder continued. "I know you were close to Captain Reyngout, so I wanted to let you know personally. You've exceeded the promise ol' Cornelius saw in you when he brought me to your attention years ago. I know he was proud of you." "Thank you, sir..." was Janszen's muffled reply. "If you need anything when you return from Terreli, let me know. In the meantime, I'll arrange for a proper memorial for him." Guilder turned to Tony. "You'll see that he's alright, I trust?" "Yes, director," replied Tony. "Very well." Guilder turned back to Pip. "I must be off. My condolences, captain." And with that, Guilder left them to commiserate in private. With the director out of sight, Pip finally broke down. "There, there, Pip," said Tony. "Let's get you back to the ship. I have a bottle I've been saving from that run to Breshaun last year. Let's open 'er up." Pip nodded in agreement, unable to speak. As the two made their way back to their ship, Pip manage to get out a few words. "Rest in peace, Cornelius Reyngout, and godspeed." ****************** Some additional views of the build: ***************** When I saw the MRCA results last month, I had to decide whether one of my favorite side characters would go down with his ship or manage to cheat death. I thought with the dawn of Era II, it was time to let developments dictate the story. As for the build, the structure is copied in large part from one pictured in one of the Lego Adventure books, but I've made enough changes to make it my own. It was a puzzle to figure out how to cleanly manage the recessed walls on both sides of a corner, but I'm glad I worked it out. As the office for the Weelond harbor master, I'll license it as a small commerce property. As always, all C&C welcome.

  15. King’s Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s independent source for shipping news. October 617. Vol 2, Issue 4 Stormy Seas The seas are rife with activity again, but Poseidon was not kind to many on their return. We have heard word of rough seas from several ports, especially in the Cocovia Sea and the Sea of Storms. Among the losses that have reached our ears: in the Cocovia Sea, Eslandola was hit hard with the loss of warships Oscuridad and Victoria on their way to Trador, Oleon lost the Dancing Ember, and Corrington lost the Red Friar (as reported by the crew of the Dozy Dragon when she made port in New Haven). Closer to home here in Terravera, Elsandola’s MCTC merchant flagship Prince Fernando went down, as did Corrington’s ETTC ship Sparta, while trying to cross the open seas to Nova Terreli. In the Sea of Storms, Oleon lost the HMS Tiddlywinks and the Fleur Verte (the latter as reported by the crew of Little Hermes when it reached port in Breshaun). No word has reached us on the fate of their captains and crews. Pirates! Storms were not the only hazards for sailors this month. Pirate activity was once again a factor on the high seas. We have several reports of pirate attacks on shipping in the Brick Seas. From Londa the crew of The Festiva reports that The Aspiration was captured by pirates as they sailed near the Mardinas, although they also report sinking the largest of the attackers. Oleon ships were also attacked near Eltina, but The Demon Sea Turtle was on patrol and turned the tables, capturing a small armed sloop. From Nova Terreli we hear three pirates attacked Corrington’s HMS Mars, Pinto Filly, and The Defiance, but were able to escape after the HMS Mars sank two of the attacking ships. Even the Sea Rats were not safe from the pirates’ wrath. We’ve heard of two instances of pirates attacking large Sea Rat squadrons. In the first, the Sea Rats emerged victorious, capturing a brig-of-war and an armed cutter, while losing only The Walrus Returns. The crews of Sirrus, Lenore, and Peregrine were celebrating their haul when they sailed into Elizabethville. But from Stormhaven we hear that the pirates sent Sea Rat ships Tigerlily and The Harvester to the bottom and captured Wolf II. Dark Narwhal and Clearance escaped, with the crew of Clearance claiming to have sent a small sloop to its end. Navies in Action Oleon sent out several squadrons to patrol for pirates, but the Oleon reputation for naval expertise was not on display this month. In four separate engagements, pirate squadrons defeated their blue-coated counterparts, sending five ships to the bottom, capturing two, and damaging four others. Included in this naval disaster: HRS Ardent and HRS Tonnant were captured in action near Ile de Tyche, and HRS Breshaun, The Elise, and The Ranger – an entire squadron – were sent to Davy Jones’ Locker when they reportedly engaged infamous pirate Bloody Bill in the vicinity of Prinport. Anti-piracy efforts by Corrington’s WTC fared little better, if only because they didn’t lose any ships. Icarus Returning and Beacon engaged pirates near Mesabi Landing but were quickly on the defensive. With Icarus Returning damaged, the WTC squadron escaped and made their way to King’s Harbour. Return on Investment? Our agents in various Oleon ports send word that RNTC-owned ships Malto Express, Le Gros, and The Marion arrived safely at their destinations. We can only hope that this means a dividend is somewhere in the RNTC’s investors’ futures. Sea Rats get Comeuppance The Sea Rats found that not all merchant convoys are created equal. The word out of Bastion is that The Gargoyle, Vagabond King, and HMS Pendragon limped into port after a convoy they attacked turned the tables on them. Nerdy Mermaid and Hades’ Trumpet were captured by the merchants. Although HMS Pendragon reportedly sent two large vessels to their doom, the remaining ships prevailed over their Sea Rat aggressors. War? But the most interesting activity of all may be the report of two separate attacks by Sea Rat ships on Corrie shipping. Reports out of King’s Harbour say that the HMS Ironsides and Justicia narrowly escaped when attacked by Sea Rat ships Pineapple Revenge and Viper. And in more news from Bastion we hear that the Sea Rat ship Cardinal, along with Misfortune’s Revenge, attacked the Corrington ship Western Wind. The crew of the Western Wind must have put up a spirited defense, because the Sea Rats sent her to the bottom, unable to bring her in. Are the Sea Rats at war with Corrington? What will the Corries’ response be? Paperwork foul up

Willem Guilder couldn't believe it. More paperwork! He thought he had everything sorted out for the MCTC's additional ships and for his own accounts. "Get van der Meede to meet me at the warehouse. And bring the paperwork!" yelled Guilder to an assistant. "That warehouse manager has mucked things up!" Guilder grabbed his walking stick and hurried down to the warehouse district. "Gov'ner, back so soon?" said the warehouse manager. "You wuz just down here the other day. I got the warehouse prepped just the way you wanted." "Don't 'Guv'ner' me. The paperwork you sent has all the cargo assignments in my name! The dock master can't tell what are MCTC cargoes and what are mine." Just then Aaron van der Meede arrived with paperwork from the dock master, desperately trying to get things in order as Guilder continued. "Look, there are different forms for the cargoes from MCTC ships." Guilder motioned to van der Meede without looking at him. "And use these other forms for shipments from my personal ships." Aaron continued to struggle to organize the papers. "What could be easier. Now get it straight!" And with that Guilder hobbled back to his office, leaving van der Meede and the warehouse manager to sort out what was what between Guilder's personal account and the MCTC accounts. --- This corrects my error of using only one build to illustrate both my purchase of extra ship levels and the MCTC purchase of ship levels. Now there are two builds.
  17. Governor Guilder sat at his desk filling out paperwork. As Eslandola's Secretary of Trade, he shared responsibility with Secretary of the Navy Monezterrell on various bureaucratic duties. "So much work to do with the naval reorganization" he thought to himself. "Thank Sol and Luna that Governor Monezterrell has been on top of his duties." Guilder scratched in an extra 'en' in 'La Raya Venenosa.' "I always have trouble with that ship name" he mused. "Yes, Monezterrell has done excellent work. Now I just have to submit the paperwork to the accountants. Supporting a fully functional navy is expensive business, but the trade routes must be secure." Guilder added up his figures. "Hmmm, yes ... ok, that looks right. Now to get this off to the treasury and disbursements..." His thoughts trailed off as he concluded the task.
  18. The warehouse manager was surprised to see Gov. Willem Guilder, director of the Merchants Colonial Trading Company, walk in in the middle of the afternoon. "G'day, gov'nor. What brings you down dockside?" The warehouse manager's accent sounded out of place to Guider, but he ignored it and pressed on with his business. "I'm here to make sure we have proper warehouse space allocated for the coming trade season. The winds are fair at this time, and our trade ships will be busy." Guilder looked around the warehouse and motioned with his walking stick. "That space over there will be needed. We've added ships to our roster. And make sure the outgoing cargoes are logged properly..." The warehouse manager tried to keep track of everything Guilder said, but frankly he was just glad he hadn't been napping when the governor walked in. "And make sure you keep the schedules updated properly. The Lady of Madrice is back in service; I don't want her overlooked..." The Lady of Madrice? Didn't that ship sink? thought the manager. Then again, the ol' Wench seemed to have nine lives. "OK, do you have all that?" The warehouse manager shook his head. "Yessir, gov'ner!" "Very well, get to it" said Guilder as he turned to leave. The manager scratched his head. Now what was he saying about that space over there? ... --- Just a little build for the MCTC and Guilder to purchase some extra ship levels.
  19. The wait is over! MRCA II is here! The sign-up deadline for both the Adventure MRCA and the Trade MRCA is Oct 10, midnight, anywhere in the world (i.e. GMT -12). Players can sign up for both the Adventure MRCA and the Trade MRCA, but individual ships can only participate in one or the other, not both simultaneously. ---- A couple of notes about the Trade MRCA: Convoy rules: -When participating in a convoy, only the owner of the lead ship (or whoever is managing the convoy) needs to register the convoy. Other players in the convoy only need to make sure their participating ship is licensed and not engaged in the Adventure MRCA. -If the convoy has more than 5 ships, a special commander must be paid, as follows: - A commodore may command a group of 6-9 ships at a cost of 100 DBs and 100 PIPs per MRCA. - An admiral may command a group of 10-15 ships at a cost of 200 DBs and 200 PIPs per MRCA. - A national hero may command a fleet of 16-25 ships at a cost of 500 DBs and 500 PIPs per MRCA. Please post the name of the commander in this thread, along with a picture. Additionally, if you want to add a link to a vignette that tells us more about the commander or how he gained this assignment, even better! Patrol/predator routes: When a trade ship enters its route in the web form, it is pretty straightforward. For example, a ship travelling from Arlinsport to Nova Terelli (with a range rating of at least 3) would enter "8,7,3,2" for the four zones it will travel through. A ship on a patrol or predator mission may want to end its trip at the same port it started. So, for example, a ship based in Bastion with a range rating of 4 that wants to hunt for prey near Astrapi and return home would enter "38,1,23,1,38". Note that it lists zones 1 and 38 twice because it passes through them twice. Furthermore, if that same ship wanted to hunt near Puerto Alijo, it could enter "38,1,1,1,38". The shorter distance to its target zone allows it to spend more time in the target zone rather than moving through other zones, and thus gives it a better chance of intercepting prey there.
  20. To the citizens of the Brick Seas, the time has once again come to auction off ships! First, I think last time we were a bit spammy, pushing this thread up to the top constantly. I want to change that, so I have prepared a google form and sheet where you can check if your bid went in. If you want to add a ship to the auction just tell me here and I'll quickly add it to the auction (under your terms, you don't have to follow the Eslandolan terms here) View the current bids here PLACE A BID Eslandola puts the following ships up for auction: Shipname Class Current Owner Minimum bid Pinto 4T2 Eslandola 60 Nino Grande 4T2 Eslandola 60 El Pollo 3T2 Eslandola 40 Margert 2T Eslandola 20 Plump Patty 4A Eslandola 60 Tribute 4A Eslandola 60 Long Beard 4A Eslandola 60 Traders Doom 3A Eslandola 50 Little Tyke 1A Eslandola 15 Floating Eyepatch 1WR Eslandola 10 For these ships the following rules apply: Eslandolans pay 80% of their bid, rounded up Marderians pay 1000% of their bid Starting bid is 20% the ships value Only Eslandolans may bid on Warships bigger than 2A sold by Eslandola (not automated, but I'll check the bids) Tomsche is offering the following ships: Nightmare 2A Tomsche 30 Siren's Song 5LA Tomsche 80 Brad the Pirate 3A Tomsche 50 No limits, everyone may bid on these. Once you bid, it is set, if you decide not to pay you'll be excluded from further auctions. If you accidentally bid too much, want to tell others you placed a bid or have any other questions tell me here. Bidding ends with the end of Saturday, March 11th anywhere in the world (so as long as it still the 11th you may continue bidding) Once again, if you want to bid, click here and enter the relevant information. Check the current bid here.

[MRCA] A Drastic Change of Mood

Happy times seem to be over for Eslandola. And due to the recent attacks by Mardier the mood of the members of the Eslandolean Council has changed drastically: Something must be done. Way back in happier times, even a painting of the Council had been comissioned: C&C welcome.

  24. We've recieved a couple of records that our exploration missions closer to Mardier were attacked by their very own convoys. Off course they weren't successful, else we couldn't tell what exactly happened during said battles. The Migery (along with Blood Diamond and Catfish Supreme, which were under attack from other ships at this time) was nearing the Marderian Convoy, with the intend of sailing along, as we had decided not to attack merchant vessels. As she came closer the bigger merchant close to her opened fire, as did the escort! Well, this was the point where drastic measures had to be taken - the guncrews on board the Migery had to open fire themselves to defend, no matter that the Mardierans missed every single of their shots. Luckily the Migery carried some of the best guncrews in Eslandola and could successfully defend itself against the attacking Marderian vessels. They managed to take out the topmast on the attacking Mardieran Brig and heavily damaged the main mast on the Galleon. Both enemy ships badly damaged, and the Catfish Supreme and Blood Diamond signalling that they had also won their battles, the Marderians quickly gave up and surrendered. After inspecting damage it was decided to remove the main mast from the Galleon, as it was too badly damaged, which forced us to tow it along behind us. Once these ships arrive in an Eslandolan port we'll need a big shipyard to get them fixed up! Similar reports were heard from other ships, even the Mirthless Jest which was sailing along with a couple of Sea Rats carrying Letters of Marque. ________________________ And here you see the reason why we had to capture a couple of merchants - we simply had to defend ourselves. Reports from our lonely explorer Great Scott are still missing, we are waiting for those. Ships in this Story: Wyvren, 4A, in Drydock Migery, 5HA, licensed, MOC acceptance pending Mirthless Jest, 3A, licensed and MOCced Goldilocks, 5T, in Drydock
