  4. EDIT: DAMMIT! 2015 not 2014!!!!! <---------- my bad! I just had an idea, and it covers a couple of topics we have discussed on this forum. Market St.... It's not really one of the modulars, but is treated like one. We all regularly talk it's build quality compared to the others. Star Wars is famous for getting rebooted sets and newer versions of models, so i dreamed up this idea for a modular reboot! I propose for a small challenge/Contest within this very talented community that we come up with a 2015 spec Market st. proposed parameters: - roughly the same size - roughly the same colours We dont have comps on here as much as some of the other sub-forums (we are well overdue for another modular comp), so this could one to pass the time. No prizes, just all the glory. If we can get a few interested competitors, we could then collaborate on duration, rules, judges, scoring and other nitty gritty. this is just an idea i wanted to put out to the forum community as a small in-house contest. *this topic will be deleted in the next 24hrs if no-one is interested
  5. Hi everyone. This is my conversion of the Lego Creator Palace Cinema into a gig venue for rock bands. The video details the current changes and future plans for the MOC. I hope you like the plan. I'll post updates as the internal features develop. Let me know if you have any ideas or comments. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Mike

    MOC: Lego Friends Pet Store

Hi everyone! This is the first part of my second modular building. It is a pet store built only with Lego Friends pieces. I have not decided what I will put on the next level yet. Maybe a toy store or computer store :-) Anyway, I welcome any constructive feedback; I feel like I have just reached a new level with my creative skills now that I have mixed all my pieces and am not just following the instructions to build sets, so I would like to improve even more. 7. Apartment and Coffee Shop MOC by TopperTwist, on Flickr Hello all, this is my first MOC posted on Eurobricks! The exterior of the building is quite simple, and was inspired by old buildings around New York City. Minor SNOT techniques throughout, with the use of dark red as an accent and dark tan as the main color for the rest of the building. The bottom is a hipsteresque coffee shop, and the top two floors are an apartment. Exterior- Back by TopperTwist, on Flickr The back of the building (intentionally) looks dilapidated. Some texture details with exposed "pipes" and overgrown foliage. First Floor Interior by TopperTwist, on Flickr The interior of the coffeshop features a large main counter, with a whole row of flavor pumps beneath the windows. Other details include a coffee maker and decorative gas pump (from the Town Plan) and some paintings. Second Floor by TopperTwist, on Flickr The first floor of the apartment! My favorite part, for sure. Includes an open-concept kitchen, dining area, and living room. More details can be seen on Flickr, as well. Third Floor by TopperTwist, on Flickr The top level is the bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom is in the bottom left corner. There is also a large rug on the floor, and some furniture details. The painting above the bed was inspired by another Eurobricks user whose building skills I really admire, Kristel. She used a similar style painting in her beautiful Sand Blue Townhouse! Street View by TopperTwist, on Flickr The apartment next to some of the more recent official modulars for a size comparison. Thank you so much for viewing, feedback is always appreciated! Orange Style House

Hi Everybody! Here is my new creation. On the ground it is a bookshop with reading corner and upstairs a batchelor flat. I hope you like it! I know it is little bit unusual because it is in the middle of the plate, but i think it is very good for a pedestrian only destrict or something like this. I will build one in the future. 9. Hi everyone I am very excited to share this creation with you. I just completed a big sort and mix of all my Friends pieces, so I could build my own stuff, and this is my first one. I used to keep the sets a little separate (I grouped them by categories and binned them 2 or 3 together) but I was getting frustrated that I would sometimes need pieces from other boxes. and my stepson was getting them all mixed up when he played. So I did the big sort this week and merged everything. And this is my first creation I made using ALL the pieces! I think it is a much higher level than my previous stuff, and when I think back to last year, when I first started Lego, I am embarrassed at what I posted. I think this is much more sophisticated and I really tried to make it nice. I used some techniques like the flower boxes which I learned from building sets, but the only part of this build which came from instructions was the pizza oven---I had just picked up the Stephanie's Pizzeria set and loved the pizza oven, but I was disappointed we didn't get a full restaurant with it so that inspired this build. This is my first attempt at a modular building, and I am currently working on a dorm room, a pet shop and an electronics store to go with the cafeteria. I hope you like this build! I welcome any constructive feedback for ways I can improve my stuff. [MOC] Fire Station

Hi All, Hope everyone is having a great 2015 so far. Here's a Fire Station that I was working on late last year, I actually finished it just before Christmas but have only just managed to find time to put together the details of the build. I've always wanted a classic Fire Station for our town so I went ahead on designing and building one. Built on a modified baseplate with 3 Garage bays with Shutter doors the Fire Station was put together with parts and vehicles from a Fire Station 60004 set and quite alot of used bricks to manage cost, The Fire Truck 60002 was also added to this Fire Station crew. Feel free to check out more information of the MOC with detailed images here as usual. http://www.boxtoy.co...tation-moc.html Also a video here too. https://www.youtube....h?v=27ezJYjk2Z0 Thanks and enjoy the MOC. [uPDATE: Build instructions now available]
  11. Some months ago a topic started here in EB by piterx, inspired to design a little, fast, simple and funny 4x4. My original idea was build again a Land-Rover Defender in small scale to help to the people who likes my previous Defender but it is too much big and expensive. But when I was starting the car I though about that will be even more interesting if I design a chassis which can be used in many differents 4x4. I finnally designed a modular 4x4 platform. I have called it Modular All-terrain Platform (MAP) This platform can be used in almost all 4x4s with live axles. I this category you can find many Jeeps, Land-Rovers, Toyotas and many other famous 4x4. This MOC has been designed to be easy to built, very strong and light, funny to drive and as cheap as possible. The width is 17 studs. The chassis comes in two versions RC and MANUAL, with many features, some of them common, and other specific for one version. Common features - Wheelbase The most important feature in this platform is the option to change the wheelbese very easily and quickly. You only need to change 3 parts, yes only 3 parts to use any wheelbease you want between 22 and 30 studs, without change any other part in the chassis. With all this options you can use it in any vehicle you want and the bodywork will always fit correctly and very proportionate. I have studied many 4x4 and the wheelbase between 22 and 30 with 17 studs of wide is enough to built almost any real 4x4 ever built. - 4WD The chassis has permanent 4x4 traction with two differentials. This platforn has not been designed to be used like a Truck Trial, so it is better use differentials and increase the usability on smooth surfaces. - Live axles suspension Like the bests 4x4 this chassis has live axles with 3-links configutation in front and rear. Also it has good suspension travel, specialy in the rear axle . - Steering by push-pull bar Again like the real 4x4s the front axles use a bar system to make the steering works. Very realistic, strong and reliable. I have measured more than 30 differents 4x4 to fix the steering wheel in the best possible position. MANUAL VERSION FEATURES - Interchangeable fake engine To be used in all possible 4x4s, it is necessary to have the options to use differents fake engines. I have included 3 differents engines: L4, V6 and V8. I have not added a L6 because there are not enough space to fit it. You can change the motor in less than 10 seconds. - Working steering wheel The position of the steering wheel is exactly the same as the RC version. RC VERSION FEATURES - Powered by PF Like the name sais, this version has Power Functions. It uses a servo motor fot the steering and 2L motors for drive. Actually the whole PF system is exactly the same as the set 9398 (Crawler). - 2 speeds gearbox This version also includes a 2 speeds manual gearbox. Perfect to go fast on flat floors and slow cross-country. The gear ratios: Low - 1:1 - Max speed: 1.3kph High - 1:3 - Max speed: 4kph Jeep Willys One of the most famous 4x4 vehicles ever made. This is the first bodywork I have designed because it is small and simple to build, and at the same time very famous and The exacly scale for the Willys is 1:11.6 Now as always a little video showing how it works. Complete instructions for both versions available now!! All info HERE

    Drive-Thru McDonalds Modular [MOC]

Hello all, this is my improved Drive-Thru McDonalds that I have up on LEGO Ideas. Features - removable roof, booths for customers, counter flips up to allow worker to enter/leave, refrigerator, oven, stove in kitchen with clock, soda dispenser (or sink), sunroof, spinnable "Big M" on top. It has come to my attention for the USA (or non UK country) I have the drive-thru going the wrong way. Need to fix that. This works with modulars or stand along in a city layout. It is improved from my original concept which was a mini-McDonalds.

    [MOC] Book Store

Hey guys, I'd like to present my modular Book Store. It's a little smaller than the other modulars, but I like it. No interior yet, don't usually like them, but for a book store, I might have to put in some books. A picture with one of my other MOCs and the PS. (Sorry for the potato quality) With more of my modulars. This is a temporary setup, as my shelf had to be off my wall because of construction on my house. Thanks for looking!

    Aerial Arena

Aerial Arena To appease minifigs upset about the current revenue sharing agreement at Green Gables Stadium, the mayor of Lego City approved construction of a new multi-purpose arena for gymnastics and basketball. (Is there ever enough money to go around!?) Designed by me from June 1 to July 22, 2014 with inspiration from Palacio de Cibeles, Madrid, Spain and Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte, Maincy, France, Aerial Arena was constructed from approximately 33,000 bricks and 400 lots by 8 friends & family with me from December 12-20. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Aerial Arena by RedCoKid, on Flickr
  17. Hi everyone! For many months, my train station was almost finished - just now I took the time to populate the platforms and make all those signs... here's the result: » Flickr album with many more photos My Lego town is called "Port Birch", and this is its South Station. I figured that only 5 tracks aren't enough for the main station of a town with trams, metro, and suburban trains (S-Bahn). Architecturally inspired by several real stations and other buildings... Back side: Interior, from top: Ground floor: In case you're interested but can't read it, this is the train schedule. Note that it's 14:58 now. 09:22 - IC 4558 - Hintertupfingen - platform 5 - indefinite delay (but it just arrived) 14:55 - IC 7740 - Stuttgart via Friedrichshafen, Meckenbeuren, Biberach, Ulm - platform 3 - delayed 15 min 14:59 - RE 2 - Lego City via North station, Belville, Legoland 15:12 - TGV 233 - Paris Est via Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Lorraine, Ch.-Ardenne - platform 2 15:17 - RE 2 - Chimatown via Springfield, Oletown - platform 3 15:29 - RE 2 - same as 14:59 15:40 - E 10194 - Istanbul via Wien, Budapest, Beograd, Sofia - platform 4 - reservation only 15:41 - RE 1 - Emmeton via East Harbor, Bricking - platform changed to 5 15:47 - RE 2 - like 15:17 15:47 - RE 1 - North station - delay 5 min So you see, the REs (Regional Express) are local to this small country, while the others are more or less actual routes. (Well, except for Hintertupfingen, German name for a hypothetical insignificant village). Second floor, offices: Left: Station master with an applicant for a new job; center: secretary; right: security, sign control, announcements. Toilets: Waiting area: Third floor, café: Flowers and books: Back outside, we can see a railway official posing with a fez next to the Orient Express: More photographers and tourists: A group of travelers in elegant (and old-fashioned) clothes going down to their Orient Express - well, looking at the top, maybe they will be down sooner than they'd like: On the next platform: Hoop diddy diddy, hoop diddy do... :) » Flickr album with many more photos Hope you like it. :)

    MOC: Nodding Donkey

Nodding Donkey After the fun I had with the Chinese Laundry and the power functions I had to build something that again 'moved and shaked' and with the recent decline in oil prices I thought a Nodding Donkey would be an interesting build. If you are unfamiliar with these they are simple pumping mechanisms that are used to retrieve Oil or Water from underground. The product is then either stored locally in a tank or piped to a processing plant. I built it in a modular format so that it could fit into my City. The 'A' frame is made of four Technic bricks that in turn were wrapped in tiles to cover the holes. Here's a shot from the rear showing the storage tank and the mechanicals A concerned local citizen has noticed oil leaking from the well head. Here's the details of the step-down gear box that I built to slow the m-motor down to a point where the Nodding Donkey looked more natural and less like a bucking bronco. And finally a link to a short video of the machine in action. I placed the m-motor on the ground floor of my Downtown Museum/Noodle Shop and ran the long axle through the adjacent wall. https://flic.kr/p/qaZuhE I hope you like it and as usual comments, criticism and ridicule are most welcome!
  19. I came across this cute Lego project I wanted to share with you. I have the impression western themes in general are not so popular? This project is a bit more than just another western topic. What do you think of western themes? Are they in or out? As to my last thread concerning Goblin Fortress in Lego Ideas I agree with Kodan Black, Lord Dan and the_Cook. What are your comments on Lego Pueblo? I tried to make a screenshot of one of the pics for you. Hope the quality is good enough, if not, well you got the link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/74687 Cheers P.S. I found another interesting project in Lego Ideas which I would like to share with you. I am curious what you will say to that one. In time I will post.

    Modular Office MOC

I have been working on an office / apartment building to go with my official sets, and have got the main parts done. The ground floor has the main entrance with an office either side of the entry, and a central staircase going up to the two apartments on the first floor. Here is the street view Office_01 A high shot. Office_03 Mrs. Scratchen is going to live in one of the apartments and she is inspecting it along with her cat. This next photo below gives a hint of what one of the offices may be. Office_04 An overview of the ground floor. I will be fitting out the offices this weekend. Office_05 And here it is in the street next to the posh restaurant and the cool cinema. Office_02 This is my third attempt at a modular MOC and the first one I'm happy with (the other two have been demolished). I used a bunch of parts from 3 bike shop / cafe sets to get started with this, and the dark red bricks from that set was the inspiration for the colour scheme. Comments and criticisms are welcome. Thanks for taking a look.
  23. Hey, I'am working on a Lego train and my layout is fine. It's now time to add houses and so on. I already have Creator house 4956 and 4886. They look fine and size looks good. I plan to buy modular to create a small city. I would like to know how modular will looks side Creator house. I also see some modular-like : 31026 Bike Shop & Cafe. I'am searching for pictures with Creator houses, modular and those modular-like. I would like to know if size match and if they can be mixed. Perhaps I don't use the good words to google for picts but I did not found such pictures. I found a picture form this topic but the viewing angle did not help to compare. PS : Sorry for my poor English. It doesn't help to search...

    [MOC] Planet OSWION Expedition

A team of astronauts explore several planets to find new/unknown ores. The astronauts discovered a new planet, ‘’OSWION’’. They build a space station, which contains a Intergalactic Communications Tower, Planetary Observation Centre, a power plant, a research and observation compound, Landing platforms for spaceships. The astronuts build a monorail to transport the containers easily. The astronauts use their vehicles to explore the planet and dig ores and energy crystals. The space ships and vehicles are modular, you can easy rebuild them by swapping and combining the components. Every mission need it’s own vehicle. Some buildings, like the power plant and Intergalactic Communications Tower, are motorized by Power Functions. At the left side of the layout, a large portal is build to enter planet OSWION. The light in the protal is EL wire. It took 11 month's to build the layout. MOD: Pet^H^H^H Bike Shop

My First MO[CD] based on the Pet Shop that I did about 2 years ago. The Pet shop is my favorite modular and the only one I currently own more than one copy of. I built the brownstone as a mirror image and it is displayed next to the original.
