  1. Hello LEGO community. I am an avid LEGO collector as I'm sure all of you are. I wanted to ask opinions on my latest project that I have listed on Cuusoo. Has anyone got any tips in how to get my idea seen and whether or not you like the set? Please head over to the Cuusoo website and search for natural history museum. I look forward to all your feedback
  2. Hello everybody, I want to make a big Barbarian army, using the viking minifigs, and a big Roman army, using the CMF roman soldiers and the roman commanders. I don't have the roman soldier, but the commander 3 times, so a lot of soldiers would be nice. I have 27 vikings, I have all the sets except the chess set. My question is, where can I buy those minifigures for not that much, not bricklink or such a site, they don't work for me. I live in the Netherlands, so please no sites or shops from halfway across the world, the shipping prices are a bit too high . (Moderators, if this is not in the right place, please move it)
  3. Hello again! Today, I bring a very, very special review, one not yet seen here on Eurobricks! Set Name and Number: 8909 Team GB Collectible Minifigures Theme: Collectible Minifigures Release: July 2012 Pieces: 63 Minifigures: 9 Price: £1.99 Links: My flickr Introduction This set was introduced during July 2012, as a Europe-exclusive set, being a special set in recognition of the 2012 Olympics, held in London. Now, I come from the United States, and like many other people living in the United States, I bought these lovely minifigures off of eBay. Do note that each of the figures come with a special gold medal. I am providing pictures of the figures with their medals. If you are interested in seeing pictures of them without their medal, please visit my flickr page, linked above. Now, I think it is time to begin the review! The Packet and Checklist The front of the packet features all 9 of the figures, ready to face their opponents. It looks very nice, and I think it meshes together very well. Do note that there is no specific color, but a red, white, and blue packaging. These are the colors for the Great Britain team. The back of the packaging features a very lovely streak of red and blue, as well as the Team GB Lion near the top. I like the design, because that is a detail that is not normally seen. The pamphlet features all 9 of the figures, so you can see which ones you are trying to find, as well as some of their details. I overall think that it looks a lot nicer than the usual Collectible Minifigure pamphlets, because we usually don't get this kind of detail. The back of the pamphlet showcases everything included with the figures. I am pretty sure that the only thing not shown here is the printings. Once again, I love all of the extra details. The Minifigures 1.) The Agile Archer This archer is a very nice figure, he has a lot of special pieces, such as the bow in black, and my favorite piece, the Superman hair in dark orange. This figure also has a lot of detail, and not a lot of it is covered up by the medal, as well, which I am very happy with. Overall, I feel like this is my favorite of the collection. Here you get a better look at the torso, which is very nice and has the GB lion on its front. The pants are kind of strange with the white stripes down the side, but I don't mind it that much. This is a very strong figure and I am ecstatic to be able to own it. It will also be very nice to note the brand new Olympics Team GB display stand! It is very nice to see this piece being used in a new color, and the printing is very well done. 2. The Brawny Boxer This Boxer is overall a very nice figure. He has some cool details on the shorts, and I feel like the torso is a bit lacking, but I think he makes a nice addition to the group. Do note that the helmet will not fit entirely on the head with the medal being worn. Here, our Boxer meets the Series 5 Boxer. The one thing that frustrates me here is that the Boxer has almost the exact same head as the Series 5 one. Other than that, I think they look good together. When the pack is opened, we get a lovely blue helmet, that has the Team GB Lion on it. This is a great parts pack, especially if you're looking for some new colors for the boxing gloves. 3. The Flexible Gymnast Another one of my favorites this series, the Gymnast is a great addition. She has an incredibly beautiful leotard on with a once again, lovely, GB Lion on it. The face is wonderful too, I love to use it whenever I create minifigure characters. TLG was even nice enough to include a balance beam for us. Thoughts like these really make me smile! Another thing to note is the beautiful ponytail in blonde, which is one of the reasons I wanted these so much! 4. The Judo Fighter Another one of my favorites (Though I do karate, not Judo ), this Judo Fighter has a striking resemblance to the Series 2 Karate Master. Once again, we see the Lion. (I think they're on them all. ) We get back printing with the Judo Fighter, and we also get another Lion cameo! I do like this printing, it received a lot more attention than the Karate Master. Here is a comparison between the two. I like that they both have patches on their left side. Overall, I feel like the newer one is stronger. Especially on the legs. After the packet is opened, we see this. I love her confident expression, and it's nice to get the ponytail in another new color. (It was made in black with a magenta stripe in Series 6, but we have never seen one in just black. 5. The Tactical Tennis Player Another Tennis Player, really? Honestly, I feel like TLG is trying to take advantage of the Tennis Player, introducing parts and recoloring parts over and over. Here he is with his companions, the female is from Series 3, and the male is from Series 7. I really don't like this GB one, it looks really cheap to me. The best is the Series 3 one, IMHO. The main thing that bugs me here is the shirt (I feel like the colors kind of clash), and the sweat on the head. The sweat just looks an awful milky white. Not a very strong figure. 6. The Wondrous Weightlifter This figure is certainly not the best figure, but I don't feel that it is the worst, either. He does have some nice printing, though the legs have an orange-y look to them. Here is our weightlifter compared to his Series 2 counterpart. I feel like this one is a drastic improvement from its predecessor. The old on'es face reminded me of a person having trouble on the toilet. I prefer this newer one very, very much. There is nothing that is incredibly intriguing in this pack, but the face is cool (except for the sweat), and the weights are a nice new color. 7. The Relay Runner I love the relay runner. It reminds me of myself. I ran relay in middle school, and I have hair very similar to this. Another favorite. A very cute detail is that his number is 1948. That was the last year that London had hosted the games. I feel that this is one of the stronger figures of the series, well done, TLG. 8. The Stealth Swimmer Once again, we get a new swimmer! I like this swimmer, actually. I like the torso, but the water droplets bug me. They are a nice detail, though. The face is OK, but I feel like it may be a bit too generic. That's my opinion, though. Here is a picture of the side of the printed swimming cap. Here is our swimmer with his Series 7 counterpart. Perhaps she is from a different team? They look good together, I like them. The swimmer is a great figure, though it is not my favorite. Here are the parts, and a better view of the swim cap. I love, love, love that lion! 9. The Equestrian Rider OK, I feel like this figure is a great figure as well. She has so many details, such as the sash. I also love that the ponytail was included, because I didn't plan on buying Heartlake Stables. There is a better look at the beautiful coat, and I love the nice little scarf she is wearing, too. Here is a better look at her back. There is a hole in the back of her hat for inserting an accessory, but this figure comes with none. The hairpiece is from the Friends line, so there are a lot of different accessories that may attach to the hat. I'm not entirely sure why you would want to have a bow randomly sticking out of an equestrian helmet, but who cares? It's your choice, after all. One last thing of note is that she has printing on the inside of her legs. That is the first and currently only time to have happened, but I definitely hope to see it again. The Complete Set This composite Image shows all 9 figures together a little more clearly than the beginning picture. I feel as if the figures all mix together well to form a great team. What are your thoughts? The Verdict Design- 9/10 There are only a few figures that need work, but most of them are stellar! Parts- 8/10 I feel like there were maybe a few too many re-used parts, but so many parts that are exclusive make up for it. Price- 10/10 A great price for such exclusive figures. Playability- 9/10 The only thing needed is a set for them to compete on, and some competition. Total- 36/40 A very strong set overall. 90% total is very good for just minifigures Conclusion This set is definitely one worth getting. Even if you don't live in the UK, buy it. These are exclusives, and it would be a shame to miss out on it. The idea to make these figures was stunning. I would never have thought TLG would have made such figures, and it really paid off for TLG, as they became a very popular LEGO item, I would assume. These figures turned out to be very well executed, and I love each one, despite their flaws. These figures mix together so well as a team, and I'm honored to be able to hold my own complete Team GB minifigures due to the fact that I live in the USA. I am hoping that TLG makes these for the 2016 Olympics as well.

  5. Saw this at Smashing Bricks. DK is releasing a Minifigures Character Encyclopedia with Series 1-10 and an exlusive figure. It's due to release in May 2013, and I'm curious. What could this exclusive figure be?

    Customized Rohirrim Army

After getting several Uruk-hai Army sets I have started to notice my Rohan soldiers really starting to look way to similar and redundant. I tried using Eomer without his cape as a basic grunt and switching his helm/head/torso/legs with the Rohan archer, but this only allows for so many combinations and still they all have either the orange or light brown facial hair. Unlike with the Uruk-hai there just aren't that many possible combinations for Rohan soldiers atm unless you look outside the LotR line. Luckily they are a somewhat rag tag band so you can easily switch some pieces out and get a really distinct looking army that still feels very Rohan-esque. With that said, I am now turning to Bricklink to further customize my Rohan army. My question is what helms/heads/torsos/legs have people found to work really well as basic Rohan grunts? I would obviously prefer flesh color heads as those are what the rest of the LotR line is done in. I would also prefer the newer, really highly detailed pieces to better mesh with my exisiting LotR minifigures (no Harry Potter heads from 8 years ago please!). So, what can you guys come up with? I would prefer not to have to do any modding such as painting or cutting/modling. Even so, here are some great custom figures from General Magma to give you a general idea of what I am going for!
  7. Well, I said I'd post 'em, so here they is. All eleven incarnations of The Doctor, all purist, and all-most all totally 'fantastic!' Group shot, they all look quite brilliant together, wouldn't you say? First through Third Doctors, can't say I like this first period of Who stories, but there are quite a number who do. The Third Doctor's fairly good though. 1: By far my weakest design, but all the good torsos for him are from the Harry Potter line which I didn't collect. 2: This one is pretty cool, just wish the head had a bit more of a smile. 3: Uses too many Balin parts, but other than that it's fairly cool. Fourth through Sixth, Four has some nice stories, Five had terrible companions, and I haven't seen much of Six. Just barely enough to say he's not as bad as they say. Oh, and "Would you like a Jelly Baby?" 4: It's a fair design, but prints with scarfs are few and far between. This is one of the more mediocre figures in my opinion. 5: I like this one, but again, while it's not that accurate to his looks, it seems to capture the right essence. 6: Meh, an ok design for this doctor. That's pretty much the only torso for him, but the rest just seems too plain. Seven and Eight, Seven is cool. Eight only got the one movie, but delivered an entertaining performance nevertheless. Still, it was a 90's movie, so it's not that great. 7: Interesting design, love the head, but the torso is a bit off. Tried the umbrella as you can see, but can't say I like it. 8: I really like this design. The torso/leg set is amazing, and the head/hair combo looks great. And now to Modern Who, which is in my opinion, the best of the best. (Except 'Love and Monsters') Nine left way too soon, but was excellent, Ten was great, and Eleven is my favorite. 9: The leather jacket is perfect, but this is a fairly simple design. Probably should have used the normal Lex head, but that was tied up on a different minifigure. 10: Again, quite simple build, no rare parts or anything. Please don't ask why only he gets a Sonic. And if only Lego made an overcoat... 11: Yes, Fezzes are cool, and so are bowties. Can't say I love the hair and head, but they're the best choices out there. Yet again, a pre-existing torso is perfect. There you go! Questions and comments are welcome, thanks for looking! Sorry for the poor pictures, that's the best I can do with my webcam right now. 8. The Legion of Doom: Complete The Legion of Doom, from Challenge of the Super Friends created in Minifigure form. Gotta say this took months to put together; but it was well worth it! There’s a variety of Custom and Purist figures. Brainiac is a Custom Printed figure by Green Pea Toys. Names (From Left): Bottom: Solomon Grundy, Cheetah (Custom), Brainiac (Green Pea Toys), Lex Luthor, Scarecrow, Black Manta Middle: Giganta, Toyman, Riddler, Captain Cold (Custom) Top: Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro (Custom), Bizarro Custom Made Figures: Enjoy ~Nemo

  10. Hello, I want to build a huge fantasy era crownies army, but I do not know were to buy the minifigures. Does anyone of you know it? (please not bricklink, I tried that and it didn't work) Currently I have an army of 34 soldiers, I want at least 50, but I am hoping for 100 soldiers. I know, 100 soldiers is not that much, but I am happy with 100 soldiers. If anyone knows where I can buy them, please let me know. Thank you. I am hoping to get 100 of the soldiers in my photo.
  11. I would like to mention the second edition of The Star Wars LEGO Minifigure Catalog. This second edition includes all the 2012 Star Wars Minifigures and I am proud to have a photograph for every minifigure. The book also contains a new name index.
  12. I am in the process of building a medieval army, but can't decide which set(s) to get: either the Kingdoms Chess set or two Uruk-hai Army sets. I understand that the uruk-hai set probably will be of more value in the future when it is no longer in production because of its minifigures, but the Kingdoms set has a whopping 28 minifigures, basically a mini-army right out of the box! Perhaps I could get the chess set now and then wait for further Lotr releases (Battle at the Black Gate)? Any advice would be appreciated! :) Good luck to all others who are currently in the process of creating their own armies as well!

    Playground

Hello everyone, I have been trying to design my floor layout which consists of mostly city and modular sets (and some superhero sets) in digital designer. I've decided to create a playground spaning 4 32x32 green baseplates (grass) placed in a 2x2 area. So far I've created a slide but it won't go on top the baseplates or flat tiles. Does anyone have any ideas for other play equipment or how to put them into my layout. I've tried to attach a picture but its too large sorry Thank you

  15. Here's my entry for the "Forbidden Animal Planet Contest". So... King Parrot was tired of standing on Brickbeard's shoulder and it decided it was time to tell it to the captain. This is my first try of a "Caribbean Steampunk walking thing". In my mind it was really better than the actual result, but at least I qualified to enter the contest. Criticism, suggestion, flames and so on are welcome! I hope you'll enjoy it! [Higher res photos on my Flickr. See the signature for link]
  16. Hi everyone, Before I begin I would like to apologise as I said I would do a full arkham review. Unfortunately due to some things coming up I will not have tome to do so untill after christmas at least. But I have opened all the packets just so I could review the figures for you. If you would like any more pics please say.Enjoy .First off here is a little look at the figures on the box, Nothing unusual here but I wanted to show you anyway.1 001 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here they are in all there Lego'y glory. 1 002 by Joker 789, on Flickr Going in box order we start with Batman. He is of course the usual black suited batman but with his glider piece in black. Nothing too special but nice none the less.1 003 by Joker 789, on Flickr It is cool because you can now play out classic arkham city/asylum game scenes like this one- He has the usual back printing and reverse face. And he has the new moulded mask that i really like.1 004 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here he is with his opposite, They are both nice but I like the glider better in black. 001 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here he is with his non glider figure and the opposite colour glider batman. 002 by Joker 789, on Flickr Next we have Me, Yes the wounderful, Beautiful all round great Joker. And in my stylish new suit . I have taken a liking to the arkham suit as it is nicely detailed 003 by Joker 789, on Flickr It has my prision number on the back of 109370 (Arkhams set number with a 0 on the end), And the usual double sided face as seen on the previous joker. 005 by Joker 789, on Flickr Close up of my number. 1 009 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here is me alongside non prisoner Joker and 2008 Joker.1 010 by Joker 789, on Flickr Now I have some bad news. We have to move on to the waste of space known as robin . At least he is not as awful as before. He now has black legs, A black hood and a short cape, As seen on hobbit figures. 1 011 by Joker 789, on Flickr He is evedently based on the Arkham games interpritation of robin- He has the same back printing as before plus the same reverse head. Nothing else to say really.1 012 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here he is with his equally awful predocessor, They are both a waste of space and I would destroy them both to get a nightwing. 006 by Joker 789, on Flickr Moving on to a nicer figure we see the fantastic scarecrow, Possibly my favorite new figure and certanly a marvel to look at. Like Joker he is superbly detailed.1 014 by Joker 789, on Flickr I would like to give extra credit to the face design as it is absoloutely wounderful and could not be any better in my oppinion. 1 015 by Joker 789, on Flickr Not only is his face detailed but so is the back of his head. He has wounderful stitch marks all around. And his back is detailed too. 1 016 by Joker 789, on Flickr Though he looks even better with his old weapon- 1 017 by Joker 789, on Flickr I tried using the face for an Arkham Asylum stlye scarecrow, What do you think? 1 018 by Joker 789, on Flickr The face also works as a movie style figure mask- 1 019 by Joker 789, on Flickr Moving on we have the lovely poison ivy, Though she is a carryover she is still as great as ever. 1 020 by Joker 789, on Flickr She has the same back print and reverse head as before. 1 021 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here she is with my custom Ivy made from leftover batman 2006 parts. 1 022 by Joker 789, on Flickr Next we have a standard guard, He has left his bank job after the Two-Face incident and is now working at Arkham. 1 023 by Joker 789, on Flickr Boooring! No back print or reverse head. 007 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here he is with some other guards I made, I must admit I like the old guard body print better. 1 025 by Joker 789, on Flickr Now we come onto the only Unique figure of the set, Dr Harleen Quinzel. She looks absoloutely perfect and very well detailed. 1 026 by Joker 789, on Flickr She has full backprinting and a reverse head (Shown below) 1 027 by Joker 789, on Flickr As i'm sure you know Harleen Quinzel is really..... Harley Quinn! We see here that her other face is her harley face. The set also comes with her jester hat for when she is out of duisguise. 008 by Joker 789, on Flickr She has the same face print as harley from the funhouse, Dont they look great together . 1 029 by Joker 789, on Flickr Interestingly the new hat has a glossy finish while the old one was rough and not shiny? 1 030 by Joker 789, on Flickr Last but by no means least we have the Penguin, He is designed brilliantly and I fell instantly in love with the figure. He has the crafty expression you want on a figure. All the detailing is great and we get short legs in lilac! Horray 009 by Joker 789, on Flickr He also has nice simple backprinting and no reverse head (As it would show behind the hat). 010 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here he is with my custom penguin. 1 033 by Joker 789, on Flickr Here we have all the vilians of the set together. 1 034 by Joker 789, on Flickr And here are a few of the 2012/13 Batman vilians. 1 035 by Joker 789, on Flickr I hope you enjoyed reading the review as much as I enjoyed making it. Merry Christmas -Joker
  17. Okay. Before anyone starts hating because "Oh that's too much like Kenner and Hasbro, oh no!" that's not what this is. Each box/kit/whatever will include a building component. Although some elements may resemble each other, don't tell me I copied or anything. So what this is is boxes with individual figures AND BUILDING ELEMENTS (along with buildable display stands) from all six movies (e.g. Luke Skywalker), major video games (e.g. Revan) and comics (e.g. K'Kruhk), both Clone Wars series (Otua Blank), and any other major characters (Jaxxon, T'ra Saa). Minifigures released together in a wave can be grouped together to make groups that may be expanded on later in the series (e.g. Obi-Wan and Commander Cody are released in one wave, and the next wave has a 212th clone trooper). The minifigures will be made as effeciently as possible so that LEGO won't have to waste money on new molds. NOTE: I'M AWARE THAT THIS CUUSOO PROBABLY WON'T BE CHOSEN, BUT IT MAY GIVE LEGO AN IDEA FOR THE FUTURE I'll update with images, and additional info
