We’re looking for: Photographers with a good camera and a wide range of LEGO Pirate minifigures Image Editors with the skill to remove backgrounds from photos You can DO BOTH but you'll need to audition for both! Your rewards for helping: Access to an exclusive hidden forum in which you will be amongst the first to witness this revolutionary new forum skin! An acknowledgement - everybody's whose work is selected will be fully credited. If you're a professional you can even include your website URL and contact details. A commemorative tag - the more you quality images you contribute, the more valuable tag you receive. BUT BEWARE! We'll place a voodoo curse on anybody who contributes a substandard effort, and trust us when we say you don't want to be wearing that tag!Learn more about the tag benefits. How to audition Read the information below so you understand exactly what is required. Ask any questions you have in this thread. When you are ready to submit, please do so in the Special Project Auditions - Submissions thread. What we’re looking for… Minifigures from LEGO setsPirates, Soldiers (blue coats), Imperial Guards (red coats), Islanders (natives), Imperial Armada (conquistadors), Pirates II (released in 2009-2010) and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Custom MinifiguresThe Dutch, Portuguese, East India Trading Company, Colonisation of Central America, undead pirates, etc. Mesoamerican CivilisationsAztec, Maya, Inca, Olmec, Toltec, etc. What we’re NOT looking for… Sigfigs or avatarsit wouldn’t be fair to permanently feature somebody’s forum identity over others. 4+/Jackstone Pirates setsthose oversized pirates which were released in 2004. Although their accessories may work with standard SYSTEM Pirate minfigures. Pirates from outside the CaribbeanVikings, Space Pirates, Steampunk, Medieval Pirates, Barbary Corsairs, etc. Minfigs & Elements from Imitation/Counterfeit or Competing BrandsThe minifigures and pieces you use MUST be authentic LEGO, with the exception of elements from custom LEGO manufacturers such Brickarms, Brickforge, Citizen Brick, etc. These are acceptable. The blasted Rules The photography must be decent! We will NOT accept low resolution images nor include images which contain artefacts (graininess), aliasing (jagged edges), chromatic aberration (colour fringing), focal defects (blurriness), mismatched impedance (ghosting), oversaturation or any noticeable visual distortion. The image editing must be decent! We will not accept images if the background hasn't been cleanly removed. Each minifigure and any accessories must have a smooth edge with no obvious trace of the background remaining. DO NOT use Microsoft Paint! Edited Images MUST HAVE alpha transparencyThe background must be transparent in PNG format with an 8 bit alpha channel. NO transparent GIFs will be accepted! The minifigure/LEGO elements MUST be shown entirely within the photoPlease do not submit photos with minifigures/elements which cannot be fully seen. E.g. peaking in from the side or from the waist up. If they were to be added to the banner, whatever part(s) aren't visible would simply look cut off in the banner. The minfigure(s) must isolated against a neutral coloured backgroundBackgrounds with multiple colours can be a lot more challenging to edit. The background will need to be manually removed and this is much easier if it contrasts with the minifgure and is a constant colour. You may however, remove the background yourself, but be sure to save the image as a 32bit PNG file to ensure it retains its transparency. No lighting techniques or harsh shadowsPlease photograph your minfigure(s) in consistent lighting. No watermarks, logos, signatures or other brandingPlease ensure your photos are free from visual distractions. No Background Spill“Spill” is the term used in film and photography when a background colour reflects onto a foreground element. For example: a minifigure photographed against a blue background has traces of blue along its boundary. No flash highlights These are when the flash reflects off the minifigure causing white highlights or shines. Nothing too crude or offensive!Keep your minifigure’s anitcs clever and tactful. Our decision is finalWe decide which minifigures and edited images will appear in the skin and how they will be arranged. Acknowledgement Everybody who contributes minifigure photography will receive an acknowledgement in Announcement Thread when the skin is complete. Upon request additional information can be included such your website, Deviant Art account, Facebook Page or other contact details. Agreement By submitting photos you've taken or images you've edited you grant us permission to use them in anyway we see fit (relating to the Forum Skin), for an indefinite period of time without compensation, remuneration or reward.
  4. Hi guys, I know some of you are planning on getting two Black Gate sets to make the full gate. While I would love to do this myself, I want Orthanc much worse and wouldn't have a place to display the gate. I was hoping I might be able to work something out with one of you that would be mutually beneficial. I would be happy to buy all of the figures, just Aragorn, the Mouth and the Eagle or something in between. Due to the difference in retail prices an exchange rates as well as shipping costs, I think it would be best to trade within the US. If you are planning on getting two gates and would like to unload the extra figures all at once please send me a PM. Thanks, Str0ngbad
  5. "You are cleared for contact." — SEAL Team Six announcer when beginning match. From left to right: Downhill Merc, Urban Merc, SEAL Team Six operator and Mike Harper Characters based on this one game called Call Of Duty, you might've heard of it it's pretty popular. This is actually the first decals I've made in 18 months, I used to be an avid customizer for so long put fell out on it for over a entire year for some reason, but I'm getting back there! As for the figs, the decals are based on uniforms from the multiplayer factions, I did all I could to make them as accurate as possible, I even had to dub down on the details several times in order to make them look even remotely lego-like! That is all, for now.
  6. Growing up in the 80's I discovered a new comic called "The Punisher" a story about a man out for revenge. Later on I discovered that he debuted in Spiderman ~129 in 1974! Two whole years before I was born. I've been hooked on his adventures ever since. Over the years Frank Castle has been through a lot of changes, some stories were gritty and tense others like Punisher Angel were frankly dumb. To be honest though I loved them all! Punisher Captain America - Marvel teased the Punisher as the new cap when Steve Rogers took a dive. FrankenCastle - When Daken beat Frank and cut off both his arms and head most people thought it was the end for the Punisher, however Morbius and the Legion of Monsters had other ideas. The Punisher - This is pretty much how I see the Punisher in my head, without his 70's costume and tooled uo! Punisher Noir - From the Marvel Noir series. The Mask was a nice touch. 1930's Frank avenges his Fathers death! Punisher Angel - Not at all what you might think! having committed suicide, Frank is given a second chance by his Rubbish Guardian Angel Gadriel who failed to save his family. Gifted supernatural powers and the greatest weapons of Heaven, Frank sets out on a mission from God for a bit... then decides he'd rather just keep doing things his way...

  8. Hello, I want to build a huge fantasy era crownies army, but I do not know were to buy the minifigures. Does anyone of you know it? (please not bricklink, I tried that and it didn't work) Currently I have an army of 34 soldiers, I want at least 50, but I am hoping for 100 soldiers. I know, 100 soldiers is not that much, but I am happy with 100 soldiers. If anyone knows where I can buy them, please let me know. Thank you. I am hoping to get 100 of the soldiers in my photo.
  9. While visiting one of my favorite haunts in my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia a couple of months ago, I asked myself, "why don't you MOC this?" After all, it's a smallish corner building, and it has some very unique and iconic design elements. So, I decided to give it a whirl. And within a matter of hours, I already had a basic outline of what I was doing. Here's a picture of the real thing, the Vortex Bar & Grill in Little Five Points: I knew the skull facade was going to be the make-or-break part of the MOC, so I decided to work on that first. And it took a few rounds of trial and error before I found something I liked. I did have to take some liberties to make it work in brick and keep it recognizable, but overall, I found myself happy with the build. So, here's some shots of the outside: Little Five Points was originally built as the commercial district of the Inman Park and Candler Park neighborhoods in the Eastern part of Atlanta. In the last few decades, it has become a center for bohemian lifestyles and subcultures. The neighborhood is filled with music stores, head shops, alternative fashion boutiques, and a variety of restaurants and bars. The Vortex's unique entryway makes it instantly recognizable in the heart of the neighborhood. Here are some of the folks you might be likely to see standing outside on a nice Spring afternoon: While the exterior was going to be an important thing to get right, the interior was another level altogether. The Vortex is filled with chotchkies, bric-a-brac, trinkets, and what-have-you, and there are some definite design elements that couldn't be passed over, even when scaling the building down to fit the Modular standard. The bar area, seen above, lifts out so that you can see the details behind the bar. The light brick which illuminated the bottles is activated by a button below the vent hood on the outside of the bar. Here is an exploded view of the whole building: And here's your cast and crew, thanking you for stopping by to look at my pics: You can find more pics of my creation in my Brickshelf or Flickr pages.
  10. Hello all. I'm looking for several LOTR and The Hobbit figures, so continue to see what I'm looking for and what I may have for you. Haves I'm willing to trade several SW figures. This includes clone troopers (Clone Wars (maybe but doubtfully commanders too), ep3 clones (2007 versions), and NEGOTIABLE stormtroopers (2007 versions). Maybe some Jedi, Ewoks, etc, stuff like that. Anything else depends on your wants, though the stuff above should be up for trade. I've got multiples of most of the stuff, and I may have some collectible minifigures. Note: Spiderman is gone. Still have an old Doc Ock figure (Hideout set) in sand green clothing, which I'd have to put together first. Wants Here's a list of the LOTR/Hobbit figurunes I'm looking for: [AMAP] = As Many As Possible * Must come with originally included weapon LOTR Rohan Soldier* - AMAP Éomer* - Several - (Loose helmets, legs, torsos and/or green capes are welcome too) Uruk-hai* (Breastplate) - AMAP Uruk-hai* (Breastplate, White Hand) - AMAP Uruk-hai* (hair) - A few Uruk-hai Berserker - AMAP Ringwraith* - x9 Mordor Orc (preferably w/hair) - AMAP Moria Orc - AMAP Merry - x1 Frodo (green cape) - x1 Brown Horse - AMAP Ringwraith Horse - x9 The Hobbit If you trade figs from a certain set, I prefer to have all the figs from that set, otherwise if I can't find the remaining ones I might have to get the set and I don't want duplicates unless they're generic figs like goblins. Probably don't need Gandalf. Building without Bricks

[Moderators, I couldn't figure out if I should make this topic here or for the Minifig Customisation Workshop or for Brick Flicks and Comics or somewhere else completely. Could you please point me in the right direction?] I love building, I love making MoCs, but I also love using art for a LEGO experience. This can be simply be sketches of LEGO characters, this can be early development and planning for something bigger, and this can also be for advertisements and designs. Throughout my years I used LEGO more than simply building with; I used it as a driving force for a lot of my art. And simply, I wanted to share some of my work that is LEGO driven but not constructed, a MoC built through pencil and paper I suppose [Development work] [some early high school art, designed as a screen print T-shirt but was shot down by the school before it could be printed. Ack! That typography is awful too!] [Advertisements for a college course] [Pencil Work for a Project]

    Areani Knights

Hey guys! Here are some custom figures I created a little while ago. I used quite a few Brickwarriors and BrickForge parts. Here's the story I wrote for them... The Order of Areani was founded long time ago, after King Alphundus was killed, and the three brothers split the kingdom. Prince Lorean feared the fate of his father, so he formed a special band of knights, called the Areani. These men swore to protect the prince from any danger that might threaten him. The present Order is rather numerous and wields great power within Roawia. The duties of the members are now more varied as well. and the Order's influence and power continue to expand. They field elite cohorts for the Loreesi armies, and did great service during the first swamp campaign. Fear the Order! For the Glory of Loreos!!! ____________________ The standard outfit and equipment for the members of the Areani. Wielding straight swords and round shields, their simplistic weapons hold a nasty surprise for those who would turn their backs on justice, and more importantly, on the Prince of Loreos. Their armor is perfectly designed to allow full freedom of movement, meaning they can run and fight with perfect agility and ease. Their training is the best imaginable to the point where complex maneuvers are instinctive. Whether it be the top of the highest cathedral, or the deepest darkest swamp, they know where you are. Desert scouts are the snipers, rangers, and special forces of the Order. Wielding composite bows and a variety of curved swords, javelins, and other weapons, their more unique tactics complement perfectly the Standard Areani Knights on their various missions abroad. Thanks For viewing, and have a great day!
