  1. Every flourishing town needs its backyard providing the food and other necessities. Couple miles upstream by the Green creek lies a the one feeding the Hilto. Small hill provides a good enough location for defence and as a bonus great view to the lake. Food itself is not a big concern for the town yet, as the island waters are rich on fish shoals and crabs but the growing industry needs some raw materials to work with. After couple mishaps with the varieties from Mokolei villagers gave up for a while and purchased the seedlings of the most popular strains in Prio sea and they finally started to spur. Fruit orchards are almost ready to ripe too. The fruit will add nice touch to available food palette and when fully grown they can be added to shisha tobacco for flavours. The future is bright on Sabre island! The town itself consist of couple cottages and sheds around small square dominated by the mosque of Eternal Flame and the home of mayor / local headquarters of the tobacco company. Couple levies and little more digging created a moat around the village to ease villagers ease with irrigation of ever hungry tobacco crops.
  2. Angus Ferriman won the sloop "The Pointed Dingleweed" in a game of cards. He got some pushback from his new crew on the name, so he changed it to "The Naughty Nougat". They liked that better. --------- Here's my micro ship class 3 earned as a prize during Challenge IV: Rebuilding Terraversa Wanted to try a ship on the new nougat hulls Trying to find more uses for my bazillion muskets. [Freebuild] Quietude

Quietude “Close your eyes for a moment and cherish the dark. Can you feel the warmth of the sun? Can you feel the gentle touch of the blowing wind? Can you feel the waves moving up and down, washing the sand and taking away all your worries? With eyes closed, stare into the horizon. Embrace your past and face your future. Know that what is done cannot be changed, only accepted. And what lays beyond is your destiny, waiting to be written. One step. One stone at a time. What do you see?” “I see a little farm. Pine trees in a distance. Apples and cherries as well. Horses galloping free. I see water. Running, falling, washing the land anew. I see a thin breath of air swirling up, dancing out of a chimney. The air smells of rosemary bread. I can hear the bells ringing with the stroll of a cow. Feels like home. And I cannot wait to go inside. Someone is expecting me. Someone I have missed for so, so long. I open the door. There is a woman by the heath, curled in a wool blanket. Next to her, a furry thing coiled like a pretzel. “Is it a chicken?” “No! It’s a dog!” “Aw. Who is she?” “The most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” Her big brown eyes glistened, reflecting the world painted gold. Staring at me, I saw beyond every mountain and every sea. I saw the future I would pursue with every heartbeat. Louis of Nutwood __________ Summer Joust, Category 12x12 Hope you like it. Skol!
  4. George Lucas founded Lucasfirms in 1971 and it had created one of the most beloved franchise in the history of entertainment and toys. Fast-forward, and it is the year 2021 -- the year Lucasfilms celebrates its 50th anniversary. So naturally, there has to be a 50th anniversary Star Wars products. This is a nice little gift that would come along with it... Thanks for TLG and Jim to making this review possible. Now let's jump into my 34th RA review, 40451 Tatooine Homestead. Overview Name: 40451 - Tatooine Homestead Theme: Star Wars / Promotional Year: 2021 (1H) Pieces: 234 pieces Minifigures: 0 Price: FREE Gift with Purchase (GWP) -- Qualifying purchase: $85 / €85 / £85 threshold for all Star Wars purchases The promotion would run from 1st May to 5th May 2021. Do check with your local shops for details. Introduction So right off the bat, this is not a set for sale. It is a gift with purchase which you can get from qualifying amount of Star Wars sets purchase as written in the overview section above. Its packaging looks about the same as the other vignette promotional sets released so far. Let's check the details. Front view Front side of the box pretty much over everything it has to show, including the sand of Tatooine, which is coarse and rough, and irritating ...and we all know how the line goes on as Anakin complains. This is the first time that we actually see Luke's childhood home in microscale. If you revisit what was released back in 1999, most of the Tatooine references are just vehicles. There's Landspeeder, Podracers, Desert Skiff, Droid Escape Pod, Watto's Junkyard and so on. There is nothing about Owen and Beru until the Sandcrawler came out in 2014 (actually 2005 as pointed in later in the comments) -- but only with special appearance of Owen Lars trading with the Jawas. Unfortunately, aunt Beru is still missing in action. Back view At the back of the box, we can see how the memorable scene is depicted as it is in the set, with stills from the movie as reference. Those round studs are representing the characters present in that scene. Let's see if you can figure out who is who later Side view Pretty standard side view with that single piece for 1:1 ratio picture. Perhaps that done is chosen to remind us that it represent the actual homestead in Tatooine. Now let's slowly see what's inside. I really like the way this opens like IDEAS set even if it is only a promotional set. Don't you wish all sets open this way? What's inside the box? We get 4 clear plastics bags without any number and an instruction booklet. Build I enjoyed arranging the parts this way... simply because I have nothing else better to do. Right? Right. Just want to appreciate the tan colour this way... there are really great parts included here. Slopes, slopes.... SLOPES! Putting them together.. So, when you build this set, it appears that you are building it sideways. Then, as I complete sections of the build, indeed, I am building sideways. You can see how the SNOT techniques are used to squeeze the centre piece in between the left and right side of the vignette. And as you put the sub-assemblies together, they fit nicely together. And so, it looks like this at the end -- So from this view, let me try discerning who is who. From left to right. The single piece brown studs are obviously the Jawas, so... white stud on top and dark tan bottom - Luke. two-layer gold studs - C-3PO (obviously) silver stud - R2-D2 tan top and dark brown bottom - Lars Then, at the centre of the build you'll see a medium azure stud on top of a dark orange stud. Guess who is it... That is aunt Beru! Aunt Beru appeared in this microbuild set... but only as 2 studs.... Next to them is the cute build of Sandcrawler which is very "playable" on its own because it sports 4 black roller skates as continuous track wheels. Apart from the skates, one of the notable part usage in this microscale is the use of white lipstick as one of the towering moisture vapourators. Also, not forgetting that this set includes a 2x4 black tile with "Star Wars 2021" printed on it. This side is the not so camera-friendly side of the build. Here is another angle to appreciate the smoothness of this build. Now for the extra pieces, this is what you are left with after completing the entire build... and it's pretty generous for the amount of small pieces here. Conclusion Pros: Very iconic scene preserved in a vignette display set. Tan parts! Printed 2x4 tile "Star Wars 2021" Cons: Generally not for sale, unless you get this "ala carte" somewhere else. Aunt Beru only appeared as 2 studs! So as I ponder on who this set is for, it is hard not to think who this set is NOT for. You see, this is the first scene where Luke, C-3PO and R2-D2 actually bumped into each other, and they stuck to each other for a really long time. Not only it is an iconic scene, it is also very nostalgic. So, for what it is -- every Star Wars fan should be able to appreciate this in one way or another. I can't think of anything negative for this set except the silly reasons I have written as "cons". But then again, we do not have Aunt Beru minifigure yet, so we may have to wait for quite sometime before we finally get a system scale Lars homestead with those "missing minifigures". For now, enjoy this microbuild. Review summary Playability: 5/10 - This little vignette isn't meant to be played but the Sandcrawler is so cute to play with! Design / Building Experience: 7/10 - Very satisfactory build for what it is supposed to be. Slopes are everywhere and it's tan so it's insta-like for me. Price / Value for money: 10/10 - If you get this as a gift with purchase, this is naturally a perfect 10. Overall: 7/10 - It is a cute small vignette that all Star Wars fans should be able to appreciate.
  5. With the whole island to themselves, the new settlers on Panarium could choose the location they wanted to call home. Artemis Granger found a small sheltered hamlet just to the southeast of Wullham that looked good to him. He could see out off the headlands to the New Haven Sea, and if he climbed up the steep hill behind his house, he could see a mysterious interior mountain off in the distance. A rainstorm was headed his way, so he took shelter in his whitewashed cottage. Microbuild prize for 3rd Place Faction in The Battle for El Oleonda - Era II, Challenge III To be licensed as a small residence in Wullham OOC: My first microbuild! Since Wullham is still new, wanted to try to capture some of the landscape here for others to reference: grass coming down to sand at beach, hills and highlands, and some interior mountains! House is again a whitewashed cottage with a thatched roof. Wanted to try a SNOT tile/plate ocean to keep the color variation without it being too chunky. Left the 1x1 plates off the end of the ocean rows to give it a feeling of motion
  6. An elementary school in Astrapi, one of the free licenses we've won at challenge 5, to be licensed as a small education. Vive le Roi!
  7. Elise, Oleon granted me permission to purchase a large plot of land in Fatu Hiva to build a factory. We're expanding our rum business further, out amongst the white sands of Fatu Hiva. Yes, I know, sugarcane isn't growing there and we'll need to import it, but the land was purchased at a good price. This should bring in increased revenue for us. Hopefully Terraversa will have a good amount of cane for us to begin importing. Emile This is my first microbuild, and I think it turned out somewhat decent. I really tried to keep to the lore established for Fatu Hiva, but Emile has to continue to expand his alcohol business.
  8. A Doctor for the refugees in Puerto Desafio Since the end of the Eslando-Mardieran war on Isla de Victoria, many refugees from the ancient Mardieran colonies went to find help in the controled areas of Eslandola new territory. Eslandola is welcoming all the war victims what ever be their past. Even the former soldiers of the Mardieran Army are welcome to settle in the new Puerto Desafio colony ! And to provide the basic first aid and health support for all this growing population, a Doctor was needed ! It is Doctor Ayuda, graduated in the Great Medical University of Nova Terrelli, who decided to answer to this need. He managed to save an ancient mardieran house from destruction near the quays of Puerto Desafio to open a Hospital in order to welcome the refugees. This build will be licensed as a Medium Artisan in Puerto Desafio in order to use my reward in the Challenge V. Of course C&Cs are welcome.

    A micro Minas Tirith

First, I apologize if my english isn't good, I'm french. So, I made a little building with LDD, a mini reconstitution of Minas Tirith. It can be interesting to have that kind of little building in a LOTR fan's collection, because if you buy the parts of the model from Pick a brick, you can have it for less than 25 dollars, which is cheap for Minas Tirith. I give you the LDD fileMinas tirith.lxflist and a screenshot. Thank you for your consideration, I hope you'll like my first LDD building. Wow ! sorry for the page's organisation...

PM me if you have a build that you'd like to show in the GoH Advent Calendar. Original Post: So today I was helping my son rebuild his 2011 Star Wars Advent Calendar, and then build some new random microscale starships of his own design to add to them, and I thought: we should have a Guilds of Historica Advent Calendar build! It could have GoH microscale builds of buildings, vignettes, vehicles, and creatures, as well as perhaps a few unusual, custom minifigures that fit with GoH. So I'm going to kick it off with two little builds he and I did today. I'll try to add some more, but everyone feel free to chip in and add your own, and I'll update the first post with everyone's pictures and short descriptions.
