  1. After losing his big flagship, Captain Rijsk adapted to a new plan. Some small fishing vessels who were easily manouvrable. The Mardierians came once a day in the afternoon with a bigger vessel to exchange the Tuna for instant cash. So after some succesfull hours catching fish, he was very happy to see the Tuna King on the horizon. He gave orders to his second vessel to put the caught tuna in the baskets of his vessel and he waited till the Tuna King arrived. Once the captain of the Tuna King examined the Tuna and all that delicious fish was transferred, Captain Rijsk dared to ask for his money. "De Money? Ofcourse! My soldiers will bring de money to u! Guards!" The excitement of Captain Rijsk quickly ebbed away when he noticed the purple uniforms of Prio Soldiers, green uniforms of Eslandola soldiers and red uniforms of the Garvey soldiers. The well-trained guards quickly surrounded everyone, forcing them to swim back home. It is said that Captain Rijsk, after loosing his second hand in the previous encounter, lost his second leg in this encounter. Still he was eager to buy a new vessel to keep fishing. What a hero/idiot! The Tuna King, a captured Mardier vessel that belongs to MAESTRO and which was lent out to a Garvey Privateer, returned back to Trador to sell their wares. The first steps of the Trador Tuna Imperium was taken :) Some overal pictures are forgotten, I'll take some in one hour and post it here. I already removed the waves and water as it is part of a Pirate lay-out at Brickmania Wetteren :)
  2. Ahoy, mateys! Here's my Challenge V - Category C entry. Witness the return of the Colonial MinionsTM *evil laughter in the background* Don't Tread on Meeeee!! After their unsuccessful attack on the Marderian fortress of El Peñón, the remaining Eslandian Black Bats were ordered to refresh and regroup on the Southern shores of the Isla de Medio - away from the awful fighting. Unfortunately, no place is really safe from the mayhem those dreadful Colonial MinionsTM are capable of spreading wherever they happen to show up. And as it so happened, they did. Of all the places in the Brick Seas it had to be here. Exactly now. And the camp the Eslandians had set up was right in their way. Well, actually, more in the pathway their latest pet decided to take... Seemingly a fish in a wet suit. What exactly it is and where they got it from, no-one really knows. One thing is for sure, though - it's ridiculous in every aspect. And yet terrifying enough to turn the feared Eslandian crack troops into a bunch of screaming chickens as they are trying to escape the incomprehensible menace that's coming down on them... About: I absolutely wanted to mobilize the Minions for this category, there was just too much potential here to forgo this opportunity The idea for the 'monster' is based on the Futurama reverse scuba suit - ridiculous enough to be translated into bricks. As usual, all can be built - and maybe I'm going to build this land fish thingy for real... a friend of mine said it'd be a worthy decorative object for her flat... well... I hope you enjoyed this latest chapter in the Menacing Minions Book. C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
  3. (Against Mardier) Prelude Part 1 (Bregir) Part 2 (Elostirion) Part 3 (Ayrlego) After fleeing the Grape and Goblet, the young lovers, Ricardo Alphonso de la Montague and Angelica Castellano, found themselves hiding in a closed tavern in one of the older sections of the town. Here they waited for their shadowy guardian, whose timely intervention had saved them from the Death Guard just a short time ago. They didn’t have to wait long. Marja Fontonajo had easily evaded the death guard, who after all weren’t looking for the experienced Eslandolan agent. She silently entered the tavern without the lovers noticing. Ricardo was pacing anxiously, his hand on the hilt of his elegant rapier. Angelica sat quietly at the bar, slightly pale, but otherwise calm. “….we don’t even know who she was… why should we trust her, we should go to my father immediately” argued Ricardo. Angelica, however was more thoughtful. “If she meant us harm, then why would she warn us, why would she have shot that soldier?” At this point Marja delicately cleared her throat. “I am indeed a friend Ricardo, your father asked me to look out for you, although I doubt he expected things to get quite so out of hand.” “Who are you? Why would my father ask for your help” replied Ricardo hotly, spinning around and half drawing the rapier. Marja ignored his aggression. “It is probably not wise you know my name” she replied, “Now listen carefully. You both need to leave Terraversa immediately… No wait, and hear me out” she exclaimed forcibly as Ricardo went to object again. “It is clear now that Angelica’s family can never allow your union. The soldiers at the tavern were King Alphonso’s own Death Guard. You young fools are caught up in something far bigger than yourselves. The civil war is coming to Terraversa, and you are but pawns to be used and disposed of as the powerful jockey to gain advantages.” The room was quiet as the couple began to realise their true situation. “It was unfortunate I was forced to kill that Death Guard. Now your father will have no excuse but to call out the regular army and militia to search for you. Alphonso’s agents are already claiming that you have been abducted. Now with one of the King’s guardsmen dead, the whole city will soon be after you.” Angelica pensively looked up. Sadly she whispered “It is true… My father would never have agreed to our match, but he would have eventually accepted it… Now he will have no choice…” words escaped her. It was a calmer and more determined Ricardo who picked up the conversation. “So, if you are our guardian, what do you suggest now? If it means saving Angelica, I shall turn myself in” he announced. “No!” exclaimed Angelica. “You shall not be safe here long. I know of a ship currently in the port, due to leave tomorrow. Her captain owes me a favour or two. He should be able to get you out, and once on the high seas you will have to trust luck or whatever gods to whom you pray to decide your fate. The captain is a good man, an experienced Corlander. If anyone can get you away, it will be him. I shall write you a letter of introduction” “You won’t be coming with us?” asked Angelica. “Maybe, but if so I will join the ship later. I feel a diversion may be required to keep the soldiers away from the docks.” Ricardo asked the obvious question, “How will we make it to the docks with the army against us?” he asked. “Ah, that is the beauty of this inn” smiled Marja. “I hope you don’t mind getting dirty. You see, it is a little known fact that King’s Port is built on a catacomb of natural caves and tunnels, and that over the years these have been extended and enlarged by everyone from plumbers to smugglers. In fact this tavern is actually owned by the same business interests that own the ship I would have you escape on, and it just so happens that a secret tunnel connects this tavern to the catacombs which will lead you to the port.” And so the lovers found themselves fleeing a second tavern for the day. Again following precise instructions from their saviour, but this time through the gloomy tunnels beneath the busy streets. Above them, soldiers went from door to door, scouring the city.
  4. It was the talk of the town the last couple of weeks. Princess Sofiana, a niece of King Alphonso of Mardier, was about to marry with Captain Emilson. Captain Emilson was a son of a wealthy family in Mardier and owner of a private fleet. By giving the hand of Lady Sofiana, King Alphonso hoped to led Captain Emilson join his war against Eslandola. As a wedding gift, the Emilson Family received no less than 1000 doubloons from Mardier! The wedding itself was a big succes. All noblemen from KP were invited, even the rebels. After a long day, the newly wed couple went to their suit in the Royal Horse Inn in KP. It was a very quiet night. A few strangers walking on the street, minding their own business or trying to arrive at home on time in order to avoid an unhappy wife. The doors of the Royal Horse already closed. And inside, only the barman and a musician were spotted. A very quiet night indeed. The couple slept very well, knowing a royal Mardierian Guard was well erm guarding the balcony. What no-one knew, was that an assassin prepared the perfect murder for weeks... Very smoothly he managed to remove some wooden planks he made loose in the past so he had access to the room without anyone noticing him. Once arriving at the bed, he choked the unfortunate lady. Smooth, quickly and without any sound. A bit later, Captain Emilson woke up, discovering his wife to be dead. He yielded, drawing the attention of the Royal Guard. As there was no way someone could have entered the room. The guard quickly determined 1 and 1 should be 2 and he arrested Captain Emilson for the murder on his wife. The fact that Captain Emilson had a reputation of liking SM, wasn't helping the poor guy... Aftermath: Captain Emilson was found guilty of murder. His last words were: "it wasn't me". His brother took command over his fleet and sailed away from KP under a Pirate Flag, having sworn to avenge his brother. Mardierian traders are his favourite prey. ------- Thanks for watching! C&C welcome!
  5. Here is my entry to Challenge V, category A, supporting Mardier. It’s great to be back building for Brethren of the Brick Seas! Disclaimer: No official LEGO string was harmed during the making of this MOC. In the current turmoil the Viceroy’s daughter Esmeralda would be a very good match for any power wishing to increase their influence over Terraversa. Cornelio is a young nobleman from Eslandola and has been sent to Terraversa to win the hand of Esmeralda. Proposal in King’s Port His tireless courting of the young lady has borne fruit and when he now proposes to her she happily accepts. Things are looking good for both Cornelio and Eslandola! Suitor So far it’s the happiest day of her life Everyone is not happy with this arrangement however, agents of the Marderian King Alphonse are doing their best to stop it. An assassin has found a way to strike and make it look like an accident… Assassin from the Marderian King Alphonse’s Death Guard While people are gathering around the unfortunate suitor, the assassin easily got away. The end of a love story… The building itself was inspired by 17th century houses in Amsterdam, particularly the high and narrow shape and a beam to raise goods up into the attic. Without minifigs. Without minifigs. Bonus shot: 100 % crop of the ring from the closeup shot of the suitor above, to test the ability of my new macro lens, fairly good effective resolution? And I think the builder himself is slightly visible behind the camera too
  6. Emile received a letter to go sail from Eltina and meet along the coast. Anchoring The Athena, he set out with Gilbert, Henri, and Jean to meet the mysterious man. A man from Mardier. With a chest. "I can see why you wanted to meet outside of the town," Emile told the man as he approached. "Fancy piece of armor you have there, Master...?" "Ambassador is fine," the man replied. "And it helps prtoect me. Never know when you'll deal with a pirate." "I'll venture to guess 'Ambassador' is not your actual title." Emile Perreault adjusted the sword at his side. "Former pirate, mind you." "Is that not what you are doing for Oleon now? Just a different title?" he questioned through his accent. "You could say that. Open the chest." The Ambassador obliged. Emile peaked inside, scanning the contents. The captain continued, "All this for me and my crew? To do what I'm supposed to for my country?" "Think of it as a bonus, Captain Perreault." Emile looked back in the chest. With his foot, he closed the lid. "I don't like them the same as you. But being caught taking money from a foreign power? That's likely to bite me in the rear, Ambassador. I'll stick with my pay from Oleon and the hauls my men and I bring in." He took a step back. Then another. He motioned to his men to turn the rowboat around and return to the ship.

  9. The MAESTRO's famous apple cider (produced by Felipe de la Manzana), has always been one of the favourite drinks of many soldiers. The Cider Shop in Breshaun is one of the most popular hot spots in that city. Due to the recent war between Eslandola and Mardier, the apple cider became a forbidden product for Mardierian soldiers. The past three years, La Sombra has been a smuggling paradise. But since the Eslandolan troops recently arrived on the island, the smuggling spots have been taken over by MAESTRO. For the smugglers, not much changed, except for the kinda products they are smuggling. The best fortified smuggling cabin became the temporary headquarter of MAESTRO on La Sombra. The whole smuggling paradise, would become the very popular "Smuggling Bay" where the ships nowadays anchor in front of Trador. These types of canoes are very popular by the smugglers. They are very fast, but still stable and they can transport a lot of goods. Although the job of smuggling can be very dangerous due the pointy rocks around La Sombra, and many smuggler have found their grave in those waters. However, a succesfull smuggling run, results in huge profits, which makes it worth the risk.... The temporary headquarters of MAESTRO on La Sombra, located at Trador ---- Thanks for reading! This will be licenced as a medium commerce (as the canoe itself will not be licenced as a ship)
  10. October 14th, 616 To the citizens of the Brick Seas. The maroons of Eslandola have not removed themselves from La Isla de Medio by this choice, the King of Mardier, recognizes that his empire is now at war with the lesser nation of Eslandola. In this regard, all Mardier Ports are closed to Eslandolan flagged vessels. All Eslandolan vessels are considered legal prizes to a Mardieran Vessel. All Eslandolan settlements on the mainland and in the Far Seas are now legal targets of our military and naval forces, and extended forces. In this vein, His Majesty, King Alphonse XIII issues a letter of mark to all willing participants. The letter states that the captain may attack Eslandola’s vessels of all nature in the name of Mardier. This will be considered a lawful prize to all courts in all nations, as Mardier and Eslandola are at war. Along with this letter of marque, the king offers a generous reward for every Eslandolan vessel taken or sunk in the conflict. Captains may keep the vessel, with a clear title for 15% of the value of the treasure on board. Any war Eslandolan Warship taken or destroyed will also merit the victor 100 gold doubloons. Apply to your nearest consulate for a copy of this letter. Sincerely Count Adwin Encarnacion Minister of the Colonies of Mardier To get a Letter of Marque, either sign your name to this thread, or if you are the more secretive type -- send me a PM. Also, Sea Rats, there is a bonus for your warriors of the sea if you use a letter of marque from ESL or MAR in this next MRCA. You will receive double crew on your ships for free!
  11. Due to recent misguidances about geography and the power of the Great Old Empire, the Empire of Mardier. This thread is for the colony of La Isla de Medio, known by the name of Skaford Heights or Island 11. It has come to note that this colony is much older than many of the colonies in the Sea of Prio area. Like King’s island, it was founded roughly three years ago. It boasts three large settlements one with a royal fortress, (La Puebloto). It has a robust citrus export trade, and the Bay of Good Hope has been considered a safe harbor for Mardieran traders for years now. The native peoples have been pacified and have begun to be assimilated into the Mardieran work force. The island is well travelled and documented, and considered an important part of the Crown’s defense plans for the Prio Sea region. Recently, a group of maroons have taken a small bay in the cliffs of the south end of the island. Supposedly they are supported by the Crown of Eslandola. The full force of the Mardier Navy will be brought to bear upon these illegal squatters, if they do not immediately remove themselves from our island. Below is the map of Mardier’s PRIME colony in the Sea of Prio region. Graciously mapped in the common tongue by the Cartographers Guild of Corrington. Skaford heights by skaforhire, on Flickr Settlement on this island is closed to all but authorized citizens. Foreigners must have a Mardier sponsor. The great city of La Puebloto stands as a bastion of the King’s might in a troubling time. Gods Save the King! Gods bless Mardier! Gods protect La Isla de Medio! To the citizens of the Brick Seas. If the maroons of Eslandola do not remove themselves from La Isla de Medio by October 14th, 616, the King of Mardier will issue a letter of mark to all willing participants. The letter states that the captain may attack Eslandola’s vessels of all nature in the name of Mardier. This will be considered a lawful prize to all courts in all nations, as Mardier and Eslandola shall then be at war. We encourage Eslandola to rethink their discretions and avoid this fruitless war. Sincerely Count Adwin Encarnacion Minister of the Colonies of Mardier
  12. With the initial settlement of Fuerte Unido secure, Capitan Alonzo now had to look at the long term defense of the settlement. Although the south bay was the best anchorage of Isla de Victoria, the settlement was positioned at the narrowest part of the island (less than 30 miles across!). As such, Fuerte Unido was susceptible to an attack from the north if Mardier were to land troops on the northern shore. So, Capitan Alonzo sent out Sargento Felipe and the troops on construction duty once more, to build a small fort on the coast directly north. Imagine Felipe's shock when, after he crossed the ridge that forms the southern backbone of the island and followed a river to the northern coast, that there was already a settlement there! Mardier had made more than a claim to the island; it already had a settlement! And from the looks of it, it had been there for awhile. This was an unexpected development! Felipe sent one of his men back to Fuerte Unido to report this urgent information, but he did not abandon his mission. Sargento Felipe and his men backtracked up-river and found a good location for the blockhouse, on a hill at a bend in the river, perhaps 15 miles from both Fuerte Unido and the Mardier settlement. This would still protect Fuerte Unido's northern flank, and could cut-off any supplies the Marderians might send to or receive from the interior of the island. It took much less time to build than Fuerto Unido (which included a blockhouse at one corner). But this blockhouse could better stand alone, with musket slits on the lower level, and gunports for 3 cannons. Additionally, Fortaleza Victoria had a watch tower built into the roof. Capitan Alonzo would be pleased with the job, thought Felipe. Perhaps he would even be promoted to have a command of his own, here at Fortaleza Victoria. Edit: Please note that the text above has been revised to note the discovery of the Marderian settlement and subsequent corrected location of Fortaleza Victoria.
  13. Capitan Alonzo had been summoned to the Governor’s mansion. After his assignment on Ferro Azure, Alonzo was now in Weelond inspecting MCTC troops. When word came that Governor Guilder wanted to see him urgently, Alonzo reported immediately. “Capitan Alonzo, please come in. I have a most urgent assignment for you.” “What is it, sir?” “I believe you know Thaddeus Calvo, here, yes? He’s a rather well-known adventurer in certain social circles, especially after almost finding the fountain of youth. But I digress. Calvo has been working his Mardier contacts of late, gathering any intelligence he can in our war efforts. To this point all we’ve had are some unimpressive small encounters at sea--but even those have been few and far between of late--and there was the aborted land campaign in the Grand Duchy of Prio. But Calvo has found out that Mardier is claiming rights to the largest island in our new archipelago in the South Prio Sea! This is, of course, outrageous. Mardier cannot be permitted to establish a presence in the archipelago! Eslandola already has plans for a major trading post on the eastern island, and the trade companies are interested in the resources we believe are present on the western island. But the largest, central island, the Skaford Heights, could control the entire archipelago and the South Prio Sea if Mardier were to use it as a base of operations.” “I am at your service, Governor Guilder. Has Mardier started to fortify the island yet?” “No, Capitan Alonzo, Calvo assures me they have not. In fact, we don’t think they have any physical presence yet on the island, but we’re not taking any chances. The trade companies have united on this issue! Your work fortifying Salida Este was excellent, and we are confident of your ability in this new assignment.” “Thank you, Governor!” “Per the plan outlined in Operation KMA, you are to leave today with a company of troops to sail for the Nova Eslandola archipelago in the South Prio Sea. Captain Merker is preparing one of our fastest ships as we speak. Once there, you are to establish a fortified position on the natural bay on the south side of the main island, and await reinforcements. The other trade companies are sending men and resources as well, but if Mardier forces arrive before our other men, you are authorized to act as you see fit, including attacking any Mardier presence.” Alonzo rubbed his hands together in anticipation. He looked forward to seeing real action again. “Along with the reinforcements, Jerome Monezterell will also be arriving on the island soon to serve as mayor of the new settlement. When he arrives, you will report to him, but you will retain military command of the fort and our MCTC troops.” “Yes, sir,” said Alonzo. “Any questions, Capitan?” “Just one, sir. What does KMA stand for in the operation name?” “It really doesn’t mean anything officially,” said Gov. Guilder. “But I like to think it stands for “Kick Mardier’s … er … Assets!” And with that, Operation KMA had commenced. More to come…
  14. After the initial wave of light troops, Capitan Alonzo has found a place where the MAESTRO-ships can safely anchor to bring the heavy artillery at land. And with heavy, we mean heavy! With them comes Elysabeth of Drondil to take command of a regiment of Dragoons to drive the Mardierans into the sea! --------------------------------- Thanks for looking, CC very welcome! Credits to nineuve to inspire me!
  15. (note: the first picture is a recycled picture only serving story purpose) (recycled picture) Somewhere in Breshaun, everday business was going on. An older guy with an oddly brown beard and poor clothes went to the MAESTRO Cider shop at the quays. "Greatings monsieur N'estpassivieux, how are you doing today?" "Ah, excellent eh, oui yes, but too bad it will be my last applecider I'll drink in my life" "How it comes? You are our most loyal client!" "Ah oui yes, I should not say it, but as I am older, I don't have so much longer to live. And see, I got a cousin in Mardier, and the higher class in Mardier spent their last days in a Spa. Something about a white volcano It makes them feel younger. But only Marderians are supposed to know." "Really too bad, we'll miss you... Anyway, enjoy the applecider and your holiday there!" At the same time monsieur N'estpassivieux left, a messenger left and took a quick Skiff to Elysabethtown. -------- A few days later, around miday, The Prince of Stedor arrived at an island with a white volcano. It wasn't that hard to find once you knew what to search for... (note, this seriously is not LEGO... It is to illustrate the island and the inspiration for the following pic which is LEGO and is my story build.) ---------- "A Mardierian flag, this should be the right spot", Jan Zwartbaard whispered to his Lieutenant once they set foot on the land. They found a perfect spot to hide the Prince of Stedor and the troops stationed on it. "I don't like the symbol of Zeus as flagpole" the Lieutenant replied. Strange indeed... But the explanation came quickly as the exploring party arrived at the so hyped Fountain of Youth. "Welcome to the Fountain of Youth Spa, Please register here, leave your money and weapons there, change your clothes wherever you want and start relaxing!" A beauitull woman welcomed the explorers. Jan Zwartbaard was stunned for a moment. Such a beauty!! But then the Lieutenant woke him up from daydreaming and pointed to some red cloaked figures on top of a small hill. The lady saw them looking and wondering, so she said: "That's Lord Father Toleau. He discovered this island and made this wonderfull Spa Resort out of it." "What's the secret of this island?" "Well, the rich and famous from Mardier are enjoying the end of their life here. As we got everything in this Spa and they may do everything here, added with the healing atmosphere of the White Volcano, they feel young again. Ofcourse they don't live forever, but at least, they die feeling young..." Meanwhile Lord Father Toleau arrived at the scene as well, accompanied with two red cloaked guards. "Ah Eslandolan friends... As good tradepartner of Mardier, you are welcome to take a rest here, but we fear you are too young to stay here..." "Weren't you an Oleon priest?" "Oh yes, but after I discovered the island, Mardier offered me the most power and wealth, so now this a Mardierian Colony." Jan Zwartbaard knew enough.... Lord Father Toleau didn't know there was war between Eslandola and Mardier... He didn't know YET... He looked to his Lieutenant and nodded... What a beautifull addition to the MAESTRO empire... To be continued... ------------------------------------- Wow, such a difficult built as it is completely SNOT... But I am very happy with the result! C&C welcome!!
  16. The reporter from the Kings Port Advertiser was fuzzing about, calling out to the sketch artist to "catch my best features…" and "…make sure to make L'Olius looking right heroic for the frontpage" and to the scribe "…and don't you misquote me, or I will have at your hide!" They were setting up outside the high court of Terraversa waiting for the highly profiled case of L'Olius versus Eslandola, a case, which, apart from including the most beloved naval hero of Terraversa, was highly likely to have serious diplomatic consequences. And with Terraversa struggling for independence in the Mardierian civil war, the outcome could be critical to the future of the colony. A large crowd was assembling, and there was a general din as the tension was rising with the anticipation. A few Eslandians had shown up too, but most of them withdrew swiftly as the moral pressure of collective public opinion against them, or were removed by brute physical force, should they venture to express their allegiance. The hum of the crowd was considerable and normal conversation was strained at best, impossible at the worst. Nonetheless, the moment the doors opened and a guarded L'Olius stepped out, a hush fell over the crowd. L'Olius raised his hand in greeting, a triumphant smile spreading upon his face, and the hush temporarily gave way to a series of loud cheers. As the cheers died down, L'Olius gave a short speech in his booming quarterdeck voice, much to the joy of the crowd. "L'Olius has just left the courts, and appears in great spirits" the reporter dictated. "Out here, he is getting the hero's reception he deserves, regardless of the mistreatment those greedy, selfish Eslandians has brought upon him." The scribe scribbled on, and the sketch artist was busy immortalising the moment that might change the fate of Terraversa for ever. "The Eslandians have long held our trade in an iron grip, and their unlawful monopolies have threatened our economy, our very survival, and most importantly, our freedom!" The reporter paused for a moment, weighing his words and letting the scribe catch up. "L'Olius has taking it upon himself to put things right, to bring justice and reason to our world. With a perfectly legal Letter of Marque in hand, he has fought for our liberty, and the survival of our merchants. And now the Eslandians have brought him to court! Perfectly harassing him, our great hero! And on the pretence of some trifle about legalities - a trifle surely put to right by our esteemed courts!" The scribe enjoyed this… He knew it would be on the front page of the Kings Port Advertiser tomorrow, and that it would be sold out. The picture forming on his colleague's canvas would be the perfect eye-catcher, as would any headline containing L'Olius' name these days. As the reporter continued his narrative, he resumed his writing. What a sensation this would be…
  17. Last month, the dastardly privateering villain L'Olius forced the Queen of Terreli (ESL crown) to surrender and captured the Fenix. These acts of aggression have proved very concerning to the Eslandian crown, and it has determined that it will not permit its shipping to be threatened in this manner with impunity! L'Olius is a privateer for Mardier, based at Terraversa. He holds a letter of marque from the governor of the island, who is at odds with the current Mardier King during the Civil War. That being the case, the Mardier courts were willing to consider the situation, in the hopes of avoiding a rupture with Eslandola. So we're calling for volunteers for a build off to decide the case. Three volunteers for each side (Eslandola and Mardier). To volunteer, apply in this topic and state which side you'd like to help. Each volunteer will have to build one MOC. 20x20 limit on MOC size, with a minimal overhang. Deadline is April 25th. Any BoBS member can volunteer for either side, but Eslandians cannot volunteer for Mardier. Each team must incorporate the following four themes at least once in their total of three builds: the court, the prisoners, L'Olius, and pineapples. Once the teams are determined, a PM thread will be set up for each team. Builds must be posted in their own thread and linked to below. All builds will earn 10 DBs (but will not count as free builds). If Mardier wins, Mardier volunteers will receive 75 DBs (that's 40% of the profit at stake divided between the three participants). Building may commence as soon as one team (either one) has reached three volunteers. After the 25th, a voting thread will be set up. All EB members will be invited to determine (based on the MOCs) which side deserves to win this case. If Eslandola wins, both ships will be restored to their original owners. If Mardier wins, both ships will remain with L'Olius. More information on L'Olius: L'Olius is a maritime hero, who at one point was one of the Royal Family's favorite captains. However, he has sided with Terraversa and the rebels, as he is actually a descendant of one of the Terraversa tribes. He very loosely walks the privateer line with little justification other than his own fervent support on the Island. So... who's up for a challenge? Throw down the gauntlet and let's get bricking!
  18. Ahoy mateys, this is Part I of our storyline for the ongoing build off between ESL and MAR. We - that is Jacob Nion, Bregir, and I - sided with l'Olius and justice! To reveal to you what those sneaky, backstabbing Eslandolans are capable of doing with their money-grabbing fingers if they see their Doubloons at stake. A Hero Harassed - Part I - Pleadings “You did what?” The judge gasped in surprise. And it looked like the hint of a grin on his face. L'Olius continued. Yes, he had seized the Queen of Terreli – and he had done it... with pineapples! L'Olius' squadron had been following the Eslandolan convoy for several days, and couldn't believe that there was only one warship to escort all these traders. And this warship seemed to be commanded by the worst captain anyone could ever have heard of. As a result, the Queen of Terreli performed so very poorly at sea, clearly this could only be a trap. But l'Olius was determined to follow his orders, so his squadron kept pursuing. And when they were about to intercept, l'Olius knew how he could seize the Queen without much violence: If using grapeshot was one of the most bloody ways to attack and seize a ship, he would use a broadside of the most unbloody thing – pinappleshot. And it worked! The captain and crew of the Queen were so utterly surprised, that before they could even think of what in Poseidon's name they had just witnessed, l'Olius was already standing on the bridge, and he placed the still confused captain under arrest. This story would definitely go down in history. What a day. But all that wasn't really what this trial was all about. Neither were the reasons for l'Olius orders to be discussed, nor the political background to be analyzed. This trial was about one thing only: Did he seize the Queen of Terreli legally, did he possess a valid letter of marque. And the answer to this question could only be 'Yes.' Yes, he did possess a valid letter of marque. It was granted to l'Olius personally by the Governor of Terraversa himself. And denying Terraversa's Governor the right to issue legal documents – not even Eslandola could go that far, if they didn't intend to affront all Mardians, and risk a war, that they always claimed not to want! So for one last time l'Olius looked at the pitiable Eslandolan representative, and waving his letter of marque before her eyes with pleasure he said: “Like it or not – the Queen of Terreli is now legally mine.” I hope you enjoyed this first part. Here is the rest: Part II - Discovery, Part III - Prospects. C&C welcome. For l'Olius and justice!
  19. Eslandola vs. Mardier For Eslandola! Captain L'Ollius was widely known to be a fearless man in Mardier. However, there was one fear he had kept hidden. And now, since he had captured those Eslandolan ships during a time of Peace, it had been haunting him. His one fear: Pineapples. He had been nearly poisoned by one when he was young, and this was worse than any he had ever seen. It was a demon Pineapple. He screamed and leapt out his bed, sword in hand. Nothing. "Are ye alright Captain?" "Yes, it was....... nothing." My entry for Eslandola! Unfortunately I didn't have time to render the last two images. C&C welcome!
  20. "Alright, you see, fellow Eslandolans, we have spied on the condition of our men taken prisoner by L'Olious' henchmen. They are currently being held in a cell off the coast, and if the court goes badly, we may have to take drastic measures..." A couple of punks watching the shores: An overly courageous Eslandolan Knight being executed: A couple of Eslandolan soldiers and the Ship captain being held: Figless: And the inside of the cell: Alright! My Eslandola Vs. Mardier Court Case build is finally up! This is my last build before i take a long break from LEGOs, of which more will be posted in the Eslandola page.
  21. Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon The Viper After their humiliating capture by the Mardians, the crew of The Viper was imprisoned while Mardier decided how best to use the ship. Sinbad found himself sharing a cell with Li Fang. “My father has failed one too many times!” Li exclaimed. “He’s always been too soft. That’s why we took privateering license when we could have been making our own way!” Sinbad knew Li had a point. But after everything Cho had done for him in bring him on as a crew member, he wasn’t sure he was ready to betray the captain just yet. “The men are on my side” continued Li. “We’ve only been waiting for the right opportunity. When the time comes, can I count on you?” Before Sinbad had a chance to answer, a large commotion began further into the jail. Sinbad watched as the guard ran towards the noise, but a few minutes later the only thing to return was a small bomb rolling across the floor. It blew the door off its hinges and Sinbad and Li rushed out. “Wait!” shouted Cho. “Don’t leave me!” Sinbad looked towards the captain and then at Li. He knew if he was going to succeed, he would need to make his own way. Hanging onto Cho’s coattails wouldn’t get him far. He turned away from the Cho’s pleas and left with Li and the rest of the crew as they stormed the harbor and took back The Viper.
