  1. Hello everyone, there is a contest, that comes around annually, and never ceases to impress, both with the fun from the participants, the difficulty deciding for the judges, and even the amazement of the viewers, of the the Middle Earth builds posted in the 5th annual Middle Earth Lego Olympics on Mocpages. I had the honor of helping set up the contest this year, and I am very excited for what is ahead, since the Mocpages forum is dying off, and we still want to have a competition that is fun, and challenging, we are advertising this contest on all other sites so that it can meet the expectations of the moccers on Mocpages. There will be six rounds, of different Middle Earth related such as Poems/Songs in the books and/or movies. Round 1 will be a free for all, which will be judges by 6 judges on a 1-10 point scale where the top 32 contestants will move on to the next round, then, from rounds 2-6, the rounds will be a one-on-one moc-off, where contestants will face off, and the judges will choose whose build they think is better. Please check out the contest by clicking the link below the banner: Mocpages Group Link!!!!!! Thanks so much for viewing, I hope you choose to compete, view, or donate to this great contest, no matter what you do, I hope you come along for the ride to Mordor! To God be the Glory!!!
  2. Hello fellow elves, orcs, hobbits and humans, this creation comes directly from the second Hobbit movie: The Halls of Thranduil While watching the movie for the first time the capital of the Woodland Realm already caught my attention and with the first Comic Con in Stuttgart, Germany, last year I had the perfect chance to build and show my version. I had a few challenges to deal with while building, but I'm pretty happy how it turned out. One was the sheer size of the original halls. My layout is already quite big, but to fit in all elements, I had to scale down a lot. Next to the inside I built the outside of the halls with a few trees to indicate the location of the halls in the Mirkwood Forest. I hope you like it. For higher resolutions of all pictures check them out on Flickr. Jonas

    [MOC/MOD] Council of Elrond

This has been 99% built for probably about a year now, but I just got around to finishing it up and taking decent pictures. The only "important" council member I'm still missing is Boromir. He's not cheap. C&C welcome.
  5. Hi all, this ist my first LEGO-project after the dark ages. Helm´s Deep in plastic - started in august 2012 Sorry for the sparse description.. My english is really bad! ..less words - more pictures Thanks for looking and i hope you like it.. flickr: http://www.flickr.co...57631303846332/

    [MOC] Gandalf arrives

My version of 9469 set. I don't have any set from lego LOTR and now if I want to buy some the price is horrible, so I decided to create my version of that classic set. Enjoy!
  7. Hey everyone, I was pretty excited about the announcement of the BrickHeadz line for 2017 and I like the superhero figures that were revealed for the SDCC. So I thought about what other characters I would enjoy being released as BrickHeadz and the dwarves from The Hobbit immediately came to mind. I started figuring out the basic design and dimensions of the figures TLG has shown so far and built Balin as my first attempt at this building in this Chibi style. I quickly rendered the model for now, but once I have refined the MOC and checked the availability of the parts used I'll place some Bricklink orders and build it for real. *Edit*: Pictures of the brickbuilt model in the fourth post. *Edit* Anyway, here are some pictures! I'd love to get some feedback from you.
  8. Hello, I would like to let you know that a dedicated Middle Earth LEGO Minifigure Catalog is now available. It has the best photographs of all the LOTR/Hobbit Minifigures in it. I hope you enjoy it.
  9. LEGO Helm's Deep Project. Work in progress... I'm currently 10,000+ pieces in, with another 5,000-10,000 to go. I have approximately 500 more figures (400 Uruk-Hai and 100 Rohan) to add to the diorama upon its completion. I'm quickly realizing that I'll need to purchase another table if I plan to display this all in one piece ;) I wanted to update people on my progress thus far, I hope that you enjoy it! Credit to Brickstruct for instructions. More pictures available on my flickr: If you would like to receive updates on this project and others, please follow!
  10. From the Lord of the Rings- Fellowship of the Ring. After separating from Frodo, Aragorn prepares to face the Hand of Saruman. Aragorn- "I swore to protect you... I would have gone with you to the end. Into the very fires of Mordor." Frodo- "I know." From the Movie: LEGO interpretation of the above photo:
  11. Hi everyone, now I want to show you my Minas Morgul project. I hope you enjoy. ;-) (click on the main image to get to my project on ideas.lego.com) Please click on the images to see the lager version. You can see more images of this project (and my other projects) on my flickr page. Functions: This mighty fortress includes 2.603 bricks. The inner part of the fortress, the bridge with the 2 staues and the ramp can be removed. You can connect the ramp with the fortress. There are 4 catapults on wall and they have many ammunition. My thought is that the green transparent bricks on the wall, will glow in the dark. The bricks could look like white bricks at daylight. (like the spiders of mirkwood does) There is the throne of the Witch king inside the tower. Weapons, armor and some magic potion are placed in the tower. Figures: Frodo Baggins Samwise Gamgee Gollum the Witch-king of Angmar 1 Fell-beast Gothmog the lieutenant of Minas Morgul 5 Morgul-orcs @all viewers: Now it's up to you. Vote for my project and make the dream come true. Please look at my other projects, sare these with your friends and support these. 12. Hi All, This is a small build I did for a LUG build competition. The competition was to do a 16x16 build with crossed themes. This is the first build I've done using the Elves figs (I've got some sets for the parts). Thanks
  13. I had designed my LegoIDEAS Orc War Boar for... erm well for Orcs... (Yes the clue's in the name!) but I had also took a few quick shots to see if it worked with a Dwarf riding it instead. Anyway, let me know what you think and if you like it then please support the updated IDEAS... especially if you want to help inspire and show TLG that there is still a market and a desire for castle / medieval / fantasy themes and sets from the community out there. http://ideas.lego.co...132944/updates
  14. A few LotR MOCs: Galadriel, Elrond, Gandalf the White, Gondorian knight, Sam, Frodo, Merry and Pip. The hobbits pre-date the official ones with a few later parts. Apologies for the rubbish photography. Questions, comments, rings of power?
  15. Hi all, The parts arrived today so here's another 16x16 mini modular house. This time it's the domestic bliss that is The Tower of Orthanc from Lord of the Rings. It is very cloudy here in Ireland today but I did my best to compensate with the camera settings. It's far from ideal but I took the picture anyway. Hope ya like it :D

    [MOC] Mixel-Ent

Hey there! Here is my Mixel Ent, built out of 50 parts. Hope you enjoy! Mixel Ent by kofi, auf Flickr
  17. Thanks to the Balrog being included in Lego Dimensions, I managed to reverse engineer the design in LDD and build it for real. It turns out that the design used doesn't really work in plastic, and some of the parts simply don't exist. This is my edited version to stay as true as possible to the original and still have it working. The Lego Balrog by siegfried_fm, on Flickr I've included the LDD files and wing templates in my original blog post: http://www.beardedne...e-rings-balrog/ Feel free to build your own and improve on the design!

    [MOC] I Made a Promise

One of my favorite scenes in Lord of the Rings is Sam chasing after Frodo at the end of the Fellowship, despite Sam's inability to swim. I wanted to try and capture this scene with LEGO bricks. Let me know what you think! Flickr for more pictures and to stay updated with all my latest projects! https://www.flickr.com/photos/90319613@N07/ "I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise. 'Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee.' And I don't mean to. I don't mean to." -Samwise Gamgee

    MOC: Nori - Regal Armour

Build as relaxing little MOC between more challenging projects, Nori in his regal armour found at Erebor's vaults (and seen to briefly in The Battle of the Five Armies). I had bought 125 short black chain pieces from LUGBULK this year. I think they look very nice as chainmail. Few more shots and talk on Cyclopic Bricks. Thanks for watching!

    [WIP] Elven Army

I've been working on building up an army of elves, using Elrond from the Witch-King Battle set, and some slightly customized helmets from the Atlantis theme. I think they look pretty solid form-wise, but haven't painted them yet, so they're clearly in-progress. Even in their not-done state, I think the effect of a dozen of them together is pretty cool, so I wanted to share/get feedback. It might be a better question for the Minifig customization forum, but does anyone know a good paint to get close to pearl gold? Need to track that down to finish these :) Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr by bricklearth, on Flickr by bricklearth, on Flickr
  21. I'm in need of money, so other than sets (mainly classic sets, see here) I'm also looking to sell off some of my minifigures, including some of my more valuable ones. The reason I called this topic "Potentially For Sale" is because whether I sell a figure or not depends on whether I receive an offer for it that I deem to be good enough. So if you're interested in one or more of these figures, shoot me a PM including an offer. Here's what I'm considering selling: - Blue Coat Bilbo (Rare promotional bright blue market attire) (new condition, only ever put on display in its original plastic case) - LOTR Pippin (Like new*) - LOTR Samwise Gamgee (*) - The Hobbit Legolas Greenleaf (Available quantity: 3) (*) - CMF Spartan (Comes with accessoires if requested so) (*) - DC Superheroes Lex Luthor in Green Power Armour (*) - Fantasy Era Castle Black Dragon (Good to great condition, needs re-assembly once a deal has been made) - Fantasy Era Castle Sand Green Troll (Great condition, horns are currently missing) - Fantasy Era Castle Dark Tan Troll (Great condition, horns are curently missing) Shoot me a PM along with an offer if you're interested so we can work out a deal. I am located in The Netherlands, and I prefer to do deals within Europe, but am willing to negotiate possible deals internationally as well.

    [Mosaic] Gollum

This one was tricky as far as design is concerned, but I love the finished product. His left eye is in shadow (try blurring yours) Enjoy, Finn Smeagol by fineusscottneff, on Flickr
  23. Hi folks, I've been working on tracking down the right parts to assemble a solidly movie-accurate Gondorian army for quite a while now. I think I've finally gotten it pretty nailed down, and I wanted to share the results with other people who might be interested. That "wait, what, no Gondor?" feeling is a tough one :D. These aren't purist, by any means and I certainly did not make any of the parts myself...but, as far as I've been able to find, no one has shared these parts all assembled together before. I'm really happy with them, and think they've got a very strong "purish" vibe - they're close to something TLG would have made, if they'd actually made Gondorian figs. I'm unsure on etiquette around sharing links to sources, but I'm more than happy to do so if it's allowed. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys this first section of my little army. This is about 30% of the guys I've got for this group, I'll post more photos as I get the rest of them fully assembled. I'd love feedback, tell me what you think :D Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr
