    Greetings from Lego.Ideas

Hi, I'm Anduin1710 and I'm an AFOL from Germany. I was born in East Berlin, this means to get a little LEGO set was always like birthday, x-mas and eastern together! And Lego was always very expensive too. ... I started to buy and collecting Lego, since I found the Lego Minifiures Series 2. I'm very interessed in history, so I found the historical minifigures pritty cool. I like Star Wars too, so I stared to buy some Lego Star Wars sets. I found the Lego Digital Designer to creat my own MOCs on my computer. I'm a big THE LORD OF THE RINGS fan, so I started to build my own LOTR sets. And with the Lego LOTR and THE HOBBIT sets my dream come true. In April 2014 I joined Lego cuusoo (now it is lego ideas) to publish my creations. Here are my projects: You can also visit me on flickr. Thank you for your attention.
  9. Hello, guys! I want to introduce my debut work on LEGO Ideas – "The Mirror of Galadriel". The project is dedicated to the iconic episode from Lord of the Rings - The Mirror of Galadriel. In this episode the Lorien queen Galadriel shows Frodo his future with help of magic elven mirror. The set consists of approximately 100 pieces and 2 minifigures. It has a playing feature with hidden container in elven wellspring. LINK: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85110
  10. Hello. The Gray Havens Series I have created a series of MOCs to go along with my swan ship, hence creating the perfect environment to reproduce the fabled Gray Havens from Tolkien's Universe. Now I have release in https://ideas.lego.com/projects/84919 a new part of the great city - feel free to support :) The elven swan fountain Remeber this? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/51716 They go along in a greater MOC I will present later on. Hope you like it. Leave your feedback and opinions. I really appreciate them and help me improve my skills. Thanks for the help.

  13. My final entry to Category C. This is one of my favorite scene of the Desolation of Smaug movie, and I've waiting for a good chance to recreate it in LEGO.
  14. "After the fall of Sauron, Éomer, son of Éomund, returns to Rohan to be crowned king, following in the footsteps of Théoden, son of Thengel, who was slain during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Upon his return to Edoras, King Éomer decides the time has come to wipe out the remaining Dunlendings, former servants of evil who were sent by Saruman to aid him in the destruction of Rohan, who have now taken refuge throughout Dunland from whence they came, spread out over many different settlements and some fortresses. One of these fortresses can be found on the border of Rohirric lands to Dunland, one that was taken from Rohan by the Dunlendings during the War of the Ring. As a first step to conquering Dunland and slaying the remaining hostile Dunlendings, King Éomer sends a group of his men to surround the fortress, attacking the Dunlendings from every possible side. One of these sides is the western rivergate, to which a group of Rohirrim footsoldiers has been sent to begin the attack..." ________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is my entry for MEC, category B, depicting an event from the 4th age of Middle-Earth. Enjoy, C&C welcome as always!

    [MOC] Siege of the Citadel

The great siege has begun. Hordes crash upon the Citadel's mighty walls, its defenders holding invaders at bay. At first the fighting is even, the defenders even slaying one of the serpentine beasts sent forth and felling a siege tower that was brought upon. However as the days progress, battle wear is beginning to take its toll upon the Citadel's brave defenders. When does the Emperor and his allies come to aid? The gates won't hold much longer, making the tower and the keep the last stand for the defenders of the Citadel.....
  17. Here's probably my only entry for Category A: The Missing Set. I chose to do Mount Doom. I'm not really sure why LEGO never did this scene, seeing how it is the most important of the movie. This comes three play features, all coinciding with the movie, as are the minifigure's outfits: Sam's dirty, and without all the equipment printed on his actual, LEGO-made torso, and Frodo's dirty and torn. Setname: 79022 Mount Doom Parts: 201 Minifigures: 3 Price: $24.99 The play features, like a handle for Frodo to hold onto. A lever, that if you pull... ...this will happen. And finally, a launcher that fires, well... fire. ;)
  18. My entry for Category B of the Midde Earth Contest. The Age of Men is now in the present and the Kingdom of Arnor is restored. Arnor soldiers are sent out to the east of their capital to patrol areas for retreating orcs. Instead of finding orcs, these Arnor soldiers encountered a bear cave with an old bear residing in it. Well, at least it isn't another orc pack... Radagast is spotted on the ridge, but will he help the Arnor soldiers? Inside: I thought I would throw Radagast in there because there is no concrete evidence that places him out of Middle Earth during the Age of Men.
  19. The Missing Set - Mordor Army Siege A gaping hole in the range of Middle Earth Lego sets is that of Gondor, and the siege & battle at Minas Tirith & Pelennor Fields. This entry is 1 of perhaps 3 sets to rectify that. (The companion sets would be something like "Grond at the Gates" "Pelennor Fields Battle" etc and contain a fell beast, mumak, Eowyn, Denethor, Grond, Haradrim + variations of existing characters.) Mordor Army Siege contains a stretch of Minas Tirith outer wall, an orc siege tower, a battle troll (I would suggest a colour and/or print variation to what we have here), 4 orcs (2 new versions, & 2 repeats. Could easily just have 2 each of the new. 4 of the original would suck a bit), 2 Gondor soldiers (pikeman with White Tree shield, & archer/bowman) and Faramir in ranger garb. As this is "supposed to be" an official set the obligatory flick-fire missiles have been included (where they should certainly not be) and working catapult. Multiple wall sections would be connectable to each other. (Yes, I know that the plates on the bottom are in the way... it was too much hassle to pull it all apart again to fix that!) Other play features include an "explodable wall" segment, weapon & armour storage on the tower, and the mobile tower itself. The tower roof opens up for easy access, and the door folds down & open (as you would expect!). The tower can be picked up easily with one hand without falling apart, something I'm not used to forcing upon my mocs, but an official set needs to be solid, stable and not flimsy. This is intended to be one of those "buy multiples of" sets. Who wouldn't want more (different) orcs, Gondor soldiers, Minas Tirith wall, battle trolls, rangers (swap out the head?) and materials for siege weapons? And the shield if done properly (I think you can get that shape without the stud?) If you are wondering about the parts from the minifigs, the Gondor soldiers are simply fleshified Crownies + Uruk-Hai armour. The heads are from POTC, and the shield is obviously a piece of printed paper sticky-taped to an old castle octagonal shield. I hope that counts as a "decal you have made yourself"! Faramir is a combination of Aragorn's torso & legs, Eomer's cape & head, + elf hood. The grey custom orc uses a Chima head & arms, legs & (reversed) torso from Moria orc + castle cowl. The quiver hides the green "triangle" on the back. The other orc uses legs, torso & helmet from Fantasy Era "troll" + Yazneg's head & arms. The tower I originally built (but didn't get a roof on yet) was just way too flimsy & big, this version is about half the size, but I believe that if TLG made this set that the tower would be even smaller. The other tower is shown in the album. You may have noticed that I underestimated the amount of white parts I had available... I was genuinely surprised, and to get the wall to this size was a huge stretch. As such, the appearance and stability suffered. It looks even more amateur than I would have liked! Fortunately I didn't build the Minas Tirith gate section as I had earlier planned... Link to Flickr album I hope you like it! Or at least the essence of it.
  20. This is my entry to the "The Age of Men" catgory. I always wanted to build the white tree, and as it is a great metaphor for Gondor growing to old strength again, I have chossen this for the category. When Aragorn became king after the war, he planted a sapling of the white tree on the court of the fountain. The years gone by and as Aragorn's children were growing, the tree also rised up to the sky, to show that Gondor was wealthy and strong again. Thanks for hosting this great contest, I love everything from Middleearth. And good luck to the other contestants !

    [MOC] Dragon King's Rally

Standing atop his fortified tower, the wielder of the Crown of Fire, has summoned his mammoth army to a single purpose: destroy the Emperor's Citadel. Uruk Hai bred for combat, mercenaries donning black armor and red eyes infused by the Dragon King's warlocks magic, filthy trolls from the farthest reaches of the Wild Lands, serpentine beasts yoked under the magic spells of the warlocks, and the wild men loyal to the Dragon King. Bearing the crowns of the conquered kings as battle standards, they will stop at nothing until the Citadel is but shadows and dust. 22. The reclusive Elves of the Western Shores have had their hands full dealing with drakes and the great dragons of the Wild Lands. Adapting human technologies the elves have built ballistae defenses to counter the foul beasts that, on their own or summoned by the wielder of the Crown of Fire, attack their solemn keeps. With four harpoons, it will fell even the largest dragons, tho, it all depends on the skill of the Elven soldier who mans it. IMG_20141024_160042581 IMG_20141024_160031445 IMG_20141024_160042581
  23. This is my entry to the "Missing Set" category. Everbody wanted a third wave of LotR sets with some Gondor soldiers, so I choose Osgiliath so that we can get Gondor rangers and soldiers. Also having a Faramir minifig seems to be very important for me. The build is inspired by the techniques of the Dol Guldur sets. My aim was to make it look like ruins, while it is still sturdy, playable and matching the real sets. The figures and shields are made with photoshop. Setname: 79021 Battle of Osgiliath Parts: 718 Minfigs: 8 Price: 89,99 $ / 99,99 € The set is now available at Lego Ideas, I would be really happy if you support me, thanks ! Thanks for hosting this great contest, I love everything from Middleearth. And good luck to the other contestants !

    Dragon King's Tower

The Great Tower of the Dragon King. Built as a keep to garrison troops that kept away barbarians, savages, and all sort of brute and destitute denizens of the Wild Lands of the Great Northwest, the Tower was taken over by the 1st Dragon King over a millennia ago. From this imposing fortress, those who wear the Crown of Fire launch attacks on the Emperor's lands. In this late hour, aided by evil warlocks, the Dragon King has raised a mammoth army to raze the Emperor's Citadel. Summoning fell beasts, brute barbarians, uruk hybrids, and two land drakes, he is on a warpath. His Marshall remains with the tower's garrison as the army has departed, the Citadel its target IMG_20141023_231200901 IMG_20141023_231206604 Dragon King's Tower
