  4. If Lester is the kind of man to make an itinerary, I hope he leaves a month or two out to see the states. I first met Lester many years ago in London. I had gotten separated from my tour group and was just about to miss my train when Lester intervened. I never got the chance to say thank you... until now, that is. I heard that Lester is going on a grand adventure, right? Well if he makes his way across the pond, tell him to look me up in North Carolina. I assume it will be shortly after he wraps things up in Africa, so he's welcome to use my washing machine... and my Parabellum. The best way to see the USA is by road, and it just won't do for Lester to try and haul a safari jeep out here. If he's going to be driving across the continent, he'll need something to give him the All American experience. He'll save a bunch in gasoline as well. I have a 2017 Parabellum ARC. I know a lot of people only swear by the established names in the muscle car circles, but I haven't yet had anyone turn down my offer to let them take a lap in it. Take a look! This should come as good news: it only seats one so you don't have to get used to sitting on "the wrong side!" From the rear: So, what do you think of my car? I hope Lester will take me up on my offer. If any of you see him, would you do me a favor and point him in my direction? Thanks. -Floyd Burgundy
  5. Something to conquer the harshest terrain. In style. A very gray style. Features: souped up engine cockpit with spaces for biscuit and tea dashboard with navigation aids 4x3 cargo space shovel for when stuck, rifle to blend in while in the colonies the blue thing's supposed to be some sort of cooking surface and storage unit, I don't even know. Fried biscuits? why not active suspension system allows wheelies to impress the natives
  6. Being a proper British gentleman, Lester needs a proper British touring car for his globe-spanning adventure and what could be more properly British than a right-hand-drive, 1930 Bentley 4-1/2 Litre with the Amherst Villiers supercharger, a Bentley Blower? Lester has asked his good friend, the famous pilot and adventurer Jake Raines, to help turn Lester's Bentley Blower into a solid, competent, and reliable adventure car. Jake knows a thing or two about getting around in the wilderness and has fitted the Bentley Blower with strong steel wheels and aggressive tires, increased the ride-height for better ground-clearance on rough roads, added a spare wheel and tire above the capacious boot, and added a large jerry-can to carry additional petrol. Lester's Bentley Blower seats two comfortably and, on smooth roads, just like the Bentley Blower purchased in 1933 by James Bond, is "capable of touring at ninety with thirty miles an hour in reserve". Lester might not want to drive his Bentley Blower at ninety miles per hour on unimproved roads but his car's strong steel wheels, aggressive tires, and increased ride-height work in concert to ensure Lester can continue forward regardless of the terrain.
  7. The all-new Daimler-Benz Navigator, Convertible Truck: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Navigator, the newest off-road automobile from Daimler-Benz, is the vehicle of choice for the rugged outdoorsman, the stubborn explorer, the far-flung military unit, or the discerning traveler. Coming in Convertible or Hardtop Truck, and Convertible or Hardtop Sedan, the Navigator is equipped with a flat-cylinder V8, all-weather leather seats, removable soft top in the convertibles, ample rear trunk space, a reinforced steel bedrack for holding tools, and locking 4-wheel drive. A steel tow hitch at the back ensures that whatever won't fit in the trunk, you can pull behind you! The Navigator comes in Temple Gray, Sahara Tan, Jungle Green, and Atlantis Blue. This is the rough-and-tumble automobile for all your exploration needs, so pick one up today!** *Available at select Benz dealers in Europe, North America, and Asia. http://www.flickr.com/photos/95309146@N06/27912533148/in/dateposted/ The Navigator model features working steering, opening doors, folding windshield and removable top, plus it seats two minifigs, albeit uncomfortably. I wanted to include suspension and opening hood, but ran out of time and space. :( http://www.flickr.com/photos/95309146@N06/41063623314/in/photostream/ *Promotional images used with permission of Colonel Jacque DeAthos. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you all like it, and may the best Adventurer win! :D
  8. The Black Crow is the ideal adventure 4x4 for the discerning gentleman like Lester looking to travel the world in style and comfort. There is ample storage room in both the back and the roof for all life's necessities. The powerful engine will get you over all terrain and is easily accessed and maintained. A fold-out awning provides shelter from sun and rain alike while you examine the treasures of your travels or enjoy a well earned cup of tea. Adventure Awaits!
  9. Letters Cliff-Top copter is great for scouting out routes through the jungle or flying short distances across lakes or foothills. His toolbox has everything he needs including a nice selection of sandwiches! Lester has stopped here to enjoy the view from above a valley and perform some routine maintenance.
  10. Kasjmir, 1938 My dearest Lester, The news has reached me that you are about to embark on an adventure, how wonderful! It seems you have inherited your father's wanderlust after all, which joys me greatly. He would have been so proud, and so am I. It has been a while since I last saw you, when was it again; before I left for Nepal I suppose? In any case, your uncle is looking forward to explore haunted tombs with you! Alright, enough with the chitter-chatter. You are in need of proper equipment. Travelling India is like a walk in the park, except there are no benches, no paths, more bushes, more mud pools, and all dogs are replaced by tigers and venomous snakes. In all honesty, it matters not what I write down here, I cannot prepare you for all that lies ahead of you. Yet, I do happen to have acquired a globe-worthy vehicle, a Mehadja Inspector no less, from an acquaintance in Delhi. It will get to you in little more than a month, so I advise you to start packing your luggage... See you soon! Kindest regards, your Uncle, Samuel Eon Hi everyone, here is my entry to the Lester contest! It was fun to once again step out of my genre and try something different. I interpreted the content guidelines quite freely: a vehicle that can travel the world, roughly the same theme and scale as the example vehicles. As you can see, it's sort of a jeep-truck. The 7-wide wheelbase and working suspension make this a very terrain-worthy machine, it can do slopes of 40 degrees without tipping over, by far the most fun feature here in my opinion! I hope this is a qualifying entry! More pictures can be found here on Flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskCwM8GW. Thanks for looking!
  11. When the adventure gets tough, it's time to break out the rough-and-tumble Dark Green Jungle Machine! As soon as I started building, I knew I wanted to use dark green as the main color. I included a few details here and there to maintain a connection to the Adventurers theme. See if you can spot them; I've used older pieces as well as newer ones (including old shapes in new colors). In addition to a tail gate, the jeep features working suspension: You can view a demonstration of the suspension feature in my Flickr album!
  12. When traveling around the world, it always seems one has to sacrifice style for substance. Not anymore, with the all-new: All-Terrain Saloon Car This attractive model comes complete with an all-leather interior, opening doors, folding windshield and a rack on top for carrying luggage and cargo (or in this case, a cooler filled with sausages). Inside is enough room for one minifigure, along with some trunk area for suitcases or small parcels. The rubber tires can counter the toughest terrains, while the low-slung body allows for achieving the highest speeds possible. On the back, there is more area for carrying accessories, like a frying pan for camp cooking and a red tail-lantern so cars can't crash into you on the highway. And there we have it, folks: a car that combines both style and substance for a truly enjoyable ride. Pick yours up today and travel the world in style! Feel free to question and comment, and thanks for watching, folks! Always entertaining, always inspiring, always:
  13. Hello Eurobricks! I am Lester and I live in the fine city of London. However, I am about to embark on something of an: I will be travelling around the world! Encountering all sorts of terrain, conquering deserts, exploring jungles and travelling far and wide. To do that I will need some pretty tough vehicles. That is where you come in. Members of Eurobricks, I challenge you to design me a vehicle to make my journey. In reward, I will come and visit the winning vehicle in person! So what do you say? Does anyone have the perfect thing in mind? Oh yes, where are my manners... The runners up will receive a rather spiffy hat for their profile - The rules are as follows: One entry per member. Entries should be no larger than these examples: . Anything reasonable in between the two, they do not have to be as long or as wide. As tall or as low. Just take these two as the sort of scale expected for the contest. I'm looking for details, features and design, not sheer scale. Entries should be new (never posted anywhere previously). All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in their own entry topic in the Action and Adventure Themes forum. The title of the topic should begin with [Lester] and then give the name of the entry. The entry post (first post in your entry topic) may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. Entries are to consist of no more than 3 posted pictures of 1024x768 pixels or smaller resolution but may also include a link to a folder of additional images of any size. The first picture will be used for your entry in the voting thread. Photos of your creation can be manipulated with Photoshop for levels, proportions and colour correction but may not include graphic enhancements. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. Winners will be decided by public vote This contest will run from now until 12:00 GMT+1 (British Summertime) on April 30th. And just to clarify, yes, first place will win an actual physical Lester Minifigure, only available at the London Leicester Square LEGO Store.
