  1. I wanted to create a rounded tower using the hinge plates as a base and moving up from there using 1x2s of various heights. However, I can't get the hinge plates to create a circle with equal quadrants. I want it to be round enough, but not too round. Can someone give me a few sets of angles I could use to do so?

    >MOC< Tinker Bell

Click any image for a larger picture. Tinker Bell is an extremely popular character, originally created by J. M. Barrie, and currently owned by the Walt Disney Company. I believe fans of Disney and LEGO would love to build this rendition of her. In my concept model, her arms, legs, head, and wings can be moved to achieve various poses. I had thought about buying the pieces to build Tinker Bell in real life, but most of her 199 pieces do not yet exist in the colors I chose--such as the Light Nougat (a.k.a. Light Flesh) in her head, arms, and legs. If my concept of Tinker Bell were to be produced, it might be possible to use Brick Yellow (a.k.a. Tan), a more common color, in place of Light Nougat. However, after trying that in LEGO Digital Designer, I noticed that Tinker Bell's skin looked unnatural. In real life, Brick Yellow might look better than it does in LEGO Digital Designer. While designing my concept, I tried to preserve a realistic appearance while still allowing for movement of joints. The arms and head were especially challenging. Although my concept has brick-built eyes, I think custom decals would look better. Feel free to inspect my concept in LEGO Digital Designer. Here is the posed model, and here is a straight standing version. Please vote for my concept on LEGO Ideas. If you have friends and/or relatives that might like this model, please tell them to sign up and vote for it too. Thank you in advance for your support! -Toa Of Justice

    [MOC] Twin-Pod Cloud Car

Hi everyone. It's been quite a while since I last posted a MOC here but having recently started re-watching the Star Wars films, I have been trying my hand at several LDD models. And so, I present to you the Storm IV Twin-Pod Cloud Car. Best known for its appearance in The Empire Strikes Back during the approach to Bespin's Cloud City, this relatively small vehicle was a fair challenge due its smooth, rounded shape which can be quite difficult to replicate in LEGO. Given the vast expansion of rounded LEGO parts created since the release of LEGO's first and only System-scale version of this ship, improving upon their design was not all that difficult. Front & Rear views: As always, I try my best to keep a 'realistic' head on when designing an LDD MOC, meaning that the model should be able to be built using real LEGO parts were they available. Obviously many of the parts used in this MOC aren't available in the colours used, but that's just one of the many advantages that designing in LDD gives! The central grey tiles are not attached - instead they represent stickers that would give the model more detail. Blaster stickers could also be placed on the fronts of each pod. Top: Side: The top of cockpit can be tilted back to reveal an interior on both sides, complete with control panels, steering wheel, seat and crude storage space behind. These are four potential figs that could accompany this vehicle should it be released as a LEGO set. You can vote at the top for which figs you think would best suit this set if LEGO were to release it. Given the model's size, without any scenery or additions, I think two (max of three) figures would be reasonable. The only new moulds that would be necessary in this set would be the Cloud Car Pilot's helmet, released in orange (LDD's Neon Orange used for closest match) with yellow printing down the centre. The figure would have goggles and a chinstrap printed onto his face, similar to a modern Rebel Pilot fig, possibly with a generic face on the reverse side without goggles. He'd have torso and leg printing too, as well as a dark grey blaster pistol. The second fig is the same Lobot fig as seen in set 9678 - minus the blaster. A new curly hairpiece for Lando could be a nice addition to this set, but not an essential one. Lando is, of course, in his Cloud City outfit - an update of this fig. He'd come with a standard blaster. The final figure would be an update of the Bespin Guard figure from set 6209. He would have be a generic guard with a moustached face, based on little known character Helder Spinoza. He would have a printed torso and printed arms and legs, as well as a grey pistol. Below are two potential cockpit designs. I found the cockpit to be the most difficult part of the vehicle to shape. You can vote at the top for which one you prefer. Please complete the polls at the top of this page. Once the best set idea has been established I will upload the model to LEGO Ideas and add a link here for you to show your support. LXF File Thanks for looking.
  6. LDD is great for creating static animations. However, are there skeletal animations for minifigs as well? Can they be hacked from one of TLG's many video games?

    Battle Mech

Hi all, My second MOC on Eurobricks. I designed and completed this build whilst working on my larger galleon MOC. I enjoyed collecting and building the LEGO Exo-Force line with my sons, though both they and I really wanted a more Western themed range, something more along the lines of FASA and the Battletech universe. The inspiration for this build should be obvious. It was not designed to be an exact replica, rather a build that pays homage to the source, whilst still presenting as unique LEGO model. The piece count is 520. The cockpit removes easily, attached by Technic pins. I have realized the build in olive and dark green. I would prefer to see the dark green replaced with dark tan, giving the model a more militant and 'earthy' feel, as shown in this LDD render. Not all of the parts required are available in dark tan. I submitted it as a LEGO idea model - because I would like to see TLG start a similar themed mech line and because it would be nice to get the required parts in dark tan LDD file: Battle Mech.lxf

    Fairground Dodgems

Seeing the new 10244 Fairground Mixer set made my excited, and the idea of an amusement park ride being mobile is brilliant. I thought it will be quite a challenge to continue what TLG started and design something similar. Here is what I came up with: Fairground dodgems The whole thing can be packed onto a truck and assemble on site. The two half of the building is attached using clips. As the total area covered is quite big, it has no floor- use it on flat surface! The Technic axles on top help the whole structure being more stable while traveling. With three cars and a ticket booth. The truck is basically the 3221 LEGO City Truck. I wanted to concentrate on the dodgems.

    MOC - Fairground accessories

Hi to everyone, Since the press release of 10244 Fairground Mixer my love for amusement parks/fairgrounds flared up once again.I loved designing the rides and shops for Roller-coaster Tycoon, and now I want to continue that road somehow. The set gave a great idea of traveling fairground so I designed a movable dodgem ride, and then I planned to continue with some “accessories”. For inspiration I visited the usual market in my hometown. The town of Debrecen hosts the Saint Michael’s Day market twice a year, in May and in late September/early October. A few blocks of the town is a huge (some kms long) market at this weekend, where sellers of clothes/shoes/dishes/candies/you-name-it try to sell their goods. A small fairground is part of the fun too. The following, smaller “activities” are regularly seen in these market: Ice cream motorcycle (How the ice-cream section is connected to the motorcycle section) Candy floss stand Indian musicians These guys always appear at the market. I don’t know how many such group travels around Europe, or even the same people come back each year (twice), but their music is an integral part of the market, and I love to listen to them.

    Community - LDD MOC

Community I've found this series in this February accidentally on a LEGO forum (not here), when someone recommended it as an underestimated series. Community? I've never heard of it. It is not a very unique title, something that is easy to forget. But let's give it a try. And BOOM, my life has been changed! How come I never came across this pearl of a series for 5 years? It was nothing I've ever seen before! This series is insane, and cannot be compared to anything else. Everyone (okay, almost everyone) is like a cartoon figure in live action TV series. I cannot describe it, if you know it and love it, you know what I mean. I spent a wonderful 4 months watching the episodes (mostly only 1 episode a day, just to lengthen the joy as much as possible). Then I heard that the show has been cancelled after 5 years. It's rumored that it has a slight chance to survive on another channel, so let's hope. Six seasons and a movie! The study group. Another important announcement by the Dean. Not all these LEGO parts exist in these colors, sadly.

  13. Hi to all, Now that there are plenty of torsos in LDD that can be selected easily, there are too many of them. And they are so little in the palette, that it is hard to see which one is which. Does anyone have an lxf file with all the torsos already selected? It would easier to search that file. I started one, but it would take hours to do that, and if someone else did the job already, I won't. So, I made myself an lxf file (actually two) which contains all the torso decals that are readily available in LDD. I hope I didn't make any mistake. Everything else in the next post.

EB Pirates, After replaying 2009's POTC Lego video game, I've decided to rebuild 10210 with a more realistic design. I will be adding various modules and recoloring much of the ship. This is a WIP; any suggestions appreciated! https://www.dropbox....hip (10210).lxf

  17. Hi folks, i'm working on this model and i did a first proper rendering with LDD to POVray and POVray 3.7 Here's the result: Generally i am satisfied with these first results quite a bit, but there are a couple issues that i do not know how to solve: - parts with "silver drum lacq" color - like the tubes on the bumper and the step bar, as well as the wheels don't have the smooth shiny finish, instead they have that abrasive/grainy look typical to the old sloped bricks - how do i change this back to normal? - "silver" color is constantly converted to what appears like light grey - hard to tell, as there are many grey variations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and best regards, VintageCharlie
  18. The Beauties of Hungary: part 2 – Heroes’ square Name: Millenium Monument on Heroes’ Square – Hősök tere, Milleniumi emlékmű Location: Budapest Piece count: 457 The Heroes’ Square is a major square in Budapest. In the centre of the square is the Millennium Monument, which has been finished by 1906 – ten years after the millennial celebration of the Foundation of Hungary. The central element of the monument is a column with Archangel Gabriel atop holding the sacred crown of Hungary in his hands. The base of the column is surrounded by the equestrian statues of the seven leaders of Hungary, with Árpád in the middle. Behind the columns are two colonnades each with seven statues representing great figures of Hungarian history. The list of these figures has been changed several times in the course of time.
  19. The Beauties of Hungary: part 3 – Votive Church of Szeged Name: Votive Church of Szeged - Szegedi fogadalmi templom Location: Szeged Piece count: 673 The church was built by pledge after the city’s escape from the great flood in 1879. Szeged has been hit by several floods of the Tisza River. Construction began in 1913, but due to the outbreak of the First World War, it was not completed until 1930. Part 1 – University of Debrecen, main building Part 2 – Heroes’ square
  20. Hi Folks . After a break of few years (study, first job and more ...) I'm trying to come back slowely to the Lego sphere ... And to celebrate this come back, I'm happy today to show you my first LDD Moc : A 60018 set based Snowplow . After have downloaded the official set made on LDD on theses forum (what a list, a lot of set!), I've modified 90% of the truck, to obtain what I want. The spreader platform behind the cab is removable to put a other platform (skip, etc...) For the moment we can say that 90% of the MOC is done. I want to improve the front snow blade who's not exactly the same as in real life (for the moment of course) . When the last modifications will be done, the MOC will go in "production" by buying the bricklist shown by LDD to create it. You can see some pictures below, I hope you will enjoy them and sorry if I've made some mistake, my English is not perfect I will post updates regarding this moc just below this message, keep an eye here in the future
  21. I was searching forum for MOC but no results appeared, so my question is: is here some post dealing just with MOC models that I was unable to find or can I start my own later around it...or is it somewhat prohibited maybe and therefor no MOC topics?
  22. Ever since the new parts update, I've had a problem with the palette. Normally I work by selecting a color filter, but the palette is too big to display on my screen and doesn't seem to scroll in any way. Screen Shot 2014-05-14 at 9.00.42 AM by chbenito, on Flickr I've poked around the various settings, but I can't find any way to limit the color options. Because of the way the palette displays, I don't have access to any of the common colors. I can still turn off the palette and select colors through the sub menu, but that will take some getting used to (and it runs slowly on my older computer). Is anyone else having this problem? Is there some way to work around it? I build in the basic mode (not extended). Help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  23. Hi folks, i installed POVray and LDD2POVray and am rendering a model i made. The process will probably take a very long time, especially parts where more than one transparent bricks are together take ages on each runthrough, which amasses a lot of time. I chose POVray, as it seemed to be the easiest alternative, as i do not have much experience wirh 3d software and i wold like this to be as simple of a process as possible. But the rendering time is enormous. Are there any alternatives with equal results and simplicity, but faster rendering times? Thanks in advance! Regards, VintageCharlie

    Starcraft Lego Game (Kinda)

Hi Guys, I'm a (very) amateur filmmaker. A friend and I are both devoted Starcraft, Lego and movie fans and we are hoping to combine the three... So we are looking to make a short film that will essentially be Starcraft but in Lego! Essentially replacing all the units and maps with their Lego equivalent. To be clear, we aren't making the game itself, just a short film that looks as though it is a game of Lego Starcraft and only about 2 minutes long. We will be using digital models for most of the units by clipping out images from LDD and then using Adobe After Effects/Photoshop and Premiere to animate them as if being played. Pretty cool eh? We are on the way with a rough idea of how things will play out but I thought I'd check with the community to see if any of you master builders would like to help out? We are going to start building our models soon and any help would be so damn...helpful! We aren't doing this for profit of any kind, it'll be something that we can put on youtube and we can all share with our friends and, of course, everyone gets a credit! So if you can help with models and .lxf files of Terrans and Zerg/Protoss (we're going to see what's more convincing out of the two before we commit to either one.) then please get in touch! If nothing else it would be great to hear what the community thinks of this (if theres an interest, then I'll keep people updated and share the video at the end!) Cheers! Roscoe
  25. Hello, I recently installed LDD for the first time on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I notice anytime I start it, it says "Installing Bricks" and downloads over 159.50 MB of data out of 159.93 MB... But it never reaches the end, it always stops before the end and says "Bricks Download Failed" with the message "LDD cannot access the web server to retrieve new bricks.Do you want to run in offline mode?" And I have to hit Yes to use the software, hitting No closes it. I've manually added the exe file to the Winodws Firewall exemption list. I've Googled but only finding questions from years ago about an older version- does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem?
