    Legions of the Damned

Hello everybody, this is my first MOC presented here. Hope you will like it. ;) I really want to build something like that for a whole year. I was playing Heroes V during Fall 2017 and I was astonished how good was the design od Inferno units. Finally found some time (and I was out of yellow parts so couldn't increase my WH40k Orkz army :P ) and started to build... and after several days it was ready. :D Those army is inspired by many computer games I played or used to played when I was younger. Mainly Heroes V but also Disciples II (that's where the title comes from), Diablo and - of course - Khorne aspect of Chaos from Warhammer. Imp highly inspired by basic Inferno unit from Heroes V. Summoner. I don't remember when and where I spotted that arms technique. It was many years ago and it was bad guy from Orient Expedition: China. Two demonic Gargoyles. Figbarf. I'm not so sure about the black guy on the right. Basically, he seems to black for me. Need to work with him a bit, maybe add some dk red. Chariot. I really enjoy burning mane effect I got. :) Demonic Wyvern mounted by a Warlock. At Flickr I was asked about another angle, thought that was good idea,so here you are. Horned Demon that started whole army. And the "family picture": Check my Flickr account for more. C&C welcome. ;)
  2. This model was originally inspired by three sets: 3817 (Flying Dutchman) from the Spongebob Squarepants theme, set 4184 (The Black Pearl) from Pirates of the Caribbean, and 21322 (Pirates of Barracuda Bay), from Ideas. It features three and a 1/2 masts with what are going to be fabric sails of Black Pearl size but of 2010 Imperial Flagship markings. The 2016 Ninjago "Skybound" flag (see below) will fly from the middle mast as Captain Henry Walker's pirate flag. The ship also has a crows nest and two removable sections: a rear upper deck for access to the captain's cabin and a forward deck panel for getting at the front four cannons. (there are eight cannons total on the ship) Here is the rear of the ship featuring the captain's cabin windows and a trio of lanterns. The ship's name, the Inferno, goes in printed 1 x 1 tiles on the exposed gray studs on the rear of the ship. The rowboat sits on a section of deck that easily comes off for access to the cannons. The roof of the captain's cabin is removable, with a table and chair for Captain Walker to sit at and read maps. Captain Henry Walker (in green) and his crew. The pirate flag of the Captain Walker. (This picture was taken from Bricklink's catalog and is NOT mine. It's from the 2016 Ninjago Skybound wave.) NOTES: I'm working on getting this built in real life, since my last ship is so unreasonably expensive to build in real life it's ridiculous. (Thus this one is better, as it less expensive / parts intensive) I'm gonna need help on the sails, so I'm asking @Alazon, would you mind helping me with these please? They would be in Black Pearl sizes, but in 2010 imperial flagship style colors? Comments, questions, and complaints are always welcome!
  3. This strange, pixelated-looking ship has sailed the digital seas and plundered many a helpless Minecraft village. Life was good for it's three man crew, but a chance encounter with a User Exit Portal (think like TRON) sent the pirate ship Inferno into the real world, albeit still in it's 8-bit form. Now, stuck in an unfamiliar world with strange logic, (Round surfaces? What is this deviltry!?!) the crew of the Inferno with it's Captain will have to navigate a way back to their computer paradise from the modern Pacific Ocean using 18th-century techniques. You may have noticed that some parts are missing decorations, including the cubed skeleton heads at the rear of the ship and the black pirate emblems on the sails. Also missing is the four dark bluish gray connectors between the masts and ship base. (two pieces per mast) I have removed the flick-fire missile / cannons as designed in set 21152, as I detest those parts. Let's just say the cannon's are just too small to see at this scale. The ship breaks into three parts for storage, and comes with a plank for walking people into a watery grave that slides left and right. (It is located in the middle section.) The ship also breaks up for use on the skull island part I did not use from the original set, as the ship can look like it's wrecked there. Does this sound familiar? It should, as the Pirates of Barracuda Bay (set 21332) uses the same principle about one year later! If you don't believe me, check out this Brickset link to the set, under more images. It will show you the alternate way to display the set. This is the Captain of the ship, One-Eyed Willy. He also does doctoring and is good at it. (most of the time) This is the first mate / cook, a mister Barbarossa. (this is from before the Black Pearl caught his eye and he deserts Willy to join a certain Captain Sparrows' crew.) ...and then we have the gunner / navigator, Long John Silver. (His navigating is what get's Willy trapped in a cave where the some children find the Inferno 200 years later. As for Mr. Silver, he slips away before the battle starts in a rowboat to the shore.) NOTE: the last three pictures (the figure ones) are taken from Bricklink! Any questions or comments? I plan on building this very soon, as I can't afford the big pirate set coming out April 1st, so this will have to do...
  4. We had been posting updates to our Inferno HQ separately and it was suggested that they might be easier to follow in a single thread. We agreed, so we're making this new post to consolidate everything into a single location. Each post/update will be started with its own heading showing the date. We've just cut and pasted the existing posts into this thread and eliminated the repetitive links to our pages on Flickr & MOC-Pages. Please click away if you'd like to see more of any particular update but as this continues to grow we'll leave those out as they're right here at the top if you need them. As always, we certainly appreciate you checking in on our progress and invite any comments and thoughts you may have. Enjoy! FIRST POST - 7 APR 2016 Godwins Hollow (our LEGO City) was originally started strictly as background for the ongoing struggle between the Agents and Inferno's henchmen. Over the many years that we've been working on our city we always pushed the actual Agent's HQ and Inferno HQ aside in favor of further fleshing out the city itself. However, after years of fiddling with it in LDD and a handful of proofs of concepts we have finally started building the Inferno HQ. We've started with the lowest level and hope to eventually have fully developed floors underneath the mountain and a partially transformable castle/attack post on top of the mountain. This is still in the VERY early stages but there are places to park the mechs and the hover jeeps. The interior of this hangar bay will be a mix of interior rock facing and more standard 'hangar bay' walls. Anyways, just wanted to throw this out here. UPDATE 1 - 25 APR 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 2 - 3 SEP 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 3 - 19 SEP 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 4 - 22 OCT 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 5 - 15 MAY 2017 So this has been a REALLY long-term project of ours but we're finally making some progress. Godwins Hollow was originally conceived as the place that the LEGO Agents would defend from the menacing henchmen of INFERNO! All respectable evil-doers need a secret lair and this is the start of theirs! Once it's completed we're hoping to have two full levels underneath the mountain, trap doors revealing weapon systems, launch bays, and all of the other despicable stuff an Inferno HQ should have. Once you scroll thru the pics below you'll be able to see we've made some significant progress on the base level both inside and out. The main hover jeep garage, mountain exit, and repair bay are all in place. There is a personnel elevator to take you to the command center and eventually on to the next underground level, and two mech bays for the Inferno mechs. So please take a look at what we've done so far and feel free to leave any feedback you'd like. Enjoy! UPDATE 6 - 21 MAY 2017 Our Inferno HQ is still moving along. The ground level to the mountain base is almost finished and we've moved on to one of the key areas of the second level - the hoverjet launch pad. The face of the mountain will open up to allow the launch pad to extend outside of the main bay area so the hoverjets can launch and be retrieved. There is a small control deck immediately adjacent to the launch pad and the hover jets themselves are stored vertically on automated transport drones. UPDATE 7 - 26 MAY 2017 Today's update is a little proof of concept for the transforming towers that will make up the castle ruin on top of Inferno HQ's mountain. This is our first castle build of any kind and while we are pleased with the result it may be fiddled with before the castle is finalized. As you can see the tower conceals the Inferno cannon which could easily hold Godwins Hollow ransom if the Agents don't keep things in check. Again, thanks for taking a look and your thoughts and comments are welcome. 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr
