    [MOC] Modern Living (Complete)

Hi all! I've completed my contemporary modular MOC and dubbed it "Modern Living"! I've also made an exploded view, updated renders all around and a presentation video. 2. I wanted to share my Ideas project here in case anyone here is interested :) Here's a link to the project page: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/83a85a3e-6bb5-449a-a4a2-3aa99a304612 I tried to match the interiors o the show as best I could. Hope everyone likes it! (All Images rendered in Blender using Mecabricks' Blender add-on and on-site part creator)
  3. I'd like to draw some attention to an Idea that has been gathering support at a steady pace for a while now. From, @paokus, the creator of The Pirate Bay (which was made into the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set!), comes 'The Sword of the Seas': If you like this Idea, and would like to see it made into an official Lego set, then please follow the link and support it on Ideas!
  4. In relation to Lego Ideas: - Topics' limits: ethical, reasonable - 1% royalties: unethical, they should be - at least - 10% - 3 years to sell instructions after rejection: unethical, the designers should be able to regain possession of their own ips immediately after the deadline's expiration or the refusal - Rejecting a model because of internal development: understandable, however ethical only if the model is rejected in the bud or in the very early stage of support's gathering - Selling a model which shares many similarities with a submitted idea: debatable, related to the outcomes of the previous point, overall unethical and counterproductive in term of brand image. Since coincidences are hard to prove, the idea's designer should receive some benefits.
  5. Hello everyone and thank you for letting me in :) I'm a 49 yr old guy from Norway that has not built much Lego in my life unfortunately, But I *really* see the value in it for my 9 yr old son, and I'd like him to spend less time gaming and more time building Lego. So I went online and bought some Lego motors, axels, bushings and gears, but I'm not very good at this (crap infact :D ) and it seems we both could use some beginner-tips on where to start. I'm looking for VERY simple builds/tips perhaps combining two motors somehow ? (I tried to search on these forums and keep ending up in massively complex builds that makes my jaw drop but alas) :) Thanks again folks!

    [MOC] Erling Records

Go crate-digging in the most famous record store in town! Hello everyone! This is not actually my MOC but my brother's. I'm so glad I finally managed to turn him (at least temporarily) to the dark side !! Anyway, I helped him around so it also counts. He was super hyped when he saw the "Music to our ears!" contest in Lego Ideas especially by the chance of a proposal becoming a set without the required 10.000 votes. He managed to create two entries in the given timeframe for it: a Jazz Club and this record store. The first entry was more of a warm-up to this second entry which is more refined and better. The main idea was to build a record store in a similar scale to this beautiful build by César Soares, somewhere in the miniland scale. He initially wanted to build it in minifigure scale, but I insisted in this larger, more unique scale to be able to add more details and to have an overall more impressive model. One of my inputs was building the main façade at an angle (for those who know me... who would've thought, right? ). We used the same technique used in the Ideas Friends Central Perk to angle the wedge plates. It works fabulously. Using such a back wall also enabled him to have a full exterior. I think this was such a good idea. The entry is reminiscent of the London Underground entrances by Leslie Green with the nice dark red tiling and blue signage. One of the aspects of the build I personally had most fun was doing the decorations for the posters on the walls. I came up with some of the ideas and puns. Billund Road, City of Brickminster... Erling Records itself... They're super fun. We also put a version of a 1980s Lego advert on the wall outside. Help us turn this idea into an official Lego set! [MOC] Lego Birthday Card

Hi! This is my Lego Birthday Card. It is made entirely of Lego (obviously) except a paper part to write on. It is very customisable- I hope you guys like it! [MOC] Motorized Free Fall Tower

After I built Pirate Ship Ride last year, I've just completed my new project - Free Fall Tower! I always want to construct a minifigure scale thrill ride and make it fully automated model without any manual control or mindstome programming. Spec of the Free Fall Tower: Maximum capcity: 12 minifigures Length: 32 x 32 Studs (not include motor and gear box) Structural Height : 65 cm Drop Height: 54 cm How it works Gear Box serves 3 main functions: 1) Generating pull power It will pull rope which connected passenger car so the car can be lifted up. 2) Looping 2 gear modes First "pull mode" & Second "neutral mode". gear box will keep looping between two modes in a fixed time period. Pull mode will lift up the car and neutral mode will stop giving pull power so the car will drop. 3) Reducing drop speed The main axle connects to a high scale gear. When the car drop, the main axle will make the high scale gear spin really fast and it will generate a reverse force to the main axle for reducing the main axle spin speed. As a result, the drop will slow down. (Just imagine you are playing beyblade) I've submitted it to LEGO IDEAS, if you like my work, please vote: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a3b37789-0467-4252-9adb-2d7ab44c27a5 Thank you!

  10. i have been busy these last few months on many prjects that i will be submitting to lego ideas, such as the Lighthouse and Guard house you may of seen on here, whilst uploading those i noticed that Pirates of the caribbean was once again allowed back to lego ideas, many people have been making ships - which honestly was my plan too but then i thought what was my favourite and most visually stunning scene and for me it was the Maelstrom Duel between The Black Pearl vs The Flying Dutchman so i decided to take a shot and recreating that here in my submission, i think it would make a really good display piece for anyone who is a fan of ships as well as PotC and id like to think it is unique enough to stand out (movie concept art) also an alt version im not sure which i prefer

    A-Team Van - Lego Ideas

After seeing that the A-team licence is now allowed back on lego ideas i have decided to clean up my old build, it takes inspiration from a few different vehicle builds, quite a lot of trucks, I originally built a version of this in 2018 after seeing a MOC by Willem G and Kevin8, their vans were the main inspiration especially for the tilt on the side panels (i have credited him for this amazing solution in my Ideas submission), i took their models apart and rebuilt them using my own techniques and details to hopefully make a better version, but over the years lego parts have changed a lot and so have techniques, so after a couple of years of messing around and looking at other techniques used on other builds of this van i am happy to present my version of this iconic vehicle, i believe thanks to the culmination of many MOCs, styles and builds ive seen over the years that this is one of the more screen accurate builds, one thing i think might be a little off is the front light bar, i think the parts i used were too thick, and as of yet i dont have the parts to build this so im unsure but i think the rear wheel/axle part might be an illegal build as it may put stress on the axle however i cant find out yet At the moment i am desiging the prints for each of the minifigures in photoshop, i think i will use the Mr T from Lego Dimensions maybe just adding so leg detail if anyone has any suggestions for the bull bars on the front please let me know or are they fine as it is?

  14. IDEA submitted by JasonsBrickStop, it was discovered and linked by @leafan in the pirate section previously. I've invited Jason to join us, it seems he did not have the time or the intention to do so yet. Still, I think this build is truly such an underrated gem within IDEAS that it deserves an own thread. I'd like to summarize some personal opinions on pros and cons about this as an IDEAS submission. I have mostly positive view of course, but as it only stands with ~500 votes at the moment I try to list some things why it might be wrongfully underperforming despite it's greatness and potential. Pros: It is actually very well scaled in piece count, nothing unrealistic to instantly eliminate itself from competition Great combination of newer elements with oldschool atmosphere Pretty astonishing design with lots of different play features and scenes, color scheme is diverse but organic - something what Lego would do itself to make it noticeable The build is a little bit of everything, obviously a jungle but also some pirates/oriental theme. Not too much but far from boring and empty. It is Adventurers so one of the coolest things a Lego set can ever become, period Cons: It is Adventurers, sadly Lego has a questionable motivation and even reputation with rebooting themes. Also today's kids don't really have any emotional links to this theme, that might cause the lower performance (or just not enough publicity) I'm not sure of the figs, they are pretty nice for templating the historical atmosphere, but too many overused parts from older sets (I guess customizing them is just not 100% priority) Without proper lore explanation this might remain a great theme concept instead of an individual IDEAS set. I'm still hoping Jason is going to accept the invitation and will share us some insight about his motivation and standpoints while building this great idea. Also discussions of any detail would be quite welcomed. I personally think this is one of the most careful and sophisticated designs I have ever seen as an attempt to revive an old but also ageless classic.

  18. Hello, I'm new on the forum and would like to show my new model for LEGO Ideas: Rake in the Lake - Untitled Goose Game. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2bcb743a-1071-4f44-89f4-97ad6ec27b5d Description: Untitled Goose Game - Made to make you happy. Building, or even looking at the set just makes you happy, that is the mindset behind it. Combining that idea with Untitled Goose Game seemed like the perfect opportunity. I designed it as a fun playset in mind so children can easily build it, but it turned out as a great looking model too. I've put a lot of time into designing this just right, so I hope you like it. The set has a rotating plate which the goose can "swim" on. The farmer can actually sit on the bench while having some of hir gear in his pouch. He can stick his rake in the ground next to the bench. The bit of garden on top of the waterfall can be removed and played with too. If you look closely, it has an egg hidden under the plants and a carrot for the goose to be bold with. If you hold the goose in one hand, steadily sneak up to the farmer, and press the orange button with the other; you might get some HONKS out of him. (Sound Effect) The blue on the bottom of the set is sea-through (pun intended), you can sea some sealife doing their busy sea life things. The waterfall itself can be moved too. It'll reveal a small cave where the goose hides his marvelous treasure. He has to get it out of the basket under the bench first though. About that silly goose, he can carry that rake with his beak as well as his movable wings (or flap-flaps). And yes, you can put the Rake in the Lake.

  23. "There is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do" - Henry Ford (Description below is taken from project page on Ideas) "The prototype of this project, Ford Model T was not the first car ever built, neither it was the most powerful, fast, beautiful and so on... It was revolutionary because of its availability, making the concept of automobile the one we know today - a vehicle, more or less affordable for highest amount of people possible, not a luxury for the chosen ones. That is why I have chosen Tin Lizzie - it's simply iconic. Since there is a plenty of variations of Model T, I ended up making the collective image of it without sticking to any exact modificaton, but trying to follow the last, 1927 version of it - wheels' choice was probably the hardest part because of the original, since there aren't any tires that narrow. However, the overall look of Lizzie is still recognizable. Being a huge fan of vehicles myself, I grab every new set of Creator Expert car as soon as it's possible - but one day I just decided to try my skills in making my own model, that's how this project has been born. Adjusted to scale of already existing vehicles, this set could be a nice addition to the collection and a good gift for other many cars' enthusiasts. Since I'm planning to develop the project, the updates will be coming without any doubt - the final target is to manage to improve the model as much as possible and to build a real version of it, so stay tuned :) Thanks in advance to every single supporter and everyone who stopped to look at this project!" Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day! :)

    Lego Ideas

Hi, I have recently just got back into building my own lego creations and have submitted an idea on the Lego Ideas website. There seems to be alot of emphasis around gathering your own support and I was just wondering if anyone here would know how I would go about doing this. I think the idea is a fairly good one but I just don't really know how to go about gathering support for it (or if it actually makes any difference). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
