    [MOC] HGTV Dream Home 2019

Howdy all! For this year's Brickworld 2019, I decided to build the HGTV 2019 Dream Home from Whitefish, Montana. First time really building anything town related as I am mostly a castle builder. Anywho, enjoy!
  2. Celebrate the historic neoclassic home of one of America’s most famous Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson! Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello home began construction in 1768, when he was only 26 years old. America’s third president was never fully satisfied with his design, and the house was continually redesigned throughout his lifetime - not so unlike Lego fanatics constantly reworking their own builds. This microscale Monticello has been meticulously and faithfully rendered to capture the unmistakable appearance of the iconic building, known to all Americans as “that building on the back of the nickel coin.” The 930-piece set would appeal to lovers of Lego’s Architecture series, and would also contain highly sought after dark red pieces that have never before been produced. The design could also be scaled down to remove the some of the landscaping (the house by itself contains under 650 pieces). If you love architecture, history, and Lego, I would be forever thankful for your support on Lego Ideas! @BenBuildsLego | Flickr

    (MOC) Hagrid's Hut

Hagrid's Hut 1 by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr Hagrid's Hut 2 by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr Hagrid's Hut 3 by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr Hagrid's Hut 4 by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr Hagrid's Hut 5 by Nicholas Goodman, on Flickr This is my custom Lego Harry Potter Hagrid's Hut. This was my submission to the Lego Wizarding World build competition. These are the photos I submitted and as one of the requirements of the contest no minifigures were permitted but I plan on taking a few with Hagrid and Fang and potentially Harry Ron and Hermione.
  4. The goal here was to build a MC80 flagship for my Rebel fleet that was: a) As closely to scale as possible with 6211 Star Destroyer. b) Larger (longer) than any of my other Rebel capital ships i.e. Phoenix Home or Tantive IV. The result is below, a build I will continue to preen and cycle out better parts/colors for. I think there should be a smattering of more small orange pieces. I am more concerned with how it looks on the shelf now than with any screen accurate considerations. But it does scale very nicely with the Star Destroyer so far (pic to come). The engines are a little... large. Truth is, those blue minifig stands for Lego Dimensions are way more useful to me in a build like this. I will likely shrink the main rear engines somehow but I also need to figure out how to add the other dual engine pods on either side behind each large shuttlebay. There isn't any inside space, but I do display it with my A Wings, B Wings and next to the bridge part of 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser so it looks good with lots of Rebels hanging out in front of it. Would like to hear any suggestions builders may have on improving it. I was only using my spare parts for this so I could certainly invest in some better components for it someday. Thanks for looking.
  5. So, I've attempted my first Modular. I was limited by the bricks I have, (and a couple of bricks seem to have somehow fallen off), but it's the right dimensions to fit alongside the official Modular Buildings. Just wondering what thoughts/advice people may have to help me improve my modular building skills? So, here's the house And the people and animals who live there There's an open plan living area on the ground floor With a kitchen area A downstairs WC & a place to sit Going up the stairs, we reach the bedroom area There's an en suite shower & a balcony with Jaccuzzi From there, we can access the roof terrace Where the minifigures like to hold barbecue parties I used transparent coloured bricks where appropriate to let in light but retain privacy

    Suburban home

Here's a small Moc I've been working on most of the summer, a American suburban house. I also made an ad for fun to test out my editing skills; Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
  7. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

    Solar Porch

A replica of the solar porch on the front of my house. It's where all my LEGO MOCs have been photographed, so it has a special significance to my LEGO hobby: See more pictures on my website: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=3903 Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated.

    MOC : Modern Style Home

Hello Eurobricks! I've had this MOC laying around for a while and I'm just getting around to showing it. Sorry about the photos as they're not the best quality, but they'll do. Starting with the outside, a lot of details are present, most notably the pool, outdoor shower, palm tree, awnings, stonework, grill tile pattern, outdoor bar, and of course all that glass! Also, I tried to put a variety of textures and colors to really bring out that modern look. Let's have a look at the inside The interior is full of colors, which really brings it to life. There is a lot going on too. Squeezed in there is a living room, dining area, kitchen, stairwell, computer desk, and even another bedroom. I forgot to take a picture of the dining table, but you can kind of see it in the picture above. Wow, look at that Han in cabonite poster! This kid also appears to like action figures. As you can see in the kitchen, the glass can fold in accordion style to serve outdoor guests at the bar and bring the outdoors in a little, which is something I wanted to add. The upstairs features 2 child bedrooms, a master bedroom, a work desk, a laundry room, and a bathroom. Again, very squeezed in. Not much going on in the girl's bedroom, just some perfumes and furniture and stuff. Looks like the other kid likes LEGO. Cool! He's got his Modulars, stack-ons, and shelf of MOCs. Here is the master bedroom. There is a dresser, walk-in closet, bookshelf, rug, side tables, and of course the big ol' bed! Here's a view of the whole top floor from above so you can get everything in perspective. Sorry I didn't do this with the ground floor, but I think you can forgive me. That's all folks! C&C welcome.

[HSH] Cat A - Alien Cottage

Aliens need a warm and cozy home too - with a smoking chimney and a loving mommy, no matter how different they are from us. The "mommy", a.k.a. the Queen The "older brother", a.k.a. the worker, feeding some domesticated Insectoid The mommy spends most of her time watching "TV" and laying larva. alien terrain Family Portrait If you aren't disgusted by my entry yet, check out more pics here. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=542232
  12. Hello Eurobrickers, I would like to present to you my entry for the Contest: Free Build. I have entered it in the entry topic, this one is just for C+C enjoy! It is a 32 x 48 modular building as my dream house would be to live in a LEGO city, much like Emmet... But this house could also exist in the real world. I chose a modular because I like living in the city, although I enjoy living in a house at the moment, I think I would enjoy living in a more populated area with lots of buildings around. Anyway, enough chatter, here's some pictures. (Please excuse some pictures are rendered and some are not, the picture of the middle floor is taking forever) So here it is! There are only a handful of bricks that are either really expensive on Bricklink or that aren't made, but they are easily replaced with a similar colour should I ever have the money to brick build it. I have also taken a couple of short cuts with the floors but i was just being lazy, they would just need a bit of reinforcement and maybe a few different size plates to make in real bricks. Features here are the verandah on the bottom floor to sit on and watch the world pass by and the balcony on the top floor for a similar purpose from a bird's eye view. And the back, featuring a back garden for my cats (you may notice lots of cats, I love cats and my dream home would involve lots of them), a small swimming pool and a nice tree to take shade under for outdoor dining. Left: This is the kitchen, plenty of bench space and a very big fridge, I like food although you have to be careful when using the top right hob, sometimes the curtain catches on fire Right: This is the living room with a cosy fireplace and two large comfy couches. Here is the best part of the house, the whole middle floor is a dedicated LEGO room. As you can see, there is a large train/city layout. I have tried to include as many sets as possible including three train sets, 4 creator houses, 5 modulars, and many more classic sets which may be harder to figure out but anyway, you get the idea There is also a building table next to the chimney, this has a lamp of course as well draws containing all the spare parts and it seems my minifig self is working on a purple modular which is seen in The LEGO Movie. Also there is a table tennis table, but I stole its design from the Fire Brigade modular, I just really like table tennis! And finally, this is the top floor, which contains the bedroom and bathroom (out of picture on the bottom left) and the TV room with another cosy fireplace and a couple of bean bags to sink into and watch my fav shows Also this is the floor from which the balcony is accessible. There's a photo of the bed and bathroom on my flickr account, as well as non-rendered versions of everything. LXF File: available on the entry topic! Anyway, I hope you like it and good luck to all contest entries, I really enjoyed building this and now I have a blue print for my dream home Cheers, Tim.

  14. Browsing the web once I saw pictures of a staircase banister and railing that someone had built out of LEGO as part of a professional interior design makeover and thought "I WANT ONE!!!!". Now I'm finally in a place I can do it, space wise, so... The LEGO-less banister and the first pile of bricks. The first lot of bricks after some playing to get the colours looking ok. Originally I was going to use more colours than just red, yellow and blue but it looked too fussy. Some more colours will appear further up, especially when my kids get involved. After a few more BrickLink orders it's looking much better. The large bricks are from the LEGO Discovery Center in Manchester and help disguise the bits where this wall of bricks ties to the uprights of the banister. So far it's not shown any sign of wanting to fall off as I've walked up the stairs so fingers crossed! I've got a few hundred more bricks to add, and more on the way, so I'll try and post more pics at the weekend. The best part is I live in a three storey house so I've got another set of stairs - if anyone has a pile of white 1 x 6 bricks going spare, let me know :-)
