    Hogwarts Castle (Lego Architecture)

Hi everyone! There's a contest going on over at the German forum Imperium der Steine challenging us to build our own Architecture style models. There are three categories, the first two being Skylines and Actual Buildings but for the third one we are to build fictional skylines or buildings! As I am a big Harry Potter fan Hogwarts was the first thing I could think of. Lego Architecture: Hogwarts Castle by Kit Bricksto, on Flickr I am really happy with how it turned out but I'd love to hear your opinions and I am of course open to criticism too!
  2. Harry Potter in Lego Dimensions wave 6! Harry and Lord Voldemort were the only 2 released at this time… Boo! Hopefully Hermione, Ron, Draco, Professor Snape, and many other memorable Wizardlings will make their appearances as well. But for now, let us enjoy their presence in the world of Hogwarts in Lego Dimensions. A video detailing their attributes - http://bit.ly/lego-dimensions-hp Cheers!

  6. Leaving from Kings Cross' Platform 9 & 3/4 to Hogsmeade Station at exactly 9 AM, this train carries students (and sometimes faculty) to and from Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft & Wizardry in the Harry Potter series of books and movies. NOTE: Students leaving school (for reasons including Christmas vacation or expulsion) are subject to leaving on the Hogwarts express. The Express is made up of four corridor coaches though sometimes a special fifth coach is attached with an open floor plan. The train is supplied with all kinds of goodies and sweets, from Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans to Chocolate Frogs. The locomotive is a 4-6-0 (that means 4 leading, 6 driving, 0 trailing) Hall class steam engine built by the Great Western Railway and later used by Hogwarts Railways. It is named Hogwarts Castle and numbered 5972, which is something of an irony as the Hall class is closely related to the Castle class of steam engines, so "It's the Hall that thinks it's a Castle". Four BR Mark 1 coaches painted in Hogwarts Railways colors. The coaches include two corridor coaches, one corridor guard's coach, and a baggage coach. The end car is not accurate the the films, but it is what I prefer compared to the alternative: a gangway leading nowhere with no red light on the end. This locomotive is a heavily modified version of LDDModelmaker's Black 5 model with some parts from set 79111, Constitution Train Chase. The numbers 5 9 7 2 go on the sides of the tender... it's not prototypical, I know, but it works well enough. The tender features a three wheeled bogie design modified from the one in Anthony Sava's famed ALCO MRS-1. The middle axle moves side to side, as to allow going through switches and curves without issue. The sideways stripes are also a Sava inspired feature, and are derived from his American 4-6-0. Hogsmeade Station (Version 1) This station is the terminus for the Hogwarts Express on it's school-ward journey. The platform is four tracks long, with the possibility of adding more sections due to the modular design. Their are two end-caps, two platforms and one station structure. Four benches are also included on the platform sections. This part is supposed to be on the tan 1x4 sign out front ( http://www.bricklink...asp?P=2431pb022 ) but LDD doesn't have the print. The inside features a ticket desk, and post box on the lower floor, while the upper floor features a station masters office space with a desk on the right side, and a switch / signal machine on the left. Two fireplaces (one per floor) keep the building nice and cozy during those cold winter days. These models are grouped separately in the LDD file: 2 Platform end-caps 1 Platform, left 1 Platform, right 1 Station, ground level 1 Station, second floor, 1 station roof Here is the street side. Notes: This model is based off of the building in set 10132, Hogwarts Express, from 2004. (motorized edition) The LEGO Digital Designer files for the Hogwarts Express train cars, Hogwarts Castle locomotive, & Hogsmeade station are available here: Hogwarts Express train coaches: http://www.mocpages....1426728491m.lxf Hogwarts Castle 5972 steam locomotive: http://www.mocpages....1426728306m.lxf Hogsmeade Station: http://www.mocpages....1412793766m.lxf Thank you for reading. 8. Hogwarts Boathouse Death of Severus Snape This is the Hogwarts boathouse. It is the place to store magical boats which are used to bring first-year students to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by the Black Lake. Also Professor Severus Snape died there in the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows (in the book he died in the Shrieking Shack). The boathouse from Deathly Hallows: Part II: The live-action full-scale set which only lacks the roof: I was always impressed with scale of Harry Potter studio sets. And this is the boathouse from the Hogwarts model which was used in first six Harry Potter films (along with Production Designer Stuart Carig): The boathouse was redesigned in Deathly Hallows: Part II, especially for Snape's death scene. Side view (with Harry Potter spying on Voldemort): Rear view: Hagrid transfers first-year students to Hogwarts Castle: The empty boathouse: The furniture (I don't know why wizards need oars but they were in the film): The main characters: Harry Potter, Professor Severus Snape, Lord Voldemort and Nagini, his pet snake and horcrux: The interior with Snape and Voldemort: The Death Eater and his Dark Lord are discussing magical powers of the Elder Wand: Harry Potter is hiding behind the window and watching for Snape and Voldemort: ...And suddenly the windows opened... "AVADA KEDAVRA!" No, not like that! This is far much better: Voldemort ordered Nagini to kill Snape, and she bit his throat: No mercy, no compassion. The Dark Lord doesn't care of his pawns. Voldemort is ready to leave the boathouse: Harry collects Snape's memories into a vial and looks into his eyes. The grim and snarky professor sees that the eyes of his most hated student remind him of his unfortunate love. Of Lily Potter. And then, he dies. Or, at least, it seemed like that:
  9. Here it is! After 2 and half year in the making, my Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! It's also my biggest project so far with well over 12000 parts, it also features a full interior! As you can see my stream is full with plain white pictures, that is because this is also my entry into CCCXI! For those of you who do not know you are only allowed to enter three pictures that is 800x600 big. So when the contest is done I will upload detailed shots of the whole castle on both the exterior and interior! So keep and eye out for that! I will also post a video on my Youtube channle shortly so look forward for that! btw I'm very sorry for the very bad picture, but I couldn't do better with my iPhone... :-( I also want to say happy new year to everyone! Hogwarts Vignettes

I had some time on my hands, a week ago before I came home from uni. Using the small amounts of bricks I had there, I made a few Hogwarts Vignettes to pass the time and to try some different building styles. Due to the small number of bricks, sometimes I had to substitute colours, but I'm still happy with most of them. I'll put them up in the order I made them. Seamus and Neville on the lakefront. Seamus is skimming stones and Neville is practicing Wingardium Leviosa. Trevor the Toad is contemplating life. Lupin's Office. Lupin is relaxing in his office with his favourite panacea - chocolate. His Wolfsbane potion is ready by the window, the tank behind his desk is ready for its next occupant, and he is casually perusing the confiscated Marauder's Map. Slytherin Common Room. Crabbe is finishing his pumpkin juice as Pansy Parkinson looks at the timetable to see which class she has next. The Humpback Witch Statue. Harry slides down the cute and sets of through the underground passage to meet his friends in Hogsmeade. Snape surveys the statue with interest. The Chamber of Secrets. Ron moves to clear the rubble that Lockhart blasted from the ceiling when his spell backfired. Lockhart is humming tunelessly. The Dungeon Corridor. Ginny is taken by suprise when the Bloody Barron drifts though the wall in front of her, through the stalagmite and stalactite formation. The Prank. Fred (or is that George?) floods the bathroom to make Quirrell late for class.
