    Lava Mining

A great amount of wealth can be obtained by collecting and purifying the heavy metals out of the many lava flows in the Rakath peaks of Nocturnus. Here we see a orc miner tossing his collection buoy into a good sized lave stream. The armor he wears is enchanted, as well as the chain and bouy, allowing the orc to work without becoming nice and crispy like the chickens of a certain restaurant in another universe. My first free build for Nocturnus, hope you guys enjoy. Making the following claims for UoP Doctorate Program: +1 on Extreme Environments-Lava +1 on Sideways Rocks
  2. Getting into Avalonia was not going to be easy, but dwarves are resourceful....and a brainstorm session can yield some great ideas! Raven Darksight was contemplating how to lead a group of his Dwarven Army into Avalonia, but those elves seem to notice everything. There has to be a way in to get past those elves! Ibun, son Mim spoke up, "I got it! We all know how Elves love the forest and the trees right?" "Aye!" "Well, all we need to do is have Rowyn and Bowyn dress up like a tree. They wander over near those Elves and start yelling 'Oi, Me leaves hurt, me branches hurt! Please help!' We know that those Elves won't be able to resist helping out a tree." "Stupid Elves, they'll probably still be munching on their croissants and sniffing their flowers while rush over to help the tree too!" "Yeah, then we sneak by and we can hold some leaves to hide us!" "Yeah, stupid elves!" They all laughed as they pictured those stupid elves sniffing flowers and helping out the tree in distress. If this doesn't work, nothing will!

  4. After the ordeal at Brevis, Arthur, his daughter Eleanor and Ban the dog took flight. They did not want to stay and witness the hysteria of the townsfolk. It is said of The Order of Eden, that when you are in need, they will find you. And so it was. The bereft father and daughter wandered at first aimlessly in the forest, then followed the mysterious flight of a great eagle. It came to rest on an enormous oak tree, which was home to two elves of The Order. The elves welcomed the strangers and bade them welcome and rest. They were not the first to pass that way. It was said that these elves had extraordinary healing powers, which they modestly said was all about the magic of the refuge itself. Indeed the elves were physicians of a type. Aerthel nursed the sick and Davor gathered the herbs for potions and compresses. Aerthel tended 2 Avalonian travellers who had fallen ill with brews of bitter herbs. The man appeared to have recovered well enough to catch some pheasant, but he could not bear to eat as his wife was still feverish and at the door of death. After a few hours of sleep, Eleanor busied herself fetching fresh water from the stream so that Aerthel could brew another potion for the lady. Meanwhile, Arthur helped Davor to dig out the roots he would need to stop the fever. The lady's crisis seemed to pass. The elves were good company, if a little aloof, but Arthur wanted to get on his way. He dared to hope that they were not the only survivors. He would always remember that refuge though. Perhaps there really was some magic in the place. And there was something about that tree. If you looked at it in a certain light, some of the knots in the wood looked a bit like a ...but it couldn't be. 5. After leaving the Healing House of Susanna, the brothers Alfrich and Gavin headed to the coastline of Avalonia. With their trusty pig and but a few belongings they made it to the town of Khandar, where Kha and his crew were helping to fight the plague. Kha had been sailing up and down the coast for most of the week keeping the shipping lanes clear and boats from making harbor where the plague may spread. Alfric and Gavin were desperate to make it to the city of Calder where the family has some extended relatives. Kha accepted their offer to work as deck hands in the hopes of making it south to the city of Calder later in the week. As the ship sailed around the corner of the bay, a member of the crew spotted a mysterious dark boat coming towards the city. Kha knew of the rumors of the 'black winged' ships spotted off the coast of Avalonia just before the plague broke out, and was determined to stop the ship from spreading further mayhem. As the boats approached each other, it became clear that the ship was not stopping, but seemed to be listing lazily through the waters. An oarsmen exclaimed in horror that the entire crew appeared to have died. It was then that they noticed movement on the deck.... So, here is the build for Category C for this Challenge. I was extremely over ambitious in how much time I had for this build and ran out this week! I ended up adding more foliage and less of the town than what I originally wanted, just to make sure that I could field an entry. Not super happy, but here it is. I would like to give some recognition to Zcerberus and Michael Rutherford for the inspiration on alot of this. 6. Old Elza the Sand Witch was cursed from a young age with powers ...or something, at least that's what I heard. Maybe she is just an old woman who lives alone on the outskirts of Eastgate. At least she doesn't have any cats. Requesting University of Petraea's Doctorate of Historica Program in the following Categories: Architecture: Roofing (roof 1) Round Walls and Towers
  7. Hello, since the other thread is becoming a response to the Call for Arms, I wanted to move the contest thread here. If you have already posted your entry, go ahead and post a link to it here. If you are posting an entry, make sure to link to it here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART TWO: Bringing the pain We are going to try something new this time around; we are going to have other people “build” weapons of war that will be used in both battles. The builders will build LDD models that we can use the show construction mode on. (Alternatively, a builder could photograph “instructions” to participate in this battle). Then, we will build some of these models for the battles. This is what you have to do: Create a separate thread for your weapon of war, then link it in a post in this thread. The title tag for the LDD contest is {WotB} In your thread you should have a completed picture of the siege weapon. You should have the capability to email us the design or “print” it. (Links to this material in your thread are highly appreciated!) You can add story to your weapon (maybe what company / person built it, etc…) You can also tell us what side you hope will use your weapon (Petera or Dugal’s). Is it a one of a kind weapon that has special properties? Or could there be multiple on the battle field? There are two categories, and each builder can enter both up to three times. The first category is Field Pieces. These will be used at the Battle of the Wither Woods. This battle will most likely take place in a lightly wooded area, but overall very few fortifications will be present on the field. The weapons can range from catapult to ballista, from twirling death machine to cow crusher… the limits are endless, other than it really should not be a siege engine. The second category is Siege Engines. These should be the heavy duty battle machines that are designed to take down walls, assault fortresses, and get men in close to fight the enemy. The siege engines will be used later on in the year at the Battle for Eastgate. One caveat -- the portion of the battle portrayed at the end of summer will be an invasion from the sea... So, any siege weapons that fold up nicely, may have the upper hand in the judging. (MAY HAVE) Specifications: Since we are going to try and build these, we are going to set a 400 piece limit. You don’t have to use 400 pieces, you can use fewer. We just won’t be able to build anything larger than 400 pieces. The one thing I do not have in my collection is a lot of technic gears and pieces, staying away from these would increase the chances of seeing your weapon in built form during the battle. However, containing many technic pieces won’t hurt your chance of winning. Just like the call to arms, anybody in the Guilds of Historica can participate. Deadline: Field Pieces: May 15th Siege Engines: July 30th The winner of each category will be forever known as Artillery Captain of Eastgate or Siege Commander of Eastgate

    The War of the Brothers

The War of the Brothers (Call to Arms AND a LDD Contest See next topic) This is the story thread, the call to arms and challenge is in thread two. Backstory: In the New City district of Eastgate, Dugal’s entourage and one of DaMaximus’s generals Herondle meet to discuss how to bring the Siege of Eastgate to an end. Herondle had just come back from a mission to Ximus, so he was unfamiliar with history that led his master’s army to this point. Dugal explained it to him in brief: eastgate by skaforhire, on Flickr The Free City of Eastgate had been ruled by its first Lord Dugal MacLean for five years before it swore allegiance to Kaliphlin in 101 AH. Dugal had gone on a few adventures, leaving Petera, the Second Lord of Eastgate and Dugals first brother in charge of the city. Unbeknownst to most of the population of Historica, Petera , a powerful mage, had been apprenticed to Victor Revolword a few years before becoming the Second Lord of Eastgate. When the Revolword war broke out, Dugal, Petera, and Paulos (the third brother) fought in the resistance against the destroyer of Historica and his elemental forces. Dugal was preparing to lead one of Historica’s main defenses against Revolword’s men at Queens Cross, but was assassinated on a scouting mission. At the Battle of Queenscross, Paulos took charge and won a narrow victory. Meanwhile, back in Eastgate, Petera , now First Lord, had erected a magical dome to protect the city from elementals. However, rumors soon surfaced that Petera had been behind the death of his brother. Assassins also struck at Paulos, but he was able to avoid death. A secret message from Dugal arrived to the High Council of Kaliphlin, asking for their support beyond the grave. Lord DaMaximus was to siege Eastgate and put it back in the hands of the merchant council, while defeating Petera. Others, such as Masa and Ageven were to save Merith, Dugal’s Fiance, by secretly removing her from Eastgate. After Merith’s escape, Petera became openly hostile to Paulos, while still keeping the city open to trading with most of Historica. DaMaximus laid siege to Eastgate, taking the New City area (the portion of the city outside of the walls) and sieging the heavily fortified Old City. Still, Petera was able to supply the city through magical portals, despite Paulos’s agents trying to stop this resupply. At the same time, Masa led the effort to bring Dugal back from the dead. They succeeded, and after another attempt on Dugal’s life, they were now here, in the New City district planning a final assault on Petera and Old Eastgate. It would have to come down to an assault because all attempts to starve the enemy out had been thwarted by Petera’s ability to create magical gates to resupply points. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Dugal and Paulos Dugal looked to Paulos, and said “What about a diversion?” DSC_0928 by skaforhire, on Flickr All three men in the room knew that the last three attempts on the Old City walls were met with failure. Petera appeared on the parapets himself to fend off the attackers. He hurled lightning from his fists and turned the ground outside the city to molten lava in places. Many men had already died in the siege attempts, and now it was time to do something more clever. “What did you have in mind? “ Paulos asked. DSC_0938 by skaforhire, on Flickr “We split the forces up and try to siege the Inner Bastion (the portion of the old city across the Red River) and the main city from three different points. Then, we lead two strike forces into the heard of the Old City, one will take out the Mage Cabal that controls the Eastgate College of Magic and Navigation. The other will take out GEAR headquarters, and hopefully Petera. “ Dugal drew his plan up on the map. Herondle looked at the map before him, “that might just work.” He said. <iframe src="https://www.flickr.c...stream/player/" width="640" height="640" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe> “Well, unless we have a better plan I think this is our next…” Dugal was cut off by a messenger running into the room. “My Lords, grave news! Petera has reinforcements marching South from Avalonia on the Oil Road.” The man said, nearly out of breath. “We will have to put this plan on hold,” Dugal said. “We must meet these new troops in battle away from the city, as far as possible. I do not want to be sandwiched between Petera on a perch throwing down the elements and whatever this new army has.” “Agreed” Herondle said. “I will hold the bare minimum of a siege force here, and you lead your forces north to fight this battle.” “We will need to call for more allies around Historica.” -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Petera Meanwhile… inside the Old City Walls of Eastgate DSC_0929 by skaforhire, on Flickr Petera looked to Elden Logan, the current Second Lord of Eastgate. The Logan family had been quick to ally with him once he revealed his plan. Elden’s family was guaranteed positions on the Merchant’s Council once Eastgate had been secured and his rule was recognized by the other Lords of Kaliphlin. “If Dugal is really back from the dead, do you not worry that the people of Eastgate that have chosen you will see him as the First Lord still?” Elden muttered. “I mean, you still have not proved that you can call the Golden Axe of Eastgate.” That had been the one thing that he could not do, it belonged to the rightful ruler of the city, and its enchantment had prevented him from calling it. Even when Dugal was dead, the axe never appeared to Petera. DSC_0934 by skaforhire, on Flickr “ I can call it just fine.” Petera said. “I have to wait until the right time, in front of my people.” He turned to the matter at hand. “I must use the rift circle to invite our Avalonian guests here. He turned and began to incant. Soon, the glyph on the floor glowed, and a portal to a wooded clearing appeared. A moment later a an Elf and two humans came through the portal. “Lord Baldwin, Duke Tyweld, and Lord Eldris, so good to you to have joined us. We may be the last of the Order left in this part of the globe.” Petera said. He was referring to the Valkarian Order, a group set up to bring Historica into a golden age. Petera had been initiated into the order by Victor Revolword before Victor went mad with power. The Valkarian Order had been created over 300 years ago, and was instrumental in establishing Historica about 104 years ago. Since then the order had gone dormant. That was until about ten years ago when powerful and just nobles began disappearing. This included Dugal and Petera’s own father. In fact, that is how his brother became First Lord of Eastgate to begin with. All over Historica nobles, including the second to last king, had disappeared without a trace. The power void caused by the missing leaders led to corruption in all of the guilds and a weak king in Cedrica. The order came back together and was determined to install real leaders in all of the guilds and the capital. There were even desires to take over Varlyio and other continents beyond for the glory of Historica. Then Victor went crazy. At first the Valkarian Order sided with him, his power play would bring order out of the chaos. But it had become evident that Victor desired power for himself over glory for Historica. Petera had supported Victor until the man finally went mad. Victor had supplied the Spear of Horris to Petera in order to kill and trap his brother. Petera knew that Dugal was part of the old regime, and could never accept what had to be done in Historica to bring glory and strength to the nation. Killing Dugal and taking over Eastgate may have been Victor’s idea, but Petera could see the sense in it. Petera never thought Dugal would return though. Now they had to do the job all over again. “What news of your brother?” asked Lord Baldwin. He was a minor border lord in Avalonia, but he had a lot of men. They were conveniently not fighting the dark elves at the moment. “Well, if he is out there, I am sure he wants the city back. That is why you all are bringing your army south. We will crush the siege against the walls of Eastgate and the war will be won.” Petera Said. “your war.” Eldris said dryly. “We have failed to turn the Revolword incident into a significant change for Historica.” It was odd having an elf there, Eldris’s clan were one of the few elf clans you intermarried with humans frequently, they also had been an important factor in regional politics for as long as Kaliphlin had existed. They were based on the plains between North Kaliphlin and East Avalonia. Eldris was a wizard also, but much less powerful than Petera, although he had ancient magic, which was always dangerous. “Once things are settled here, we can begin our plan to take the throne again. We will have to rebuild armies, and the Order will need Eastgate’s army and navy if we are to secure Kaliphlin in the New Historica.” Petera replied. Without a king, many in the Valkarian order wanted to march on Cedrica to claim a seat of power. Petera agreed, but knew that he must hold on to his city in order to have a position on the new Council of Cedrica. A new king would be crowned, and he would be one of the Kingmakers. First, to take care of Dugal. “I will meet you in two weeks’ time to open the portal for our Mitgardian and Nocturnan allies.” Petera said. “ Why not portal everyone to the woods outside of the city, they would have no warning.” Duke Tyweld said. Tyweld was a very wealthy Avalonian, wealthy enough to pay the Drow to fight for him in this most recent conflict in Avalonia. Schooled in strategy he was not… “We need to spread the men sieging this place thin. They will leave half of their army here, the other half will march north, and we will be able to crush each half one at a time.” Eldris answered. “The more powerful Alleenridders of Mpya Stedor will likely stay here, while the other MacLean leads an army north.” This should not be hard, these two armies were severely beat up during the Revolword War. “Sounds like a plan,” Baldwin chipped in. “Now is a good time to call those who may be willing to join the Valkarian Order to the field.” Petera said. The three men agreed. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* And for that reason, there would be two battles on the horizon. ------------------------------------------------------ The build for this is a WIP that I probably will not finish. It was supposed to be four scenes, the two talking scenes above, and two scenes of Petera's history. Unfortunately, it has sat for a while and I need to get moving with other things. Plus, the battle for the Wither Woods is going to happen in a little over a month, so I had to introduce the Call to Arms and the LDD challenge sooner rather than later. GNAR The VanHorn

The VanHorn is a former Mitgardian privateer, detained for its own safety while its brigand crew was slaving in the Gulag Archipelago. She is now flying under the Kaliphlin flag on a mission of mercy to deliver oil and armour to Avalonia. Sme of the former crew have renounced slavery and opted to take Kaliphlin citizenship, and they are joined on this leg of the journey by PGTC enforcer Urthrak Rockbiter and two elven emissaries from the Western Isles. This ship is for the Merchant Marine category. My duty is done with this. I am not building a ship again. This build is inherently very unstable out of water, with heavy fragile parts on top and it fell over and shattered all the damn time
  10. TOPIC LOCKED Use the second quarter registration here. First Quarter Free Build Registration Sept 1st 2013 to March 1st, 2014 (Book II, Quarter 1) What is this thread? This is the thread where YOU register your free build if you wish it to be scored for your guild. Why are you doing this to us? Despite Rogueang’s wonderful MOC index, the guilds project has become quite large. The core leaders feel that we need a self-indexing mechanism that will allow us to grade free builds more efficiently. This is what we have come up with. What do I need to do? Just simply write the following information In a NEW post: Name of Moc with link to the thread | Name of Builder | Guild you belong to IE: Obsidian Spike |ZCerberus | Nocturnus Do not write anything else. What counts as a “Free Build?” Great question! Any GOH build that was not entered in one of the official main challenges or for any official mini-challenge that issued a physical prize. All free builds must have their own thread, and there must be a link to that thread provided here. Do not comment on builds in this thread, please do that on the MOC’s own thread. Can I just post in my guild thread and leave it at that? Whereas you are welcome to do so, if the build does not make it into the index , it will not be scored. Can I put up an entry for another guild member's build? If that builder has disappeared and we are getting near the deadline, this would be allowed.

How to build a Medieval bridge?

I am building a Medieval farm MOC for my Historica guild and I am building a stream next to it and building a bridge over the stream. The dimensions for the bridge is roughly a 12x8. My plan is to make it wooden, so brown in color. I have come up with a few ideas, but just wondering if anyone here has any good ones. Thanks
  12. As reward for his involvement in the battle against Revolword, the Kaliphlin Lords granted Kha the title of Lord of Ras-El-Akhen. On his way home from Nocturnus back to Kaliphlin, Kha needed to traverse the Nyika Tupu Desert if he was to reach Ras-El-Akhen. What would await him there was as of yet unknown, but first are the trials of the road. The Nyika Tupu Desert is home to the Black Lions, a nomadic peoples of the Desert known for the harsh lifestyle, dedication to their spears and fierce approach to strangers. Kha presents the Black Lions with a gift of crossing and shares his tale in the fight for Historica. Perhaps, he has found some new allies in the fight for the realm. I plan to have much more in the way of Kha's travels home, as well as the less than warm welcome in his new city.... Also, I would like to claim UoP credits for Desert, Life in Kaliphlin and Sideways Rocks
  13. Trickery Xaris Flamesword has never played by the rules. A former Avalonian who framed his brother for a murder he himself had committed, Xaris abandoned Avalonia at Lord Ravaage's call. A mercenary at heart, Xaris has gathered a band of other bandits and sellswords, 'the Order of the Dragon' and a Drow noble and his entourage, Lord Ravenshelm of Myreglen, to assist him. While travelling to rendezvous with his paymaster at the Obsidian Spike, his band were attacked by a huge tribe of Cyclopes. Knowing they could never defeat the Cyclopes in open combat, Xaris challenged Chieftan Kareketr to a duel to the death. If he won, the Cyclopes would retreat. Never being one to win by fair methods, Xaris concealed a number of Drow warriors, including Lord Ravenshelm, an expert shot, in an abandoned former outpost just south of the duel area. As Kareketr engaged the leader of the Order of the Dragons in battle, Ravenshelm loaded his crossbow, aimed...and fired. Part B coming!
  14. “When I was a youth, the previous MoonLord brought me on a raid near the Nocturnus border. There were some political prisoners being transported through Nocturnus, and we elves were going to set them free.” Kha’s eyes seemed to be glazed over as he recalled the events. “That was the first time I had run across the Draconians. They are a fierce tribe from Nocturnus….twisted. Half man and half dragon, they say that they were created during the height of Nocturnus’s power by clerics of some forgotten deity through rituals that were unspeakable.” Kha was visibly shaken, and we got the impression that he knew first hand what those rituals were. “That, is who we are going to find in the swamps and recruit to help us fight the Black Spire.” “But Kha, how do you know they will join the fight and not just kill us?” “I don’t….but they were fiercely loyal to Ssilyrrlith. He allowed them to prosper under his rule. They don’t want much, as twisted and ugly as they look, they lead a simple life. They are not enough in numbers to challenge the rule of all of Nocturnus, but their territory is sacred to them. We will just have to very convincing in why the Black Spire will not leave them be.” We journeyed deep into the Moruth Swamplands, and we came across an ancient tower. Kha signaled us to a halt as we approached. He knew we had found the place, although how was beyond me. I can’t picture those dragonmen building anything, but the tower was definitely theirs. We approached the tower and were met by several of those beasts. Kha hailed them and spoke to them so quietly that none of us could hear what he said. Based on the emotions that I saw cross that twisted half man/half dragon face he struck a nerve. And seeing those almost human emotions on that nightmarish face will haunt me for the rest of my days. Now, we have an army of these dragonmen….Draconians with us as we march to the Spire. I’m not sure if that is a help or a hindrance…..I can’t even sleep at night with these things near me. By the way, I would like to claim UoP credit for the following categories: SNOT'ted Tile work, Round Walls for Architecture, A third tree design here for Landscaping, and Life in Nocturnus for Anthropology.
  15. Welcome good travelers! We are pleased to have you join us on this wonderful tour of the many wonders of Kaliphlin! Today is our first stop, and we are brought to the home of the elves in the Withered Woods. Remember to keep your arms and legs inside the trolley for the entire ride. The elves are known to be territorial, and only allow us through on special occasions. We also ask that you please do not feed the elves. Theirs is a strict diet of figs, berries, nuts and green vegetables. We hope you enjoy the tour, and remember to join us everyday for the rest of this month for the rest of the tour! Fellow Historicans, the tour of Kaliphlin has begun. We ask that you all enjoy the many wonders we have to offer over the next 2 weeks. As always, thank you for visiting your friends in the South!
  16. Wonders of Historica: Nocturnus Shrine of Immortality Located far to the East, over the highest of peaks, past the deepest and darkest swamps in Nocturnus, placed in the middle of an oil lake, sitting on top one of the oldest shrines of Historica, rests the single key to immortality---Green flames; not burning to the touch but magical, rest in a bowl under a blood red Cyprus tree…any person from the lowliest peasants to highest of kings may come to drink the flames, and gain their immortality…but it is not a journey free of peril… Devious souls. People who at heart are evil; and even those who may in the future do such evil deeds will be punished when attempting to drink the flames. The shrine cannot risk opening Historica to an eternity of evil men…and so…any monstrous person at heart would be burned by the flames; engulfed in emerald fire; thrown from the shrine of immortality, and into their oily tomb…the Goblet Graveyard. Miles and miles; hundreds of thousands of goblets all rest above the oil lake, with their master’s charred hands still holding on to them…their corpses trapped forever, and their souls destroyed. Then why, do you ask, why is this deadly temptress here? Do so many evil men risk their lives for the chance to live forever? Why was it constructed in the first place—to lure devious men to their deaths? And why was it built in a place of such evil as Nocturnus? Perhaps it was done because those who built it knew…while there would always be millions of evil men who wanted to abuse that power; it would only take one good soul to share that power...forever. 18. Fortifying Falhaven Master Architect Challenge Entry Black Falcons of Nocturnus Dearest Kestrel, I write to you now, my love, to inform you of our growing nest... Sir Tercel has served me well, and has returned just recently from Port Wrath with men and supplies; to which we now construct Falhaven. We are deep now within the old forest by the road; but I’ll ensure there’s a path that can hold your beloved carriage. I know you ask, as always, but until Falhaven is complete we cannot meet. I cannot risk you or the children leaving your safe nest to fly into the wild without Falhaven holding power for us. Soon you will have the power you wish, but soon takes time. Falhaven is only early in its construction, but the Minotaur and Cyclops labor yields quick results. We’ve started construction of a great tower that will look far over the forests, a perch for a Lord and Lady. It will be a simple fortress of course, but the forces that flow from it will be strong. I will soon be sending Sir Tercel to flight once more, as I see the need for alliances, and more specific supplies for the future. In the meantime, while you wait, keep the children close. I suspect treachery from the surrounding guilds, and change can only come from that dark wizard. Rest assured though, we will have our revenge. Fendrel ----------- Enjoy ~Nemo

    To the Forest

To the Forest Nocturnus Falcon Free-build On the outskirts of Port Wrath, we find our trio of Falcons leading their newly acquired force back to the Old Forest Road… Sir Tercel leads from his steed, as the force moves through the dark night of Nocturnus. No time can be spared now, as Fendrel requests their immediate return with the forces…and new the supplies they now carry. Stone, large cut blocks of rock now travel with the new force of Falcons. Ordered by Fendrel, the small army picked up a large supply of bricks from traders at Port Wrath. The lord demanded that a fortress was to be constructed at the same time Tercel’s mission began; and now the laborers require more material. They march slower now, but more determined; destined for the Old Forest Road, and the wood nearby, to where the fortress grows high...as does the army of the Falcons. Enjoy ~Nemo

    Hag's Tavern

Hag's Tavern Nocturnus Falcon Freebuild Hag’s Tavern; one of the darker spots of Port Wrath, that is if one considers some areas to be brighter than others. Having come to Port Wrath on their quest, the three Falcons, led by Sir Tercel, now come to Hag’s Tavern in search of allegiances… “Sir Tercel…this was a bad idea…we cannot trust the safety of the gold in a place like this! We’re more likely to be killed here then on the docks outside!” “Quite…Fendrel told me to come here…and you will do as he, and I, command.” Addressing the entire tavern now, Sir Tercel speaks aloud so all can here: “Tavern patrons! Listen! His lord Fendrel, and the Black Falcons of Nocturnus, are in search of troops and laborers. We ask now, that any willing able body persons, who take kindly to gold, come to us now…and join the blooming Flacon empire! Will anyone join us?!” From the dark smoke filled room comes a loud single reply; “What the hell is a Falcon?! I ain’t ever heard of one of them?!” More patrons scream in replies; “Their birds you idiot!” “Aren’t they the ones that got kicked out of Cedrica?!” “We left voluntarily, completely voluntary!” Tercel quickly interrupted back. “Do we have to wear stupid hats like you are wearing?” “I still don’t understand what a Falcon is!” Annoyed, Tercel screams out, “Ok! Well if anyone does want to join us, meet us outside—come on you two this was a waste of time, grab the chest and let’s go to the next tavern.” Enjoy ~Nemo

    Port Wrath

Port Wrath Nocturnus Falcon Free Build The caravan was taken. All were killed. And to the Falcon’s surprise, their vengeance awarded gold; a large chest of darics being hauled by the Lions was now in possession of Fendrel. He ordered his top men, and his lieutenant Sir Tercel, to take the gold to Port Wrath and purchase subjects for war. Port Wrath; a disgusting harbor on the northern edge of the eastern guild; easily distinguishable by its blood red water, was never a haven to humans. While dismissed by many, it’s actually a major trade hub; at least for the cursed and dark evil creatures that live there. All sorts of monsters live within it or within the deep red waters that surround it. Ghost captains and crew sail in and out of harbor each day and night, though they never dock, as they only sail the waters for an eternity with no purpose. It is here the Falcons came to buy allegiances, and it is here that the monstrous Falcons seemed the most at home. Enjoy ~Nemo

    Abandoned Tower

Abandoned Tower Parts 1-2 Nocturnus Free Build Long ago… Along the Old Forest Road, three years ago, a trio of Falcons came upon a Tower…It watched the dark forest, protecting the nearby town from wolves…but had been abandoned when its foundations crumbled…Its original guards were long gone; and the Falcons would have passed it by without a thought, that is until the hunter returned. A hunter; from the nearby village; used the tower to spot out stag…he had climbed down to confirm his kill, only to discover the stag had escaped; and returned to find a trio of men with a strange crest. They were looking at the tower, and intending to climb it. Foolishly, the hunter greeted them with open arms, and offered his assistance. The Falcons declined, as they had only intended to discover the owner of the equipment above; to which the hunter stated was his. Foolishly, the hunter then offered to bring the Falcons to the nearby village, so that they may feast as guests and sleep. The Falcons agreed, and weapons at hand, followed the hunter through the forest. They went farther and farther into the wood, eventually coming upon the nearby village, as the hunter had said... ~Nemo

    Tolswick Guard House

As part of my ongoing "Tolswick defense project" I am putting small guard houses up around the town. These cost less and are quicker to build than walls. This build was inspired by SoccerKid. FRONT: I used a tile and 1x1 stud technique on the front. The roof looks weird and flat in this picture, but in real life it looks better, and is made with log bricks. SIDE: I ran out of studs quickly, so soon I only had headlight bricks. That is why the tiles are so flat. INTERIOR: The roof lifts up too see inside. As you can see, I have not yet completed the interior, but all those studs facing in are just begging for a brown tile wooden wall. Thanks for looking and please put some C&C!

    Tolswick Barracks

A new MOC for my small town of Tolswick. As it is only a small farming town it has no walls around it, so it needs good guards. This is the first part of the Tolswick defense project. Also, as I haven't made a MOC in a while, I was just trying to use new techniques like the shield on the front and the grey brick pattern. FRONT: Note the gold studs round the window. I used a headlight brick backwards to do it. Another new technique for me. SIDE: BOTTOM FLOOR: Here is a guard training with a troll dummy while a Tolswick Ranger watches. The guard will be scared when he finds out real trolls move . UPPER FLOOR: Here is a guard having a quick nap while off duty. And yes those are beds from the burrow, that's where most pieces for this MOC come from.
