    MOCpages down?

Hey there, I don't know if this is the right place to put this topic in. But if it isn't, feel free to move it. You have to bare with me for a moment. I'm quite new here lol. As much as I love this forum, It seems to me that Mocpages is down. Or atleast I'm having problems getting onto the site. All of the other websites in my favorites work fine and I'm connected to the internet. Everytime I try to get to mocpages i keep getting Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I tried refeshing it several times and I still get the same message. I even used google to find the link to mocpages and when I click the link, I still get the same message. Its just weird because mocpages was working fine this afternoon. Its starting to frustrate me because I have some new mocs to post there so I can show them here. If you go to mocpages, does anyone else experiencing the same problem? Is mocpages gone or being updated? Heres the link to try for yourself. www.mocpages.com
  2. I've been on eBay recently and I saw some really cool minifigures, something that really stood out to me was the helmets (I'm talking starwars here :P) I really want to make my own mold and make my own well.. helmets. What do I need to accomplish this task? Is there a cheap alternative? I bought "Instant Mold" and I'm waiting for it to arrive, but I think the main problem is the cast. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Hey guys, I'm new to Eurobricks, so I'm terribly sorry if I've done something wrong. (Sorry again in advance if this was supposed to be in the buying/selling thread and not in the General). Ever since I was young, I loved Lego. I had collected many sets over my time, and had kept the sets completed with all their pieces up against my shelf to keep them together. But as of late, I've decided to move on from Lego (because they sit there and get dusty :P) and put my sets back in their respective boxes. The problem I have is that I am unable to find any guides as to how I should disassemble the Lego. Usually most sets have the Lego bricks in separate plastic bags marked 1, 2, 3 etc. with parts ranging from smaller pieces to wheels to larger pieces alike. Is there a site or a method to find out which parts go into which plastic bags? I have several zip-lock bags to place these parts into, but I'm unsure how to go about putting the pieces into their respective bags. Just to summarise, I am disassembling my Lego creations because I am moving on, but I am unsure as to how I should pack the creations back into their boxes, especially when it comes to the numbered bags. Is there any site/guide/video that explains how to fully disassemble a Lego creation? Thanks in advance, and sorry again if I've done something wrong! :P ~thatkid202
  4. Hello, Hope I am writing this in the correct sub-forum but I need help looking for an old LEGO set or any infomation about it. When I was at school my plasticworks teacher got the whole class to use what I remember to be a Dacta/Educational set with Technic and Pneumatic pieces. You could build multiple models but the one I remember the most is a dentists chair. It was in a small light grey box and may have had an inner plastic box like THIS. I have tried looking round but I can't seem to find infomation about it. Could you help me? Thanks -darthluke EDIT - Spelling Errors due to old keyboard. Sorry!
  5. Hey all! New member to the forums here. Found my way here after my friend instilled hype and a revived love of Lego after we went to watch The Lego Movie. Which was, of course, AWESOME. I'm interested in the world of Minifig customization, and my question to the community is how do you get started? And I don't mean the research and reading bits, I've found lots of helpful tutorials, methods, tips, and tricks from various places, as well a s this forum. What I'm curious about are the minifigs you use. Where do you buy them for cheap? What existing parts and accessories are the most easily modifiable? Do "minifig blanks" exist? And what do you personally use? I'm all up for from-scratch modifications, sculpting, repaints, decals as fun and fair game, so any advice on purchasing figures for modification would be helpful. Thanks!
  6. Probably going to head to the TRU today. I'd use bricklink but I'm building up a new collection and i'd prefer to pick up the part i need now. I need one more of these and though rebrickable says its in a lot of sets it doesn't tell me which ones unless i'm missing how to do it. http://rebrickable.com/parts/87408 anyone know what current kits might contain that piece?
  7. Dear all! I have a construction issue that someone might be able to help me with ... In the first picture below, one of the two cabins on my Lego aerial tramway. They travel along two wires (nylon rope 0.7 mm) on wheels (currently model 42610). These wires need to be supported by a tower along the way, and the challenge is to construct "saddles" for each side of the tower that can support cables while allowing for the cabins to slide over - without falling off. I have temporarily solved this with a wooden structure, but it is supposed to be all Lego in the end, right:) Below a picture of how these saddles usually look irl. Perhaps I can build something similar, but I have no clue what parts to use. Perhaps there is some sort of thin tube in the range that I can attach to the saddle, and let the nylon cords run through it and the cabin slide on top? Tricky ...All ideas are more than welcome, also entirely different solutions all the way:) Best! //E
  8. Hey everyone! As you may already know, I have made a few MOCs that I have posted on this forum, but without any video. So I was wondering what other people use to shoot videos of moving models. I personally make my models with performance in mind, so some of them are quite fast. I have seen some cameras for just over $100 with 1080p HD video and I was wondering if you guys use something similar. I think this would be a good improvement from my current camera as it only does 680p video or something like that and the video becomes extremely blurry once you enlarge the screen. I have already made two videos with said camera for my Roadster and Trophy Truck and they are too blurry. If I choose not use that camera's videos, then there will not be a video of the Roadster as it has been dismantled, and I'm still hanging onto the Trophy Truck, searching for a well-suited camera before I dismantle it as well. I know this is a bit off topic, but it would greatly help my Lego Technic interest, so any info is appreciated. Thanks
  9. i started a moc of a crawler trial type truck with a lsd (limited slip differential) which receives power from the motor through bevel gears that keep skipping and getting destroyed any help or suggestions would be appreciated i used an old style diff next to a clutch gear so the drive axle has some resistance only problem is the 16 tooth bevels won't mesh correctlly.
  10. I'm looking to make a custom of Amaterasu from ÅŒkami, so I looked on bricklink for the part I need (pic below, if my tablet doesn't glitch up), but they don't make it in white, so I'm wondering, does vinyl dye work to lighten pieces? And do you need to use 2 coats to dye them bright white? The aformentioned piece.
  11. Can someone direct me to the best lego vehicle design such as humvees, helicopters, jets and tanks. Also any decals would be helpful because i am setting up a moc. So can someone please tell me the best way to do these mocs?

    Best Landscaping Directions

What are some of the best ways to make landscaping for an upcoming project I am builing about lego military, along with this I was wondering if anyone had any building instructions for military vehicles from today such as humvees and jets to go along with these landscaping ideas. Thanks-Kartracer21
  13. I am attempting to build a nine axle mobile crane, and I want it to be able to achieve all modes of the real thing, including crab steer. I know that Liftingbricks has done this with his crane, but I can't figure it out. The constraints I'm working under are as follows: I have only two motor channels to work with. I want the axles, except for one, to steer proportionally in normal steer mode. One axle will be locked. I only have short, new gearracks in the required quanity. The crane has suspension, with live axles. Any help and suggestions are welcome.
  14. HELP WITH YOUR MOC This is a topic where you can ask other members for help with your MOC. It's linked in the Technic and Model Team Index. GUIDELINES FOR ASKING A QUESTION AND POSTING AN ANSWER Description Please be as clear as possible describing your problem. Reread your question and ask yourself whether someone without prior knowledge will understand your question. Picture A picture is worth a thousand words. Please try to include a picture with your question. This will make things more clear for other members. Tip! If you don't have storage online for storing a picture, please checkout Bricksafe. It's a great site for sharing pictures of your Lego creation. Alternatives are Brickshelf, but it will take some time before your pictures will be visible to other users and Flickr, which is pretty self explanatory. Remember to deeplink an image with a normal resolution, like 800x600. Whatever you do, don't post images that are over 1024x768 pixels (or 768x1024 pixels for pictures with a portrait orientation), which is stated in the site guidelines. Posting an answer When posting an answer to a question, please make sure to add the name of the member to whom to you are replying. Even better would be quoting one of his/her posts. When quoting a member please remove the images from the quote, unless it's really necessary to include them.
  15. Hello everybody, One day my nephew asked if we could make together a car. I started the project last christmas and have actually not made so much progress at the car, but i learned in the meanwhile a lot! I started with zero experience and haven't played a while with lego. Nicjasno was a good person that was very helpfull. The first suspension i made, was very bad according to nicjasno. After watching his video's, i was really ashamed of myself =P. How could i let see such a bad designed suspension to nicjasno! My nephew loves the Ford Mustang GT, and actually i love it to! The scale has in the meantime changed alot. Following nicjasno it was a good idea to build from the wheels. I started with the (http://www.bricklink....asp?P=44772c01) wheels. I followed the idea of sheepo's MacPherson idea. But after some testing i was not convinced enough. When you steer, one side of the car gets lift up because the length of the spring variates. Also an unexpected thing happened. The Powerfunctions XL Motors peforms bad, really bad. (even coupled). After some research i saw you could make your own engine with the lego pneumatics. I started with the one-cylinder from nico71. When i saw it for the first time actually working. The excitement really killed me! I was so excited i wanted to go to the next level. To directly build the biggest, bad-megablocks megablock engines was for me not a good idea. So the next choice was the SYS I3 from nicjasno with all the modifications. After the succesful build. I thought i was ready for the LpePower v8! =O. I have both models kept in my closet and have traded 3 yellow cylinders for 11 transperant blue cylinders. But i'm stil waiting for them. So the next wheelchoice was (http://www.bricklink....asp?P=44772c04), but they were to small to fit the big v8 engine block =P. So we went on to the biggest wheels lego has made: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=44772c03. In the meanwhile i had builded many idea's for the car, but parts broke every time. So we went to the 'heavy duty' category. Nicjasno had tipped me about his HDA. So i had made my own copy of it, but it was really to big! It was such a beautifull designed gearbox. So now, where my question comes from: I started building a rear suspension nicjasno made for his own Ford Mustang GT, but i don't use non-lego wheels with all the extra coming items such as the turntable and the custom adapters. So i had to do it with nicjasno modified wheelhubs (i follow his buildshow). But after many designs that are to big or to wobbly, i ask some advice from the experienced builders on this forum. The thingy that proposes nicjasnos modified wheelhubs and the headpart of the rear suspension (live axle) The wheelhub needs to fit the arms that are coming out, but has any a good idea how? Another photo Nicjasno's models without the cylinders. (I also want to say i appreciate the help of youtuber OOOONeoGamerOOOO with the modifications. I am still learning to do it my own.) Sorry for the bad photo's (original huh?) It is night and i have only a mobile i can acces at the moment. I'm new to this forum so if i do something wrong, i will hear it. Any idea is welcome! Greetings from Jesse, The Netherlands
  16. Hello everyone. I wanted to get some feedback on some SoNE free-builds I have started. I have never done a MOC much less post it online. They are a WIP and are not ready to be judged. I will also end up changing the names of each after I have more time to think about them. (When they are ready I will post each one in its own/new topic.) The only reason why I didn't make them bigger/more detailed is because I don't have very many pieces of the right color needed in the various builds. (90%-95% of my pieces are built into my LEGO sets and I don't want to disassemble any sets.) Constructive criticism is welcome! Thank you! Name: Mini Hoth Police Stand Scout Trooper arresting a rowdy Stormtrooper. Name: Communications Room on a Star Destroyer. Name: Guarding on Tatooine in a former pond. (Hence the plants.)
  17. First of all I appologize if this is the wrong place and please direct me to the correct place to ask these questions. I am looking around bricklink trying to figure out which colors of things I want to order and specific pieces I want to order to help build my own more realistic looking castles and scenes. I have order 1k each of trans-clear plate round clear, dark blue, light blue for water effects. I am looking now to what wall colors and pieces I would want. I am seeing Dark Bluish Grey, and light bluish grey, and Dark green for walls? Are these the color of the castle tiles I get in Helms deep and the castle sets? Are there other base colors anyone would recommend? Really just looking to get some knowledge on what parts I should be looking for to pick up.

    Best sets for stop motions?

Hello and sorry if this thread exists but i couldn't find anything related by using the search function. Anyway, here goes: For the past two years i'm trying to make some stop motions. I bought a dslr nikon camera, a tripod, the latest photoshop and after effects and all that. I wrote dozens of scripts ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 and even 5,000 words but i could never figure out the scenery. I live in Greece so Lego sets are seriously overpriced so i have to buy them online. I gave my old lego bricks to my cousins so now i have to start again. Now, my question is: Which of the sets thta can be found in lego's website would you consider pffer the best amount of useful bricks that can be used to make the scenery? I have a budget of around 300-400 euro (or 390-520 dollars) with shipping icluded. I will have lego sed the sets to a friend of mine in America and then he will ship them loose to me. Anyway, i'd love to hear your opinions and any help is appreciated!
  19. For the past few hours, I've been trying to make a decent decal for the torsos of a few of my minifigs. However, it has not been working out well... I cannot describe exactly what I am trying to create, as it is based off the uniform (in my head) that certain characters in a novel I am writing wear. Let's just say it is along the lines of a kimono... So, what I really am trying to achieve is the "wrinkle" effect that you see in the printing of most modern LEGO torso designs. As seen here: Note: look to the bottom of her kimono/dress for the creases/wrinkles... The "kimono" I am designing is less feminine, and completely white... so I can't just really copy the design of this one... So, does anyone have any advice on how to achieve the wrinkle/crease effect that LEGO uses to make the printing of their torsos look like actually worn clothing...such as the subtle lines on the second layer of her dress/kimono? And or any other tricks that LEGO uses when designing their torsos... Thanks, ~Deme PS: Hoping I posted this in the right sub-forum.
  20. Hello Eurobricks !! I'm searching for a book, not any book, but a book with the incredible crossections of Star Wars Vehickles ! To be specific , the one with the Clone Turbo Tank on front. I'm looking to buy it, but without a Credit Card , I can't get far, I only have paypall, so my options are limited . I prever a seller here in the Netherlands, ( who is willing to part with it ) for a normal rate , but any seller will do if you accept paypal. If you feel the need to help me on my way to this book, PLEASE ! help me. Also , I'm looking for others aswell, I have the one with the MF on the cover, but I want the one with the CTT on the cover most urgently. I really want this book, but sadly the release date was 2005, and living in an area that doesn't have a lot of good bookstore's ( like the American Bookstore ) it's really difficult to get hold of. So in short : Help me !! grtz Saint
  21. I have made a set with LDD and used LDD manager to get a part list (Link Below) and I can't find the majority of the pieces I need in Pick a Brick. I have tried searching for the brick name and element ID and still can't find them. I am new creating my one set and have never ordered individual bricks so Im sure im doing something wrong, if someone could help me find the bricks I need it would be much appreciated. 22. Hello, I just was searching and randomly found this page. Ok, let me get strait to the point why I'm here! I really need help finding this BIONICLE game that I havent seen in I'd say like 9 or 11 years ago. I know it isnt any Glatorion bullcrap, because that wasent out at the time. Let me give some details (If I can remember correctly) if I can: I played the game for the first time as a brown Matoran (The Rock people, I think) and I was walking around on a nice 'dirt' day, I came across a couple kids playing with a rock, and I kicked a rock and hit somthing (I can't remember what). I would REALLY appreatiate it if you could search for an hour or two to find it, I've been searching for about 6 years now for this game with the brown Matoran, and a game with a blue Matoran. Another fact I know is that this website with a girl on it for BIONICLE games didnt have it. Thanks.

    Best modular to buy

Hi everyone! I am about to buy my first modular, but want to buy a good one first. Out of the modular buildings you can currently buy on LEGO Shop@ Home(Fire Brigade through to Palace Cinema) which one should I get?
  24. Hello again, I have recently downloaded LDD and started building a pendular suspension set-up. My only problem is how should I transfer power from the main chassis to the pendular axle? Should I use Zblj's idea where two double bevel gears are meshed together (shown in one of his trial truck tip videos, I think it MIGHT be number 3 or 4...) Or should I just put in a rod that goes through the pivot point. Sorry if it's hard to understand - that's the best I could explain it. :/
