  1. I'm already building one grader, but larger. Also, when thinking about this contest, I was thinking about good use of those tires from VW T2 camper, which (just tires) I had bought some time ago. So I decided to build some smaller grader. So far I have this So almost ready front part. Front axle has swinging suspension, of course, it has steering, then there is blade with some functions - rotation, level adjustment on each side, so it can be also at some angle, and blade can change its position sideways. And yes, there are parts with excellent color consistency from siān. It is some 13 wide (blade rotated). Lenght will be around 345, so I have some 17 studs left for height.
  2. I can say that since I saw the first photos of the 42114 set, I already had an idea for an alternative model. Unfortunately, as usual, the idea had to wait to materialize. Photo for comparison with the original: Despite the fact that the 42114 kit has problems with the articulation and a fairly limited number of useful elements, I saw potential in it. Six wheels and Volvo stickers were enough to conclude that Volvo also produces graders. I waited with this idea to start building the model for almost a year. First, I assumed the model was to use the official model A control profile. I had to use the gearbox. I explored this topic while building a Mining Dump Truck. Despite the massive rear section, the positioning of the gearbox and engines proved problematic. I moved the wheel hubs down to gain more space and that was the right direction to build. As a result, I have a lot of space for details such as the radiator, engine grille and internal air filter. Thanks to these elements, the back part is nice to build and the whole process does not get boring. Even before starting work on the grader, I knew that the front part would be a challenge. I immediately got a realistic look at the steering. I placed the motor over the front axle as far as the cable length would allow. The steering works freely, much better than in the A model. The front frame is quite an interesting story. I was concerned that the long section itself would bend. It turned out, however, that the biggest problem is that the frame is firmly attached to the rear part. Finally, the entire cabin, including the roof, stabilizes the entire vehicle, which is very long (67 cm). I am satisfied with the blade section. I managed to get the nice look of this part by turning over the linear actuators. Thanks to this, the mounts are not so massive. The blade rotates on a small turntable and is stabilized with liftarms on the sides to eliminate backlash. It can be locked in seven positions: perpendicular - 0 degrees, and left / right at angles of 30, 36, 43 degrees. An interesting fact is the arrangement of the control plus elements. The Technic hub is centrally located to allow easy access to the battery compartment. I have placed the motors in the outermost parts of the model and the cables are 100% used and no motor could be moved even one stud away. An additional interesting feature is the ripper. It is lowered manually and locked. It turned out very aesthetically and has a very positive effect on the appearance of the entire model. Marton from forwartsticker designed a custom sticker sheet for this model, thanks to which the whole thing looks amazing. 3. Before deciding to build my own version of a Lego Technic grader myself, I searched a lot on the internet to find the version that represented the capabilities of this construction equipment. I found a lot of models rather well built but without motorized functions and others with motorized functions but was far from the aesthetics of a real one. So I looked at how I could make one to my liking and I started by looking at what scale I had to build to be able to integrate all of the hydraulic and power functions, so I built this grader on a scale close to 1:12. I very much hope that you will enjoy my work, because I wanted to share my passion for graders with you, be it with fans of construction equipment and / or Lego. Over 4800 parts, with all the functions like a real one, in total there are more than 13 functions which have been integrated into the design, i.e. 7 functions with PF engine (Powertrain, fake engine, fake radiator with a working fan, central articulation, steering, angle of the steered wheels, rotation of the crow), 5 pneumatic functions (sliding blade, angle of the blade, lowering and raising the blade, displacement of the crown from left to right) and 1 function manual (scarifier). I am very proud of the result, the non Lego items are 2 x Buwizz, 6 x RC tires, 18 feet of pneumatic hoses, lighting, everything else is 100% Lego brand. I also made a little video to show you the different functions in motion. I made the instructions and its available on Rebrickable for those who are interested (link here https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-54777/Wguarnere/volvo-g970-motor-grader/#details)
  4. Hi guys, I'd like to present you my MOC of a Motorgrader, which is based on a CAT 120M2. I worked on this for about 6 months since I saw this video, hence the color scheme. The goal was to recreate as many functions of the real grader as possible, which I'd like to show in this little video. There are many pneumatic and manual functions. The grader also has has pendular suspension on front axle and twin pendular on the back wheels. Pneumatic: - Moving of front blade - Moving of rear ripper - Moving of middle blade with 3 cylinders (up/down/sideways) - Tilting of middle blade Manual: - Steering - Articulation of rear end steering for tighter turning circle or grab steer - Tilting of front wheels - Vertical turning of the blade - Shifting the blade to left/right side - Spring loaded, lockable center pin for left/right swing motion of the blade attachment mechanism One of the most challenging things has been to angle the blade for grading embankments. Therefor I needed this swing motion of the blade mechanism with the lockable center pin (notice the height difference of both pneumatic cylinders). The whole scale has been chosen according to the pneumatic cylinders (friggin expensive 1x11), where the new 68.7 tires fit perfectly in my opinion. As the cab is stuffed with pneumatic hoses, I have dropped the idea of implementing a seat and interieur. The scale fits nicely with the Arocs, which strangely is missing one pneumatic cylinder ...
  5. I present you my Moc of grader Number of parts: 1891 --> x1 XL for propulsion, x1 servomotor for steering and x1 IR receiver --> all functions are pneumatics -> x1 Lmotor to drive 2 compressor cylinders, x1 airtank, x1 automatic compressor shut-off valve, x4 control valves, x4 pneumatic cylinders. --> 42030 wheels --> 6cyl. in line fake engine The blade cylinders are independent, it allows to tilt the blade
  6. Hi Guy, i will show you my last Project. A Grader in Scale 1:12,5 and Style form Volvo G940C. I build this one this year for Bricking Bavaria 2016. The Grader have the most Functions then the real Model. One Function is missing. Here a list of the Functions: 1x L-Motor Autovalve for Lift Up/down the Front Blade 2x L-Motor Autovalve for Lift Up/down the Middle Blade 1x L-Motor Autovalve for Slide the Middle Blade Left/Right 1x M-Motor Autovalve for Lift Up/down the Rear Ripper 1x M-Motor for Compressor 1x Servo for Steering 1x M-Motor for Rotate the Middle Blade 1x M-Motor for Articulated steering 1x XL-Motor for Drive 1x M-Motor to change the Gears in the 2-Speed Gearbox The Decals are Printed on the Liftarms. Tires are not Lego. But in the Diameter have Lego no tires.
  7. Hello all! I want to present my MOC - remote controlled (RC) Grader. Total construction time – about 4 months. Total length without rigs – about 80 cm. Weight – 5 kg. Total parts quantity – 5200. There are 12 independent RC functions: five mechanical: - All-Wheel Drive (3 x XL); - Two-stage steering (1 x L – forward wheels steering, 2 x M – articulated chassis); - Forward wheels tilt (1 x M); - Mouldboard rotation (1 x L); and seven pneumatic (5 x M – I used scheme with dependent and independent valves, as illustrated on picture below, so I exclude two additional motors): - Forward and rear PPTOs; - Mouldboard attack angle; - Horizontal mouldboard shift; - Diagonal mouldboard shift; - Left and right main mouldboard cylinders. The two-pump compressor is auxiliary function and it has independent RC too (1 x M). All of these functions are provided by 17 Power Function motors connected to seven IR Receivers and two AA-Battery Boxes (electric scheme of the model you can see on the picture below). Model composition: Total pneumatic hoses length – 14.8 m. Scheme of pneumatic connections: The model has opening doors with locking, realistic mirrors and lights, some versions of rigs – forward (additional blade with pneumatic control or additional weight for mouldboard pressure increasing) and rear (pneumatic controlled ripper). Opening bonnet makes possible a visual control of pneumatic valves working. Paralleling of the Power Function channels is realized by covering/uncovering some IR Receivers by using independent RC channel (mode switch). The mode switch consist of three M-motors, one of them is used for dependent pneumatic valves management. The model is very big, so I create special platform for its transportation. And a small video demonstration: Thank you for your attention!
